moving it.
It is angerous to alter the specifications or attempt

from your local Service Force Centre.
Any electrical work require to install this appliance

Whenever possible, the back of the appliance
shoul be close to a wall, but leaving the require
istance for ventilation, as state in the installation
instructions.
The appliance shoul be left for 2 hours after

the refrigerant to settle.

Do not allow chil ren to tamper with the controls or

During Use
This appliance is esigne for omestic use only,
specifically for the storage of e ible foo stuffs. It is
not inten e for commercial or in ustrial use.
Containers with flammable gases or liqui s can
leak at low temperatures. Do not store any
containers with flammable materials, such as spray
cans, fire extinguisher refill cartri ges etc. in the
freezer.
Frozen foo shoul not be refrozen once it has
thawe out.
Do not place carbonate or fizzy rinks in the
freezer.
Ice lollies can cause 'frost/freezer burns' if
consume straight from the freezer.
Do not remove items from the freezer if your
han s are amp/wet, as this coul cause skin
abrasions or frost/freezer burns.

This appliance is esigne for freezing an storage of
frozen foo in a omestic home.
To ensure correct operation, the appliance shoul
be locate where the ambient temperature is
between 16-32 °C.

Using the Appliance
Before Use
Remove all packaging an securing tapes. Wash
insi e the appliance with lukewarm water an
bicarbonate of so a (5 ml to 0,5 litre of water). Do not
use soap or etergent as the smell may linger. Dry
thoroughly.
Do not use detergents, abrasive powders,
highly perfumed cleaning products, wax
polishes or products containing alcohol.
FFTo Start the Appliance
1. Allow the appliance to stan for 2 hrs after
installation.
2. Plug in the appliance an switch on at the mains
supply.
3. Turn the thermostat control to 'Super' an leave to
run for 4 hours to allow the correct temperature to
be reache before placing foo insi e.
4. Turn the thermostat control knob to 'Normal'.
Thermostat Control
The thermostat control knob situate on the si e of
the cabinet regulates the temperature insi e the
freezer.
Turning the thermostat control knob clockwise makes
the temperature progressively col er.

Freezing Fresh Food
It is important that fresh foo place in the freezer is
frozen quickly an that the foo alrea y in the freezer
is heate as little as possible.
FFTo freeze fresh foo :
1. Turn the thermostat control knob to 'Super' 6-24
hours before placing fresh foo in the freezer. The
freezer will now run continuously, creating a
sufficient reserve of the temperature require .
2. Place the foo on the freezing shelf of the freezer
an leave the thermostat control knob in the 'Super'
position for a further 24 hours.
3. After 24 hours, return the thermostat control knob
to the 'Normal' position. The freezer will return to
normal storage temperature. Place the frozen foo
in the storing compartment.
If the thermostat control knob is left in the
'Super' position, the freezer will not be
damaged, but energy will be wasted.
Frozen Food Storage
When first starting the freezer or if the freezer has
been out of use for some time, we a vise you to run
your appliance for at least 4 hours with the
thermostat control knob in the 'Super' position
before storing frozen foo .
Do not excee the storage perio in icate by the
manufacturer.
Do not open the oor frequently or leave it open
longer than is necessary.
Important
Do not put carbonated liquids in the freezer.
Ice lollies, if consumed immediately after
removal from the freezer can cause a low
temperature s in burn.
Do not remove items from the freezer if your
hands are damp/wet, as this could cause s in
abrasions or frost/freezer burns.
In the event of a power cut the food in the freezer
will not be affected if the power cut is short and
the freezer is full. Do not open the door. Should
the food begin to thaw it must be consumed
quic ly and must not be re-frozen. (See Hints and
Tips)
Thawing
Deep frozen or frozen foo , prior to being use ,
can be thawe in the fri ge or at room temperature,
epen ing on the time available. Small foo items
may even be cooke from frozen, in this case
cooking will take longer.
Any frozen foo which is allowe to thaw
acci entally shoul either be eaten as soon as
possible, or thrown away. Alternatively, if the foo is
uncooke an has not been completely efroste
it can be cooke an then refrozen.
Defrosted cooked food must never be
refrozen.
FFTo Make Ice Cubes
1. Fill the ice cube tray 3/4 full with col water,
place on the freezing shelf an leave to freeze.
2. To remove the cubes twist the tray or hol it
un er running water for a few secon s.
Never try to free an ice tray that is frozen
to the freezer shelf by using pointed or
sharp edged objects.

Hints & Tips
Food Storage
To obtain the best performance from your freezer:
Do not store warm foo or evaporating liqui .
Avoi buying frozen foo if you cannot store it
straight away. The use of an insulate container is
a visable. When you arrive home, place the frozen
foo in the freezer imme iately.
Do not push foo together too much, try to allow air
to circulate aroun each item.
Do not store foo uncovere .
Ensure that foo place in the freezer is ate an
labelle an use in ate or er to ensure that foo
is consume at its best.
Lean foo keeps better an longer than fatty foo ,
salt re uces the storage time.
Wrap the foo in polythene or aluminium freezing
bags or foil so that they a here to the foo an
provi e an airtight seal.
Packaging which is swollen or has traces of
refrozen water roplets on the pack coul in icate
that the pro uct has not been kept at a suitable
temperature an that it may have lost its original
quality. Partially thawe foo must not be refrozen,
it must be consume within 24 hours. Never
excee the storage times in icate by the
manufacturer.

Do not install the appliance close to sources of
heat, such as a boiler or ra iator or cooker.
Locate the appliance in a cool well ventilate room
an make sure that the air openings of the
appliance are not obstructe .
Avoi unnecessary frosting in the cabinet by
packing all foo stuffs into airtight packages before
placing them in the freezer.
Foo which is to be frozen (when cool) shoul be
place in the fri ge before being transferre to the
freezer.
Try to avoi keeping the oor open for long perio s
or opening the oor too frequently as warm air will
enter the cabinet an cause the compressor to
switch on unnecessarily often.
Ensure there are no obstructions preventing the
oor from closing properly.
In the vent of a Power Failure
If there is a power failure uring the storage of
frozen foo s, keep the oor close . If the
temperature within your freezer shoul rise, o not
refreeze the foo without checking its con ition.

Breads & Cakes: Can be refrozen without anger.

Large Pieces of Meat: Can be refrozen provi ing
there are still ice crystals remaining within them.
Small Joints: Shoul be cooke an can then be
refrozen as cooke ishes.
Chicken: Shoul also be cooke an refrozen as a
fresh ish.

Before any maintenance or cleaning is
carried out you must DISCONNECT the
appliance from the electricity supply.
Internal Cleaning
Clean the insi e an accessories with warm water an

a brush or vacuum cleaner, as an accumulation of ust
will affect the performance of the appliance an cause
excessive electricity consumption.
When the Appliance is not in Use
When the appliance is not in use for long perio s,
isconnect from the electricity supply, empty all foo s
an clean the appliance, leaving the oor open to
prevent unpleasant smells.

Defrosting
The freezer compartment will become progressively
covere with frost. This shoul be remove with the
special plastic scraper provi e whenever the
thickness of frost excee s 6 mm (¼).
During this operation it is not necessary to switch off
the power supply or to remove the foo stuffs.
However, when the ice becomes very thick on the
inner liner, complete efrosting shoul be carrie out
an it is a visable to perform this operation when the
appliance is empty.
FFTo carry out complete efrosting:
1. It is a visable to isconnect the appliance from the
electrical supply. If the plug is inaccessible turn the
thermostat to Stop.
2. Remove any store foo , wrap in several layers of
newspaper an store in a cool place.

Check the fuse has not blown.
Check the thermostat control knob setting.
Check the ambient temperature is within the
appliances operating limits of 16 °C to 32 °C.
Check that the thermostat control knob is turne to
the correct setting relative to ambient con itions.
Set the thermostat control knob to a lower
position.
Check the oor has not been left open.
Check nothing is preventing the oor from closing.
Check the oor gasket is intact an clean.
Check if the appliance stan s stable.
Something Not Working
If the appliance is not working correctly, please carry out the following checks before contacting your local
Service Force Centre.
If after the above checks your appliance still oes not
operate correctly, contact your local Service Force
Centre.
Please note that it will be necessary to provi e proof
of purchase for any in-guarantee service calls.
In-guarantee customers should ensure that the
above checks have been made, as the
engineer will make a charge if the fault is not a
mechanical or electrical breakdown.
3. Leave the oor open.
4. To accelerate the efrosting process place a
bowl of hot (not boiling) water insi e the freezer.
5. When efrosting is complete , ry the interior
thoroughly.
6. Turn the thermostat control 'Super' an leave to
run for at least 4 hours.
7. Replace the previously remove foo .
8. Return the thermostat control to 'Normal'.
Important
A temperature rise of the frozen food pac s
during defrosting may shorten their safe storage
life.
Never use sharp metal tools to scrape off frost
from the evaporator as this could damage the
appliance beyond repair.

Installing the appliance
Transportation, unpacking
The appliance an the interior fitting are protecte for
transport.
Remove all packaging an any a hesive tape.
Any remnants of a hesive can be remove using
white spirit.
After transportation the appliance must not be
switche on for 2 hours. This is to allow the
refrigerant to settle.
Cleaning
Clean the accessories an the insi e of the appliance
with warm water an bicarbonate of so a (5 ml to
0.5 litres of water). Rinse an ry thoroughly.
Do not use detergents, abrasive powders, highly
perfumed cleaning products, wax polishes or
cleaning products containing bleach or alcohol.
Location
The appliance shoul be positione in a well
ventilate , ry room.
Energy use is affecte by the ambient temperature.
The appliance shoul therefore:

other sources of heat
only be installe at a location where the ambient

Ventilation Requirements
The appliance must have a equate ventilation to
ensure correct operation.

Door Reversal
If require the opening irection of the oor can be
change as follows:
To reverse the hinge assembly procee as follows:
Disconnect the appliance from the electricity
supply.
Remove the top hinge cover.
Unscrew the 2 retaining screws, an remove the
hinge from the appliance.
Take the oor off.
Unscrew the lower hinge retaining screws, an
remove the hinge accor ing to the iagram.
Fit the lower hinge on the opposite si e.
Fix the oor onto the lower hinge pin.
To fit top oor hinge, remove the plastic blanking
plugs carefully, an refit them in the holes left by the
hinge retaining screws.
Refit the top hinge using the 2 retaining screws,
taking care that the e ge of the oor is parallel with
si e of the cabinet.
Replace the hinge cover.
Remove screw covers (if fitte ) an han le retaining
screws. Remove blanking plugs on the opposite
si e.
Relocate the han le to the opposite si e an refit
retaining screws (covers if fitte ), an replace the
blanking plugs.

Any electrical wor required to install this
appliance should be carried out by a
qualified electrician or competent person.
This appliance must be earthed.
The manufacturer declines any liability should
these safety measures not be observed.
lectrical Requirements
Before switching on, make sure the electricity supply
voltage is the same as that in icate on the appliance
rating plate.
The appliance is supplie with a 13 amp plug fitte . In
the event of having to change the fuse in the plug
supplie , a 13 amp ASTA approve (BS 1362) fuse
must be use . Shoul the plug nee to be replace
for any reason. The wires in the mains lea are

connecte to the terminal marke with the letter E or
