Function, functional components and their effect
T e V2359j amp4ribbon microp one preamplifier enables t e connection of all passive transducers, suc
as ribbon, moving coil, carbon, piezo and crystal microp ones. Wit a continuously adjustable
preamplification in t e range of 26 dB to 59 dB (optionally up to 76 dB, see bulletin no. 005 on our
omepage at ttps://www.rogersc ult.com/downloads.p p) t e microp one signal is raised to t e
required line level.
A gain reduction of -15 dB (optionally -20dB) can be activated by a switc (pad -15 dB).
T is is followed by t e adaptation of t e load impedance by t e impedance controller (Z) in order to
determine t e frequency response and t us t e c aracter of t e sound transducer. T is unique continous
impedance matc ing in t e range from 150 o ms to 22 kO ms is a powerful tool for determination of t e
transfer function. W et er linearly optimized or to create a sound full of c aracter, t is controller can be
used in versatile ways.
T e V2359j amp4ribbon as t ree different filters to c ange t e frequency. To eliminate low-frequency
interference or to reduce t e bass, a ig pass (LF, fader below rig t) is activated wit a reduction of up to
-17 dB at 20 Hz. A Baxandall filter (HF, fader top rig t) wit +/- 12 dB at 9 kHz for ig frequencies and a
semi-parametric filter for t e mid frequencies. Wit t is mids filter (MF), t e frequency can be
continuously adjusted between 150 Hz to 3.5 kHz and t e level range from +/- 10 dB. T e c oice of t e
filter quality (Q) can be preselected by means of a t ree position toggle switc wit left stop 0.4 (wide),
center position 0.7 (narrow) and rig t stop variable by means of a trim potentiometer (trim Q, preset to 3
at factory) between 2.4 and 4. T e entire filter unit can be deactivated using t e (bypass filter) switc .
(+48 V) p antom power supply is an extension for t e use of active microp ones. W en t e p antom
power pressure switc is activated, t e impedance is fixed to a value of 2 kO m to protect t e microp one
electronics.
