4. Getting Started
4.1. Adjusting your DMX light panel(s)
In order to connect your DMX light panel(s) to the SkyBeast console, please follow these steps:
1. Attach the receiver(s) to your DMX light panel(s) and
plug DMX cable and USB power cable. (See the
picture on the right)
1. Ajust DMX settings on your DMX light panel(s)
If you are using ARRI SkyPanel(s), please make
settings on your Panel(s) as shown in the picture on
the right.
Make sure to set it on 24 Channels.
-If you are using more than one DMX panel, pay attention to set each panel on different
DMX channel. As SkyBest controls ARRI SkyPanel with 30 DMX channels, DMX channels
for SkyPanels should be set like this:
1. SkyPanel –channel 1
2. SkyPanel - channel 31
3. SkyPanel –channel 61
4. SkyPanel –channel 91
And so on…
-If you are using DMX panel(s) other than ARRI SkyPanel(s), pay attention that setting
DMX channel of each panel depends on how many channels it takes to control your DMX
light.
Senna daylight LighWall takes 1 DMX channel. Senna bi-colour LightWall takes 2 DMX
channels.
SkyBeast console allows control of 16 ARRI SkyPanels, or up to 128 Standard DMX
panels.

4.2. Getting SkyBeast console started:
To get your SkyBeast console started please follow these steps:
1. Attach the battery to the console. To do
that, you need to press and hold battery
safety holder to release the space for
battery.
2. Turn SkyBeast console ON using power
switch on the backside of console.
3. The display with show the following information:
IMMPORTANT: After you have turned the console ON, wait 10-15 seconds before you start using it.
This time is needed for the system to load all settings properly.
5. Setting the mode of DMX panel
5.1. Available modes
Different DMX light panels work in different modes. To be able to control your DMX light panel,
SkyBest console must be set on the mode that corresponds to the mode in which your DMX panel
works. SkyBeast console allows you to control the panels in following modes:
1. For ARRI SkyPanel with firmware 4 please choose Mode P30
2. For ARRI SkyPanel with firmware 3.1 you can choose modes: P1, P3, P16 (Rosco), P16 (Lee)
and P22.
3. For other DMX panels (including Senna Lighting) please choose Standard Mode.
5.2. How to set DMX mode
To set the mode of DMX panel you want to control on SkyBeast cosole, please follow the steps:
1. Press and hold Menu button until the display shows “DMX Menu”
2. Now press Menu button again shortly to enter DMX Menu. There are two options available in
DMX Menu: Standard or SkyPanel.

3. Use navigation buttons (General Master (-) or Mode Select (+)) to choose mode.
-If you are using DMX light with standard operational mode choose Standard. There are 8
DMX channels available for Standard light operations.
-If you are using ARRI Sky panel choose SKY Panel option.
4. To confirm your choice press Menu button again shortly.
5. Sky Panel option contains following modes: P1, P3, P16 (Rosco), P16 (Lee) and P22 (Effects),
P30. Use navigation buttons (General Master (-) or Mode Select (+)) to choose.
If you are using SkyPanel with Firmware 4 always choose P30.
6. To confirm your choice press Menu button again shortly.
7. The console will automatically exit the Menu.
If you want to exit the Menu without making any change, press shortly General
Master and Mode Select buttons together.
6. Operational modes in P30
SkyBeast console allows you to make adjustments of the following operational modes in P30:
CCT, HIS, RGBW, GEL SELECT, XY COORDINATES, EFFECTS
To choose operational mode you want to affect on, please follow the steps:
1. Press and hold Mode Select button.
2. While holding Mede Select button,
use 1. Channel Potentiometer to
navigate through these 6 available
modes, and 2. Channel
Potentiometer to navigate through
sub-modes ( in Gel select and
Effects). Your navigation will be
shown on the display.
3. When you have reached desirable
mode (and sub-mode), you can
release the Mode Select button.
4. You can now make adjustments in
the selected mode.
6.1. Adjusting operational modes in P30
When you have chosen the mode you need, you can make adjustments using Channel
potentiometers. The scheme below shows which potentiometers affect which option:
1. CCT
Channel potentiometer 1 –Volume
Channel potentiometer 2 –Colour temperature (2800K-10000K)
Channel potentiometer 3 –Green-magenta point
2. HSI
Channel potentiometer 1 –Volume
Channel potentiometer 3 –Hue
Channel potentiometer 4 –Saturation

3. RGBW
(colours can be mixed)

7. Memory presets
When you have adjusted the modes of your DMX panel you can store a preset.
There are 6 memory presets available for each of your DMX panels. To store a preset please follow
the steps:
1. Make all adjustments of operational modes
you want as described in Chapter 5.
2. Press and hold one of the memory buttons
until all memory buttons turn red.
3. Memory preset is now saved.
4. Now you can make different adjustments
of operational modes and save them by
pressing and holding other memory button
until it turns red. You can store up to 6
memory presets per panel.

5. To recall previously stored preset, press shortly the memory button on which you have
stored the preset. Memory button will turn green. Channel potentiometers will automatically
get into positions of recalled preset settings.
6. Fade speed between memory presets can be adjusted using Fade Speed knob except for Gel
select mode and Effects.
In order to set memory presets on another DMX panels, you need to switch to the other DMX panel
first. This action in described in Chapter 7.
6.1. Auto Memory recall
After you have stored the desired light presets, you can set the automatic memory recall of the
session of presets.
To set auto memory recall, please follow the steps:
1. Press and hold Menu button and while holding it press memory button with which you would
like to start the recall session. Red light on the memory button will turn on.
2. Now press memory button where the second wanted preset is stored. Green light on the
second memory button will turn on.
3. Repeat the step 2 until you have set all wanted memory presets in desired recall session.
Recall session can contain up to 12 presets (You can set the same light preset in session more
than once, except for the first memory preset you set as first in session)
4. Now you can release the Menu button.
5. Auto memory recall session is now stored.
IMPORTANT: Start pressing the memory buttons right after you have pressed Menu, otherwise you
will enter the Menu.
To activate Auto Memory Recall please follow the steps:
1. Press the Menu button shortly.
2. The panel will turn to the first stored memory preset, and then to each next added preset
and they will stop at the last memory preset stored in session.
3. Fade speed between recalled light presets can be adjusted with the Fade speed knob.
6.2. Memory Loop cycle
This option allows the system to constantly loop over the stored light presets in the order you have
set.
To set memory loop cycle option, you should follow the steps 1-5 in the charter 6.1. Auto Memory
Recall with one difference: make sure to set the same light preset as the first and the last in the
memory recall session!
Set as described, the light will keep looping the light preset session as long as you do not press the
Menu button shortly once again.
Fade speed between recalled light presets can be adjusted with the Fade speed knob.
6.3. Stobe
After you have made all adjustment on a DMX panel you can activate strobe. In order to do that,
please follow the steps:
1. Press shortly General Master button.

2. The LED bulb on the button will blink and the Strobe is active.
3. To adjust the speed of Strobe, use the Strobe Speed knob.
4. To deactivate Strobe, please press General Master button again shortly.
8. Navigation from one DMX panel to another
To navigate from one DMX panel to another, please follow the steps:
1. Press shortly buttons General Master and Mode
select together.
2. The number of the panel on display will start
blinking.
3. Use navigation buttons - General Master (-) and
Mode Select (+) until the desirable DMX panel
number is shown on the display.
4. To confirm your choice press buttons General
Master and Mode select at the same time again
shortly.
5. As you are now affecting other DMX panel Channel
potentiometers will automatically get into positions
which were set previously. (If this is not the first time you are adjusting settings of this
panel).
6. You can now choose and adjust different operational modes of other DMX panel, as
described in Chapter 5., and make memory presets as described in Chapter 6.
9. General Master Settings
General Master Settings affects all DMX panels you have connected to SkyBeast console. This option
enables you to:
Change volume of all DMX panels at the same time
Turn Stobe on all DMX panels
Turn Chasing lights option on
Recall memory positions (1-6) on all DMX panels at the same time
9.1. General volume control
In order to change volume on all DMX panels at the same time without entering in each panels
setting separately, please follow the steps:
1. Press and hold General Master button until
the LED bulb on the button turns ON.
2. Release General Master button.
3. Channel potentiometers 2-8 will go to 0
position and display will show percentage of
general volume that has been previous set.
(see the picture on the right)
4. Use Channel potentiometer 1 to
increase/decrease the volume of all DMX
panels that have volume control on DMX
channel 1

5. To exit General Master settings, press and hold
General Master button until the LED bulb on the
button turns OFF.
6. Now that you have set General volume, percentage of
general volume will be shown on display all the time
with red line.
9.2. General Strobe
In order to activate Strobe on all DMX panels at the same time, please follow the steps:
1. Press and hold General Master button until the LED bulb on the button turns ON.
2. Press General Master button again shortly.
3. LED bulb on General Master button will blink.
4. Strobe is activated.
5. To adjust the speed of Strobe, use the Strobe Speed knob.
6. To deactivate Strobe, please press General Master button again shortly.
7. To exit General Master settings, press and hold General Master button until the LED bulb on
the button turns OFF.
9.3. Chasing lights
In order to activate Chasing lights of all DMX panels, please follow the steps:
1. Make all desirable adjustments on all DMX panels.
2. Press and hold General Master button until the LED bulb on the button turns ON.
7. Release General Master button.
3. All panels will turn on.
4. Press Mode Select button shortly.
5. All panels will turn off.
6. Press Mode Select button shortly once again.
7. Chasing lights is active.
8. To adjust the speed of Chasing lights, use the Strobe Speed knob.
9. To exit General Master settings, press and hold General Master button until the LED bulb on
the button turns OFF.
9.4. General memory recall
To recall memory positions on all connected DMX panels at the same time, please follow the steps:
1. Enter General Master by pressing and holing General Master button until the LED bulb on the
button turns ON.
2. Press shortly desirable memory button (1-6).
3. Each DMX panel will turn to the memory preset you have previously saved on that memory
button. (For example, if you press memory button 1, all panels will load memory preset 1,
and so on)
4. Fade speed between memory presets can be adjusted using Fade Speed knob.
5. To exit General Master settings, press and hold General Master button until the LED bulb on
the button turns OFF.
