WIFI-BUDDY QuickStart Guide
How does WIFI-BUDDY Stream Data?
Background
WIFI-BUDDY uses a private network to stream data between the WIFI-BUDDY and your PC.
The TH1 Module collects data while the Wi-Fi adapter transmits the data to the PC. This set-up
uses a static IP configuration to create a temporary, private network to stream data.
What is an IP Address?
An IP address is a unique number assigned to every device on a TCP/IP network. Just like your
physical home address lets people know where to send your birthday card, IP addresses
identify computers and devices and lets them communicate with each other.
What is a Static IP Configuration?
A static IP address is an IP address that was manually configured for a device instead of one
that was assigned by a DHCP server. It's called static because it doesn't change vs. a dynamic
IP address, which does change
Once your device is assigned a static IP address, that number typically stays the same until the
device is decommissioned or your network architecture changes.
What is the Difference between Static and Dynamic IP
Configuration?

the PC, Routers and Adapters
