Warning! R ead all instructions. F ailure to follow all instructions listed below may result in
electric shock , fire and/or serious injury. The term “power tool” in all of the warnings listed
below refers to your mains operated (corded) power tool or battery operated (cordless)
power tool. Save these instructions!
1) W o rk a rea
a. K eep work area clean and well lit. C luttered and dark areas invite accidents.
b. D o not operate power tools in ex plosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liq uids, gasses or dust. P ower tools create spark s which may ignite the
dust of fumes.
c. K eep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. D istractions can
cause you to lose control.
2) E lectrica l s a fety
a. P ower tool plugs must match the outlet. N ever modify the plug in any way. D o not use
any adapter plugs which earthed (grounded) power tools. U nmodified plugs and mat-
ching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock .
b. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ran-
ges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is ear-
thed or grounded.
c. D o not ex pose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk of electric shock .
d. D o not abuse the cord. N ever use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the
power tool. K eep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. D amaged or
entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock .
e. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an ex tension cord suitable for outdoor
use. U se of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock . Always
use tool in conjunction with a residual circuit break er device.
3) P ers o n a l s a fety
a. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power
tool. D o not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alco-
hol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in
serious personal injury.
b. U se safety eq uipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety eq uipment such as dust
mask , non-sk id safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate con-
ditions will reduce personal injuries.
c. Avoid accidental starting. E nsure the switch is in the off position before plugging in.
C arrying power tools with your finger on the switch or plugging in power tools that
have the switch on invites accidents.
d. R emove any adjusting k ey or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a
k ey left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
e. D o not overreach. K eep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better
control of the power tool in unex pected situations.
f. D ress properly. D o not wear loose clothing or jewellery. K eep your hair, clothing and
gloves away from moving parts. L oose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in
moving parts.

g. If devices are provided for the connection of dust ex traction and collection facilities,
ensure these are connected and properly used. U se of these devices can reduce dust
related haz ards.
h. U se clamps or a vice to hold work . It’s safer than using your hand and it frees both
hands to operate tool.
4) P o w er to o l u s e a n d ca re
a. D o not force the power tool. U se the correct power tool for your application. The cor-
rect power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b. D o not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that
cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c. D isconnect the plug from the power source before mak ing any adjustments, changing
accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk
of starting the power tool accidentally.
d. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar
with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. P ower tools are
dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e. Maintain power tools. C heck for misalignment or binding of moving parts, break age of
parts and any other condition that may affect the power tools operation. If damaged,
have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly main-
tained power tools.
f. K eep cutting tools sharp and clean. P roperly maintained cutting tools with sharp cut-
ting edges are less lik ely to bind and are easier to control.
g. U se the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc., in accordance with these instructi-
ons and in the manner intended for the particular type of power tool, tak ing into
account the work ing conditions and the work to be performed. U se of the power tool
for operations different from intended could result in haz ardous situation.
h. D amaged switches must be replaced at a customer service repair centre. D o not use
power tools that cannot be switched on and off.
i. D o not leave power tools unattended while they are switched on. Always switch off
the tool and wait until it has come to a full standstill before leaving.
j. If the mains cable has been damaged, it must be replaced with a special mains cable.
These can be obtained from the manufacturer or the manufacturer's customer service
department. The mains cable may only be replaced by the manufacturer, the manu-
facturer's customer service department or eq ually q ualified persons.
5 ) S erv ice
a. P lease use a q ualified ex pert who uses original replacement parts to repair your
power tool. This will ensure proper functioning of the power tool.
b. C aution! The use of any accessories or additional tools other than those recommen-
ded in this manual may lead to an increased risk of injury. nly use original replace-
ment parts.

Mains p ower
• When using this device, we strongly recommend using a leak age current protection
device (R C D - R esidual C urrent D evice) of no more than 30 mA at the power sock et.

• All electrical connections, e.g. the ex tension cable, must be watertight versions appro-
ved and labelled as suitable for outdoor use. E x tension cables must have three con-
ductors, with one conductor being used for the E AR TH .
• D o not use damaged ex tensioncords
• D o not ex pose the machine to weather influences, humidity or heat sources
• C heck if the rated voltage and rated freq uency of the mains supply correspond to the-
details of the type plate

If the mains cable has been damaged, it must be replaced with a special mains cable.
These can be obtained from the manufacturer or the manufacturer's customer service
department. The mains cable may only be replaced by the manufacturer, the manu-
facturer's customer service department or eq ually q ualified persons. The length of the
cable should not ex ceed 0 ,5 m.
P ersonnel
• N ever allow the device to be operated by children, or persons that are not familiar
with the device. L ocal regulations may prescribe a minimum age for using the device.
• The operator or user is responsible for accidents or situations that are dangerous to
other persons or property.
• Always wear safety shoes and long trousers during mowing.
P rep aration
• N ever operate the machine when other people, especially children, or household pets
are in the immediate operating vicinity of the machine.
• The operator or user is responsible for accidents, injury, or damage to the property of
other persons.
• H earing protection and protective goggles must be worn when operating the machine.
• P erform a visual inspection of the blades and screws for signs of wear and damage
before each use. Worn or damaged blades or screws must always be replaced as a
complete set, to avoid unbalanced vibration.
• P rotective goggles with side protection must always be worn when using devices with
rear ejection and uncovered rear rollers without a catching container
• D o not use the device in bare feet or with open sandals
• Always k eep a careful eye on the ground when using the device, and remove all sto-
nes, stick s, wires, bones and other foreign objects.
• B efore use, always check that the blades, blade bolts and cutting unit are not worn or
damaged. Worn or damaged blades and bolts must always be replaced as a comple-
te set to avoid unbalanced vibration.
• B e very careful when using devices with multiple blades, since the rotation of one
blade can set the other blades in motion.
• R un machine and mak e sure it runs smoothly:

O p eration
• nly mow in daylight or good artificial light.

• If at all possible, do not operate the machine on wet grass, or tak e ex tra measures to
prevent slipping.
• n sloping ground, always mow across the slope and never up and down the slope.
• E x ercise ex treme care when changing direction on sloping ground.
• D o not use the device on very steep slopes.
• The blades must be stopped before the machine is tilted for transport. The blades
must not be operation when crossing surfaces that are not planted with grass, and
also during transport to and from the work ing area.
• D o not change the regulator setting of the motor and do not over-rev the motor.
• All blade and driving clutches must be disengaged before starting the motor.
• Start and stop the motor in accordance with the operating instructions. The feet must
be k ept a suitable distance away from the blades.
• N ever start the motor when standing in front of the grass ejection opening.
• D o not place hands or feet near to or underneath rotating parts. Always k eep away
from the ejection opening.
• If at all possible, do not use the device on wet grass.
• E nsure good traction when work ing on sloping ground.
• Always walk and never run with the device.
• E x ercise ex treme care when changing direction on sloping ground.
• E x ercise ex treme care when turning or pulling the device towards you.
• N ever use the device with defective protective covers or shields, or without the safety
eq uipment installed (e.g. deflector and/or grass catcher).
• D o not tip the device when starting the motor, unless this is ex plicitly req uired for star-
ting the device. In this case, the device should only be tipped as far as necessary and
may only be lifted at the end opposite to the operator. E nsure that both hands are
always in the operating position before lowering the device back to the ground.
• The device must never be lifted or carried with a running motor.
• R emove the plug from the power sock et:
• When you leave the device unattended
• B efore clearing any block ages
• B efore every inspection, cleaning, or work ing on the device
• After a foreign object has been encountered. Inspect the machine for damage and
mak e any necessary repairs.
• When the device begins to ex cessively vibrate (inspect immediately).
• The blades must be stopped before the machine is tilted for transport. The blades-
must not be in operation when crossing surfaces that are not planted with grass,
andalso during transport to and from the work ing area.
• D o not use the machine when:
• M ain s cab le or plu g are d am ag e d .
• M ach in e d oe s n ot ru n s m ooth ly .
• P arts are d am ag e d .
Maintenanc e and S torage
• Allow the motor to cool before storing the machine in a closed room.
• R egularly inspect the machine and replace worn or damage parts for reasons of safe-
ty.
• K eep all nuts, bolts and screws screwed tight to ensure safe operation of the device.
• C heck the grass catcher more freq uently for signs of wear or damage.

Insert the ex tension cable's sock et in the machine's switch/plug connection, and secure
with the cable-holder. The loop in the cable must be long enough to allow the cable to
slide in the cable-holder from one side to the other.

P ress safety button on the switch/plug connection, and then sq ueez e lever against the
machine's handle. H old the lever against the handle and release the safety button. To stop
the machine, release the lever. The lever will automatically return to the neutral position.
Mo w in g tip s
• Mak e sure that the area you plan to mow is free of stones, rubbish, cables, and other
objects.
• Mak e sure than all fastenings (screws, nuts, etc.) are tight.
• R egularly check the grass box for wear.
• Select the cutting height according to the condition of your lawn and the height of the grass.
• F or best results, mow tall grass in layers. The recommended height of the grass cut
each time is a max imum of 4 centimetres.
• Mowing the grass when it is dry will achieve the best result.
• Mak e sure that the cutting blades can turn at full speed; the machine may not be
overloaded.
• To protect the power cord, mak e sure that it is lying on the ground behind you as you
mow (F ig. 6 ).
• Start mowing slowly by slowly pushing the machine forwards. If the cutting blades
slow down or the motor stops then you have selected the incorrect cutting height, or

you are pushing the lawnmower too q uick ly.
• E mpty the grass box immediately it is full; failure to do so may cause the cutter blade
to seiz e, or overload the motor.

A worn cutter blade will result in a poor cut, and will overload the motor. Always check the
cutter blade before you start using the machine. H ave the cutter blade sharpened or
replaced by a specialist when so req uired.

To remove the cutter blade (C ) hold it tight to prevent it turning whilst unscrewing bolt (B )
with the spanner (A) supplied with the machine. R emove the cutter blade, and replace it
with a new one.
5 . S E R V ICE & MAINTE NANCE

Ma in ten a n ce a n d clea n in g
• R egularly cleaning and maintaining the machine will improve its performance and pro-
long its useful life.
• E ach time you have finished mowing, clean any grass and soil from the fan, cutter
blade, housing, and grass box .
• U se only a damp cloth (hot water) and a soft brush to clean the machine. Mak e sure
the machine always stays dry!
• N ever use cleaning agents or solvents. These could cause irreparable damage to
your machine. C hemicals can attack plastic parts.
• Applying an environmentally-friendly oil to the cutter blade will protect it from rust
when the machine is not used for a longer period.
• Store the machine in a dry place, and out of the reach of children.
• The upper section of the handle can be folded up to save space. D o not pinch the
cord when turning the machine!

The machine does not need any ex tra lubrication.

Should a fault occur, e.g. after wear of a part, please contact the service address on the
warranty card. In the back of this manual you find an ex ploded view showing the parts
that can be ordered.

To prevent damage during transport, the appliance is delivered in a solid pack aging which

Achtung! Sä mtliche Anweisungen sind z u lesen. F ehler bei der E inhaltung der nachste-

1) Arbeits p la tz
a. H alten Sie Ihren Arbeitsbereich sauber und aufgerä umt. U nordnung und unbeleuchte-
te Arbeitsbereiche k ö nnen z u U nfä llen fü hren.
b. Arbeiten Sie mit dem G erä t nicht in ex plosionsgefä hrdeter U mgebung, in der sich
brennbare F lü ssigk eiten, G ase oder Staub befinden. E lek trowerk z euge erz eugen
F unk en, die den Staub oder die D ä mpfe entz ü nden k ö nnen.
c. H alten Sie K inder und andere P ersonen wä hrend der B enutz ung des
E lek trowerk z eugs fern. B ei Ablenk ung k ö nnen Sie die K ontrolle ü ber das G erä t verlie-
ren.
2) E lek tris ch e S ich erh eit
a. D er Anschlusssteck er des G erä tes muss in die Steck dose passen. D er N etz steck er
darf in k einer Weise verä ndert werden. Verwenden Sie k eine Adaptersteck er gemein-
sam mit schutz geerdeten G erä ten. U nverä nderte N etz steck er und passende
Steck dosen verringern das R isik o eines elek trischen Schlages.
b. Vermeiden Sie K ö rperk ontak t mit geerdeten berflä chen, wie von R ohren,
H eiz ungen, H erden und K ü hlschrä nk en. E s besteht ein erhö htes R isik o durch elek tri-
schen Schlag, wenn Ihr K ö rper geerdet ist.
c. H alten Sie das G erä t von R egen oder N ä sse fern. D as E indringen von Wasser in ein
E lek trogerä t erhö ht das R isik o eines elek trischen Schlages.

Tip p s z u m R a s en m ä h en
• Sorgen Sie dafü r, dass Ihr Arbeitsgebiet frei von Steinen, Abfä llen, K abeln oder ande-
ren H indernissen ist.
• Achten Sie auf den festen Sitz aller B efestigungselemente (Schrauben, Muttern usw.).
• Ü berprü fen Sie den G rasfangk orb regelmä ß ig auf Verschleiß erscheinungen.
• Wä hlen Sie eine Schnitthö he, die z um Z ustand des R asens und z ur G raslä nge passt.
• H ohes G ras wird am besten stufenweise gemä ht. D ie empfohlene Schnitthö he beträ gt
4 Z entimeter pro Mä hgang.
• F ü r ein optimales E rgebnis wird das G ras am besten trock en gemä ht.
• Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Messer sich in voller G eschwindigk eit drehen k ann, das
G erä t darf nicht ü berlastet werden.
• Achten Sie darauf, dass das K abel beim Mä hen sicher hinter Ihnen verlä uft.
• Schieben Sie das G erä t am Anfang langsam vorwä rts. Wenn die Mä hgeschwindigk eit
abnimmt oder der Motor stoppt, haben Sie die falsche Schnitthö he gewä hlt oder
stimmt die Mä hgeschwindigk eit nicht.
• E in voller G rasfangk orb muss sofort geleert werden, um ein F estlaufen des Messers
oder eine Ü berlastung des Motors z u verhindern.
