1. Beschreibung
Der
SILENTstar HD Rev2.0 ist ein moderner
Festplattenkühler, elcher die Festplatte
vollständig einkapselt. Dies sorgt für eine
außerge öhnlich gute Schallisolierung. Die
Wärme der Festplatte ird dabei über die
seitlichen Kühlblöcke aufgenommen und über
das W
asser abtransportiert. Als besonderes
Highlight, kann mittels optional erhältlicher
Bodenplatte auch die Festplattenelektronik
gekühlt erden kann. Der Kühler ist auch als
Core Version erhältlich.

1. Description
The SILENTstar
HD Rev2.0 is a modern hard
drive cooler that fully encapsulates the hard
drive. This provides extraordinarily effective
sound insulation. The heat from the hard drive
is absorbed via the side cooling blocks and
carried a ay via the ater. A particular
hig
hlight among the features is that an
optionally available base plate can be used to
cool the hard drive electronics. The cooler is
also available as a core version.

1. Preparing the cooler
SILENTstar HD coolers are supplied pre-
mounted. The enclosure must be opened
using a suitable cross scre driver. Should the
connecting pipe not be fitted, or if it has
become loose during transport, push it back
into the side parts by turning it slightly and
applyin
g slight pressure. The cooler profiles
have a stopper that prevents the pipe from
being pushed too far into the cooler.
2. Attaching the hard drive(s) with
the cooler profiles
Attach the hard drives to the cooler profiles.
Ensure during the process that t
he po er
connectors of the hard drives are facing the
ater connectors.
For this purpose, the cooler profiles should be
placed on a plane surface, and the scre s
should only be tightened delicately as the last
step.

1. Vorbereitung des Kühlers
Die SILENTstar HD-
Kühler erden vormontiert
geliefert. Das Gehäuse ist mit einem
passenden Kreuzschraubendreher zu öffnen.
Sollte das Verbindungsrohr nicht montiert sein,
oder es sich im Transport gelöst haben, ist
dieses unter einer leichten Drehbe egung mit
enig Druc
k ieder in die Seitenteile zu
schieben. In den Kühlprofilen ist ein Anschlag
eingearbeitet, so kann das Rohr nicht zu eit
in den Kühler geschoben erden.
2. Verbinden der Festplatte(n) mit
den Kühlprofilen
Befestigen Sie die Festplatten mit den
Kühlprofilen, achten Sie hierbei darauf, dass
die Stromanschlüsse der Festplatten in
Richtung der Wasseranschlüsse zeigen.
Die Kühlprofile sollten dazu auf einer planen
Unterlage liegen, die Schrauben sind erst im
letzten Schritt gefühlvoll anzuziehen.

3. Housing assembly
The SILENTstar HD core models also have
uncoupling modules fitted on the side, and
these ca
n be used to fit the cooler inside the
drive bay. The scre s need for this are in the
package.
When using the SILENTstar HD series ith
stainless steel enclosure, push the cooler
carefully into the enclosure base. Position the
cover in place and delicately
turn the M2.5

angepasst erden. Zum Höhenausgleich
kann das Pad auch doppelt gelegt erden.
3. Gehäusemontage
Die SILENTstar HD-
Core Modelle besitzen
seitlich montierte Entkopplungsmodule, mit
Hilfe dieser kann der Kühler im Lauf erks
-
schacht montiert erden. Die dazu
not endigen Schrauben befinden sich im
Lieferumfang.
Bei der SILENTstar HD-Serie mit Edelstahl
-
gehäuse ist der Kühler vorsichtig in den
G
ehäuseboden zu schieben. Der Deckel ird

aufgesetzt und die M2.5 Schrauben mit
Gefühl angezogen. Das Edelstahlgehäuse
besitzt an der Außenseite M3 Ge inde zur
Montage im Lauf erksschacht.
Einige PC-
Gehäuse besitzen Auflagekannten
für optische Lauf erke. D
iese stören beim
Einbau eines Dual- oder Quad Festplatten-
kühler. Die Auflagekanten müssen daher vor
dem Einbau, mittels Schraubendreher oder
Zange, umgebogen erden.
4. Allgemeine Hinweise
Die SILENTstar HD-
Kühler sind auf einen
niedrigen Strömungs iderst
and optimiert,
mehrere Kühler sollten seriell angeschlossen
erden.
Zum Betrieb der Kühler empfehlen ir
destilliertes Wasser, zum Algenschutz kann
handelsübliche Zitronensäure ver endet
erden. Ein Ausbreiten der Algen ird so
irkungsvoll verhindert. Wei
tere Zusätze sind
nicht erforderlich.

Some PC to ers have support ridges for
optical drives. These may prove to be a
hindrance hen fitting a dual or quad hard
drive cooler. The su
pport ridges must therefore
be bent out of the ay using a scre driver or
pliers before installation.
4. General Information
The SILENTstar HD coolers have been
optimized for a lo flo resistance, and
multiple coolers should be connected in series.
We r
ecommend the use of distilled ater for
the operation of the coolers, and ordinary citric
acid can be used to effectively protect against
the spread of algae. The addition of other
additives is not necessary.
