5. Before First Use

6. Operation

6.1 Power supply

If operation by mains power is not possible,

the radio can be powered by batteries�

NOTICE

Do not use this product

with AC supply and battery operation

simultaneously�

Remove all of the batteries when operating

this product via the power adaptor�

1� Mains operation

Insert the DC plug of the power adaptor

into the DC input socket DC 5V. Then

plug the power adaptor into a mains

outlet�

2� Battery operation

– Open the battery compartment�

– Insert 4 x 1�5V batteries (type AA/

LR06, not included)� Make sure the

polarity is correct as indicated�

– Close the battery compartment�

6.2 Language setup

1� Extend the antenna� The product

automatically runs a full scan for DAB/

DAB+ stations�

2� After the full scan, press and hold

Menu/Info button� Select <System> by

pressing the Prev or Next buttons� Press

the Vol / Select knob to conﬁrm�

3� Use the same method as the previous

step to select <Language> and then

select the language as desired�

1� Adjusting the antenna

For optimal reception, extend the

antenna; move to fully extend and adjust

it�

2� Turning the product on/off (standby)

Push the on/off switch to ON� Press

the Standby button to turn on/off the

The volume can be adjusted during

playback with the volume control Vol�

4� Station information

Brieﬂy press the Menu/Info button

on each station to display various

information such as radio text, station

If there is no DAB reception

at any time, change the position of the

product or adjust the antenna�

Press Mode to select DAB mode�

When the radio is switched on for the ﬁrst time,

it will automatically do a full scan of DAB/DAB+

stations� The list of stations is then stored,

eliminating the need for another full scan when

the radio is turned on next time�

When the scan is complete, the stations are

stored in alphabetical order� The ﬁrst available

station will be played back�

6.4.1.Changing DAB/DAB+ stations

1� Press the Prev or Next buttons in DAB

mode to navigate available DAB/DAB+

stations�

2� Press Select to conﬁrm�

6.4.2.Auto scan in DAB mode

NOTICE

New stations and services

are added to the stored DAB/DAB+

stations� In order to make new DAB/DAB+

stations and services available on your

radio, run a full scan at regular intervals�

»Press and hold the Menu button in DAB

mode and then the Prev or Next buttons

until <Full scan> appears on the display�

Press Select to conﬁrm�

»The product scans all available DAB/

DAB+ stations and plays the ﬁrst

available station� Alternatively, you

can activate the auto scan function by

pressing Scan�

6.4.3.Displaying station information

1� Select a DAB station�

2� During DAB/DAB+ radio playback, press

Menu repeatedly to display the following

information (if available):

– Ensemble

– Frequency

– Signal frequency error

– Audio state and bit rate

– Time

– Date

– Radio text

– Signal strength

– Programme type

– Power status (mains or battery)

6.4.4.Manually storing DAB stations

You can store up to 20 preset DAB/DAB+

stations�

NOTICE

If there is already an existing

DAB station stored under a preset, it will

be overwritten when you store the new

station�

1� Select the desired station�

2�

Press and hold Preset for one second and

then conﬁrm by pushing Select so that

<Preset 1 stored> appears on the display�

3� Repeat steps 1 to 2 to store more DAB/

DAB+ stations�

4� Alternatively you can fast-preset your

favourite top 3stations by pressing

and holding the 1-2-3 button for

approximately 2seconds until “Preset

X stored” is displayed, where “XX” is the

number of the preset (1–20)�

6.4.5.Selecting preset DAB stations

1� Press Mode to select DAB/DAB+ mode�

2� Press Preset to access the Preset menu

<Preset Recall> <#: stored station

name>.

3� Use the Prev or Next buttons to select a

preset number and conﬁrm your selection

In DAB mode, press and hold Menu; the

display shows [Full scan], use the Prev or

Next buttons to browse the menu options�

»There are 3 ways to select an FM station�

– Manual frequency selection

Press the Prev or Next buttons to

change the frequency at intervals of

0�05MHz�

– Automatic frequency selection

Press the Prev or Next buttons for

1–2seconds and the radio will stop

searching once an active station has

been found�

– Press the Scan button to quick search

and play the next received station�

6.5.3.Storing FM stations

You can store up to 20 preset FM stations�

NOTICE

If there is already an existing

FM station stored under a preset, it will

6.6 Bluetooth®mode

This mode allows you to use the radio

as a speaker for an external device (e�g�

mobile phone or MP3 player)� The signal is

transmitted wirelessly via Bluetooth®�

Before playback, you must

pair the radio (in this case the Bluetooth®

receiver) and the device (transmitter)�

1� Press the Mode button until

<Bluetooth> appears on the display� The

product is in Bluetooth®mode�

2� Activate the Bluetooth®function on the

playback device� If necessary, make a

search for Bluetooth®devices� Pair your

playback device with BERNARD

Mono 2� The devices are now connected;

you will hear a voice prompt that says,

“Bluetooth connected successfully”�

3� To end the Bluetooth®connection:

– Turn off the Bluetooth®function on

the playback device or press and

hold the Select button; you will hear

a voice prompt that says, “Bluetooth

disconnected”�

– Change the Mode�

1� Start the music playback on the audio

device or press the Select button on the

skip a title forward or backward�

– <Daily> The alarm is activated daily�

– <Once> <DD-MM-YYYY> (set date)

The alarm is activated only once� The

date must be speciﬁed�

– <Weekends> The alarm is activated

on Saturdays and Sundays�

– <Weekdays> The alarm is activated

from Monday to Friday�

NOTICE

When <DAB> or <FM> is

selected, <last listened> is displayed�

7� Volume bar is displayed� Adjust the

6.1 Alimentation

pas possible, la radio peut être alimentée par

des piles�

REMARQUE N'utilisez pas ce

produit avec une alimentation CA et un

fonctionnement sur piles simultanément�

Retirez toutes les piles lorsque vous utilisez

ce produit par le biais de l'adaptateur

électrique�

3� Fonctionnement sur réseau secteur

Insérez la ﬁche CC de l'adaptateur

secteur dans la prise d'alimentation

DC 5V� Branchez ensuite l'adaptateur

électrique à une prise secteur�

4� Fonctionnement sur piles

– Ouvrez le compartiment à piles�

– Insérez 4xpiles 1,5V (type AA/LR06,

non fournies)� Assurez-vous que la

polarité est correcte, comme indiqué�

– Fermez le compartiment à pile�

6.2 Réglage de la langue

1� Déployez l'antenne� Le produit effectue

automatiquement un balayage complet

des stations DAB/DAB+�

2� Après le balayage complet, maintenez

pressé le bouton Menu/Info�

Sélectionnez <Système> en pressant les

Lorsque la radio est allumée pour la première

fois, elle effectue automatiquement un balayage

complet des stations DAB/DAB+� La liste des

stations est ensuite mémorisée, ce qui évite

d'avoir à effectuer un nouveau balayage

complet lors de l'utilisation suivante de la radio�

Une fois le balayage terminé, les stations

sont mémorisées par ordre alphabétique� La

première station disponible est diffusée�

mémorisez la nouvelle station�

Maintenez pressé Preset pendant une
