NORMAS GENERALES DE SEGURIDAD
Estas MOTOSIERRAS tiene características que
harán su trabajo más rápido y fácil. Seguridad,
comodidad y confiabilidad fueron previstos
como prioridad para el diseño de estos, hacien-
do más fácil su operación.
ADVERTENCIA: lea atentamente el manual
antes de intentar usar este producto. Asegúrese
de prestar atención a todas las advertencias y
las precauciones de seguridad a lo largo de este
manual.
REGLAS GENERALES PARA EL USO DE LA
MOTOSIERRA
1. Nunca haga funcionar una motosierra cuan-
do este fatigado, enfermo, trastornado, bajo la
influencia de medicamentos que puede hacerlo
estar somnoliento, o si está bajo la influencia de
alcohol o de drogas
2. Utilice calzado de seguridad, ropa ajustada,
protección apropiada para los ojos y la audición
utilizando dispositivos principales de protec-
ción.
3. Siempre tenga cuidado al manejar el com-
bustible. Limpie los derrames, después mueva
la motosierra por lo menos 3 m del punto que
aprovisiona el combustible antes de encender el
motor.
a) Elimine todas las fuentes de chispas o flamas
(es decir cigarrillos, llamas ardiendo, o trabajo
que pueda causar chispas) en las áreas donde se
mezcla, se vierte, o se almacena el combustible.
b) No fume mientras que maneja el combustible
o mientras que haga funcionar la motosierra.
4. No permita a otras personas que estén cerca
de la motosierra al momento del encendido o al
cortar. Mantenga a las personas presentes y las
mascotas fuera del área de trabajo. Los niños,
los animales domésticos y las personas presentes
deben de guardar un mínimo de 10 m de dis-
tancia al momento del encendido o cuando esté
funcionando su motosierra
5. Nunca comience a cortar hasta que tenga un
área de trabajo despejada y una trayectoria pre-
vista para retroceder al momento que el árbol
caiga.
6. Sostenga la motosierra firmemente con am-
bas manos cuando el motor este funcionando.
Utilice un agarre firme con el pulgar y los dedos
que están cerca de las empuñaduras de la mo-
tosierra.
7. Mantenga todas las partes de su cuerpo aleja-
das de la motosierra cuando el motor este fun-
cionando.
8. Antes de que encienda el motor, cerciórese
de que la motosierra no esté en contacto con
cualquier cosa.
9. Lleve siempre la motosierra con el motor apa-
gado, traiga la barra, la motosierra y el silencia-
dor a la parte posterior, lejos de su cuerpo.
10. Siempre inspeccione la motosierra antes de
cada uso, puede haber partes flojas o dañadas.
Nunca haga funcionar una motosierra que esté
dañada, ajustada incorrectamente, o que no
esté totalmente armada.
Asegúrese de que la motosierra pare de moverse
cuando suelte el botón de la válvula reguladora.
11. Todo el servicio de la motosierra, con excep-
ción de los artículos enumerados en el manual
del usuario, se debe realizar por personal califi-
cado en los centros de servicio autorizados.
12. Apague siempre el motor antes de soltar la
motosierra.
13. Tenga mucho cuidado al cortar troncos o
materiales pequeños, ya que el material delga-
do puede hacer que la motosierra vaya hacia
usted o sacarlo de su balance.
14. Al cortar un tronco que esté bajo tensión,
tenga cuidado del “springback” (contragolpe)
de modo que no quede atrapado bajo la tensión
de las fibras de madera flojas.
15. Nunca corte habiendo fuertes vientos, mal
tiempo, cuando la visibilidad sea pobre o en
temperaturas muy altas o muy bajas. Asegúrese
de revisar que el árbol no tenga ramas muertos
que puedan caerse durante la operación.
16. Mantenga las manijas secas, limpias y libére-
las de mezcla de aceite o de combustible.
17. Opere la motosierra solamente en áreas bien
ventiladas. Nunca la encienda o haga funcionar
dentro de un cuarto o edificio. Los humos emi-
tidos por el escape contienen monóxido de car-
bono peligroso.
18. No haga funcionar la motosierra libremente
a menos que esté entrenado especialmente para
utilizarla.
19. Cuidado con el contragolpe. El contragolpe
es el movimiento de la barra, que ocurre cuando
la punta de la motosierra entra en contacto con
un objeto.
El contragolpe puede conducir a la pérdida de
control de la motosierra.
20. Al transportar su motosierra, cerciórese de
que la vaina de la barra este propiamente en su
lugar.

• Para evitar quemaduras, NO toque el motor ni
el escape que haya sido calentado. El motor se
sobrecalienta durante su funcionamiento.
NORMAS ESPECÍFICAS DE SEGURIDAD
MEDIDAS DE SEGURIDAD DEL CONTRAGOL-
PE PARA USUARIOS DE LA MOTOSIERRA
ADVERTENCIA: El contragolpe puede ocu-
rrir cuando la nariz o la extremidad de la barra
toca un objeto, o cuando la madera se cierra y
pellizca la cadena de la motosierra. El contacto
de la extremidad en algunos casos puede causar
una rápida reacción inversa, aventando la barra
hacia arriba y contra el operador.
Cualquiera de estas reacciones puede hacerle
perder el control de la sierra, que podrían dar
lugar a daños corporales serios. No confíe del
todo a los dispositivos de seguridad construidos
en la sierra.
Como usuario de una motosierra debe de tomar
en cuenta varios aspectos para mantener su tra-
bajo libre de accidentes y heridas:
a) Con la comprensión básica del contragolpe
usted puede reducir o eliminar el elemento sor-
presa. Las sorpresas repentinas contribuyen a la
existencia de accidentes.
b) Mantenga un buen agarre de la sierra con
ambas manos, la mano derecha en la manija
posterior y la mano izquierda en la manija de-
lantera, esto, cuando el motor este corriendo.
Mantenga un buen agarre con los pulgares y con
el resto de los dedos alrededor de las manijas.
Un fuerte agarre ayudará a reducir el contragol-
pe manteniendo así el control de la motosierra.
c) Asegúrese de que el área en donde esté cor-
tando este libre de obstrucciones.
No deje que la nariz de la barra haga contacto
con un tronco, o cualquier obstrucción que pu-
diera tocar al momento que esté operando la
motosierra.
d) Corte a altas velocidades del motor.
e) No trate de alcanzar lugares que estén más
arriba de la altura de sus hombros.
f) Siga las instrucciones del mantenimiento de la
motosierra y del afilado para la cadena.
g) Utilice solamente barras de reemplazo y ca-
denas especificadas por el fabricante o el equi-
valente.
SÍMBOLOS DE LA MÁQUINA
Para una operación segura y el mantenimiento
de su máquina, los símbolos están grabados en
relieve en las caras principales de su máquina.
PRECAUCIONES DE OPERACIÓN
• Los gases emanados del escape contienen
monóxido de carbono, un gas tóxico sin olor
o color. La inhalación de monóxido de carbo-
no puede causar lesiones cerebrales serias o la
muerte. Nunca arranque ni accione el motor en
un área cerrada o con poca ventilación.
• Para utilizar este producto utilice casco, lentes
de protección o careta, guantes gruesos de tra-
bajo, botas de seguridad con suela antideslizan-
te, protección para los oídos.
• Es recomendable que tenga consigo: herra-
mientas y limas adjuntas, combustible y aceite
almacenados adecuadamente, artículos para
marcar su área de trabajo (cuerdas, señales,
etc.), silbato (para colaboración o en caso de
emergencia), hacha o sierra (para eliminar obs-
táculos).
• Mantenga una postura firme y bien equili-
brada. No trate de alcanzar objetos fuera de
su alcance. Al tratar de hacerlo puede perder el
equilibrio o exponerse al contacto con superfi-
cies calientes.
• Mantenga todas las partes del cuerpo alejadas
de toda pieza en movimiento.
• Inspeccione cada vez la unidad antes de usarla
para ver si tiene tornillos flojos, fugas de com-
bustible, etc. Reemplace toda pieza dañada
antes de utilizar la unidad.
PRECAUCIONES DE REABASTECIMIENTO Y MA-
NEJO DE COMBUSTIBLE
• La gasolina es altamente inflamable y puede
ser explosiva bajo ciertas circunstancias, crean-
do condiciones potenciales que produzcan que-
maduras graves. Cuando vaya a reabastecer de
combustible, realice mantenimiento, drenar la
gasolina y/o cuando vaya a ajustar el carbura-
dor: detenga el motor y permita que se enfríe
antes de abastecer. NO fume cerca del área de
reabastecimiento.
• Asegúrese de que el área esté bien ventilada y
no haya presencia de llamas o chispas, y que no
haya ningún piloto encendido de ningún tipo
de aparato.
• NO sobrellene el depósito de combustible de
manera que esté por encima del indicador de
nivel máximo. Si sobrellena el depósito, el calor
puede producir que el combustible se expanda y
que se derrame a través de las ventilas que hay
en el tapón del depósito de combustible. Limpie
inmediatamente la gasolina derramada.
• Los motores pueden calentarse extremada-
mente durante su operación normal.

De acuerdo con estas indicaciones, asegúrese de
no tener ningún error de uso.
El puerto de reabastecimiento de la
“MEZCLA DE GASOLINA”
Ubicación: Tapa del tanque de com-
bustible.
El puerto para agregar el aceite de
la cadena.
Ubicación: Tapa de aceite.
Al poner el Switch en la posición
“0” el motor inmediatamente se
detiene.
Ubicación: Parte posterior hacia la
izquierda de la unidad.
Encendido del motor. Si usted saca
la perilla del ahogador (ubicada en
la parte trasera derecha de la em-
puñadura posterior) hacia donde
indica la flecha, usted puede fijar el
encendido del modo siguiente:
• Primera posición; al comienzo,
cuando el motor esta caliente.
• Segunda posición; al comienzo
cuando el motor está frío.
Indicación de la tuerca

Hacia “MIN” el flujo de
aceite disminuye.
HACIA “MAX” el flujo de aceite au-
menta.
Ubicación: Parte inferior, del lado
del embrague.
El tornillo debajo de la letra “H” es
el tornillo de ajuste para la veloci-
dad. El tornillo bajo de la letra “L”
es el tornillo de ajuste de velocidad
lenta. El tornillo a la izquierda del
estampado “T” es el tornillo de
ajuste de ralentí.
Ubicación: Parte trasera izquierda
de la máquina.
Freno de la cadena.
Hacia adelante: La cadena frena.
Hacia atrás: La cadena se suelta.
Muestra las direcciones en las que el freno de
cadena se libera (hacia atrás) y se activa (hacia
adelante).
CARACTERÍSTICAS
CONOZCA SU HERRAMIENTA
Antes de intentar usar este producto, familiarí-
cese con todas sus características de operación y
requerimientos de seguridad.
1. Silenciador. El silenciador controla el ruido de
escape y evita la salida de partículas de carboni-
lla incandescentes.
2. Protección de mano delantera. Protección en-
tre la manija delantera y la cadena de la sierra
para proteger la mano de lesiones y mejorar el
control de la motosierra si la mano se resbala.
Esta protección se utiliza para activar el freno
de la cadena que detiene la cadena de la sierra.
3. Estrangulador. Dispositivo para enriquecer
la mezcla de combustible / aire del carburador
para mejorar el arranque en frío.
4. Cubierta del embrague. Tapa de protección
para la barra guía, la cadena de la sierra, el em-
brague y el engranaje cuando se está utilizando
la motosierra.
5. Tensor de la cadena. Dispositivo para ajustar
la tensión de la cadena.
6. Tope. Dispositivo colocado frente al punto de
montaje de la barra guía y que actúa como pi-
vote cuando entra en contacto con un árbol o
un tronco.

7. Barra guía y cadena. La parte que soporta y
guía la cadena de la motosierra. Cadena que se
utiliza como herramienta de corte.
8. Tapón del depósito de aceite. Para cerrar el
depósito de aceite.
9. Soga del arrancador. Soga del arranque para
encender el motor.
10. Tapón del depósito de combustible.
11. Gatillo del acelerador. Dispositivo que se ac-
ciona con el dedo y sirve para controlar la velo-
cidad del motor.
12. Dispositivo de seguridad. Una palanca de se-
guridad que debe presionarse antes de poder acti-
var el gatillo del acelerador para prevenir un fun-
cionamiento accidental del gatillo del acelerador.
13. Interruptor de encendido. Interruptor para
activar y desactivar el sistema de encendido, lo
que permite arrancar o detener el motor.
14. Tapa del filtro de aire. Protege el filtro de aire.
15. Mango delantero (para la mano izquierda).
Asidero de apoyo ubicado en la parte delantera
de la caja del motor.
16. Tapa de la barra guía. Dispositivo extraíble
que protege la barra guía y la cadena de la mo-
tosierra durante el transporte y siempre que no
se utilice la motosierra.

INSTRUCCIONES DE ENSAMBLE Y
OPERACIÓN
Un paquete estándar de la motosierra contiene
lo siguiente:
Cadena, barra, protector de la barra, llave ajus-
table y destornillador para el ajuste del carbu-
rador.
INSTALACIÓN DE LA BARRA
Abra la caja e instale la barra y la cadena en la
unidad como se indica a continuación:
ADVERTENCIA: la cadena de la sierra tiene
bordes muy afilados. Use guantes protectores
gruesos para su seguridad.
1. Jale la guarda delantera hacia la manija fron-
tal para verificar que el freno de cadena no esté
activado.
2. Suelte los tornillos y remueva la cubierta del
tensor de la cadena.
3. Coloque la cadena al engrane y mientras la
acomoda alrededor de la barra, monte la barra
a la unidad de poder. Ajuste la tensión de la ca-
dena.
NOTA: ponga aten-
ción a la dirección
correcta de la ca-
dena.
4. Acomode la cubierta a la maquina, coloque
y sujete los tornillos hasta apretarlos completa-
mente.
5. Mientras sostenga la punta de la barra ajuste
la tensión de la cadena al darle vuelta al torni-
llo de tensión hasta que la tira quede ajustada
apenas tocando el fondo del riel de la cadena.
6. Apriete los tornillos
con la punta de la ba-
rra aún sosteniéndola
hacia arriba. Después
verifique que la cade-
na tenga una rotación
suave y una tensión propiamente ajustada, esto
mientras lo mueve con una mano. Si es necesa-
rio, reajústelo con la cubierta de la cadena suel-
ta.

7. Ajuste el tornillo de tensión.
NOTA: una nueva cadena al momento de usarse,
esta expandirá su longitud. Verifique y reajuste
la tensión constantemente ya que una cadena
suelta puede salirse del riel fácilmente, o bien
causar un desgaste rápido de este y de la barra
guía.
ABASTECIMIENTO Y REABASTECIMIENTO DE
COMBUSTIBLE
ADVERTENCIA: la gasolina es extremada-
mente flamable. Evite fumar o traer cualquier
tipo de chispas cerca del combustible. Asegúre-
se de detener la máquina, déjela que se enfríe
antes de reabastecer la unidad con combustible.
Preferentemente haga esto en los exteriores
y aléjese por lo menos de 3 m del lugar don-
de abasteció la máquina antes de encender el
motor.
• Mezcle Gasolina regular
• Mezcla recomendada
Gasolina 25:1 Aceite para
motores de 2 tiempos
- La emisión del extractor es controlada
por parámetros fundamentales, (ej. Car-
buración, sincronización de ignición y sin-
cronización de puerto) esto sin la adición
o la introducción de algún material inerte
durante la combustión.
- Estos motores están certificados para operar
con gasolina sin plomo.
- Asegúrese de usar gasolina de un mínimo nú-
mero de octanos, número 89RON (USA/Canada
87AL).
- Si utiliza gasolina con un porcentaje menor
de octano que el que se recomienda se corre el
peligro de que el motor se sobrecaliente y que
ocurra un problema subsecuente tal como el
desacomodo repentino del pistón.
- Gasolina sin plomo es la más recomendada, ya
que esta contribuye a la disminución de la con-
taminación y del aire, así como también, por la
salud de su corazón y del medio ambiente.
COMO MEZCLAR EL COMBUSTIBLE.
ADVERTENCIA. ¡Agite! Téngalo en cuenta.
1. Mida las cantidades correctas de gasolina y
aceite.
2. Ponga un poco de gasolina en un recipiente
limpio.
3. Agregue el aceite y agite bien.
4. Agregue el resto de la gasolina y agite de
nuevo, por lo menos un minuto. Mientras que
algunos aceites son difíciles de agitar (depen-
diendo de los ingredientes del aceite) suficiente
agitación es necesaria para que el motor pro-
longue su vida útil. Tenga cuidado de que si la
agitación no es suficiente, existe un riesgo de
que el pistón salga de su lugar debido a la mala
mezcla de combustible.
5. Ponga una indicación (o etiqueta) en el reci-
piente que acaba de usar, para evitar que este se
mezcle con gasolina u otros recipientes.
ABASTECIMIENTO DE LA UNIDAD
1. Desenrosque y remueva el tapón del combus-
tible. Deje el tapón en una superficie libre de
polvo.
2. Ponga el combustible en el tanque para el
combustible a un 80% de su capacidad total.
3. Enrosque de nuevo el tapón del tanque y lim-
pie cualquier derrame o resto de gasolina que
haya podido quedar en la unidad.
ADVERTENCIA: utilice el suelo (de preferen-
cia) para llenar el tanque.
Aléjese por lo menos 3 m del punto de llenado
antes de arrancar el motor.
Pare el motor antes de reabastecer la unidad.
Al mismo tiempo asegúrese de tener suficiente
mezcla de gasolina en el contenedor.
PARA MEJORAR LA VIDA DEL MOTOR EVITE:
1. COMBUSTIBLE SIN ACEITE (GASOLINA PURA)
Esto causará daños severos al motor interno y
sus partes.
2. GASOHOL. Puede causar deterioro de hules
y/o partes plásticas, así como la interrupción de
la lubricación del motor.
3. ACEITE PARA MOTOR DE 4 CICLOS. Puede
causar que la bujía falle, o que el anillo del pis-
tón se queme.
4. Combustibles mezclados que pudieron haber-
se quedado sin uso por un periodo de un mes o
más, podrían obstruir el carburador y esto resul-
tara en un fallo del motor.
RECOMENDACIONES
1. En el caso de que guarde la motosierra por
mucho tiempo, limpie el tanque del combusti-
ble, después de haberlo vaciado completamen-
te. Después active el motor y vacíe el carburador
del combustible.
2. En el caso de que el contenedor de la mezcla
de aceite se rompa o fragmente, lleve el produc-
to a un centro de servicio especializado.
NOTA: cuide que, si el uso de la mezcla de ga-
solina y aceite no es el que se recomienda en

este manual y necesita cambio o reposición de la
sierra, pueda no ser válida la garantía que viene
al final de este manual.
ACEITE DE CADENA.
Use aceite de motor SAE#10W-30 para todo el
año, o bien SAE#30 - #40 en verano y SAE#20
en invierno.
NOTA: No use o reutilize aceite que pueda cau-
sar daño a la bomba de aceite.
INSTRUCCIONES DE OPERACIÓN
ADVERTENCIA: es muy peligroso usar una
motosierra que sus partes estén rotas, sueltas o
que le hagan falta a la máquina. Antes de utili-
zar la máquina, asegúrese que todas las partes,
incluyendo la barra y la cadena estén propia-
mente instaladas.
ARRANCANDO EL MOTOR
1. Llene los tanques de combustible y aceite de
cadena respectivamente y asegúrese que las ta-
pas estén propiamente ajustadas.
2. Mueva el interruptor a la posición “l” de en-
cendido.
3. Jale el pivote del ahogador a la segunda posi-
ción. El ahogador se cerrará y se debe de colocar
el acelerador en la posición de encendido.
NOTA: cuando este reinicializando la máquina
inmediatamente después de haberla detenido,
coloque el ahogador en la primera posición
(ahogador abierto y la palanca de aceleración
debe de estar en posición de arranque).
4. Mientras asegura la unidad en el suelo jale la
soga de encendido vigorosamente.
ADVERTENCIA: no intente arrancar la má-
quina mientras sostiene la barra y la cadena con
la mano.
5. Cuando el motor haya sido encendido, prime-
ro empuje la palanca del ahogador a la posición
inicial y en seguida jale la soga del arrancador
nuevamente para que el motor se encienda.
6. Deje que el motor se quede con la válvula del
ahogador abierta levemente.
VERIFICANDO EL ABASTECIMIENTO DEL
ACEITE
Asegúrese de ensamblar la barra y la cadena
cuando revise el abastecimiento del aceite, si no,
las partes que rotan pueden quedar expuestas y
puede ser peligroso para el usuario.
Después de arrancar
el motor, haga que la
sierra vaya a velocidad
media y verifique si el
aceite de la cadena sale
de la manera como se
muestra en la ilustra-
ción.
AJUSTE DEL CARBURADOR
El carburador de la motosierra ha sido ajustada
de fábrica, pero puede requerir un ajuste debi-
do al cambio de las condiciones de su operación.
Antes de ajustar el carburador asegúrese de que
los filtros de aire/combustible estén limpios, y
que el combustible esté bien mezclado.
NOTA: asegúrese de ajustar el carburador cuan-
do esté ensamblado a la unidad junto con la
cadena.
Cuando esté ajustando siga las siguientes reco-
mendaciones:
1. Detenga el motor y dele vuelta al tornillo en
ambas agujas “H” y “L” hasta que se detengan.
Nunca las fuerce. Después vuélvalos a colocar
con la misma cantidad de vueltas que le dio
anteriormente, o bien como se indica a conti-
nuación.

3. Gire la aguja ‘L’ lentamente en sentido de las
manecillas del reloj hasta encontrar la posición
en que esta llegue a la máxima velocidad, des-
pués dé vuelta a la aguja al contrario de las ma-
necillas del reloj por 1/4 de vuelta.
4. Gire el tornillo de ajuste de velocidad ralentí
hacia el lado contrario de las manecillas del reloj
para que la cadena no se mueva. Si la veloci-
dad de ralentí sigue a una velocidad muy baja
entonces gire el tornillo hacia donde giran las
manecillas del reloj.
5. Haga una prueba de corte y ajuste la aguja ‘H’
para un mejor desempeño de corte, pero esto
no lo hará trabajar a una máxima velocidad.
FRENO DE CADENA
Esta máquina está equipada con un freno auto-
mático para detener la rotación de la cadena si
esta presenta un contragolpe mientras se esté
cortando. El freno es automáticamente operado
por la fuerza de la inercia, la cual actúa con la
fuerza que se deposita en la guarda frontal.

Este freno también puede ser activado manual-
mente con la guarda llevada hacia el frente.
Para liberar el freno, jale la guarda frontal hacia
la empuñadura del frente, haga esto hasta escu-
char un “click”.
PRECAUCIÓN: Asegúrese de probar el freno
durante la inspección diaria de su máquina.
¿Como asegurarse?
1. Apague el motor.
2. Sosteniendo la motosierra horizontalmente,
suelte su mano de la empuñadura frontal y gol-
pee la punta de la barra contra un tronco o una
pieza de madera, y verifique la operación del
freno. El nivel de operación varía con el tamaño
de la barra.
En caso de que el freno no sea efectivo, lleve el
producto al centro de servicio más cercano para
su inspección y reparación. Si el motor todavía
corre a una alta velocidad cuando está puesto el
freno, el embrague se sobrecalentará causando
problemas a la máquina. Cuando el freno se ac-
tiva durante su operación inmediatamente suel-
te la válvula reguladora para apagar el motor.
DETENIENDO EL MOTOR
1. Suelte la válvula reguladora y deje que el mo-
tor repose unos minutos.
2. Ponga el interruptor de encendido en la posi-
ción “0” (STOP) de apagado.
OPERACIÓN
¡ ATENCIÓN !
• Antes de iniciar su trabajo, lea la sección “Para
una Operación Segura”. Se recomienda primero
practicar realizando cortes sencillos. Esto tam-
bién ayudará a habituarse a la motosierra.
• Siempre siga las reglas de seguridad. La moto-
sierra solo debe usarse para cortar madera.
Queda prohibido cortar otro tipo de material. El
contragolpe y vibraciones varían con diferentes
materiales y los requerimientos de las reglas de
seguridad no se aplicarían correctamente. No
use la motosierra como palanca para levantar,
mover o partir objetos. No se use en mesas fijas
al suelo.
• No es necesario aplicar presión en la moto-
sierra para realizar el corte. Aplique una ligera
presión cuando el motor esta totalmente en
marcha.
• Cuando la motosierra queda atascada mien-
tras corta, no intente jalarla a la fuerza, en lugar
de esto, use una cuña o palanca para liberarla.
GUARDA CONTRA EL CONTRAGOLPE
Esta sierra está equipada con un freno de cade-
na que detendrá la cadena en caso de presentar-
se un contragolpe durante su operación normal.
Antes de cada uso debe verificarse el freno de
cadena, poniendo a toda revolución el motor
por un par de segundos presionando la guarda
de mano hacia adelante.
La cadena deberá detenerse inmediatamente
con el motor a toda velocidad. Si la cadena tarda
en detenerse o no se detiene del todo, reempla-
ce la banda del freno y el tambor del embrague
antes de usarse.
- Es de extrema importancia que el freno de la
cadena se verifique para una óptima operación
y que la cadena esté bien afilada para mante-
ner el nivel de prevención de contragolpe de la
motosierra. Quitar los dispositivos de seguridad,
mantenimiento inadecuado, o incorrecto re-
emplazo de refacciones de la barra o la cade-
na pueden elevar el riego de heridas debido al
contragolpe.
TALANDO ÁRBOLES
1. Al decidir en que di-
rección deberá caer el
árbol, considere el vien-
to, la inclinación del
tronco y ubicación de
ramas anchas facilitará
el trabajo después de la
caída y otros factores.
2. Mientras libera el área al rededor del árbol,
verifique el área donde mantenga una buena
postura y verifique la mejor área que le permita
quitarse del camino.
3. Realice un corte de muesca a un tercio del
tronco en dirección al lado de la caída.
4. Realice un corte profundo en el lado opuesto
al corte de la muesca y a una altura ligeramente
más alta que el fondo del corte de la muesca.
NOTA: Asegúrese que los trabajadores en el
área alrededor estén lejos del área de caída.
PODAR Y ASERRAR
- Asegúrese de mantener una posición firme. No
se pare sobre el tronco.
- Manténgase alerta, el tronco puede rodar des-
pués de haber caído. Especialmente cuando tra-
baje en una pendiente, párese en el lado cuesta

MANTENIMIENTO
ADVERTENCIA: Antes de limpiar, inspeccio-
nar o reparar la unidad, asegúrese que la unidad
se ha detenido y esta fría.
Desconecte la bujía para prevenir el encendido
accidental de la unidad.
MANTENIMIENTO DESPUÉS DEL USO
1. Filtro de aire. El polvo en la superficie del
filtro puede removerse golpeando una de sus
esquinas contra una superficie rígida. Para lim-
piar suciedad en las mallas, separe el filtro en
dos mitades. Cuando use aire comprimido, sople
desde el interior.
- Para ensamblar las mitades del filtro presione
el aro hasta oír un “click”.
NOTA: al instalar el filtro principal, asegúrese
que las muescas en el borde del filtro encajan
correctamente con las de la cubierta del cilindro.
2. Puerto de aceitado. Desmonte la barra guía y
verifique que el puerto de engrasado no tenga
obstrucciones.
3. Barra guía. Al desmontar la barra guía, re-
mueva el aserrín en la muesca de la barra y en el
puerto de aceitado.
Engrase el engrane de la nariz en el puerto de
alimentación en la punta de la barra.
4. Otros. Verifique que no existen fugas de com-
bustible, tornillos sueltos o daño en partes esen-
ciales, especialmente en las uniones de los man-
gos y el montaje de la barra guía. Si encuentra
defectos, asegúrese de repararlos antes de usar
la motosierra.
PUNTOS DE SERVICIO PERIÓDICOS
1. Aletas del cilindro. Polvo obstruyendo las
aletas del cilindro causará sobrecalentamiento
al motor. Verifique periódicamente el cilindro
buscando obstrucciones en las aletas después
de quitar el limpiador de aire y la cubierta del
cilindro. Al instalar la cubierta del cilindro, ase-
gúrese que los cables del interruptor y los ojales
están en la posición correcta.
NOTA: Asegúrese de bloquear el orificio de en-
trada de aire.
2. Filtro de gasolina.
a) Con un gancho de alambre, corte el filtro des-
de el punto de filtrado.
b) Desarme el filtro y lave con gasolina o en caso
necesario reemplace con uno nuevo.
NOTA: Después de quitar el filtro, use una pinza
para sujetar el extremo del tubo de succión.
Al rearmar el filtro, asegúrese de no dejar fibras
o polvo dentro del tubo de succión.
3. Tanque de gasolina. Con un gancho de alam-
bre, remueva el filtro de aceite a través del puer-

el filtro de nuevo en el tanque, asegúrese que
viene de la esquina correcta. También limpie
cualquier suciedad en el tanque.
4. Bujía. Limpie los
electrodos con un cepi-
llo de alambre y calibre
a 0,65 mm de ser nece-
sario.
5. Engrane. Verifique que no haya grietas o
juego excesivo interfiriendo con la transmisión
de la cadena. Si el juego es considerable, reem-
place con una parte nueva. Nunca ponga una
cadena nueva en un engrane gastado o vicever-
sa.
MANTENIMIENTO DE LA CADENA
CADENA DE LA SIERRA
Para el funcionamiento correcto y operación se-
gura es muy importante mantener las cuchillas
de la cadena bien afiladas.
Las cuchillas deben afilarse cuando:
- El aserrín (viruta) se vuelve polvo.
- Es necesario aplicar más fuerza para aserrar.
- El corte no es lineal.
- La vibración aumenta.
- El consumo de combustible aumenta.
Ajustes y medidas estándar:
- Use guantes de seguridad.
Antes de afilar:
- Asegúrese de que la cadena de la sierra esté
bien ajustada.
- Asegúrese de que el motor esté completamen-
te detenido
- Use una lima redonda del tamaño correcto
para la cadena.

Tamaño de la lima: 5/32” (4,0 mm)
Coloque la lima en la cuchilla y empuje con fir-
meza. Mantenga la lima en la posición correcta
como se muestra.
Después de afilar cada cuchilla, verifique que la
profundidad sea la correcta y afile con la inclina-
ción correcta como se muestra.
NOTA: Asegúrese de remover el borde redondo
del borde frontal para reducir la posibilidad de

GENERAL SAFETY RULES
Your CHAIN SAW has many features that will
make your job faster and easier. Safety, perfor-
mance and reliability have been given top prior-
ity in the design of this tool, qualities to make
easy to maintain and to operate.
WARNING: carefully read the entire manual
before attempting to use this tool. Make sure
to pay special attention to the safety rules and
indications, plus all the warnings and cautions
of this manual.
GENERAL RULES FOR THE USE OF THE CHAIN
SAW
1. Never operate a chain saw when you are fa-
tigued. Ill, or upset, or under the influence of
medication that may make you drowsy, or if you
are under the influence of alcohol or drugs
2. Use safety footwear, snug fitting clothing
and eye, hearing and head protection devices.
3. Always use caution when handling fuel. Wipe
up all spills and then move the chain saw at least
3 m from the fueling point before starting the
engine.
a) Eliminate all sources of sparks or flame (i.e.
smoking, open flames, or work that can cause
sparks) in the areas where fuel is mixed, poured,
or stored.
b) Do not smoke while handling fuel or while
operating the chain saw.
4. Do not allow other persons to be near the
chain saw when starting or cutting. Keep by-
standers and animals out of the work area. Chil-
dren, pets and bystanders should be a minimum
of 10 m away when you start or operate the
chain saw.
5. Never start cutting until you have a clear work
area, secure footing, and planned retreat path
from the falling tree.
6. Always hold the chain saw firmly with both
hands when the engine is running. Use a firm
grip with thumb and fingers encircling the chain
saw handles.
7. Keep all parts of your body away from the
saw chain when the engine is running.
8. Before you start the engine, make sure the
saw chain is not contacting anything.
9. Always carry the chain saw with the engine
stopped, the guide bar and saw chain to the
rear, and the muffler away from your body.
10. Always inspect the chain saw before each
use for worn, loose, or damaged parts, Never
operate a chain saw that is damaged, improper-
ly adjusted, or is not completely and securely as-
sembled. Be sure that the saw chain stops mov-
ing when the throttle control trigger is released.
11. All chain saw service, other than the items
listed in the Owner’s Manual, should be per-
formed by competent chain saw service person-
nel.
12. Always shut off the engine before setting
it down.
13. Use extreme caution when cutting small size
brush and sampling because slender material
may catch the saw chain and be whipped to-
ward you or pull you off balance.
14. When cutting a limb that is under tension,
be alert for springback so that you will not be
stuck when the tension in the wood fibers is re-
leased.
15. Never cut in high wind, bad weather, when
visibility is poor or in very high or low tempera-
tures. Always check the tree for dead branches
which could fall during the falling operation.
16. Keep the handles dry, clean and free of oil
or fuel mixture.
17. Operate the chain saw only in well ventilat-
ed areas. Never start or run the engine inside a
closed room or building. Exhaust fumes contain
dangerous carbon monoxide.
18. Do not operate the chain saw in a free unless
specially trained to do so.
19. Guard against kickback. Kickback is the
upward motion of the guide bar which occurs
when saw chain at the nose of the guide bar
contacts an object. Kickback can lead to danger-
ous loss of control of the chain saw.
20. When transporting your chain saw, make
sure the appropriate guide bar scabbard is in
place.
OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
• The gases emanated from the exhaust contain
carbon monoxide, a toxic gas without odor or
color. Inhalation of carbon monoxide can cause
serious brain damage or death. Never start or
operate the engine in a closed or poorly venti-
lated area.
• To use this product, wear a helmet, protective
glasses or mask, thick work gloves, safety boots
with non-slip soles, ear protection.
• It is recommended that you have: tools and
files, fuel and oil stored properly, items to mark
your work area (ropes, signals, etc.), whistle (for
collaboration or in case of emergency), ax or
saw (to eliminate obstacles).
• Maintain a firm and well-balanced posture. Do
not try to reach objects beyond your reach. In
trying to do so, you may lose balance or expose

yourself to contact with hot surfaces.
• Keep all parts of the body away from any mov-
ing part.
• Inspect the unit each time before using it to
see if it has loose screws, fuel leaks, etc. Replace
any damaged parts before using the unit.
CAUTIONS FOR REFUELING AND FUEL HAN-
DLING
• Gasoline is highly flammable and can be
explosive under certain circumstances, creat-
ing potential conditions that can cause severe
burns. When refueling, perform maintenance,
drain the gasoline and / or when adjusting the
carburetor: stop the engine and allow it to cool
before refueling. DO NOT smoke near the re-
plenishment area.
• Make sure that the area is well ventilated and
that there are no flames or sparks, and that
there is no pilot light on any type of device.
• DO NOT overfill the fuel tank so that it is
above the maximum level indicator. If the tank
overfills, the heat can cause the fuel to expand
and spill through the vents in the fuel filler cap.
Immediately clean spilled gasoline.
• Motors can get extremely hot during normal
operation.
• To avoid burns, DO NOT touch the motor or
exhaust that has been heated. The motor over-
heats during operation.
SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES
KICKBACK SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR
CHAIN SAW USERS
WARNING: Kickback may occur when the
nose or tip of the guide bar touches an object,
or when the wood closes in and pinches the saw
chain in the cut.
Tip contact in some cases may cause a lightning
fast reverse reaction, kicking the guide bar up
and back towards the operator. Pinching the
saw chain along the top of the operator. Either
of these reactions may cause you to lose control
of the saw, which could result in serious per-
sonal injury.
Do not rely exclusively on the safety devices
built into your saw. As a chain saw user you
should take several steps to keep cutting jobs
free from accident of injury.
a) With a basic understanding of kickback you
can reduce or eliminate the element of surprise.
Sudden surprise contributes to accidents
b) Keep a good grip on the saw with both
hands, the right hand on the rear handle, and
the left hand on the front handle, when the en-
gine is running. Use a firm grip with thumbs and
fingers encircling the chain saw handles. A firm
grip will help you reduce kickback and maintain
control of the saw.
c) Make certain that the area in which you are
cutting is free from obstructions. Do not let the
nose of the guide bar contact a log., branch, or
any other obstruction which could be hit while
you are operating the saw.
d) Cut at high engine speeds.
e) Do not overreach or cut above shoulder
height.
f) Follow the manufacturer’s sharpening and
maintenance instructions for the saw chain.
g) Only use replacement bars and chains speci-
fied by the manufacturer or the equivalent.

to these indications, please be careful not to

FEATURES
KNOW YOUR TOOL
Before attempting to use this product, become
familiar with all of its operating features and
safety requirements.
1. Muffler. The silencer controls the exhaust
noise and prevents the release of incandescent
carbon particles.
2. Front hand protection. Protection between
the front handle and the chain of the saw to
protect the hand from injuries and improve the
control of the chainsaw if the hand slips.
This protection is used to activate the chain
brake that stops the chain of the saw.
3. Choke. Device to enrich the carburetor fuel /
air mixture to improve cold start.
4. Clutch cover. Protective cover for the guide
bar, the chain of the saw, the clutch and the
gear when the chainsaw is being used.
5. Chain tensioner. Device to adjust the tension
of the chain.
6. Stop. Device placed in front of the mount-
ing point of the guide bar and acting as a pivot
when it comes in contact with a tree or trunk.
7. Guide bar and chain. The part that supports
and guides the chain of the chainsaw. Chain
that is used as a cutting tool.
8. Oil tank cap. Is to close the oil tank.
9. Pull starter. Starter rope to start the engine.
10. Fuel tank cap.
11. Throttle trigger. Device that is operated with the
finger and serves to control the speed of the motor.
12. Safety device. A safety lever that must be
pressed before you can activate the throttle
trigger to prevent accidental operation of the
throttle trigger.
13. Ignition switch. Switch to activate and de-
activate the ignition system, which allows the
engine to be started or stopped.
14. Air filter cover. Protects the air filter.
15. Front handle (for the left hand). Support han-
dle located on the front of the motor housing.
16. Guide bar cover. Removable device that pro-
tects the guide bar and the chain of the chain-
saw during transport and provided that the
chain saw is not used.

INSTRUCTIONS
A standard saw unit package contains as fol-
lows: saw Chain · Guide Bar · Bar protector ·
Power unit · Plug wrench · Screwdriver for car-
buretor adjustment
BAR INSTALLATION
Open the box and install the guide bar and the
saw chain on the power unit as follows:
WARNING: the saw chain has very sharp edg-
es. Use thick protective gloves for safety.
1. Pull the guard towards the front handle to
check that the chain brake is not engaged.
2. Loosen the nuts and remove the chain cover.
3. Gear the chain to the sprocket and while fit-
ting the saw chain around the guide bar, mount
the guide bar to the power unit. Adjust the posi-
tion of the chain tensioner.
NOTE: pay atten-
tion to the correct
direction of the
saw chain.
4. Fit the chain cover to the power unit and fas-
ten the nuts to finger tightness.
5. While holding up the tip of the bar adjust the
chain tension by turning the tensioner screw un-
til the tie straps just touch the bottom side of
the bar rail.
6. Tighten the nuts se-
curely with the bar tip
held up (12 ~ 15 Nm).
Then check the chain
for smooth rotation
and proper tension
while moving it by hand. If necessary, readjust
with the chain cover loose.
7. Tighten the tensioner screw.
NOTE: a new chain will expand its length in the
beginning of use. Check and readjust the ten-
sion frequently as a loose chain can easily derail
or cause rapid wear of itself and the guide bar.
FUEL AND REFUELING
WARNING: Gasoline is very flammable.
Avoid smoking or bringing any flame or sparks
near fuel. Make sure to stop the engine and al-
low it to cool before refueling the unit.
Select outdoor bare ground for fueling and
move at least 3 m (10 ft) away from the fueling
point before starting the engine.
• Mix regular gasoline.
• Recommended mixing ratio.
Gasoline 25:Oil 1
- Exhaust emission are controlled by the
fundamental engine parameters and com-
ponent (eq., carburation, ignition timing
and port timing) without addition of any
major hardware or the introduction of an
inert material during combustion.
- These engines are certified to operate on un-
leaded gasoline.
- Make sure to use gasoline with a minimum
octane number of 89RON (USA/Canada: 87AL).
- If you use a gasoline of a lower octane value
than prescribed, there is a danger that the en-
gine temperature may rise and an engine prob-
lem such as piston seizing may consequently
occur.
- Unleaded gasoline is recommended to reduce
the contamination of the air for he sake of your
hearth and the environment.
- Poor quality gasoline or oils may damage seal-
ing rings, fuel lines or fuel tank of the engine.
HOW TO MIX FUEL
WARNING: Pay attention to agitation.
1. Measure out the quantities of gasoline and
oil to be mixed.
2. Put some of the gasoline into a clean, ap-
proved fuel container.
3. Pour in all of the oil and agitate well.
4. Pour in the rest of gasoline and agitate again
for at least one minute. As some oils may be dif-
ficult to agitate depending on oil ingredients,
sufficient agitation is necessary for the engine
to last long.
5. Put a clear indication on the outside of the
container to avoid mixing up with gasoline or
other containers.

FUELING THE UNIT
1. Untwist and remove the fuel cap. Rest the cap
on a dustless place.
2. Put the fuel into the fuel tank to 80% of the
full capacity.
3. Fasten the fuel cap securely and wipe up any
fuel spillage around the unit.
WARNING: Select bare ground for fueling.
Move at least 10 feet (3 meters) away from the
fueling point before starting the engine. Stop
the engine before refueling the unit. At that
time, be sure to sufficiently agitate the mixed
gasoline in the container.
FOR YOUR ENGINE LIFE, AVOID:
1. FUEL WITH NO OIL (RAW GASOLINE) It will
cause severe damage to the internal engine
parts very quickly.
2. GASOHOL – it can cause deterioration of rub-
ber and/or plastic parts and disruption of engine
lubrication.
3. OIL FOR 4-CYCLE ENGINE USE - It can cause
spark plug fouling, exhaust port blocking, or
piston ring sticking.
4. Mixed fuels which have been left unused for
a period of one month or more may clog the
carburetor and result in the engine failing to
operate properly.
RECOMMENDATIONS
1. In the case of storing the product for a long
period of time, clean the fuel tank after render-
ing it empty. Next, activate the engine and emp-
ty the carburetor of the composite fuel.
2. In the case of scrapping the used mixed oil
container, scrap it only at an authorized reposi-
tory site.
NOTE: As for details of quality assurance, read
the description in the section Limited Warranty
carefully. Moreover, normal wear and change
in product with no functional influence are not
covered by the warranty.
Also, be careful that, if the usage in the instruc-
tion manual is not observed as to the mixed
gasoline, etc., described therein, it may not be
covered by the warranty either.
CHAIN OIL.
Use motor oil SAE #10W-30 all year round or
SAE #30 - #40 in summer and SAE #20 in winter.
NOTE: Do not use wasted or regenerate oil that
can cause damage to the oil pump.
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: It is very dangerous to run a
chain saw that mounts broken parts or lacks any
parts. Before starting engine, make sure that all
the parts including bar and chain are installed
properly.
STARTING THE ENGINE
1. Fill fuel and chain oil tanks respectively, and
tighten the caps securely.
2. Set the switch to “l” position.
3. Pull out the choke knob to the second stage
position. The choke will close and the throttle
lever will then be set in the starting position.
NOTE: When restarting immediately after stop-
ping the engine, set the Choke knob in the first-
stage position (choke open and throttle lever in
the starting position).
4. While holding the saw unit securely on the
ground, pull the starter rope vigorously.
WARNING: Do not start the engine while
the chain saw hangs in one hand. The saw chain
may touch your body. This is very dangerous.
5. When engine has ignited, first push in the
choke knob to the first-stage position and then
pull the starter again to start the engine.
6. Allow the engine to warm up with the throt-
tle lever pulled slightly.
CHECKING THE OIL SUPPLY. Make sure to set
up the bar and the chain when checking the
oil supply. If not, the rotating parts may be ex-
posed. It is very dangerous.
After starting the en-

ADJUSTING THE CARBURETOR
The carburetor on your unit has been factory
adjusted, but may require fine tuning due to a
change in operating conditions.
Before adjusting the carburetor make sure that
the provided air/fuel filters are clean and fresh
and the fuel properly mixed.

NOTE: Be sure to adjust the carburetor with the
bar chain attached.
When adjusting, take the following steps:
1. Stop engine and screw in both the H and L
needles until they stop. Never force them. Then
set them back the initial number of turns as
shown below.
H needle: 3/4 ± 3/8 • L needle: 1 1/2 ± 1/4
2. Start the engine and allow it to warm up at
half-throttle.
3. Turn the L needle slowly clockwise to find a
position where idling speed is maximum, then
set the needle back a quarter (1/4) turn coun-
terclockwise.
4. Turn the idle adjusting screw (T) counterclock-
wise so that the saw chain does not turn. If the
idling speed is too slow, turn the screw clock-
wise.
5. Make a test cut and adjust the H needle for
best cutting power, not for maximum speed.
CHAIN BRAKE
This machine is equipped with an automatic
brake to stop saw chain rotation upon occur-
rence of kickback during saw cutting.
The brake is automatically operated by inertial
force, which acts on the weight fitted inside the
front guard.
This brake can also be operated manually with
the front guard turned down to the guide bar.
To release the brake, pull up the front guard
toward the front handle till a “click” sound is
heard.
CAUTION: Be sure to confirm brake ope-
ration during daily inspection.
How to confirm?
1. Turn off the engine.
2. Holding the chain saw horizontally, release
your hand from the front handle, hit the tip of
the guide bar to a slump or a piece of wood, and
confirm brake operation. Operating level varies
by bar size.
In case the brake is not effective, ask your dealer
for inspection and repairs. If the engine keeps
rotating at high speed with the brake engaged,
the clutch will overheat causing trouble. When
the brake engages during operation, immedi-
ately release the throttle lever to stop the en-
gine.
STOPPING THE ENGINE
1. Release the throttle lever to allow the engine
to idle for a few minutes.
2. Set the switch to the “O” (STOP) position.
OPERATION
ATTENTION!
• Before proceeding to your job, read the sec-
tion “For Safe Operation”. It is recommended
to first practice sawing easy logs. This also helps
you get accustomed to your unit.
• Always follow the safety regulations. The chain
saw must only be used for cutting wood. It is
forbidden to cut other types of material. Vibra-
tions and kickback vary with different materials
and the requirements of the safety regulations
would not be respected. Do not use the chain
saw as a lever for lifting moving or splitting ob-
jects. Do not lock it over fixed stands. It is for-
bidden to hitch tools or applications to the PTO
other than those specified by the manufacture.
• It is not necessary to force the saw into the
cut. Apply only light pressure while running the
engine at full throttle.
• When the saw chain is caught in the cut, do
not attempt to pull it out by force, but use a
wedge or a lever to open de way.
GUARD AGAINST KICKBACK
This saw is equipped with a chain brake that will
stop the chain in the event of kickback if oper-
ating properly. You must check the chain brake
operation before each usage by running the
saw at full throttle for 1-2 seconds and pushing
the front hand guard forward. The chain should
stop immediately with the engine at full speed.
If the chain is slow to stop or does not stop, re-
place the brake band and clutch drum before
use.
It is extremely important that the chain brake be
checked for proper operation before each use
and that the chain be sharp in order to maintain
the kickback safety level of this saw. Removal of
the safety devices, inadequate maintenance, or
incorrect replacement of the bar or chain may
increase the risk of serious personal injury due
to kickback.
FELLING A TREE

4. Make a felling cut from the opposite side of
the notch and at a level slightly higher than the
bottom of the notch.
NOTE: When you fell a tree, be sure to warn
neighboring workers of the danger.
BUCKING AND LIMBING
- Always ensure your foothold. Do not stand on
the log.
- Be alert to the rolling over of a cut log. Espe-
cially when working on a slope, stand on the
uphill side of the log.
- Follow the instructions in “For Safe Operation”
to avoid kickback of the saw.
Before starting work, check the direction of
bending force inside the log to be cut.
Always finish cutting from the opposite side of
the bending direction to prevent the guide bar
from being caught in the cut.

NOTE: be alert to the springing back of a cut

NOTE: do not use an unstable foothold or lad-
der. Do not overreach. Do not cut above shoul-
der height. Always use both your hand to hold
the saw.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Before cleaning inspecting or re-
pairing the unit, make sure that the engine has
stopped and is cool. Disconnect the spark plug
to prevent accidental starting.
MAINTENANCE AFTER EACH USE
1. Air filter. Dust on the cleaner surface can
be removed by tapping a corner of the clean-
er against a hard surface. To clean dirt in the
meshes, split the cleaner into halves and brush
in gasoline. When using compressed air, blow
from the inside. To assemble the cleaner halves,
press the rim until it clicks.
NOTE: when installing the main filter, make sure
that the grooves on the filter edge are correctly
fit with the projections on the cylinder cover.
2. Oiling port. Dismount the guide bar and
check the oiling port for clogging.
3. Guide bar. When the guide bar is dismount-
ed, remove sawdust in the bar groove and the
oiling port. Grease the nose sprocket from the
feeding port on the tip of the bar.
4. Others. Check for fuel leakage and loose fas-
tenings and damage to major parts, specially
handle joints and guide bar mounting. If any
defects are found, make sure to have them re-
paired before operating the saw again.
PERIODICAL SERVICE POINTS
1. Cylinder fins. Dust clogging between the cyl-
inder fins will cause overheating of the engine.
Periodically check and clean the cylinder fins
after removing the air cleaner and the cylinder
cover. When installing the cylinder cover, make
sure that switch wires and grommets are posi-
tioned correctly in place.
NOTE: be sure to block the air intake hole.
2. Fuel Filter.
a) Using a wire hook, take cut the filter from the
filter point.
b) Disassemble the filter and wash with gaso-
line, or replace with a new one if needed.
NOTE: After removing the filter, use a pinch to
hold the end of the suction pipe. When assem-
bling the filter, take care not to allow filter fi-
bers or dust inside the suction pipe.
3. Oil Tank. With a wire hook, take out the oil
filter through the filter port and clean in gaso-

line. When putting the filter back into the tank,
make sure that air comes to the front right cor-
ner. Also clean off dirt in the tank.
4. Spark plug. Clean the
electrodes with a wire
brush and reset the gap to
0,65 mm as necessary.
5. Sprocket. Check for cracks and for excessive
wear interfering with the chain drive. If the
wear is considerable, replace it with new one.
Never fit a new chain on a worn sprocket, or a
worn chain on a new sprocket.
SAW MAINTENANCE
SAW CHAIN
- It is very important for smooth and safe opera-
tion to always keep the cutters sharp.
The cutters need to be sharpened when:
- Sawdust becomes powder-like.
- You need extra force to saw in.
- The cut path does not go straight.
- Vibration increases.
- Fuel consumption increases.
Cutter setting standards:
- Be sure to wear safety gloves.
Before filling:
- Make sure the saw chain is held securely.
- Make sure the engine is stopped
- Use a round file of proper size for the chain.
Chain type: 91 VG
File size: 5/32” (4,0 mm)
Place the file on the cutter and push straight
forward. Keep the file position as illustrated.
After each cutter has been filed, check the depth
gauge and file to the proper lever as illustrated.
NOTE: Be sure to round off the front edge to re-
duce the chance of kickback or tie-strap break-
age. Make sure every cutter has the same length
and eager angles as illustrated.
GUIDE BAR
- Reverse the bar occasionally to prevent partial
wear.
- The bar rail should always be square. Check for
wear of the bar rail. Apply a ruler to the bar and
the outside of a cutter. If a gap is observed be-
tween them, the rail is normal. Otherwise, the
bar rail is worn. Such a bar needs to be corrected
or replaced.
NOTE: if you see any space between them, the
rail is fine, otherwise the bar is worn out. The
bar needs to be recalibrated or replaced.
