Guitar connections
Plug in headphones or an amplier to the audio-out jack. Note: The guitar powers up with the
volume at the highest setting, so lower the volume before using headphones.
Connect the guitar’s mini-USB port to a computer using the included USB to mini-USB cable
and then transfer your music to the guitar with the downloaded Paper Jamz Pro app. The
expansion port is used for compatible Paper Jamz Pro accessories (not included).
Battery details
Installing or changing batteries in your guitar:
The Paper Jamz Pro guitar requires 4 x “AA” size batteries (not included). Insert or replace
batteries according to the diagram.
Open the battery compartment using a 1.
Phillips screwdriver (not included).
Ensure that the positive and negative 2.
polarities match the illustrations inside
the battery compartment.
Replace the battery compartment cover. 3.
Do not over-tighten.
Important battery information
Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended type.• Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries [standard (Carbon- zinc), Alkaline or rechargeable] or • rechargeable batteries of different capacities.
Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before recharging them.• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.• Respect the correct polarity, (+) and (-).• Do not try to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.• Do not dispose batteries in a re.• Replace all batteries of the same type/brand at the same time.• The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.• Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.• Batteries should be replaced by adults.• Remove batteries if the toy is not going to be played with for some time.•

Introduction

Powering Paper Jamz
To start jamming with your Paper Jamz Pro guitar, move the power switch
to the ON position.
Now you’re ready to rock!
Sleep mode
If there is no activity for about 5 minutes, your guitar will go into Sleep mode. To wake it,
just turn it OFF for at least 2 seconds and then back ON.
Volume control
Riffs so hot that you need to turn it up? To raise the volume, touch and hold the Volume
button and then slide your ngers along the fretboard toward the pickups.
Jamming so hard that the neighbors can hear you? To lower the volume, touch and hold
the Volume button and then slide your ngers along the fretboard toward the guitar head.
Strumming
To strum, slide your thumb or ngers up and down the strings and pickups.

Getting started

Modes
The Paper Jamz Pro guitar has two main modes: Song and Freestyle.
Selecting a mode
The Paper Jamz Pro guitar starts up in Freestyle mode so you can play like a pro right out of
the box.
To switch to Song mode and play along with a song, press and hold the Mode button until you
hear a chord sound. Then touch one of the rst 3 frets. Each fret plays a different song.
Freestyle mode
Freestyle mode lets you play real chords and notes to create your own hit songs and killer
guitar solos.
If you’re in Song mode and want to switch back to Freestyle mode, touch and hold the Mode
button until you hear a chord sound. Then touch the 4th fret
(Freestyle).
Basic Play in Freestyle mode
The Paper Jamz Pro guitar has 14 active frets that you can
play. Touch one or more frets to play a note or chord while
strumming and make your guitar wail.
Selecting Notes or Chords
Choose between playing chords and notes by touching the
Notes/Chords button until you hear a click sound. You can
switch back and forth at any time while you play.

Freestyle

Playing Notes or Chords
If you’re playing notes, the guitar will play the note corresponding to the highest fret (closest
to the guitar body) touched. Strumming with no frets touched plays E, and each fret
increases the pitch by a half step.
If you’re playing chords, the guitar plays the chord corresponding to the lowest fret (closest
to the guitar head) you touch. Strumming with no frets touched plays an E major chord. If
you touch two frets together, the guitar will play a minor chord.
Note: See p. 10 for a chart of notes and major/minor chords.
Performance effects
You can apply performance effects to notes and/or chords to create your own awesome
solos, but effects can only be applied to chords as long as you keep changing fret positions.
Once a chord has played for a bit, the effects cannot be applied to it.
Ripstrip
Slide your nger on the Ripstrip to bend the pitch of notes and chords. Sliding toward the guitar
head bends pitch down and sliding away from the guitar head bends it up. Slide your nger and
hold it before strumming to start a note or chord at a different pitch.
Accelerometer
Point the neck up to play notes an octave higher. Shake the guitar head to add vibrato.
Palm Mute
Touch the palm mute with the base of your palm to stop the note or chord. If you hold the base
of your palm on the palm mute while playing a chord, the chord will have a muted sound.
Advanced guitar techniques
Play your Paper Jamz Pro guitar like the real thing—do hammer-ons, pull-offs, taps and slides!
Just strum a note or chord and then change which frets are touched. You can apply these
techniques to both notes and chords, but like the performance effects, they can only be
performed with chords as long as you keep changing fret positions.
Hammer-on
A hammer-on is when you play a note and while it’s still ringing, you “hammer” your nger on a
fret higher up the neck.
Pull-off
A pull-off is the opposite of a hammer-on. You create a new note by pulling your nger off while
a note is ringing.
Tap
Tapping is when you generate a note by tapping the fretboard with your strumming hand.
Slide
A slide is when you play one note and then slide your nger up or down the fretboard to another fret.

Freestyle mode

Song mode
Choose Song mode when you want to play along
with a song. To change to this mode, touch the Mode
button until the muted chord plays and then touch
the Perfect/Rhythm button.
There are two ways to rock out to songs with your
guitar in this mode: Perfect Play and Rhythm.
Selecting Perfect Play or Rhythm
When you select Song mode, the guitar starts up in
Perfect Play.
You can switch between Perfect Play and Rhythm at any time, even if the song is playing, by
touching the Perfect/Rhythm button until it makes a sound.
Perfect Play
Look and sound like a guitar legend—without the years of practice! Just strum along to hear
the guitar track. If you stop strumming, you’ll only hear the backing track and vocals.
You can only play along with the pre-installed songs and ofcial downloadable Paper Jamz
Pro songs.
Rhythm
Rhythm gives you full control to play your own chords or notes over a song. You can apply all
of the performance effects and guitar techniques in this mode.
You can play along with the pre-installed songs, ofcial downloadable Paper Jamz Pro songs
and songs from your own music library.
Playing Notes and Chords in Rhythm
Rhythm starts up with chords active when you strum. To switch to notes and play your own
guitar solo notes on top of the original guitar track, touch the Notes/Chords button.
When chords are active, the guitar adjusts the chords you play so that you always sound like
a pro.
When notes are active, the guitar adjusts the notes you play for perfect rock solos.

Song mode

Basic play in Song mode
Selecting a song
Two pre-installed songs get you started on the road to rock
stardom.
To choose a song, touch the Mode button and then touch one
of the rst 3 frets (Song 1, Song 2 or Song 3).
Until you add your own music to the guitar, touching the 1st
fret (Song 1) will play the rst pre-installed track and touching
the 2nd fret (Song 2) or 3rd fret (Song 3) will play the second
pre-installed track.
When a song slot is empty, touching its button will play another
loaded song when possible.
Stopping or changing a song
To stop a song and to choose another, touch the Mode button until the muted chord plays
and then touch one of the rst 3 frets (Song 1, Song 2 or Song 3).
To stop a song and to switch to Freestyle mode, touch the Mode button until the muted
chord plays and then touch either the 4th fret (Freestyle) or the palm mute.
Adding new songs
You can store up to three songs on your Paper Jamz Pro guitar depending on song length.
Using the free Paper Jamz Pro app, you can add songs from your own music library. Songs that
have been “Certied Compatible” take advantage of enhanced guitar features (see website for
more information).

Note: Songs from your own collection only work in Rhythm so you can play your favorite
music how you want it to sound.
Music volume control
In Song mode, you can also change the
volume of the music independently of
the guitar chords and notes. Touch and
hold the Volume button and then slide
your nger on the Ripstrip. Moving your
nger toward the guitar head lowers
the volume and moving it toward the
palm mute raises the volume.

WowWee 90-Day Limited Warranty
WowWee’s warranty obligations for this Paper Jamz® Pro guitar (this “Product”) are limited to the terms
set forth below.
WowWee Group Limited (“WowWee”) warrants to the original end-user purchaser that this Product will
be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of 90 days from the
date of retail purchase (the “Warranty Period”). This warranty is extended only to the original end-user
purchaser of a new product that was not sold “as is”.
If a defect arises:
(1) you may within 30 days from the date of retail purchase (or such other period specied by the return
policies of the place of purchase)return this Product to the place of purchase, together with the original
proof of purchase and either the original box or the UPC code label from the box, and this Product will
be replaced or, in the event that a replacement for this Product is not available at the place of purchase,
either a refund of the purchase price for this Product or a store credit of equivalent retail value will be
provided; or
(2) you may after the day that is 30 days from the date of retail purchase (or such other period speci-
ed by the return policies of the place of purchase) and within the Warranty Period contact WowWee
Customer Support to arrange for the replacement of this Product. In the event that a replacement for
this Product is not available this Product will be replaced by WowWee with a product of equivalent or
greater retail value.
Notwithstanding the foregoing terms of this warranty, WowWee reserves the right at all times, at its
sole option and discretion, to refund to you the purchase price paid by you for this Product in full and
nal settlement of WowWee’s obligations under this warranty.
A purchase receipt or other proof of the date of retail purchase and purchase price is required in order to
claim the benet of this warranty.
If this Product is replaced, the replacement product becomes your property and the replaced Product
becomes WowWee’s property. If the place of purchase refunds the purchase price of this Product or is-
sues a store credit of equivalent retail value, this Product must be returned to the place of purchase and
becomes WowWee’s property. If WowWee refunds the purchase price of this Product, this Product must
be returned to WowWee and becomes WowWee’s property.
EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS
This warranty covers the normal and intended use of this Product. This warranty does not apply: (a) to
damage caused by accident, abuse, unreasonable use, improper handling and care or other external causes
not arising out of defects in materials or workmanship; (b) to damage caused by service performed by
anyone who is not an authorized representative of WowWee; (c) to any hardware, software or other add-
on components installed by the end-user; (d) if this Product has been disassembled or modied in any
way; (e) to cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents or broken plastic, or normal
wear and tear.
THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS AND YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS
THAT VARY FROM STATE TO STATE. WOWWEE’S RESPONSIBITLITY FOR PRODUCT DEFECTS IS LIM-
ITED TO THE REPLACEMENT OF THIS PRODUCT OR THE REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE FOR THIS
PRODUCT. ALL EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED
WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE,
ARE LIMITED IN TIME TO THE TERM OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. NO WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS
OR IMPLIED, WILL APPLY AFTER THE EXPIRATION OF THE LIMITED WARRANTY PERIOD. If any term of this
warranty is held to be illegal or unenforceable, the legality or enforceability of the remaining terms shall

NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES HOWSOEVER
CAUSED RESULTING FROM BREACH OF WARRANTY OR CONDITION OR UNDER ANY OTHER LEGAL
THEORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF USE. THE FOREGOING LIMITATION SHALL NOT

Connexions de la guitare

piles AA (non comprises). Installe ou change les
piles suivant le schéma.
Enlève le couvercle du compartiment à 1.

Introduction

Mise sous tension de Paper Jamz
Pour commencer à improviser avec ta guitare Paper Jamz Pro, mets
l’interrupteur en position ON. À toi de jouer !
Mode veille
S’il n’y a pas d’activité pendant 5 minutes environ, la guitare se met en mode veille. Pour
réactiver la guitare, éteins-la pendant 2 secondes environ puis rallume-la.
Contrôle du volume
Tes riffs sont si bons que tu veux augmenter le volume ? Pour augmenter le volume, appuie sur
le bouton du volume et maintiens-le, puis glisse les doigts le long du manche, en direction des
micros.
Tes impros dérangent les voisins ?Pour baisser le son, appuie sur le bouton du volume et
maintiens-le, puis glisse les doigts le long du manche, vers la tête de la guitare.
Le strumming
Pour faire du strumming, fais glisser ton pouce ou tes doigts le long des cordes et des micros
dans les deux sens.

Les modes
La guitare Paper Jamz Pro a deux modes principaux : Song et Freestyle.
Comment sélectionner un mode
La guitare Paper Jamz Pro commence en mode Freestyle : tu peux jouer comme un vrai pro
tout de suite.
Passe en mode Song pour accompagner une chanson : appuie sur le bouton Mode jusqu’à ce
que tu entendes un accord. Ensuite, touche une des 3 premières frettes. Chaque frette joue
une chanson différente.
Mode Freestyle
Le mode Freestyle te permet de jouer de vrais accords et de vraies notes pour créer des
chansons fantastiques et des solos de guitare de star.
Si tu es en mode Song, pour revenir en mode Freestyle, appuie sur le bouton Mode jusqu’à ce
que tu entendes un accord. Ensuite, touche la frette n° 4 (Freestyle).
Jeu simple en mode Freestyle
La guitare Paper Jamz Pro a 14 frettes actives avec lesquelles tu
peux jouer. Touche une ou plusieurs frettes pour créer une note ou
un accord que tu grattes, et fais hurler ta guitare.
Sélectionner des notes ou des accords
Choisis entre les notes et les accords en appuyant sur le bouton
Notes/Chords jusqu’à ce que tu entendes un déclic. Tu peux
changer de sélection pendant que tu joues.
Jouer des notes ou des accords
Si tu joues des notes, la guitare produit la note qui correspond à
la frette la plus haute que tu touches (la plus proche du corps de
la guitare). Un strumming sans toucher de frettes donne un mi, et
chaque frette te fait monter d’un demi-ton.

Quand tu joues des accords, la guitare produit l’accord qui correspond à la frette la plus
basse (la plus proche de la tête de la guitare) que tu touches. Un strumming sans toucher aux
frettes donne un accord en mi majeur. Si tu touches deux frettes en même temps, tu crées un
accord mineur.

Effets de scène
Tu peux jouer des notes et des accords avec des effets de scène pour créer des solos de
pro, mais pour jouer des accords avec des effets de scène, tu dois constamment changer la
position des frettes. Si tu joues un accord pendant un certain temps, tu ne peux y ajouter des
effets de scène.
Le ripstrip
Glisse ton doigt le long du Ripstrip pour diminuer le ton de notes ou d’accords. Glisse ton doigt
vers la tête de la guitare pour jouer plus grave, et dans l’autre sens pour jouer plus aigü. Glisse
ton doigt puis laisse-le en position avant de commencer à gratter pour jouer une note ou un
accord à un ton différent.
L’accéléromètre
Incline le manche vers le haut pour jouer une octave plus haut. Secoue la tête de la guitare pour
créer un vibrato.
Le palm mute
Touche le palm mute avec la base de ta paume pour arrêter une note ou un accord. Si tu laisses
la base de ta paume sur le palm mute pendant que tu joues un accord, l’accord sera assourdi.
Techniques avancées
Joue avec ta guitare Paper Jamz Pro comme si c’était une vraie ! Fais des hammer-on, des pull-
off, du tapping et du slide ! Gratte simplement une note ou un accord, puis modie les frettes
touchées. Tu peux appliquer ces techniques aux notes et aux accords, mais, comme pour les
effets de scène, tu devras changer constamment la position des frettes pour les accords.
Le hammer-on
Le hammer-on consiste à « marteler » une frette située plus haut sur le manche avec le doigt
pendant qu’une note continue à sonner.
Le pull-off
Le pull-off est le contraire du hammer-on. Tu crées une nouvelle note en retirant ton doigt
pendant que la note continue à sonner.
Le tapping
Le tapping consiste à créer une note en tapant sur le manche de la guitare avec la main qui gratte.
Le slide
Le slide consiste à jouer une note puis à glisser le doigt le long du manche (vers le haut ou vers le bas)
jusqu’à une autre frette.

Mode Freestyle

Mode Song
Sélectionne le mode Song pour accompagner une chanson. Pour passer en mode Song, appuie
sur le bouton Mode et maintiens-le jusqu’à ce tu entendes un accord assourdi, puis appuie sur
le bouton Perfect/Rhythm.
Tu peux accompagner des chansons sur ce mode de deux façons : Perfect Play ou Rhythm.
Comment sélectionner Perfect Play ou Rhythm
Quand tu sélectionnes le mode Song, la guitare est en mode Perfect Play par défaut.
Tu peux passer de Perfect Play à Rhythm, et vice-versa, quand tu veux, même pendant une
chanson, en touchant le bouton Perfect/Rhythm jusqu’à ce qu’il émette un son.
Perfect Play
Joue comme une rock star, sans avoir à répéter pendant des années ! Gratte, et la guitare se
met à jouer. Si tu arrêtes de gratter, tu n’entendras plus que la musique et les voix de fond.

les chansons ofcielles Paper Jamz Pro à télécharger.
Le mode Rhythm
Le mode Rhythm te permet de jouer tes propres accords et
tes propres notes pour accompagner une chanson. En mode
Rhythm, tu peux appliquer tous les effets de scène et toutes
les techniques de guitare.
Tu peux accompagner les chansons pré-enregistrées, les
chansons ofcielles Paper Jamz Pro à télécharger, ou des chansons de ton répertoire personnel.
Jouer des notes et des accords en mode Rhythm
Quand tu grattes, le mode Rhythm est activé avec des accords par défaut. Pour passer aux
notes et jouer des notes de solo de guitare de ton choix sur le morceau d’origine, touche le
bouton Notes/Accords.
Quand tu joues en mode accords, la guitare règle les accords que tu crées, pour que tu joues
toujours comme un pro.
Quand tu joues en mode notes, la guitare règle les notes que tu crées, pour que tu joues
toujours des solos de rock parfaits.

Mode Song

Pour choisir une chanson, touche le bouton Mode, puis touche une des 3 premières frettes
(chanson n° 1, chanson n° 2 ou chanson n° 3).
Tant que tu n’ajoutes pas tes morceaux perso dans la guitare, chaque fois que tu touches la
1ère frette (chanson n° 1), la guitare joue le premier morceau pré-enregistré, et chaque fois
que tu touches la 2ème frette (chanson n° 2), la guitare joue le deuxième morceau
pré-enregistré.
Si l’emplacement d’une chanson est vide, quand tu touches le bouton
correspondant, la guitare joue une autre chanson existante si c’est
possible.
Comment arrêter une chanson ou changer de chanson
Pour arrêter une chanson et en choisir une autre, appuie sur le bouton
Mode jusqu’à ce que la guitare joue un accord assourdi, puis touche une
des 3 premières frettes (chanson n° 1, chanson n° 2 ou chanson n° 3).
Pour arrêter une chanson et passer en mode Freestyle, appuie sur le
bouton Mode jusqu’à ce que tu entendes un accord assourdi, puis
touche la 4ème frette (mode Freestyle) ou le palm mute.
Ajouter des chansons
Tu peux enregistrer jusqu’à trois chansons dans la guitare Paper Jamz Pro, en fonction de leur
longueur.
Tu peux charger des chansons de ton répertoire perso avec l’application gratuite Paper Jamz
Pro. Chansons qui ont été “certiés compatibles” tirer parti des fonctionnalités améliorées de
ta guitare (visite le site web pour plus d’informations).
Visite www.paperjamzpro.com pour télécharger l’application et apprendre à enregistrer des
chansons dans ta guitare.
Remarque : Les chansons de ton répertoire perso ne fonctionnent qu’en mode Rhythm. Ainsi,
tu peux jouer tes morceaux préférés avec le son que tu souhaites.
Réglage du volume de la musique
En mode Song, tu peux aussi régler le volume de la musique indépendamment des accords
et des notes de la guitare. Appuie sur le bouton
du volume et maintiens-le, puis glisse le doigt le
long du ripstrip. Glisse le doigt vers la tête de la
guitare pour réduire le volume, et vers le palm
mute pour l’augmenter.
