5
Safety
Intended use
The skates are designed exclusively for private use.
This means that the skates must be used only as an amateur sport activity,
not as professional use or as acrobatic skates for roller hockey or for
competition.
Using skates carries a relatively high risk of injury. Therefore users must
wear appropriate protective clothing, when using the skates.
We point out that even when wearing the appropriate protective clothing,
there is no 100% safety.
The skates correspond to class A for users weighing between 20 kg and 100
kg.
Users must use the skates only as described in these istructions for use. Any
other use is considered as not in accordance with the intended use and can
cause material damage or even injury to people. Skates are not children's
toy.
The manufacturer or retailer has not responsability for damage resulting from
incorrect or improper use.
Safety Notes
Please read the following safety notes carefully. Explain all safety issues to
children using the skates for the first time.
Choking Hazard!
If children play with wrapping film, they can get caught and suffocate.
- Do not let children play with packaging film.

6
DANGER of injury!
Use not in accordance with the intended use could cause damage to the
skates.
- If the user is a child, supervision is necessary while using the skates.
- Users must be familiar with the safety instructions before first use.
- Users must be safe on in line skates and know how to brake.
- Users of these skates must wear proper knee, elbow and wrist protectors
and a helmet.
- It is necessary that users of skates have reflective stripes on their clothes at
sunset or in the dark, or wear reflective safety vests
- Do not make changes to the skates which could affect safety.
- Replace damaged or worn parts with original spare parts.
- If necessary, consult a specialized technician if you wish to replace wheels,
brakes or ball bearings.
- Before each use, check that all axle screws and threads on the axles are
tightened. Repeated loosening and tightening, as well as vibrations, can
loosen the axles screws, threads and the frame plate.
Replace the axles if necessary.
- Before each new use, make sure that the rolling surfaces of the wheels do
not have sharp edges or edges or stumbling points.
- Check the skates before and after each use to check for signs of wear and
damage.

7
Danger of damage!
- Improper use can damage the skates.
- The pads must be used only on flat, clean and dry surfaces, which are also
free of obstacles such as stones and branches.
Make sure never to place the skates on or near hot surfaces such as stove.
- The pads must no longer be used if their plastic components are cracked or
cracked, or if they have become deformed. Replace damaged components
only with the appropriate original spare parts.
- When using skates, comply with road traffic regulations. Make sure that the
laws of the place where you intend to skate, allow such use.
Generally skating rinks or cycle paths are suitable places.
In case of use of reserved public roads, it is necessary to have a permit from
the municipality for such use.
• Before using the skates on the road you must be sure and able to move
alone and safety on the road.
• Consider other road users such as pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.
It is necessary to go to no traffic areas and far from busy roads.
• By inspecting and regularly maintaining the skates, they increase the
service life of the pads and contribute to safe use
Preparation
Check the skates and equipment
Danger of damage!
Carelessly opening the packaging with a sharp knife or other sharp objects
can damage the skates.
Be very careful when opening the packaging.
1. Remove the skates from the packaging.
2. Check if the supply is complete. (Fig. A)
3. Check that the skates or single parts have not been damaged. In this case,
do not use the skates. Contact the manufacturer or a workshop via customer
service address listed on the warranty card.

8
Adjusting the size of the boot
SKIROAD SKATES are projected to be used with alpine ski boots.
It is not allowed to use them without this type of boots.
The user must ensure that the type of his boots are compatible with the hooks
provided
It is possibile to adjust the position of the metal hooks according to the
lenght of the skiboot of the user.
Due to the directional use of the skates ,the hook lever must be applied to the
toe of the boots. The opposite is not possible! (Fig. B)
To adjust the size for the first time it is advisable not to wear the boots but to
take one in a hand and place it on top of a skate.
1. Widen the lower part of the metal hook on one side until it comes out of
the plate hole, also widen the other part so as to free the hook from the plate
on both side. (Fig. C)
2. Place the boot over the center of the plate.
3. Move the rear hook to the hole closest to the heel of the boot.
4. Move the front hook (the one with the lever )to the hole closest to the tip
so that when the lever is in horizontal position it touches the toe of the boots.
(Fig. D)
5. Place the base of the lever over the of the boot and push it upwards so that
it passes the dead center with a little effort, and goes to test on the boot itself.
(Fig. E)
If it takes too much effort to raise the lever and the boot hull seems deformed
due to too much pressure on the hooks, it means that the adjustment of the
hooks must be widened.
6. Check that the boot is firmly on the skate, otherwise the adjustment of the
hooks must be tightened.
7. Repeat the whole procedure also for the other pad.
Wear your skates
1. Put both ski boots on your feet
2. Sit on a chair with your skates close to your feet.
3. Repeat the previous operations from point 2 onwards but this time wearing
the boots, making sure that the position of the boot is also in the center of
the plate from the lateral point of view (right -left) .

9
Remove your skates
Sit on a chair first release the lever of a skate, release the boot and place
your foot on the ground and then do the same thing with the other foot.
Use skates
Risk of injury!
Use not in accordance with the intended use could cause damage to the
pads.
- The user must adapt the skating speed to his own abilities.
- The skates must be used only on flat, clean and dry surfaces, which are
also free of obstacles as stones or branches.
- The skates must be used wearing the appropriate knees, elbows and wrists
protections and a helmet.
- At sunset or in the dark, the user must wear clothes with reflective strikes or
reflective safety vests.
- Practice performing regular movements, curving and braking and only after
that, increasing speed.

10
Respect the general information
It is necessary to give assistance to the users in the first experiments on
skates and explain the following instructions to them:
− Put the skates correctly before moving
− Make sure that the ski boots are well tied to the skates.
− Ski boots must be well fastened
− First, learn to maintain balance on a speed-reducing surface such as carpet
− Practice on clean, level asphalt until you have a quite sense of balance.
Look for a traffic- free area, if it is possible without other road users.
− Practice curves only when they can safely control forward travel.
Learning to use skates
It is possible to learn to use skates with these following tips:
1. Stand up straight, with your feet parallel and distant each other about one
hand width, bring your arms slightly forward and slightly bend your knees.
2. Carefully shift body weight onto the sole of the foot while using it.
3. Align one foot slightly outward and lift it slightly.
4. Repeat the same with the other foot to find the pace of advance.
5. To cope with the curves ,bend the skates inward or outward using your
hips and knees. Try standing still first.
6. In curves, lean slightly inward.
7. Brake in time with the brake to remain standing (see chapter “Braking with
the brake”). The higher the speed, the greater the stopping distance.
First, practice with your feet outward because it is the correct moving position
Braking with the brake
Risk of injury!
Skating without being able to brake properly can lead to very dangerous
situations and road accidents .Users can be seriously injured and endanger
others.
− Make sure that children who use skates in road traffic, know how to brake
safely.
− User can skate on the road only if he is able to brake safely.

11
Some models of SKIROAD skates are not equipped with a brake.
To use these models it is necessary to know well the skating technique and to
be able to brake without using the brake.
This type of technique means advanced skills that cannot be taught here.
Therefore we recommend attending a skating course if you are interested in
these models.
To brake safely (only for models equipped with brake):
1. Push the skate on which the brake is fixed forward and move the weight of
the body on the leg at the same time. If necessary, use your arms to help
maintain balance.
2. Carefully lift the tip of the skate on which the brake is fixed.
The brake is now on the floor and will automatic slow down. In this phase the
deceleration tends to disrupt the balance and to widen the legs, for this
reason it is necessary to contract the muscles to prevent the legs from
moving away .
3. To brake quickly, carefully apply more pressure on the brake and if
necessary shift the weight of the body slightly forward. The more pressure
applied to the brake, the greater the braking force. Always start with light
pressure to brake.
Do not make sudden movements, so as not to lose your balance or stop
inadvertently.
To learn other forward and brake techniques without using the brake, it is
recommended to attend a skating course.
Maintenance
Risk of injury!
If the skates are not regularly handled, the axle screws can rotate in the
threads while skating and cause serious accidents. Users are seriously
injured and endanger others.

12
− Tighten all axle screws (10) and axle threads (12) at regular intervals, so
that the rollers (5) do not loosen unexpectedly.
− Remove course dirt, such as small stones or leaves, that can get caught in
the wheels, at the latest after each use.
Disassemble and fit the wheels
If you need to change wheels, make sure that the new wheels contain new
ball bearings and that the wheels size is correct.
To Remove the wheels (see Fig. I):
Use a 4 mm Allen key to unscrew the screw of the axle (1) of the wheel (2) to
be replaced.
Hold the frame in place with one hand and the Allen key with the other hand,
So that you can completely unscrew the axle screw, remove the axle screw
from its seat. The wheel can now be removed.
To assemble the wheels, lift all the elements and insert the wheel in the
reverse order. Orienting with Fig. L.
This is the right way to remove and to assemble the wheels correctly.
Removing and installing ball bearings
The skates are equipped with two precision bearings (4) and a spacer (5), for
each wheel. Ball bearings can be removed but not disassembled.
The ball bearings are internally filled with grease and dealer, require no
maintenance and are not suitable for being oiled or lubricated externally.
If the ball bearings are rattling or not functioning properly, they must be
replaced with new equivalent bearings.
To remove the ball bearings from the rollers( see Fig. M):
1. Remove the wheels whose ball bearings you want to replace (see chapter
“Disassemble and fit the wheels”)
2. Hold the wheel in a hand so that the bearings are free.
3. Hold the wheel firmly and insert a 4 mm Allen key into the hole, then pry
vigorously by turning the wrist to remove the bearing from its seat (6).
The ball bearing will come out of the wheel upwards and the spacer (5) will be
free to come out without restrictions.

13
4. Turn the wheel and remove the second ball bearing using the key E by
pushing on the bearing. When the second ball bearing comes out the
procedure has ended correctly.
.
Assembling the bearings in the wheels
To insert again the ball bearings (see Fig. L and M):
1. To insert the ball bearings, place the wheel on a solid surface and push
just a ball bearing carefully. The ball bearings must engage and must no
longer protrude from the roller.
2. Turn the wheel to the other side and insert the spacer.
3. Carefully place the second ball bearing on the spacer and push it into the
roller. The ball bearings must engage and must no longer potrude from the
roller. In this way the ball bearings of a wheel have been disassembled and
inserted again correctly .It is now possible to assemble the wheel(see
chapter “Disassemble and fit the wheels “).

14
Cleaning and care
Risk of damage!
Improper use can damage the skates.
− Do not use aggressive detergents, brushes with metal and nylon bristles,
pointed or metallic tools such as knives, rigid scrapes and similar. They could
damage the surfaces.
− Clean the skates,if necessary, with a camp lint-free cloth.
Storage
Skates have to be protected from the weather and have to be store in a dust-
free and dry place.
