OLED Screen Care
OLED Display is state of the art technology and
combined with our Picture Quality Engine it has won
an outstanding number of awards. To ensure that
your TV always offers the best possible performance,
it will sometimes perform a display clean-up process
while in standby.
If you never put your TV in standby, you will regularly
be notified by on screen messages that the display
needs to execute this clean-up process. Please
always follow those instructions. Repeatedly
postponing this process may result in image retention,
which may void your warranty.
Leave your TV in standby so the cleaning process can
take place in the background.
We also recommend that you avoid continuously
displaying static images or static parts in moving
images (like a news ticker, soccer score, video game
status bar, etc.).
TV Display refresh
To protect the screen, OLED TVs undergo a refresh
process over time.
There are 2 types of refresh processes:
• Normal refreshing: This takes place automatically,
and it takes a few minutes with the TV in standby
mode.
• Deep refreshing: This takes a few minutes and needs
to be triggered by the user.
To allow OLED TVs to perform refresh properly,
please adhere to the following:
• For the normal refresh process to take place
automatically, always use the remote control to
switch off the TV and keep the TV plugged in.
• When the normal refresh message is shown on the
TV screen, follow the on-screen recommended
instructions.
• The deep refreshing process can be activated
manually via  Settings  > Display & Sound >
Screen >Â OLED SCREEN SETTINGS >Â Clear
residual image. A reminder message can also be
shown on the TV to request the user to perform deep
refreshing, please follow instructions and keep TV
power plugged to allow the whole process complete.
This can take a few minutes. The deep refreshing
process shall only be done when a residual image is
seen on-screen even after 8 hours of standby.
Manually performing Clear residual image too often
may reduce OLED display lifetime. However, it is
important to allow the refresh cycles when requested
by the TV.
• Do not touch or apply pressure on to the TV screen
during the refresh process.
• Always use remote control to turn off TV and keep
the TV power plugged on when refreshing is triggered.
* Note: In order to enjoy the best picture quality, this
process is essential. If the unit demonstrably did not
have the opportunity to complete a regular refreshing
process, we cannot accept returns, repairs, exchanges
or warranty claims regarding residual image
phenomenon during and/or out of the warranty
period. Residual image phenomena can occur when
the TV is used mostly for gaming with static content
on the screen, when it is only used for watching news
channels (with static news tickers) and in other similar
situations that increase the risk of burn-in effects. This
is not in the scope of the warranty.
Special Care for OLED TVs
Organic LED (OLED) TVs may experience on-screen
image retention (due to the characteristics of the
material), when an image is continuously displayed
for a long time or the same image is repeatedly
displayed. It is strongly recommended to follow the
care instructions for OLED TVs:
• Do not display still images continuously or display
the same image for more than 10Â minutes.
• It is recommended to use ECO, HDR Home Cinema
or Dolby Vision Dark as the picture style under
normal home viewing conditions.
• It is recommended to use OLED Contrast setting 50
or below in picture settings when playing games or
watching TV programs with logos or clocks on any
part of the screen.
• Turn off On Screen Display (e.g. home menus) of TV
apps when not used.
• Turn off On Screen Display from connected external
video devices (e.g. DVD player). For details, refer to
the instruction manuals for the connected devices.
• Avoid displaying video with bright colors (including
white), text, clocks or logos on any part of the screen
for a long time.
• Use Wide screen or Fill screen as picture format
option (see TV picture settings).
• Always watch videos in full screen instead of a small
window on the TV screen. (e.g. video in Internet
browser page)
• Do not attach any sticker or label on the OLED panel
to reduce the chance of image residual phenomenon.
• Organic LED (OLED) displays are extremely sensitive
to hostile climate and external factors, like placing
them in direct sunlight and/or ultraviolet illumination,
as well as improper ambient temperature, resulting in
reduced luminosity, brightness and lifetime, pixel
reduction and irreparable harm and/or failure. Note
that the warranty does not apply to problems that
result, directly or indirectly, from use that does not
follow these product instructions.
