Water Slide Install Guide
OWNERS MANUAL
Overview
Aquaworx waterslides are manufactured and distributed by Aquaworx
Inc. We are a manufacturerof aquatic waterslides, play features,
filtration, and interactive water playsets. Our plunge waterslides are
designed to be installed in bodies ofwater with aminimum depth of 4’.
Installation in water depth less than 4’ and cause harm or death to the
user. Slides with run out lanes are engineered to ensure proper length
for safe operation.
Building Codes and Standards
The installation ofAquaworx waterslides must follow all local building
codes and standards. Following all local building codes and standards is
the sole responsibility of the contractor.
Installation and Assembly ofSlides
Aquaworx manufactures several different types of slides in multiple
configurations. Each slide is engineered per project and will be
assembled accordingly.Specific steps and installation procedures must
befollowed to ensure the safety and integrity of the slide. Improper
assembly and installation of Aquaworx slides will void the warranty.
The slide must be installed and tested before any rock work, dirt, or
concrete are installed around the slide. This step is critical to ensure a
safe and problem free install.

Location Instructions
Location of the slide isthe sole responsibility of the installing
contractor. Any placement of the slide must be in accordance with a
stamped set of plans from an engineer. This is critical so the slide starts
and terminates from the proper points onthe plans. Attachment points
and footers also require site specific engineering. Please note that any
construction drawings that arenot 100% complete and are labeled "for
bid only"should not be used as an installation guideline. Only 100%
stamped and approved drawings from anAquaworx approved engineer
will be permitted for location and construction.
Slide Part Connection Assembly
Every Aquaworx slide iscompletely assembled from start to finish inour
facility. The following steps must be done for proper installation.
Installers must follow proper safety guidelines that are indicated on
each product.
1. Each slide flange must becleaned with acetone or comparable
solvent
2. Prep each flange with SIKAp429 primer (or equivalent) and allow
to dry for a minimum often minutes. (supplied by Aquaworx)
3. Caulk face of the flange with SIKAFLEX SIK1AW (or equivalent)
(supplied by Aquaworx)
4. Bolt flanges together using the 3/8 (316SS hardware) provided by
Aquaworx. Each flange can take up to60bolts and is pre-drilled.
5. Clean inside and outside of the flange connection of any access
caulk

Saddle Connection
1. Each saddle must beconnected according to engineered
specifications
2. Straight parts of the slide must belevel on the top from side to
side using a 6’level
3. The saddle must be attached level and below the washers on the
bottom of the slide flange using (6) ½” x 2 ¼” 316SS bolts
4. The saddles will beconnected to aconcrete footer or other
approved structure using fasteners specified by the engineer
DAILY SLIDE INSPECTION
Adaily inspection of the slide is important to maintain your
investment and the safety of each rider. Prior to daily slide
operation an inspection must be performed. This inspection
includes the following:
1. Inspect the slide path to make sure there are no obstructions
2. Look for chips,bubbles, or cracks inthe fiberglass finish
3. Leaks or drips from flange connections
4. Caulking that has worn or peeled away
5. Any loose or missing fasteners
If any of these items are noticed they must becorrected and or
repaired before the slide can beopened for operation.

WATER SLIDE GEL COAT MAINTENANCE
All Aquaworx waterslides are made from gel coat and fiberglass. They
must be maintained just like any other fiberglass product.
Fiberglass isacommon term for fiber-reinforced plastic, or FRP, which is
aplastic material strengthened using afiber cloth. To give the fiberglass
asmooth, shiny surface, a material called gelcoat is applied to the outer
surface. Gelcoat is used to cover any imperfections within the
fiberglass, ensuring a smooth riding experience for the user.
Gelcoat is available in many colors and is fairly durable, but itcan
become dullor faded as itweathers. Sunlight and air combine to
oxidize the gelcoat surface, fading itand making the surface cloudy. The
oxidation process for gelcoat issimilar to how metals rust or corrodes.
To ensure the desired look and extend the life of your gelcoat surface
the following maintenance should be performed approx every 3-6
months depending on site specific weather conditions or sun exposure:

1. Clean surface area with soft towel or cloth to remove excess
dirt or scaling
2. Apply fiberglass wax or sealer as you would to a car or boat
*marine grade wax or sealer reccommended
3. Buffing with circular polishing wheel may be necessary
dependent upon condition

Waterslide Safety Plan
Hours of Operation: TBD per project or while attendant ispresent.
Attendant/Employee Responsibilities:
1. Start filtration system a minimum of three hours prior to
operating the slide
2. Walk slide, steps, landing, flume and platform prior to opening.
Ensure slide, steps, landing, flume and platform are clean and
safe. Check for any signs of sharp or rough fiberglass surface or
other deficiencies on the flume and tower. The slide will not be
opened ifany deficiencies are found.
3. Slide attendant will enforce all rules at all times.
4. If slide requires attendant: In the event the attendant leaves the
slide area, the slide will be turned off and everyone must exit the
slide area. Gate will be closed and locked until attendant returns.
5. Attendant will keep riders three (3) feet away from the slide
surface until the previous rider exits the bottom of the flume and
the area around the bottom of the slide iscompletely clear.
6. Riders will wait at the mid-stair landing orthe lower unit such
time asthe next rider iscleared to enter the slide surface.
7. Slide will be closed if lighting is detected in the area.
8. At closing, attendant will ensure that the filtration system will
remain on for a minimum of three (3) hours.

8. Riders must be in the proper riding position. (Lying on back, feet
first, arms crossed or hands interlocked behind head, legs
crossed atthe ankles)
9. No standing or head first riding
10. Only onerider may go down the slide ata time - NO multiple or
chain riding
11. No life jackets, inner tubes, water wings, jewelry,cut off jeans or
tee shirts orother “street clothes” are allowed - Proper swim
wear is required
12. No riders underthe influence of alcohol ordrugs are permitted
13. Riders must exit the slide quickly and clear the plunge area
completely prior to next rider

Waterslide Rules
1. Users under14 years ofage must be accompanied by a parent
or legal guardian
2. Rides must be a minimum of42inches tall
3. Riders must be 300 pounds orless
4. Riders must be in good general health
5. Persons with heart orback conditions shall notride
6. Pregnant women should not ride
7. Riders must be seated and wait for the attendant approval to
start down the slide
