OPENING THE TAILGATE FROM INSIDE
With the tailgate unlocked, lift the
button (1) fig.5 to open it from inside
the car.

FROM OUTSIDE
(where provided)
The buttons on the tailgate interior trim
operate:

and lock all the doors, including the
tailgate.
To stop the tailgate moving, press either
of the two close buttons.

1) Do not swallow the battery. Danger of
chemical burns. The keys contain a small
battery. If the battery is swallowed, it
can cause severe internal burns in just 2
hours and cause death. Keep new and used
batteries out of the reach of children. If
the battery compartment does not close
securely, discontinue use of the product
and keep it out of reach of children. If you
believe that batteries may have been
swallowed or inserted inside the body,
seek medical attention immediately. The
emergency key (where provided) must be
immediately inserted into the electronic
key to prevent easy access to the battery.

2) Always take the key with you when
you leave your car to prevent someone
from accidentally operating the controls.
Remember to engage the electric parking
brake. Never leave children unattended
in the car.
3) Before leaving the car, ALWAYS engage
the electric parking brake. Activate mode
P (Park) and press the ignition device
to set it to STOP. When leaving the car,
always lock all the doors by pressing the
button on the handle.
4) For versions equipped with the Keyless
Start system, do not leave the electronic
key inside or near the car or in a place
accessible to children. Do not leave the
car with the ignition device in the ENGINE
position. A child could activate the electric
window winders, other controls or even
start the car.

Turn the light switch (1) fig.16 to
to switch on the side lights, the lights
on the instrument panel and the dipped
beam headlights.
The warning light switches on in the
instrument panel.

With the ignition device in the ENGINE
position and the light switch (1) fig.16
turned to the position, the daytime
running lights, the rear light clusters
and the number plate lights turn on
automatically.
REAR FOG LIGHT
Press the button (2) fig.16 to switch
the light on.
PARKING LIGHTS
They are turned on if the light switch (1)
fig.16 is turned first to the position
and then to the position within a few
seconds from stopping the engine.
The warning light switches on in the
instrument panel.
MAIN BEAM HEADLIGHTS
Push the left stalk forward towards
the instrument panel (2) fig.1. The light
switch must be turned to the or
position.
With main beam headlights on, the
warning light/icon on the instrument
panel will come on.
The main beam headlights are switched
by pushing the left stalk forward again.
DIRECTION INDICATORS
Move the left stalk (2) fig.1 to the end
of its travel (unstable position) up (right
indicator) or down (left indicator).
Warning light or will blink on the

"Lane Change" function
When you want to signal the change of
the driving lane, move the lever until the
first impulse (about half stroke).

The direction indicator on the side
selected will be activated for 3 flashes
and then go out automatically.
AUTO FUNCTION Dusk sensor
This function switches the headlights
on/off automatically according to the
environmental light.
With the ignition device in the ENGINE
position, turn the light switch (1) fig.16
to the position.
Headlight alignment corrector
(where provided)
It only operates with the ignition device
in the ENGINE position.
To adjust it, rotate the ring (3) fig.16:
Position 0: 1 or 2 occupants on
front seats;
Position 1: 4 or 5 occupants;
Position 2: 4 or 5 occupants + a load
distributed evenly in the boot;
Position 3: driver + maximum
admissible load evenly distributed
in the boot.
WARNING Check the headlight position
every time the load weight is changed.
5) The daytime running lights are an
alternative to the dipped headlights for
driving during the daytime in countries
where it is compulsory to have lights on
during the day; where it is not compulsory,
the use of daytime running lights is
permitted.
6) Daytime running lights cannot replace
dipped beam headlights when driving
at night or through tunnels. The use
of daytime running lights is governed
by the highway code of the country in
which you are driving. Comply with legal
requirements.
iTPMS indirect Tyre Pressure
Monitoring System

The car can be equipped with the iTPMS
(indirect Tyre Pressure Monitoring
System) which monitors the tyre
inflation status.
The system warns the driver if one or
more tyres are flat by turning on the
symbol on the instrument panel and
showing a warning screen fig.17on the
display along with an acoustic warning.
This warning is displayed also when
turning the engine off and on again until
the RESET procedure is carried out.
Before carrying out the RESET
procedure, inflate the tyres to the
rated pressure values specified in the
inflation pressure table (see the chapter
in the "Wheels" section).
Follow the instructions in the online
Owner Handbook for the RESETTING
procedure.
The system is active for speeds above
15km/h.
If the system is temporarily deactivated
the symbol flashes for about 75
seconds and then is continuously on;
at the same time, the display shows a
warning message and the symbols "– –"
will appear next to the shape of the car
next to each tyre.

7) The presence of the iTPMS does not
permit the driver to neglect regular
checks of the tyre pressure and correct
maintenance: the system is not used to
signal a possible fault to a tyre.
8) Tyre pressure must be checked with
tyres rested and cold. Should it become
necessary for whatever reason to check
pressure with warm tyres, do not reduce
pressure even though it is higher than the
prescribed value. Repeat the check when
the tyres are cold.
9) Should one or more wheels be fitted
without sensors, the system will no longer
be available and a warning message will
be shown on the display, until wheels with
sensors are fitted again.
10) The iTPMS cannot indicate sudden
tyre pressure drops (e.g. if a tyre bursts).
In this case, stop the car, braking with

11) Changes in external temperature may
cause tyre pressures to vary. The system
may temporarily indicate insufficient
pressure. In this case, check the tyre
pressure when cold and, if necessary,
restore the inflation values.

The gear lever fig.18 can be moved to
the following positions:
P= Park
R= Reverse
N= Neutral
D= Drive (automatic forward speed)
AutoStick:

The transmission is mechanically locked
in position P.
The gear lever movement between
positions P, R, N and D may only be
made when the car is stationary and the
engine is idling.
To shift the lever out of PARK with the
ignition key in the MAR position, press
the brake pedal and press the button (1)
fig.18located on the gear lever.
ELECTRIC MOTOR "e-machine"

The transmission is mechanically
connected with a synchronous electric
motor with 48V double three-phase
winding.
The functions of the electric motor are:

12) Never use position P (Park) instead of
the electric parking brake. Always engage
the electric parking brake when parking
the car to avoid the accidental movement
of the car.
13) If the P (Park) position is not engaged,
the car could move and injure people.
Before leaving the car, make sure that
the gear lever is in position P and that the
electric parking brake is engaged.
14) Do not shift the gear lever to N
(Neutral) and do not stop the engine when
driving on a downhill road.This type of
driving is dangerous and reduces the
possibility of intervention in the event of
sudden changes in traffic flow or the road
surface. You risk losing control of your car
and causing accidents.
15) NEVER leave children unattended
inside the car, let alone leave the car with
the doors unlocked in a place that children
can access easily. Children may seriously,
or even fatally, injure themselves. Also
ensure that children do not inadvertently
operate the electric parking brake, the
brake pedal or the gear lever.

The car is equipped with an on-board
assistance function designed to provide
support in the event of and accident
and/or emergency. The emergency
call, also known as "eCall", which is
required by law in the countries of the
European Union (EU eCall) based on the
emergency number 112, can be used
to call for help quickly in dangerous
situations.
The EU eCall emergency call activates
the voice call to the Operations Centre
dedicated to emergency calls (112)
with simultaneous activation of the
transmission of the car data and geo-
location. The EU eCall service is a public
service of general interest and free of
charge.
The EU eCall function can be activated:
automatically, in the event of a
major impact recorded by the
device through the presence of on-
board sensors
manually, holding the SOS button
located on the ceiling light fig.20

After automatic or manual activation by
pressing the SOS button, the function
will send the car data to the Operations
Centre, including the geo-location
data of the data, and a voice call will
be initiated with an operator. If the EU
eCall function does not work, the fault
in the system will be indicated on the
instrument panel display. Go as soon as
possible to an Alfa Romeo Dealership to
have the function repaired.
The EU eCall function is active with
the ignition device in ENGINE or STOP
position.
The EU eCall is available in the STOP
position for 10 minutes after the
ignition device is switched from the
MAR position to STOP.
This condition is only valid for vehicles
equipped with an SOS call that complies
with the legal regulations in the
countries where it is provided.
Once activated automatically (where
provided) or manually by pressing the
corresponding button, the EU eCall
function will send the position data of
the car to the Operations Centre and
establish a voice call with an operator.
NOTE If the EU eCall function does
work, the fault in the system will be
indicated on the display. Go as soon as
possible to an Alfa Romeo Dealership to
have the function repaired.
NOTE The correct operation of the EU
eCall function will be guaranteed only by
a good network coverage.
Interrupting a call
If the SOS call button is pressed
by mistake, it is possible to press it
again within 10 seconds to cancel the
operation. After 10 seconds, only the
operator of the Operation Centre can
interrupt the call.
If you are able to speak to the operator,
do so through the car audio to provide
additional information about the
request for help.
If the Operations Centre needs to
contact the car again, the system can
receive, for up to 120 minutes from the
ending of the call with the operator, an
incoming call, which will be accepted
automatically. Until the end of 120
minutes, the system will be completely
dedicated to the management of the
emergency in progress, therefore it will
not be able to provide any connectivity
service.
CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEMS
For optimal protection in the event
of an impact, all occupants must
be seated and wearing adequate
restraint systems, including newborn
and other children! This prescription
is compulsory in all EC countries
according to EC Directive 2003/20/EC.

16) Incorrect fitting of the child restraint
system may result in an inefficient
protection system. In the event of an
accident, the restraint system could
come loose and the child could be fatally
injured. When fitting a restraint system
for newborns or children, strictly comply
with the instructions provided by the
Manufacturer.
17) When the child restraint system is not
used, secure it with the seat belt or with
the ISOFIX anchorages, or remove it from
the car. Do not leave it unsecured inside
the passenger compartment. This prevents
injury to occupants in the event of sudden
braking or an accident.

18) After installing a child restraint
system, do not move the seat: always
remove the child restraint system before
making any adjustment.
19) Always make sure that the belt strap
does not pass under the child’s arms or
behind its back. In the event of an accident,
the seat belt will not be able to restrain the
child, which could result in injury or death.
Therefore the child must always wear the
seat belt correctly.
20) Do not use the same lower anchoring
to install more than one child restraint
system.
21) If a Universal ISOFIX child restraint
system is not fixed to all three anchorages,
it will not be able to protect the child
correctly. In a crash, the child could be
seriously or fatally injured.
22) Fit the child restraint system when
the car is stationary. The child restraint
system is correctly secured to the
brackets when you hear the click. Follow
the instructions for assembly, disassembly
and positioning that the Manufacturer
must supply with the child restraint
system.
23) SEVERE DANGERWhen a front
passenger airbag is fitted, do not install
rearward facing child restraint systems
on the front passenger seat. Deployment
of the airbag in a crash could cause fatal
injuries to the child regardless of the
severity of the collision. It is advisable to
always carry children in a child restraint
system on the rear seat, which is the
most protected position in the event of a
collision.
24) On the sun visor there is a label with
suitable symbols reminding the user that
it is compulsory to deactivate the airbag
if a rearward facing child restraint system
is fitted. Always follow the instructions on
the passenger-side sun visor.
25) Should it be necessary to carry a
child on the passenger side front seat in
a rear facing child restraint system, the
passenger side front and side airbags
must be deactivated through the main
menu of the Alfa Connect system,
verifying deactivation by checking that
the OFF LED on the front ceiling light is
lit. Move the passenger's seat as far back
as possible to avoid contact between the
child seat and the dashboard.
26) Do not move the front or rear seat if
a child is seated on it or on the dedicated
child restraint system.
