FEATURES

1 Read all instructions carefully before using the appliance.
2 This appliance is intended for household use only.
It is not suitable for commercial use such as staff
kitchen areas and other working environments.
3 Ensure that the appliance is always placed on a firm and flat
surface, away from any edges of the worktop. Do not place
the appliance onto a metal tray or metal surface whilst in use.
Do not place the appliance on, or near, a hot gas or electric
burner or in a heated oven. Do not operate the appliance with
wet hands or barefeet.
4 Keep the appliance and mains cable away from the edges of
worktops and out of reach from children. Route the cable so
it does not overhang, and cannot be tripped over or caught.
5 Do not let the cable run across an open space, such as
between a low socket and a table, or across any hot area, such
as a cooker. Heat may damage the mains cable.
6 The connections on both sides of the mains cable (the
appliance and socket) should never be strained. If the mains
cable is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified person
or service to avoid any hazards.
7 Do not use the appliance in a bathroom, near
water, or outdoors. Do not immerse any of the
parts (appliance, mains cable, plug) in water or
other liquids, this is to protect against fire, electric
shock and personal injury.
8 Do not use the appliance if it is damaged or
malfunctions. Do not leave the appliance unattended
whilst in use. Use and store it out of reach from
children.
9 This appliance must not be operated by an external timer or a
remote control system.
10 SQ Professional Ltd may not be held liable for eventual
damages to persons, animals or objects caused by incorrect
installation or deriving from improper, erroneous or
unreasonable use.
11 The surfaces of the toaster should always be kept dry. Before
drying, disconnect the power supply; ensure that the toaster
is completely dry before you reconnect it to power supply.
12 To remove the bread from the toaster, ensure that the toaster
has stopped heating, then push the loading levers up and
hold it in place to remove the bread. We recommend using
tongs as the bread will be very hot.
13 Do not move the toaster when it is switched on.
14 Do not switch the toaster on unless it contains at least one slice
of bread.
15 Bread may burn. Therefore toasters must not be
used near or below curtains and other combustible
materials.
16 Always close the crumb trays

before you switch the toaster on.
17 Avoid contact with toaster surfaces as they will
become very hot.
18 Loading levers

should never be forced up, as this may
cause damage to the automated release mechanism. When
toasting is finished, the loading levers

will release
automatically.
19 Unplug the toaster from the socket and let it cool down
completely before cleaning or removing the crumb trays

20 Ensure that the toaster has completely cooled down before
cleaning and storing away. Keep the toaster, cable, and plug
away from sources of heat. Store in a dry place.
21 Do not use the toaster for any purpose other than
toasting bread.

OPERATING YOUR TOASTER
ONLY CONNECT THE UNIT TO A PROPERLY INSTALLED AND EARTHED
POWER SOCKET. NEVER LEAVE THE TOASTER UNSUPERVISED WHILE IT
IS HEATING.
1 To select a preferred toasting level, turn the browning
control

clockwise from the lowest level 1 to the darkest
level 7. If you are not sure, start with a lower level.
2 Insert one slice of bread per slot and lower loading levers
1
until it clicks into place. The two loading levers on the toaster
can operate independently, therefore allowing you the option
to toast two slices at a time or four slices at one time.
3 The toaster will begin to heat and then switches off automatically
when toasting is completed. Following this, the toasted bread
will pop up automatically.
4 Allow the toaster to cool down completely after use and
before cleaning and storing.
5 To use the special functions, press the relevant button after
lowering the loading lever

. The corresponding LED signals
its activation:

REHEAT: to warm up already toasted bread.

CANCEL:to stop the toasting procedure manually.

DEFROST: to defrost and toast frozen bread.
CLEANING
BEFORE CLEANING, ALWAYS CHECK THAT THE TOASTER IS SWITCHED
OFF AND HAS COMPLETELY COOLED DOWN.
1 Only use a slightly damp cloth to clean the outside of the
toaster unit. Then dry with a soft cloth to avoid scratches on
the surface.
2 Pull the crumb trays

out, remove any crumbs, wipe with a
damp cloth, dry and push them back in. Crumb trays
6
can be
washed with warm water and mild detergent or in dish washing
machine. Ensure that the crumb trays
6
are completely dry
and closed before operating the toaster. Clean the crumb
trays regularly as the dry crumbs may burn.
WIRING
This appliance must be earthed.
To replace the plug, t the green-
yellow wire to or E, blue wire
to Nand the brown wire to L. Fit
the cord grip. If in doubt, call a
qualied electrician. Do not use a
non-wireable plug unless the fuse
cover is in place. If you remove the
plug, dispose of it. This appliance is
fitted with a 10A BS1362 fuse in a 10A BS 1363 plug.
Do not use a non-wireable plug unless the fuse cover
is in place.

they will not be able to help you without it. If you are advised to
return the product to us, pack it carefully, include a note with your
name, address, day phone number, and description of the problem.
