The WedgeTM Standard Installation
Getting Started
The WedgeTM tracking device with internal cellular antenna Package also contains an external GPS antenna, zip
ties, and connectors.
Tools required performing the installation:
• Wire strippers and cutter
• Crimping tool
• Voltmeter
• Any screwdrivers or ratchets needed to gain access to the interior of the dashboard.
Locate a continuous source of power on the vehicle.
The WedgeTM requires a constant +12 VDC power source to operate properly. Consult the appropriate wiring
diagrams for each vehicle to nd a continuous power source. Alternately, you can use a voltmeter to nd a wire
that measures +12 VDC while the vehicle motor is off. Most continuous power lines in vehicles are RED or RED
and BLACK.
A. Find Constant power
B. Disconnect the vehicle’s battery
C. Cut and strip the vehicle’s constant power wire.
D. Strip the red wire on the tracker’s wiring harness.
E. Use barrel connector to connect the three wires.
F. Ground device to solid chasis ground.
G. Reconnect the vehicle’s battery.

GPS Antenna Installation and Placement
Testing the Tracker
Securing the Tracking Device
The WedgeTM requires the installation of an external GPS antenna. This antenna MUST be mounted to a metallic
surface in a location that provides a clear view of the sky. Metallic objects will block the GPS signal and severely
reduce tracker performance. Most vehicles have some sort of metallic support beam running inside of the
dashboard, so be careful not to place the antenna in a location where this support beam will block the GPS signal
from reaching the antenna. The preferred location for antenna placement is inside a pillar of the vehicle. A good
alternate location is inside the dashboard mounted on top of the metallic support beam or some other metallic
surface Be sure to secure the antenna with a zip tie.
Once all connections have been made, wrap any excess wiring and secure with one of the provided zip ties. Also,
secure the tracker with zip ties to ensure the device does not shift or become loose during vehicle operation.
The WedgeTM will automatically send an “Initial Install” location if the device is receiving a good cellular signal and
has a solid GPS lock. Access the device’s mapping page to see this message, or call the installer IVR line at 1-800-
672-7193. If the initial message is not on the mapping page, reposition the GPS antenna and/or tracking device
and request a locate to ensure the device is tracking. Also be sure to test all optional features that may have been
installed.
During power-up, all three LEDs will illuminate with solid indications. After the device has registered to the
cellular network and has obtained a GPS x (usually within 2 minutes), the LEDs will begin a RED, GREEN, BLUE
cycle to indicate normal operation.
LED Indications:
RED GREEN BLUE
Solid = Low Power Solid=Searching for Cellular Service Solid=Searching for GPS Fix
Blinking = Good Power Blinking=Cellular Service Blinking=GPS Fix Acquired
Blank = No Power Blank=No GPS Antenna Connected

Starter Disable Installation
To install the starter disable relay, you must locate the starter wire in the ignition switch harness in the vehicle.
The wire is usually one of the thickest wires in the ignition wire harness. The best way to locate the correct wire is
to probe the suspected starter wire with a voltmeter. The starter wire will be at 0 VDC when the key is not
inserted. Once the key is inserted and turned to the start position, the starter wire will be at approximately +12
VDC. When the engine is running and the key is returned to the ON position, the starter voltage will drop to 0
VDC.
Once you have located the correct wire, disconnect the car battery for safety, then cut the starter wire and
connect the RED wire of the starter disable relay to the ignition cylinder side of the starter wire, the WHITE wire of
the relay to the starter side of the starter wire, and the ORANGE wire on the relay to the GREEN wire from the
tracking device.
