Thank you for choosing ZTE LTE trunking portable radio. To keep your radio in opti-
mum condition, please read this reference carefully.
Reading instructions
This reference guide serves as a quick guide for users, which only covers radio’s trunk-
ing and common functions

Getting to Know Your Radio
Radio Overview
Key Description
Name Function
Power key
Long press to open the option menu when the radio is on. You can turn
o radio, restart radio, and turn on / o airplane mode via the menu.
Long press to power on when the radio is o;
Short press to screen o when the screen is on;
Short press to screen on when the screen is o.
Multi-task key Short press to show recently running programs.
Home key At any interface, short press Home key to return to the standby interface.
Back key Short press to return to the previous interface.
Camera key
At non-camera interface, short press to switch to video PTT call; long
press to open camera.
At camera interface, short press to take photo.
At video-call interface, short press to capture current video.
PTT key
Press PTT key to start PTT call in standby mode.
During a PTT call, press PTT key to apply oor, and release PTT key to
release oor.
During a DMO call, press PTT key to apply oor, and release PTT key to
release oor.
Volume + key /
Volume - key
Adjust ring volume of incoming call in standby mode.
Adjust call volume during the call.
Adjust media volume when playing multimedia.
Select number or entry in PTT mode and others.
Man-Down alarm triggered, press Volume + Key and Volume - Key
together to stop alarm.

Basic Use
Power on / Power o
Long press Power key until the startup picture appears on the screen to power on.
Long press Power key and select “Shutdown” to power o.
Main Indicator Icons
Dierent icons are displayed on LCD, the meaning is as follows.

LED Indicators

1The red light is on when radio battery is low (below 15%). The red light will turn o
when screen is on, and will ash when screen is o.

The red light is always on when charging. The light turns green when the battery is
fully charged and the charging cable is still connected, and the light is o when the
charging cable is unplugged.

The green light ashes when there is a missed event notication and the screen is o.
In this case, the light turns o when the screen is on, and the green light ashes again
if there are unread missed event notications after the screen is o.
4During PTT call, "speaking" status is reected with red light, and "listening" status is
reected with green light.
5During DMO call, "speaking" status is reected with red light, and "listening" status is
reected with green light.
6Multiple statuses are displayed at the same time when the indicator is used simultane-
ously.
Common Operations on Public Network
Make a Call
On the home page,click Dial ,click to enter phone number, or select a number
in contact list and click to make call.
Answer a Call
When a call comes in,long press and swipe down to answer, or long press
and swipe up to reject
End a Call
During a call, you can click Hang up to end the call.
Send a SMS / MMS
1. On the home page,click SMS icon to open SMS function.
2. Click icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
3. Enter the recipient number in the Recipient, or select recipient by clicking the Con-
tacts icon on the right.
4. Click Enter message and enter message content; or click icon in the upper right
corner to insert attachment and convert to MMS.
5. Click icon to send message.
Note:
After adding theme, attachment, SMS will be converted into MMS. Similarly, MMS will

be converted to SMS after deleting theme and attachment.
Common PTT Operations
Make a PTT Call
Use Keypad to Make Call
1. At any interface, press Home key to return to home page.
2. Press Dial > Dial.
3. Click to display keypad, and enter the number to be dialed.
4. Click or to initiate a full-duplex voice or video private call to the entered
number, or directly press PTT key after entering number to initiate a half-duplex voice
private call.
5. Enter "# + System Group Number".
6. Press PTT key to initiate voice group call to entered number. Also press Camera key
rst, then press PTT key to initiate video group call within 5 seconds.
Note:
This radio does not support half-duplex video private call.
Use Contacts to Make Call
1. At any interface, press Home key to return to home page.
2. Press Dial > Contacts.
3. Select called number with Volume + key / Volume - key.
4. Click or to initiate a full-duplex voice or video private call, or directly
press PTT key to initiate a half-duplex voice private call.
5. Press Home key to return home page,press PTT >Group.
6. Select called group with Volume + key / Volume - key.
7. Press PTT key to initiate voice group call to entered number. Also press Camera
key rst, and then press PTT key to initiate video group call within 5 seconds.
Use call History to Make call
1. At any interface,press Home key to return to home page.
2. Press Dial > Dial.
3. If keypad is open,click to close.
4. Select called number with Volume + key / Volume - key.
5. Click or to initiate a full-duplex voice or video private call, or directly
press PTT key to initiate a half-duplex voice private call.
Note:
This radio only supports saving private call records.
Use fast dial group to Make Call
1. At any interface, press Home key to return to home page.
2. Click fast dial group to select required group.
3. Press PTT key to initiate voice group call. Also press Camera key rst, and press
PTT key to initiate video group call within 5 seconds.

4. For half-duplex call, press and hold PTT key to apply oor. Speak after is dis-
played.
5. Release PTT key to release oor, can hear others speaking or return to idle state.

Answer a PTT Call
• When receiving half-duplex private or group call, rst hear a short beep and then
others speaking without any action. After others nish speaking, press & hold PTT key
and speak after is displayed. Release PTT key to release oor, can hear others
speaking or return to idle state.
• When receiving full-duplex call, caller ID is displayed, and radio will ring / vibrate
(depending on mode and settings). At prompt interface, click to answer full-duplex
call.
End a PTT Call
• During a private call, click to end the call.
• During a group call, click Exit Call to end the call
• During a group call, click to end the call.
Note:
Consult your network operator for permission to end PTT call.
PTT Call Additional Services
Voice Recording
Click to record voice during a PTT voice call.
Snap Shot
During PTT video call, use Camera key to capture video image. If radio is in "idle" or
"speaking" state, the local video image will be captured. If radio is in "listening" state,
the local and remote video images will be captured (remote end is speaker).
During PTT full-duplex video call, you can also capture video image by clicking .
Video Recording
Click to record video during a PTT video call.
Switch Cameras
Click to switch front and rear camera during a PTT video call.
MIC Mute
Click to silence local MIC during a PTT voice or video call.
Switch Sound Components
During PTT voice or video call, click to switch from speaker to earphone, and click
to switch from earphone to speaker.
PTT Emergency Call
PTT emergency call has the highest priority.
1. On home page, click PTT Call> PTT Settings> Emergency Call, to set emergency
call type, emergency call number.
• Emergency call type can be set to voice group call, full-duplex voice private call,

full-duplex video private call.
• Emergency call number is issued by System as default. You can also set the number
manually.
2. Press Emergency call key to initiate emergency call to preset number.
Note:
Before initiating emergency call, the called number should have emergency call right.
PTT Group Update
At any interface, press Home key to return to PTT home page. Click PTT Call > Group,
swipe down and PTT group will be updated.
PTT Settings
1. On home page, click PTT Call > PTT Settings.
2. You can make the following PTT settings:
PTT service: Turn on or o PTT service. If PTT service is on, you can make PTT call; if
PTT service is o, you cannot make PTT call.
Scan service: Set group scan service. It can be set as “Scan is o”, “Scan all groups”,
or “Scan some groups”. You can only receive scanned group call.
Emergency call: Set Emergency call type and number. The Emergency call type can
be set to voice group call, full-duplex voice private call or full-duplex video private call.
Call forwarding: Enable or disable call forwarding. If enabled, you can forward private
call to another radio.
Man-down alarm: Turn on or o man-down alarm. You can also set alarm triggering
duration and alarm mode. If turned on, when radio is placed close to horizontal, it will
automatically alarm after triggering duration.
VOX service: Turn VOX service on or o. Can also set the external MIC and built-in
MIC gain levels ranging from 1 to 5.
Reverse mute: Turn on or o Reverse mute. If turned on, when radio receives call and
rings, reverse radio (ip 180°) to mute it.
Video quality: Set video call quality. It can be set to Smooth, Standard or HD. Also can
be set to enable autofocus.
DMO mode: After switching to DMO mode, two or more radios can speak directly to
each other without base station.
Shortcut setting: Set quick launch for frequently used APPs. Short or long press Cus-
tom function key to quick launch specied APP.
Other settings: Fleet name, Storage path and APN access point can be congured.
Version information: View software version information.
Send PTT SMS / Status message
1. On home page, click to enter the short message interface.
2. Click + New SMS at the bottom of screen.
3. Enter number in Recipient eld. Also click on the right to select recipient from
contacts or groups.
4. Click Write SMS and enter SMS content, or click Write Status Message and

enter status message content.
5. Click to send message.
Note:
Status message ranges from 32768 to 65535.
Common MDS Operations
On home page, click Multimedia Dispatch System (MDS) to enter MDS interface.
Radio Video Push
Video Push to Dispatcher
At MDS interface, select and click to push video to dispatcher.
Push Video to user or group
At MDS interface, click or to enter user or group selection interface, select
the user or group to be pushed to, or click on the main interface to enter the num-
ber to be pushed. Click to push video.
Radio Video Pull
At MDS interface, click or to enter user selection interface, select the user to
be pulled, or click on the main interface to enter the number to be pulled. Click
to push video.
MDS Additional Services
MIC Mute
Click to silence local MIC during multimedia dispatch.
Snap shot
During multimedia dispatch, capture video image by clicking .
Switch Cameras
Click to switch front and rear camera during multimedia dispatch.
Send MDS SMS
1. At MDS interface, click to enter SMS interface.
2. Click at the bottom of screen.
3. Enter number in Recipient eld. Also click Contacts icon on the right to select recipi-
ent.
4. Click in the content eld and enter the message content.
5. Click Send icon to send short message.
Note:
Click on the left to choose to send picture, le or take photo.
MDS Settings
On the main page of MDS, click in the upper right corner and select Settings from
pop-up menu to enter MDS settings interface. You can view and modify MDS server
settings, SMS / MMS server settings, local settings, GPS positioning settings, and so
on.

When MDS is opened for the rst time, a conguration wizard will be prompted. Reg-
istration can only be completed after lling in correct conguration. You can also view
and modify conguration at MDS settings interface.
