use of such equipment can reduce hazards
caused by dust.
Use and care of power tools
• Do not overload power tools. Use the correct
tools for the job. The correct power tool will do
the work it was designed to do better and safer.
• Do not use power tools that cannot be turned
on and off with the switch. Any power tool that
cannot be operated with the switch is danger-
ous and must be repaired.
• Always remove the battery before making any
adjustments, changing accessories or when
storing unused power tools. These precautions
reduce the risk of accidentally starting the pow-
er tool.
• Keep unused power tools out of the reach of
children and do not allow persons unfamiliar
with the power tool or these instructions to use
the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in
the hands of inexperienced users.
• Maintaining power tools. Check the adjustment
and mobility of the moving parts, focusing on
cracks, broken parts and any other circum-
stances that may compromise the function of
the power tool. If the tool is damaged, it must
be repaired before use. Many accidents are
caused by poorly maintained power tools.
• Cutting tools must be kept sharp and clean.
Properly maintained and sharpened cutting
tools are less likely to catch on material or jam
and are easier to control.
• Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits
etc., in accordance with these instructions and
in the manner intended for the particular pow-
er tool, taking into account the working con-
ditions and the work to be performed. Using
power tools for activities other than those for
which they are designed can lead to danger-
ous situations.
Use and maintenance of cordless tools
• Only charge using the charger specified by the
manufacturer. A charger that may be suitable
for one type of battery pack may cause a fire
risk when used with another battery pack.
• Only use the tool with a battery that is specifi-
cally designed for it. The use of any other bat-
teries may cause an injury or fire risk.
• When the battery is not in use, protect it against
contact with other metal objects, such as paper
clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small
metal objects that may cause one battery con-
tact to come in contact with another. Short-cir-
cuiting the battery terminals may cause burns
or fire.
• If used incorrectly, liquids may leak from the
battery; avoid contact with them. In the case of
accidental contact with these fluids, rinse the
affected area with water. In addition, seek med-
ical attention if fluid gets into your eyes. Liquids
escaping from the battery can cause inflamma-
tion or burns.
Service
• Have your power tool serviced by a qualified
person using identical replacement parts. This
will ensure the same level of safety of the pow-
er tool as before the repair.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR HEDGE TRIM-
MERS:
• Do not touch the cutting blade with any part
of your body. When the blades are moving, do
not remove the cut parts of the branches or
hold them in your hand when trimming. When
removing jammed branch parts, make sure the
switch is in the "off" position. A moment’s in-
attention while working with a hedge trimmer
can result in serious personal injury.
• Carry the hedge trimmer by holding the handle
with the cutting blade stopped. Always attach
the cutting tool cover when transporting or
storing the hedge trimmer. The correct han-
dling of the hedge trimmer reduces the po-
tential risk of personal injury from the cutting
blades.
• Only hold the power tool by the insulated
gripping parts, as the cutting blade can touch
hidden electrical wiring. A cutting blade that
touches a "live" wire can cause the uninsulated
metal parts of the power tool to become "live"
and can result in an electric shock.
• Check the hedge to be trimmed for foreign ob-
jects, such as wire fences.
• Hold the hedge trimmer with both hands.
