Dress properly. W ear heavy long pant s, boot s and
g lo ves. Do not w ear loo se clot hing , short p ant s,
and jew elry of any kind . Secure long hair so it is
above shoulder level. Keep your hair, clot hing and
g loves aw ay f ro m m o ving p art s. Lo o se clot hes,
jew elry or long hair can be caught in m oving part s.
Check your machine before starting it. Keep guards
in place and in w orking order. Make sure all nuts,
b olt s, et c. are securely t ig ht ened , in p art icular
t ho se f ixing t he im plem ent t o t he m achine.
Never operat e t he machine w hen it is in need of
repair or is in poor m echanical cond it ion. Replace
d am aged , m issing or failed p art s b efore using it .
Check fo r fuel leaks. Keep t he m achine in safe
w o rking cond it ion.
Do not use the machine if t he engine’s swit ch does
not turn it on or off. Any gasoline pow ered machine
t hat can not b e co nt rolled w it h t he engine sw it ch
is dangerous and m ust be replaced .
Fo rm a habit o f checking t o see t hat keys and
ad just ing w renches ar e rem o ved f ro m m achine
area before st art ing it . A w rench or a key t hat is
left at tached to a rot ating part of t he machine may
result in p ersonal injury.
St ay alert , w at ch w hat y ou are d oing and use
co m m on sense w hen op erat ing t he m achine.
Do not ov erreach. Do no t o perat e t he m achine
w hile b arefoot or w hen w earing sandals or sim ilar

Fuel saf et y
Fuel is highly flammable, and its vapors can explode
if ig nit ed . Take p recaut ions w hen using t o red uce
t he chance of serious personal injury.
W hen refilling or d raining t he fuel t ank, use an
ap p roved fuel storage container w hile in a clean,
w ell-v ent ilat ed o ut d oor. Do not sm o ke, o r allo w
sp arks, op en flam es o r ot her so urces of ig nit ion
near t he area w hile ad ding f uel or o perat ing t he
unit .
Keep grounded conduct ive object s, such as t ools,
aw ay f r o m ex p o sed , liv e elec t ric al p art s an d
co nnect ions t o av oid sp ar king o r arcing . These
event s could ignit e f um es or vap ors.
Alw ays stop the engine and allow it t o cool before
filling t he f uel t ank. Never rem ove t he cap of t he
fuel t ank or add fuel w hile the engine is running
or w hen t he eng ine is hot . Do not op erat e t he
m achine w it h know n leaks in t he fuel sy st em .

p ressure in t he t ank.
Never overfill fuel t ank ( t here should b e no f uel
ab ove t he up p er lim it m ark)
Replace all fuel tank and cont ainer caps securely
and w ip e up sp illed fuel. Never op erate t he unit
w it ho ut t he fuel cap secur ely in p lace.
A void creat ing a source of ig nition for spilled fuel.
If fuel is spilled, do not att empt to start the engine
b ut m ove t he m achine aw ay from t he area o f
spillage and avoid creating any source of ignition
until fuel vapors have dissipat ed.
Never st ore f uel or m achine w it h fuel in t he t ank
insid e a b uild ing w here fum es m ay reach a sp ark,
op en flam e, or o t her sources of ig nit io n, such as
a w ater heater, furnace, clot hes dryer and the like.
A llow t he eng ine t o coo l b efore st oring in any
enclosure.
Machine use and care
Never pick up or carry a machine w hile the engine
is running.
Do not force the machine. Use the correct m achine
for your app lication. The correct m achine w ill do
t he job b ett er and safer at t he rat e f or w hich it
w as designed .
Do not chang e t he eng ine g o vernor set t ing s or
over-speed t he engine. The governor cont rols t he
m axim um saf e operat ing speed o f t he engine.
Do not run t he engine at a high sp eed w hen not
in use.
Do not p ut hand s o r feet near rot at ing p art s.
Avoid contact with hot fuel, oil, exhaust fumes and
ho t surfaces. Do not t o uch t he eng ine or m uffler.

They remain hot for a short t ime after you t urn off
t he unit . A llow t he engine t o co ol b ef ore d oing

If t he m achine should st art t o m ake an unusual
noise or vibration, immediately shut off t he engine,
d isco nnect t he spark p lug w ire, and check f or t he
cau se. Unusual no ise o r v ib rat ion is g en erally
w arning o f t roub le.
Use o nly at tachm ent s and accessories app roved
b y t he m anufact urer. Failure t o d o so can result
in personal injury.
Maint ain t he m achine. Check fo r m isalig nm ent or
b ind ing of m oving p art s, b reakage of p art s and
any other condition that may affect t he machine’s
operation. If damaged, have the m achine repaired
b efore use. Many accid ent s are caused b y p oo rly
m aint ained eq uip m ent .
Keep the engine and m uffler free of grass, leaves,
excessive grease or carbon build up t o reduce t he
chance of a fire hazard.
Keep c ut t ing t o ols sharp and c lean. Pro p er ly
maint ained cut t ing tools w ith sharp cutt ing edges
are less likely t o b ind and are easier t o co nt ro l.
Never douse or sq uirt t he unit w it h w ater or any
ot her liquid. Keep handles dry, clean and free from
d eb ris. Clean af t er each use.

g as, oil, et c. t o p rot ect t he env iro nm ent .

Service
Before cleaning , repair, inspect ing , or adjusting ,
shut off t he eng ine and m ake certain all moving
parts have stopped. Alw ays make sure t he engine
switch is in its “OFF” position. Disconnect the spark
plug w ire, and keep t he w ire aw ay from t he p lug
t o prevent accid ent al st art ing .
Have y our m achine serviced b y q ualif ied r ep air
p ersonnel using o nly id ent ical r eplacem ent p ar t s.
This w ill ensure t hat t he safet y of t he m achine
m aint ained .

(stones, metal w ires, rods et c.) from the area where
t he eq uip m ent is t o b e used .
This machine has been designed and manufactured
for b eing used b y one operat or only.
Keep all b y st and er s, c hild ren, and p et s at least
23m ( 75 feet) aw ay. If you are ap p roached, st op
t he unit im m ed iat ely.
W alk, never run w it h t he m achine.

A lw ays operat e t he machine from b ehind , never
p ass or st and in f ront o f t he m achine w hen t he
engine is running.
Disengage all com m and levers before st arting the
engine.
This unit has a c lut ch. Squeeze t he clut ch cont rol
lever and check t hat it ret urns aut om at ically t o
the neutral position. If it does not, have unit adjusted
by a qualified repair personnel.
Engage the clutch gradually. Sudden engagement
could cause the machine t o rear-up.
A lw ays ho ld t he unit w it h b ot h h and s w hen
operat ing . Keep a firm g rip o n t he handleb ars. Be
aw are that t he machine may unexpect edly bounce
upw ard or jum p forw ard.
If t he unit strikes a foreign object, stop the engine,
disconnect t he spark plug, t horoughly inspect the
m achine f or any dam ag e, and repair t he d am age
b efore r est art ing and op erat ing t he m achine.
Use ext rem e caut ion w hen in reverse or p ulling
t he m achine t o w ard s you.
Do not o verlo ad t he m achine’s cap acit y.
Never o perat e t he unit at hig h t ranspo rt sp eed s
on hard or slip pery surfaces.
Exercise ext rem e caut ion w hen o perat ing o n or
crossing g ravel d rives, w alks, or roads. Stay alert

Never leave t he operat ing p osit ion and leave t he

and is shipped in carefully packed cart on. A fter all

check transmission for lubricant
before use. Damage due to no or low
oil lever is not covered by warranty.
Transmission takes 1.6 liters of 75W-
90 lubricant.

b ar, it is necessary t o t urn t he handlebar of 180 °.
Before t his, release the speed shift lever and PTO
lever f rom t heir su p p ort s, p ull t he hand leb ar
st eering lever and t urn it 180 °. Insert it again af t er
choosing t he ideal position of the handlebar. A fter
t u rning t he h and leb ar, lev ers m ust b e in sert ed
ag ain int o t he sup p ort s. W hen t he hand leb ar is
t ur ned , t he m achine w ill g o f orw ard in rev erse
speed and back in 1
st speed.

1. Set t he t hrot t le lever on t he hand leb ar at half -
w ay posit io n. If t he eng ine is cold , eng ag e t he
choke on t he carburet or.
2. Set engine for starting as described in the engine
m anual.
3. Pull t he st ar t er g rip lig h t ly un t il y o u f eel
resist ance, t hen p ull b riskly, ret urn t he st art er
g rip g ent ly . The st art er g r ip m ust alw ay s b e
g rasped w it h one hand only , t o p revent t he

Never use a “pressure washer” to clean
your unit. W ater can penetrate tight areas
of the unit and cause damage to spindles,
gears, bearings, or the engine. The use
of pressure washers w ill result in

Inspect the general condition of the unit Check
for loose screw s, m isalig nm ent or b ind ing of
moving part s, cracked or broken parts, and any
other condition that may affect its safe operation.

brush, vacuum, or compressed air. Then use a

Clut ch: as clut ch w ears o ut , t he sam e lever
could have a w ider opening, b eing so uneasy
to use. This m eans that it is necessary t o adjust
t he cable, set t ing clut ch lever o n it s orig inal

Eng ine: you should check t he oil every 4 hours
of w ork and rep lace it every 50 hours of w ork.

Gearb o x : check oil lev el ever y 50 ho urs of
w orking removing the plug and check that, w ith
horizontal machine, oil reaches the tw o notches.
If necessary , add t he o il.
Gearb ox oil replacement: oil m ust be replaced
w h en ho t b y unsc rew ing f iller c ap and p lug
eq uip p ed w it h an oil d ip st ic k. W hen o il is
completely drained, replace filler cap and fill up
w it h new oil.
Sickle b ar: grease t he blade m ovem ent block
using t he greaser every 4 w orking hours. Keep
t he b lad e co rrect ly adjust ed b y reg ulat ing t he
blade holders. They must not b e so t ight t hat
t hey lock t he blad e. A lw ays keep b lades sharp.

period longer than 30 days, follow t he steps below
t o p rep are your unit for st orage.
1. Drain t he fuel t ank co m p let ely. St ored f uel
containing ethanol or MTBE can start to go stale
in 30 days. Stale fuel has high gum content and
can clog the carburetor and restrict fuel flow .
2. Start t he engine and allow it to run until it stops.
This ensures no fuel is left in t he carb uret or.
Run the engine unt il it stops. This helps prevent
d ep o sit s f ro m f orm ing insid e t he carb u ret o r
and possible eng ine damage.

Do not store the unit w ith fuel in a
non-ventilated area where fuel fumes
may reach flame, sparks, pilot lights
or any ignition sources.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
The follow ing is a list of sm all problems w hich can
occur w hen using t he w alk-b ehind t ract o r and
w hich can b e solved b y t he user.
1. Eng ine d oes no t st art .
Make t he follow ing checks in t he order given:
The fuel tank should be at least half-full.
The fuel tap should be open.
The choke should be set on OPEN (when engine
is cold ).
Fuel m ust reach t he carburet o r.

The mesh filt er at the entrance to the carburetor
input m ust be clean.
The carburet or jet s m ust b e clean. To check,
screw them out and if t hey are dirty, clean w ith
a blast of air.
The gears do not engage.
Regulate the clutch by screw ing the adjustment
screw unt il t he clut ch has a g oo d clearance, 5-
6m m . Take care not t o elim inat e all t he p lay,
as t he cab le m ust nev er b e t oo t ig ht .
Machine w ith tiller. The machine jum ps forward
on hard ground.

Cut grass should fall in front inst ead of being
eject ed at t he sid es.
If t he grass is very t hick and there are discharge
problems, rem ove t he w indrow forming guides.
