Per il rispetto della norme vigenti e, soprat-
tutto, per la vostra sicurezza, prima di ope-
rare sull’apparato, provvedete tassativa-
mente a disconnettere dalla presa di rete il
cordone di alimentazione.
DISIMBALLO
Per estrarre l'apparecchio dalla scatola, si
consiglia di appoggiarla a terra, afferrate
l'amplificatore con entrambe le mani e tira-
te lentamente verso l'alto sino alla comple-
ta fuoriuscita dell'apparecchio.
Appoggiatelo quindi su di una superficie
piana, togliete gli elementi in plastica e sfi-
late il sacchetto di protezione.
Il cordone di alimentazione ed il teleco-
mando in dotazione sono contenuti in due
scatoline di cartone incassate lateralmente
all'imballo.
Si consiglia di conservare sia la scatola che
le protezioni interne di polistirene, che
garantiscono una protezione ottimale per
ulteriori eventuali trasporti dell'apparec-
chio.
DOTAZIONE
All'interno dell'imballo troverete oltre a
questo manuale d'uso, i seguenti compo-
nenti:

• Telecomando dedicato
• Cordone di rete a norma IEC
CONNESSIONE ALLA RETE
L'unità ha in dotazione un cordone di rete
separato, dotato ad un estremo di una presa
a norme IEC, e dall'altro di una spina tede-
sca "schuko" da 10A. Synthesis si riserva
il diritto di fornire altre versioni adatte
al mercato di riferimento.
Prima di inserire la presa IEC nella relativa
vaschetta incassata posta nel pannello
posteriore, controllate che l'interruttore di
accensione sia spento.
L’unità è regolata internamente per essere
connessa ad una rete di alimentazione con
tensione nominale come riportato nella tar-
ghetta posta nella parte posteriore dell’am-
plificatore.
Per connetterlo a tensioni diverse richiedete
l'intervento di un centro di assistenza

CONNESSIONE AGLI ALTRI COM-
PONENTI
La connessione con altri componenti non
comporta particolari vincoli, se non quello
di utilizzare cavi e connettori di qualità ade-
guata, al fine di non sminuire le qualità
sonore di questo prodotto. Si consiglia di
tenere i cavi di segnale quanto più possibile
lontano da quelli di potenza e d’antenna,
per evitare interferenze.
POSIZIONAMENTO
La dissipazione di calore prodotta sia dalle
valvole che dai componenti interni viene
facilitata sfruttando i fenomeni convettivi
dell'aria calda, prelevata da sotto l'apparec-
chio e fatta fluire attraverso le aperture
superiori.
Grazie a questa soluzione non è necessario
prevedere un ampio spazio libero laterale,
ma è bene che sopra e sotto l'amplificatore
rimanga un certo spazio libero per consen-
tire un normale circolo di aria.
E’ bene tenere presente quanto segue:
* Non inserire oggetti al di sotto dell’uni-
tà
* Non bloccare le fessure di ventilazione
sotto l’unità
* Lasciare almeno 30 cm liberi tutto
intorno l’unità
CONNESSIONE E CONTROLLI
Pannello posteriore
1) Uscita DIFFUSORE DESTRO
Coppia di uscite di potenza con morsetti a
vite. Il morsetto rosso va collegato al termi-
nale positivo del diffusore, il nero al negati-
vo. Attenzione a non cortocircuitare i termi-
nali per evitare danni all’apparecchio.
2) Ingresso S/PDIF
Ingresso audio digitale di tipo elettrico, col-
legare esclusivamente ad una sorgente digi-
tale con uscita dedicata quale lettore CD o
DVD. Supporta formati PCM 32-192KHz,
16-24bit stereo.
3) Ingresso USB
Ingresso USB, consente di utilizzare l'am-
plificatore come una scheda audio di alta
qualità. Compatibile con Windows XP o
versioni successive e Mac OS 9.1 o versio-
ni successive. Supporta dati audio fino a 16
bit 48 KHz stereo.
4-5-6-7) Ingressi Linea
Ingresso linea sbilanciato, tipo RCA, sele-
zionabile tramite l’omonimo tasto posto sul
frontale dell'apparecchio. Vi può essere col-
legata qualunque sorgente con livello di
tensione nominale superiore a 100mV.
8) Uscita PRE OUT
Uscita di linea variabile sbilanciata, tipo
RCA. Il guadagno massimo è di circa 2
volte in tensione. E’ possibile collegarvi un
altro amplificatore o un subwoofer attivo.
9) Uscita DIFFUSORE SINISTRO
Coppia di uscite di potenza con morsetti a
vite. Il morsetto rosso va collegato al termi-
nale positivo del diffusore, il nero al negati-
vo. Attenzione a non cortocircuitare i termi-
nali per evitare danni all’apparecchio.
10) Presa di rete con fusibile e interrutto-
re
Si tratta di una vaschetta incassata a stan-
dard IEC, in cui può essere connesso qua-
lunque cordone rispondente lo stesso stan-
dard, purché con portata di almeno 10A.
Incorpora il fusibile che protegge i circuiti
elettrici. In caso di bruciatura senza appa-
renti ragioni non sostituitelo, ma portate

TROUBLESHOOTING

l’apparecchio ad un centro assistenza.
L’interruttore generale permette di spegnere
totalmente l’apparecchio quando si prevede
di non utilizzarlo per un lungo periodo.
Pannello anteriore
1) Pulsante di accensione / LED stand-by
Serve ad accendere e spegnere l’apparec-
chio. La spia si illumina quando l’unità è
alimentata e si trova in stand-by. La funzio-
ne del tasto è replicata sul telecomando in
dotazione.
2) Volume
Ruotando in senso orario la manopola il
volume aumenta, viceversa in senso antio-
rario il volume diminuisce. Tale controllo
può essere effettuato mediante telecomando
in dotazione premendo i pulsanti con indi-
cazione volume.
3-4-5-6-7-8) Selettore degli ingressi
Serie di 6 pulsanti. Ad ogni voce indicata
corrisponde il relativo ingresso. Le spie
sopra i tasti indicano il canale selezionato.
Il lampeggio della spia indica che è stata
attivata la funzione mute dal telecomando.
9) Ricevitore telecomando
Finestra semitrasparente. Nasconde il sen-
sore ricevitore ad infrarosso del telecoman-
do. Evitare di interporre ostacoli tra questa
fessura ed il telecomando per non diminui-
re la distanza utile di azione.
TELECOMANDO
1) Emettitore infrarosso
Emettitore infrarosso del telecomando.
Direzionare verso il ricevitore dell’amplifi-
catore.
2) Tasti funzione
Con il telecomando è possibile controllare
le principali funzioni dell’unità:
STANDBY accende e spegne l’apparecchio
VOLUME regola il livello d’ascolto
MUTE silenzia o ripristina il segnale
SELEZIONE INGRESSI (sequenziale)
3) Vano batteria
Se le batterie sono esaurite, è possibile
accedere al vano presente nel lato posterio-
re togliendo le 4 viti di chiusura.
Le batterie utilizzate sono 2 x CR2032.
RISCALDAMENTO
Nei primi 30 secondi circa dall’accensione,
è automaticamente attivata la funzione di
pre-riscaldamento e i led di selezione degli
ingressi si accendono in maniera sequenzia-
le. Durante questa fase è attivo il Mute, per-
tanto non si udirà alcun suono dai diffusori.
Le migliori performance sonore si ottengo-
no dopo almeno 30 minuti di utilizzo.
Front panel
1) Power switch / Stand-by LED
Use this to power up and shut down the
unit. It is lit when the unit is powered and in
stand-by mode. This function is replicated
on the remote controller.
2) Volume
Turn the knob in a clockwise direction to
increase the volume, turn in an anti-clock-
wise direction to reduce the volume. This
can also be controlled using the remote con-
troller, with volume keys.
3-4-5-6-7-8) Input selector keys
Array of six keys. Each name corresponds
to a relative input. LED’s over the keys
indicate the selected input. Blinking LED’s
indicate that the mute option is activated by
the remote control.
9) Remote IR receiver
Semi-transparent window. Houses the
infrared receiver for the remote controller.
Placing obstacles between this window and
the remote control will decrease the usable
distance or block it completely.
REMOTE CONTROL
1) Infrared emitter
Direct the Infrared emitter of the remote
controller at amplifiers IR receiver.
2) Function keys
With the remote control it is possible to
control the main functions of the unit:
STANDBY turns the appliance on and off
VOLUME adjusts the listening level
MUTE mutes or restores the signal
INPUT SELECTION (sequential)
3) Battery holder
If battery are exhausted, it is possible to
replace them removing the 4 screws on rear
side and then opening the cover. Battery
type are 2 x CR2032.
WARM-UP
For the first 30 seconds after power-up, pre-
heating function is automatically activated
and input LEDs light up sequentially.
During this time, Mute is active, so that you
will not hear music from loudspeaker.
However best music performances will be
obtained after at least 30 minutes from
power-on.

RISOLUZIONE DEI PROBLEMI It is good to keep in mind the following:

CONNECTIONS AND CONTROLS
Rear panel
1) RIGHT SPEAKER output
Pair of power outputs with screw terminals.
The red terminal must be connected to the
positive terminal of the speaker, the black to
the negative. Be careful not to short-circuit
the terminals to avoid damage to the device.
2) S/PDIF Input
Electric type digital audio input, connect
only to a digital source with dedicated out-
put such as CD or DVD player. Support
PCM 32-192KHz, 16-24bit stereo formats.
3) USB Input
USB input, this allows you to use the ampli-
fier as a high quality sound card.
Compatible with Windows XP or newer and
Mac OS 9.1 or newer. Supports audio data
up to 16bit 48KHz stereo.
4-5-6-7) Line Inputs
Unbalanced line input, RCA type, selec-
table using the homonymous button on the
front of the device. Any source with a rated
voltage level higher than 100mV can be
connected to it.
8) PRE OUT connection
Unbalanced variable line output, RCA type.
The maximum gain is approximately 2
times in voltage. It is possible to connect
another amplifier or an active subwoofer.
9) LEFT SPEAKER output
Pair of power outputs with screw terminals.
The red terminal must be connected to the
positive terminal of the speaker, the black to
the negative. Be careful not to short-circuit
the terminals to avoid damage to the device.
10) Power inlet with fuse and switch
It is an IEC standard built-in tray, into
which any cord meeting the same standard
can be connected, as long as it has a capac-
ity of at least 10A. Incorporates the fuse
that protects the electrical circuits. In the
event of a burn for no apparent reason, do
not replace it, but take the appliance to a
service center.
The main switch allows you to completely
turn off the appliance when you plan not to
use it for a long time.

be plugged into the household wall outlet
and to other components of your hi-fi sys-
tem without the need for internal settings.

INSIDE THE UNIT MUST BE PER-
FORMED BY SYNTHESIS DEALER
OR CERTIFIED SERVICE CENTRE.
To ensure your safety, always disconnect
the power cord from the main power line
before working on this equipment.
UNPAKING
To remove the equipment from its shipping
box, open and place it on the floor; remove
the polystyrene cover and take the unit with
both hands; pull it gently upwards until the
unit has cleared the box. Now place the
unit on a flat surface, slip off the clear plas-
tic bag. For the safety of children and pets,
only discard plastic bags in the correct man-
ner. The power cord included with your unit
is contained in the carton board box fitted in
the polystyrene cover. We recommend that
you keep the original shipping box and a
polystyrene covers, these guarantee optimal
protection if you need to transport your
equipment.

In addition to this manual, your Integrated
amplifier box includes the following mate-
rial:
• ACTION integrated amplifier
• Remote control and batteries
• Power cord, meeting IEC specification
POWER LINE REQUIREMENTS
The unit is supplied with a separate power
cord, fitted at one end with an IEC standard
socket, and with a 10 A German "schuko"
plug on the other. Synthesis reserves the
right to supply other versions suitable for
the reference market.
Before inserting the IEC socket into its
recessed socket on the rear panel, check that
the power switch is turned off. The unit is
internally regulated to be connected to a
power supply with rated voltage as shown
on the plate located on the rear of the ampli-
fier.
To connect it to different voltages, request
the intervention of a SYNTHESIS
service center.
CONNECTING COMPONENTS
Connections with the rest of an audio sys-
tem do not have special limitations. Be sure
to use adequate cables and connectors, to
not degrade the high performances of this
equipment. We suggest to put line-level
analog cables far from any other power or
antenna connection to avoid possible noise.
PLACEMENT
The dissipation of generated heat by the
vacuum tubes and internal electronic com-
ponents is facilitated by taking advantage of
the convective currents created by hot air,
taking in fresh air from below the unit and
directing it upwards through the cooling
apertures on the top panel. This approach
limits the clearance required on the sides of
the unit but still requires an ample amount
of free space on the top and on the bottom
of the amplifier to allow the air to free cir-
culate.

General precautions
* The ventilation holes are not covered
* Air is allowed to circulate freely around
the equipment.
* It is on a vibration-free surface.
* It will not be exposed to interference
from an external source.
* It will not be exposed to excessive heat,
cold, moisture or dust.
* It will not be exposed to direct sunlight
* It will not be exposed to electrostatic
discharges
If a foreign body or water does enter the
equipment, contact your nearest dealer or
service center.
Do not pull out the plug by pulling on the
mains lead, hold the plug.
It is advisable when leaving the house, or
during a thunderstorm, to disconnect the
equipment from the mains supply.
