CONTROLLER MOUNTING:
The controller enclosure must be f rmly attached to a nearby sol d f xture by e ther the two mount ng lugs or d rect
attachment though the controller. If mount ng through the controller ensure the power cord s d sconnected from the
ma ns supply then remove the enclosure front cover by turn ng the four corner locks so each arrow po nts to the ‘O’
marked on the front cover. Insert two mount ng screws d agonally through the oval holes n the enclosure, ref t front
cover and turn the four corner locks to the ‘I’ pos t on.
The power cable s 1.8m long and should be plugged d rectly nto a general power outlet, not nto an extens on lead.
CIRCULATING PUMP:
The solar c rculat ng pump plugs nto the r ght hand 240Vac socket marked as SOLAR PUMP. The left hand 240Vac
socket marked as AUXILIARY suppl es 240Vac at all t mes. The max mum comb ned current s 10 AMPS 2400W.
TEMPERATURE SENSORS:
The solar pool sensor must be f tted nto the suct on l ne of the solar boost pump, preferably n a pos t on out of d rect
sunl ght. The aux pool sensor must be f tted nto the suct on l ne before the pool pump (f ltrat on pump). It s
recommended that a 14.5mm hole be dr lled n the PVC p pe, th s can be carr ed out us ng a Dontek PD01 gr nd ng dr ll
or a small p lot hole can be dr lled and a 14.0mm dr ll-b t used sp nn ng n a counter clockw se d rect on to m n m ze the
chance of shatter ng p pe. Insert the grommet nto the p pe and gently push n the black sensor barb. The green solar
pool sensor plug s to be f tted to the plug socket marked POOL. The aux pool sensor plugs nto the socket marked
RELAY1 (Black to NO, Wh te str pe to C).
Roof sensor must be f tted nto a small p ece of rubber collector mater al away from the ma n collector but on the same
aspect. Keep n m nd that t s of the utmost mportance to keep the roof sensor cable as short as poss ble as th s w ll
ass st n the longev ty of the sensor and controller n the event of electr cal storm act v ty and power surges. Sensor
cables must not be run parallel to power cables and run lengths should be less than 50m. Cable t es should be used to
fasten the sensor cable to the cold water nlet p pe mak ng sure that the t es are approx mately 10mm from PVC
f tt ngs. Cable t es should be t ghtened only f rm, over t ghten ng can cause breaks n the outer PVC f not careful. If the
cable s to be run under ground a condu t must be used to protect the w re and there s to be no cable jo ns w th n,
condu t ends must be sealed to prevent water ngress. Any excess cable should be removed and re-fitted ensuring that
the wire ends are tinned with solder. The sensor plug s to be f tted to the r ght hand socket marked ROOF.
FLOW SWITCH:
The flow sw tch must be f tted after the pool/spa valve nto the pool return l ne, the arrow on the flow sw tch nd cates
the d rect on of water flow. The green plug w ll go nto the FLOW socket on the controller.
HEATER INTERLOCK:
The heater nterlock cable connects n-ser es to the ex st ng nternal flow or pressure sw tch ns de the heater,
connect on var es depend ng on model, contact heater manufacturer for deta ls, max mum sw tch ng capab l ty of the
controller s 5 AMP at 32VAC MAX! If the heater exceeds th s then the 240V sw tch ng opt on s to be f tted.
The green plug on the heater nterlock cable connects to the socket marked RELAY2 (NO/C).
OPTION - IHP:
An opt onal IHP connects to the DATA socket of the controller; ensure to match the colours to avo d damage. Do not
run near 240Vac w r ng.
DESCRIPTION:
The Solar s for heat ng the pool only and w ll operate as a standalone system. If water flow s detected by the flow
sw tch then the aux pool temperature sensor s used; and f there s no solar ga n the aux heater w ll be enabled f
w th n the selected t meframe of heat demand and only f the pool temperature s below the aux l m t sett ng.
If there s solar ga n ava lable then the heater w ll run n conjunct on w th the solar but w ll turn off when the roof
temperature exceeds 15°C above the solar temperature l m t sett ng. When the flow sw tch detects that water flow has
stopped go ng nto the pool then the heater s enabled to heat the spa to the h gher temperature l m t as set at the aux
heater.
