Media Tablet Ultimate is a large, 9.5” (24cm) professional graphics tablet.
Advanced functions such as the battery-less pen with tilt sensitivity, 4000 Lpi
resolution and the ergonomic design for left- and right-handed users makes
it the best choice for illustrating, sketching or photo editing. Bundled with a
full version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0, Media Tablet Ultimate offers a
complete package for private and professional users. It has been designed
for graphic designers and fulfils demands for photo editing, illustration, page
layout and art drawing. Suitable for both right- and left-handed users.
Before you start enjoying this product we recommend that you read this
manual and follow the instructions step by step to get the best results from
your new graphics tablet.

System Requirements
For the successful use and installation of your tablet, the following minimum
system specifications are required:

Driver Installation
Before starting with the driver installation please make sure that the tablet is
not connected to your PC or MAC.
Windows System:
1. Insert the Driver CD for Windows into your CD drive and wait until
the auto start window appears. On Windows Vista and Windows 7
you can confirm the Action by pressing >>Continue<< if the User
Access Control window appears.
2. Simply follow the steps onscreen to finish the installation, then
restart your computer
MAC System:
1. Insert the Driver CD for MAC into your CD drive and wait until the
Drive is loaded.
2. Click on the tablet icon and simply follow the steps onscreen to finish
the installation, then restart your computer.
Connecting your Tablet
The Media tablet is designed for left- and right-handed users. To
distinguish between both Modes, Media Tablet Ultimate comes with two
USB ports, one for each orientation. It’s important to use the correct USB
port for the Mode you wish to use.

1. Place the tablet on your desk in the direction you prefer to use it.
2. Select the USB port as shown in the above picture by using the
USB Socket Slider.
3. Connect the Media Tablet Ultimate to your PC or MAC with the
supplied USB cable. We recommend that you do not to connect
it to Hubs or front USB ports of your PC tower.
4. After connection, the large white Mode LED will light and the
small white left/right-hand indicator LED will also light.

Knowing your Tablet
1. Working Area: The working area is the active area where the pen
responds. The usage is different to mouse usage. The working area
equates to your monitor and you can directly point to the place you
want to move the mouse to. If you move the pen to the bottom-left
corner, the pointer on your display directly goes to this point. This
makes work much more efficient and much quicker than using a
mouse.

2. Hot Keys: The Media Tablet Ultimate offers 8 Hot Keys in total
which can be programmed freely. More details on how to program
these buttons are explained in >>The Aiptek Control Panel<<
3. Navigation Wheel: The Navigation wheel can be used for vertical
scrolling, zooming in/out or as a volume adjuster. To switch between
these three functions, press the central Mode button in the middle of
the navigation wheel. The Mode LED will change colour to indicate
the current status:

Please note that the navigation wheel will be in the default Vertical Scroll
setting when rebooting the computer or when re-inserting the USB cable.
Knowing your Pen The Media Tablet Ultimate pen is the connection
between your hand and the graphics tablet.
Simply use and hold the pen like a normal pen.
If you move the pen above the tablet at a max.
10mm height, even without touching it you will
see the pointer moving. The pen tip is like the
left mouse button which also offers a double
click function. In addition, the pen presents two
buttons which can be programmed in the Aiptek
Control Panel.

After a time it will be necessary to replace the pen tip. If the tip is no longer
soft or leaves scratches (you will hear a scratching noise) on the graphics
tablet you should replace the tip to avoid any damage to your tablet.
1. The pen tip remover tool is similar to tools you may have at home. Hold
the tip with the open end of the remover tool and pull it out with care.
2. Place the new tip in the pen and gently push it in until the end is
reached. Don’t use to much pressure to avoid damaging the pen.
The Aiptek Control Panel
This paragraph describes the Windows control panel but can be adapted to
the MAC control panel as well.
Restart after driver installation. If connection of your graphics tablet has
been successful you will see a small tablet icon in the Quick Start bar close to
your clock. Click on the icon to open the Aiptek Control Panel. The Control
Panel is divided into 3 main parts
1. Pen: This page offers you a wide range of pen settings to customize
the pen to your needs. Set up the functions as follows:

High Adjusts how sensitively the pen reacts on tilting. Important if you like to use the
pen like a felt pen.

Adjusts the sensitivity of the pen tip and
shows the result in Current Pressure bar.
Use >>Details<< to setup more specific
values for the pen tip.

Adjusts the function of the pen's two
buttons by selecting from a drop-down
list.

Distance Off ~ Large Adjusts the time you have for a double click on pen tip. You can also disable the
function by selecting Off.
2.Mapping: The working area offers a function for you to adjust the
portion of the monitor you’d like to use as an active area for the pen.
On a multi-monitor workstation, it’s also possible to use one monitor
as active area only.

3. Express Keys: This page allows you to program the 8 Hot Keys of
the tablet to your requirements. Simply click on the Key you’d like to
modify and choose one option from the drop down box.

Systemvoraussetzungen
Für eine erfolgreiche Installation und Bedienung Ihres Tablets sind die folgenden
minimalen Systemvoraussetzungen erforderlich:

Treiberinstallation
Bevor Sie mit der Installation des Treibers beginnen stellen Sie bitte sicher, dass das
Tablet nicht an Ihren PC oder MAC angeschlossen ist.
Windows:
1. Legen Sie die Treiber-CD für Windows in das CD-Laufwerk und warten Sie
bis das Auto-Start-Fenster erscheint. Unter Windows Vista und Windows 7
müssen Sie diese Aktion eventuell durch Drücken von >>weiter<<
bestätigen, wenn das User Access Control-Fenster angezeigt wird.
2. Folgen Sie einfach den Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm und beenden Sie
die Installation mit einem Neustart Ihres Systems.
MAC:
1. Legen Sie die Treiber-CD für Mac in Ihrem CD-Laufwerk und warten Sie, bis
diese geladen ist.
2. Klicken Sie auf das Tablet- Icon und folgen Sie einfach den Anweisungen auf
dem Bildschirm. Beenden Sie die Installation mit einem Neustart Ihres
Systems.
Tablet anschließen
Media Tablet wurde für Links-und Rechtshänder entwickelt. Zur Unterscheidung
zwischen den beiden Modi kommt Media Tablet Ultimate mit zwei USB-Ports,
einen für jede Orientierung. Daher ist es wichtig das USB Kabel an den richtigen
USB Port anzuschließen:

1. Legen Sie das Tablet so auf Ihrem Schreibtisch wie sie es später benutzen
möchten.
2. Wählen Sie den USB- Port wie oben im Bild erläutert aus, indem Sie die USB-
Socket Slider verschieben.
3. Schließen Sie das Media Tablet Ultimate an Ihren PC oder MAC mit dem
mitgelieferten USB- Kabel an. Das anschließen an Hubs oder die vorderen
USB- Ports Ihres PCs wird dabei nicht empfohlen.
4. Nach erfolgreicher Verbindung leuchtet die große weiße MODE- LED sowie
die Links- oder Rechtshänder LED (je nach Anschluss) auf.
Das Tablet
1. Arbeitsbereich: Der Arbeitsbereich ist die aktive Fläche, auf welcher der
Stift reagiert. Die Arbeitsweise unterscheidet sich von der Arbeit mit einer
Maus. Der Arbeitsbereich ist identisch mit Ihrem Monitor. Das heißt, Sie
können direkt auf die Stellen gehen wo sie den Mauszeiger hinbewegen
wollen. Wenn Sie den Stift also nach links unten bewegen geht der
Mauszeiger direkt auf Ihrem Display an dieser Stelle. Dies macht das

Arbeiten viel effizienter und viel schneller als mit einer herkömmlichen Maus.
2. Hot Keys: Media Tablet Ultimate bietet 8 Hot Keys, die frei programmiert
werden können. Weitere Details zur Programmierung finden Sie unter
>>Das Aiptek Control Panel<<.
3. Navigation Rad: Die Navigation Rad kann für den vertikalen Bildlauf, zum
Zoomen oder die Lautstärkeregelung verwendet werden. Zum wechseln
zwischen diesen drei Funktionen drücken Sie bitte die MODE- Taste in der
Mitte des Navigationsrad. Die MODE-LED zeigt die aktuelle Auswahl an.

Bitte beachten Sie, dass sich das Navigation Rad standardmäßig in vertikalen
Scroll-Modus befindet nachdem der Computer neu gestartet wurde oder das USB
Kabel abgesteckt wurde.
Der Stift
Der Stift des Media Tablet Ultimate ist die
Verbindung zwischen Ihrer Hand und dem
Grafiktablett. Verwenden Sie den Stift einfach wie
einen normalen Stift. Wenn Sie mit dem Stift in
max. 10mm Entfernung über das Tablet fahren
ohne das Tablet zu berühren, können Sie die
Bewegung des Zeigers auf dem Bildschirm sehen.
Die Spitze des Stiftes funktioniert wie die linke
Maustaste und bietet auch die
Doppelklick-Funktion. Darüber hinaus bietet der
Stift zwei Tasten welche über das Aiptek Control
Panel mit Funktionen belegt werden können.

Nach einiger Zeit ist es notwendig, die Stiftspitze auszutauschen. Wenn die Spitze
nicht mehr weich über das Tablet läuft oder sogar Kratzer oder Kratzgeräusche
verursacht ist es nötig die Spitze auszutauschen um Mögliche Beschädigung am
Tablet zu vermeiden.
1. Verwenden Sie die Stiftspitzen- Zange wie ein klassisches Werkzeug, das Sie
von zu Hause aus kennen. Greifen Sie die Spitze mit dem offenen Ende der
Zange und ziehen Sie die Spitze mit Sorgfalt heraus.
2. Legen Sie die neue Spitze in den Stift und drücken Sie diese vorsichtig herein,
bis das Ende erreicht ist. Verwenden Sie dabei nicht zu viel Druck, um
Beschädigungen des Stifts zu vermeiden.
Das Aiptek Control Panel
Dieser Abschnitt bezieht sich auf das Control Panel unter Windows, kann aber
aufgrund der Ähnlichkeit auch für MAC OS verwendet werden.
Nach der Treiberinstallation, einem Neustart und der erfolgreichen Verbindung des
Tablets mit ihrem PC finden Sie ein kleines Tablet-Symbol in der Schnellstartleiste in
der Nähe der Uhr. Klicken Sie auf das Icon um das Aiptek Control Panel zu öffnen. Das
Control Panel ist in 3 Hauptteile gegliedert:

Stift, um diesen an Ihre Bedürfnisse anzupassen. Passen Sie diese wie folgt

Distanz der Spitze Aus ~ Groß Stellt die Geschwindigkeit für den Doppelklick der Stiftspitze ein. Sie können die Funktion
auch deaktivieren, indem Sie >>aus<<
wählen.
5. Arbeitsbereich: Über den Arbeitsbereich können Sie den aktiven Bereich
des Monitor mit dem des Tablets anpassen. Es ist auch möglich, nur einen
Monitor als aktive Fläche zu nutzen.

konfigurieren. Klicken Sie einfach auf die Taste, die Sie ändern wollen und
