FAQs on the STEALTH AS-6 & AS-10 Active Subwoofer Enclosures
What are the differences between the STEALTH AS-10 & our previous HT-AS10?
1. Rotationally Molded Polyethylene Housing, instead of fiberglass. Although the footprint
of the two are identical, the molded housing is stronger, lighter, and more durable than
the fiberglass.
2. Harness to connect instead of terminals on the amp. This improves the water resistance
& simplifies connection to a Wet Sounds Sound Bar.
3. New AL Mesh grill –stronger, plus they match the sound bars.
Why are amplifier specifications different on the AS-10 & AS-6? The amps look similar.
The amp on both units is identical. We adjust the output of the amp by carefully matching the
impedance of the subs. The AS-10 requires more power, so the impedance of the sub is
lowered to result in 500 watts of output power from the amp. The AS-6 requires less power, so
the impedance of the sub is raised to result in 250 watts of power from the amp.
How will I adjust the controls on the amplifier?
The controls are behind a clear plastic panel with a rubber gasket to keep water, mud and dust
away. Once the sub is installed & the levels are set, the only adjustment needed will be the
included remote level control to fine tune the output of the sub. This control is
interchangeable with AS-6, AS-10 & even the HT-AS10.
How easy is this to install with my Wet Sounds Sound Bar?
AS-6 & AS10 have been designed with the correct connections to be “plug & play”with our
sound bars. The Remote Turn On Wire connects to the remote out on newer sound bars, but if
a user has an older sound bar the sub has auto sensing as well to turn on automatically. The
installation is incredibly easy if a user has a Wet Sounds sound bar, but will work perfectly with
another brand as well.
How do the adjustable feet on the AS-6 work?
Each can be rotated 90 degrees, which allows each corner to have the mounting foot either
come out from the front of the housing or the side of the housing.
Can I improve the performance of the AS-6/10 by using a different woofer or amplifier?
No. The components used in the STEALTH AS-6/10 subwoofers are designed for maximum
performance as complete unit. Substitution of any other amplifier or subwoofer driver is not
recommended as it will degrade the performance and void the warranty.
Where is the best place to mount my subwoofer?
The physics of sound tell us that any subwoofer increases its output when allowed to “load”
into a wall, corner, or some other structure. Since every vehicle & application is different, we
suggest you experiment & move the subwoofer around to find the optimal position.
How are they packaged?
The AS6/10 come in all new full color gift box packaging designed to have a “family”
resemblance with our latest STEALTH Sound Bar packages. When placed on a showroom floor
or a dealership parts display, these will help the product sell themselves.
When will these subs be available?
Both models are scheduled to be in the warehouse by September 21, 2016. We have ample
