TheVoIPModuleisdesignedexclusively for 2N®OMEGALite PBXsasaVoIP
moduleforLAN andInternetvoiceservices.
TheVoIPModuleistobe installedtotheleft fromthe powersupply unit,
abovethemainboard.Toconnectthe module,usethetwoconnectingcables
packedintheseparateplasticbag (insertthem totheJ15/J26 connectorsonthe
mainboard)andthe twospacers(alsopackedinthe separateplasticbag). Usethe
remaining twoM3 screwsto screwtheVoIPModuletothe spacers.
Removethe twoJ8/J9linksonthePBX baseplateforappropriateoperating
efficiency.
Usethe USB cableand thehyper-terminalforthe initialsettingofthe IP
addressand thenetworkmask;usethe(available)webconfiguration forfurther
settings.
The systemconnectstothe 10/100BASE-T(Twisted PairEthernet)
computernetworkthroughastandarddirectcablewithRJ45connectorsatthe

installation information.

Unscrew2M3 screwsfromtheleft and right cornerofthe mainboard(these

The module maybeconfiguredbytwo ways:
1)Connect themodulebymeansof theUSB line tothePC and setthe basic
networkparametersbymeansofcommunicating software,e.g.HyperTerminal.
Then, connectitbymeansof thewebbrowserand completethe setting.
2)Connectthe modulewith the PCbymeansofcrossed Ethernetcable,set
onPCanyIPaddressfromthenetwork10.x.y.zexceptthe10.0.0.1,andsetthe
requiredIPaddressofthemodulebymeansoftheweb browser.Afterchangeof
the IPaddress,connectthe PCand themoduletothenetworkasusually and
completethe configurationviathe web browser.
4.1.Connection ofUSB line
ToconfigurethemoduleconnecttheinsertedUSB cablewiththeVoIP
module(J2connector)andthePC.
Install thedriverfromthe CD attachedtocreatea
virtual”COMport (COM4).
Launche.g., hyper-terminal,setitupforreceivingonthe COMportcreated
forthenewUSB connection and set up thenetworkparameters.
Theconsolesystemisorganized asa setof nested menus. Selecting anitem
resultseitherin changeintosub-menu,performanceofthegivenoperation,orset-
upof the parameterselected.
Themainmenushouldappearafterconnectingthe terminalifthemoduleis
connected.Insomecasesit will benecessarytopress .

Eachmenu consistsfromfollowingsections:
•Heading: contains(fromleft)productname,firmwareversion,menu
nameandnetworknameassignedtotheequipment.
•Selectioncolumn: displaysnumbersand namesofavailableoptions.
•Valuecolumn: ifthe„[menu]“isdisplayed,thenthemenucovers
anothersub-menu.Otherwise,itisactualvalueoftheoption.
•Labelcolumn: brieflydescribesthemeaningofeachoptioninthe
menu.
•„Enteranoptionnumber…>“: call fortheentering oftheoption
number.

Someofthe configuration parametersmaybe ofoneormore fixed values.If
youselectsuchitemofthe menu,itsvalueischanged immediately totheopposite
statecomparedtothe statebeforetheselection.Typicalexamplesarethe
parametersofthevalues on or off.Ifthevalue ofsuchitemis on,thenafterits
selectionthevalueisswitched to off andviceversa.

Somecommandsrealisethe operations,whichsignificantly influencethe
behaviourofwholesystem(e.g.restartoftheunit).Beforetheirrealisation,the
systemusually confirms, that you reallywishtheirrealisation.

commandwill beaborted.
Thecall forentering of anyinformation may beabortedatanytimeby
pressingthe button, andthecommand realisation will beaborted.
4.1.3.Aboutmenus…
Mainmenu: isdisplayedafterconnectionofthe serialcabletothe terminal.From
the mainmenu,wemaygettotheconfigurationmenu,change theadministrator
passwordsortodisplaythehelp.
Configurationmenu: containstwosub-menus:networkconfiguration andserial
consoleconfiguration.
Networkconfiguration: servesforsettingofthe IPaddress,networkmask,initial
router, DNSserveraddresses, networknameand domain.
Serialconsoleconfiguration: enablessetting ofthe terminaltype and change the
initialparametersof the serialline–speed, numberof databitsandstopbits, parity
and typeoftheflowcontrol.
4.1.4.Monitoring of the DTR signal
Thefirmwarecontinuouslymonitorsthe DataTerminalReady(DTR)signal.
Thissignalisusedfordetectionofpresenceorabsenceofthe connectionofthe
terminalforthe serialport of theconsole.
Following activitieswillberealised afterdetection oftheterminal
disconnection:•Initialisedoperationswill beaborted
•Mainmenuwillbedisplayed

4.2.Access fromthe web browser
Whiletheserialconsole interfaceenableschangingofonlybasicparameters,the settingof
all parametersofthe VoIPmoduleandallitsservicesisavailableviathewebbrowser.
Connectionwiththemoduleisstarted byenteringtheIPaddress ofthe
moduleintotheline forenteringof theInternetaddress,e.g.:
http://10.0.0.1
Ifeverythingisconnectedproperlyand IPaddressesofthemoduleandPC
withthewebserveraresetcorrectly,promptforentering oftheusernameand
passwordshouldbedisplayed.
The producerdeliverstheVoIPmoduleswithpre-set user
name Admin withoutthe password. Theusernameand
passwordarecasespecified.One offirstoperationshouldbe
changeofthe administratorpasswordduetothe safety.
