dener, at its sole discretion, will repair or replace the unit free of charge.
Proof of purchase is required to validate the warranty period.
This warranty does not cover normal wear items such as the blade and

WARNING: When using this tool, basic safety precautions should always be followed to
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury, including the following:
To reduce risk of injury:
•Before any use, be sure everyone using this electric product reads and understands all
safety and operation instructions contained in this manual.
•Save these instructions and review frequently prior to use
•UNIT PARTIALLY CHARGED – The YardSaw™ Pole Pruner is shipped in a partially
charged stage, so handle the unit with care during unpacking.
•AVOID DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENTS and weather conditions when using this
tool. Do not use in the rain.
•KEEP CHILDREN AWAY – All visitors should be kept at a safe distance from work
area.
•STORE IDLE UNIT INDOORS –When not in use, the unit should be stored indoors in
a dry location – out of reach of children.
•DON’T FORCE THE TOOL – It will do the job better and with less likelihood of a risk
of injury at the rate for which it was designed.
•USE RIGHT TOOL – Do not use the tool for any job except that for which it is in-
tended.
•WARNING: KEEP HANDS AND ALL BODY PARTS AWAY from the blade. The
edges are sharp and can cause injury even when the tool is OFF.
•DRESS PROPERLY – Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. They can be caught in
moving parts. Use of gloves and substantial footwear is recommended when working
outdoors. Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair.
•DON’T OVERREACH – Maintain proper footing and balance at all times. Use both
hands to operate unit safely.
•USE SAFETY GLASSES – Always wear proper eye protection, and use a face or dust
mask if operation is dusty.
•USE A HARDHAT – Always wear a hardhat when cutting branches overhead to reduce
the risk of injury from falling branches.
•MAINTAIN UNIT WITH CARE – Keep the unit clean for best performance and to
reduce the risk of injury. Follow instructions for service. Keep handles dry, clean, and
free from oil and grease.
•UNINTENTIONAL STARTING – Don’t carry the YardSaw™ Pole Pruner while
holding the switch area. The unit is shipped partly charged, and may start accidentally if
not handled properly.
•CHECK DAMAGED PARTS – If the Cordless YardSaw™ Pole Pruner experiences a
hard impact, check that no parts were damaged and verify that the unit operates properly.
Check for misalignment or bending of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other
condition that may affect operation. A part that is damaged should be properly repaired or
replaced by a qualified service center.
•STAY ALERT – Watch what you are doing. Use common sense. Do not operate the tool
when you are tired.
•DON’T GRASP THE EXPOSED CUTTING BLADE or cutting edges when picking
up or holding the unit. Do not attempt to remove cut material nor hold material to be cut
when blade is moving. Make sure the unit’s switch is off when clearing jammed material
from blade.
To reduce risk when using charger:
•DO NOT use charger outdoors or in wet conditions; use inside only.

•DO NOT charge the unit when the temperature is below +40 F or above +120 F. It may
lessen the service life of the battery.
•This unit and its charger are designed to work together. DO NOT charge the YardSaw™
Pole Pruner with any other charger and DO NOT use this charger with any other yard
tool or appliance.
•The charger is designed to operate on 120 volts. DO NOT attempt to use it at any other
voltage.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
OPERATIONS
•CHARGE BATTERY PRIOR TO USE – The YardSaw™ Pole Pruner does not come
fully charged when purchased. Before using the unit, the battery must be charged for at
least 16 hours. Before charging the battery, read safety and charging instructions.
•PROPER RUN TIME AND PERFORMANCE can only be obtained with a fully
charged battery.
•CHARGE TIME – Charging for about 16 hours is sufficient to replenish the battery to a
full charge. Initial use, long periods of inactivity, or storage at extreme temperatures may
require extended charge time.
Charging the Battery:
1. Plug the charger into a 120 Volt AC outlet.
2. Plug the end of the charger cord into the charge jack located on the side of the Yard-
Saw™ Pole Pruner (near the back of the control handle).
3. Charge for at least 16 hours.
4. The YardSaw™ Pole Pruner may be left on-charge indefinitely without damaging the
batteries. By leaving the saw on charge, your YardSaw™ Pole Pruner will always be ready
for use.
Charging Notes:
•CAUTION: The charger can only be used with 60 cycle, 120 VAC electricity.
•The charger unit plugged into the AC outlet will normally become warm to touch during
charging.
•SAFE CHARGE – The charger uses constant current charging. The unit will not over-
charge and can be left on charge indefinitely.
•Longest life and best performance will be obtained when charging at normal room tem-
perature.
•Battery life is dependent on usage, storage temperature and time.
BLADE INSTALLATION/REMOVAL
WARNING: Never touch the control end of the YardSaw™ Pole Pruner, nor allow anyone
else to touch it when installing or removing the blade. Severe injury could occur if the saw
is turned on while handling the blade.
Installing the blade
•Insert the provided hex key wrench in the blade clamp screw on the left side of the saw
head. Loosen the screw 5 to 8 turns by turning counterclockwise.
•Insert the blade through the slot in the front of the saw head and in between the blade
carrier and blade clamp. See Figure-1. Insert the blade until the “INSERT” line on the
blade is even with the end of the blade clamp. Also ensure that the slotted hole in the
blade lines up and slides onto the pin on the blade carrier.

•Turn the blade clamp screw clockwise with the provided hex key wrench until tight, and
visually check that there is no gap between the blade clamp and the blade. The wrench
can be stored in a special slot inside the battery door.
NOTE: For increased safety, remove the blade when the unit is not in use. The blade can be
stored on the magnetic holder, marked “Blade Storage,” on the side of the saw head when
not in use.
Removing the blade
•Insert the provided hex key wrench in the blade clamp screw on the left side of the saw
head. Loosen the screw 5-8 turns by turning counterclockwise.
•Remove the blade by pulling it out through the opening in the front of the saw head en-
closure. The blade can be stored on the magnetic holder, marked “Blade Storage,” on the
side of the saw head when not in use. The wrench can be stored in a special slot inside the
battery door.
OPERATING THE YARDSAW™ POLE PRUNER
To turn tool ON
Slide the thumb switch on top of the handle FORWARD. While holding thumb switch
FORWARD, squeeze the trigger switch (under the handle) to start the unit. See Figure-2.
You may release the thumb switch once the unit is running.

Merely release the trigger switch. The thumb switch will snap backward to prevent the trig-
ger switch from being accidentally depressed.

CUTTING TECHNIQUES
Maintain proper balance at all times. Keep hands away from blade. Wear eye and head
protection when using the unit. Hold the YardSaw™ Pole Pruner firmly with one hand on
the pole and the other hand on the control handle and turn ON. See Figure-3.

•Smaller tree limbs may require that a light forward pressure be maintained against the
limb to prevent the limb from shaking. This will allow the blade to cut more easily.
•Begin by standing well back from the area in which you expect the branch to land when it
falls.
•Next, turn the saw so the cutting teeth are facing up and make a small cut on the under-
side of the branch where it joins the trunk of the tree. This cut will lessen the chance that
the bark will tear when the branch separates from the tree. This cut should not be deeper
than the width of the blade.
•Finally, place the blade on top of the branch with the teeth facing down and cut the limb
through to the undercut made in the previous step. See Figure-4. As the blade approaches
cutting through, relax pressure on the saw to help ensure a clean cut.
•If smaller branches become lodged or stuck and will not fall to the ground, the hook just
below the cutting blade can be used to gently pull the branch free from obstructions.
•This unit should NOT be used to cut branches or limbs greater than 3 inches in diameter.
•Watch out for foreign objects. Avoid cutting near wiring or other objects that could jam
the blade or cause a hazardous situation.

•Let the blade do the cutting. Excessive force applied on the saw blade teeth is not neces-
sary and may cause the blade to bind. If this occurs, relax pressure on the branch and let
the blade cut slowly.
•Whenever possible, make cuts that are perpendicular to the branch.
•Never cut branches from the underside except when making an initial small undercut as
described above. Cutting through a branch from the underside will cause the branch to
fold in on the blade and will stall the saw blade.
CAUTION: If the blade becomes jammed or stalled on a branch, limb, or foreign object,
release the trigger immediately. Failure to stop the unit when the blade is jammed will cause
excessive battery drainage, shorten the motor life, and trip the circuit breaker.
Circuit breaker
The unit is equipped with a circuit breaker that will protect from extreme overload to the
motor. To reset the breaker, push in the red button on the left side of the YardSaw™ Pole
Pruner housing.
Clearing Jams
After the blade has completely stopped moving, carefully remove the obstruction. If a
branch’s weight is pinching the blade and causing it to bind, support the branch weight to
free the blade – do not yank the blade free.
CAUTION: To prevent injury, keep hands away from trigger during clearing of jams. To
prevent injury, do not use the YardSaw™ Pole Pruner with any damaged parts. If the unit
continues to jam, call the service number listed below.
Adjusting pole length
CAUTION: DO NOT hold unit vertically when extending or retracting pole. The cutting
head will descend rapidly when clamp ring is loosened, and may cause injury.
To adjust the shaft length, hold the unit horizontally, grasp the clamp ring in one hand and
the clamp base in the other. Unscrew the clamp ring to loosen the clamp. Slide the smaller
shaft in or out to the desired length. Then tighten the clamp knob securely while holding the
clamp base.
MAINTENANCE

BLADE CLEANING – After you have finished cutting, you may find that dirt and vegeta-
tion have accumulated on the blade. Use a dry scrub brush to clean debris off the blade. A
penetrating oil spray can be used to soften hard deposits. Hardened sap can often be cleaned
using an ammonia solution.
WARNING: To prevent injury, keep hands away from the trigger during cleaning of the
blade.
LUBRICATION – No periodic lubrication of YardSaw™ Pole Pruner parts is required.
CLEANING OF PLASTIC PARTS –
Use only a dry brush or a cloth with warm water and mild soap to clean plastic parts. Many
household cleaners contain chemicals, which could damage the plastic. Never use gasoline,
turpentine, paint thinner or similar fluids. Never spray-wash tool or immerse in water. Water
or liquid inside the tool can cause serious damage to the unit.
STORAGE
REMOVE BLADE FOR STORAGE – To prevent injury if the unit is tipped over or falls
during storage, the blade should always be removed from the YardSaw™ Pole Pruner when
not in use. A convenient magnetic holder is built into the side of the cutting head for stor-
age of the blade when not in use. This holder should NOT be used to store extra blades
while the saw is being operated.
TEMPERATURE – Temperature extremes limit the useful life of the battery. The best
storage place is one that is cool and dry. Store the tool away from direct sunlight, heating
pipes, furnaces, etc. Do not store where temperatures go below +40 F or above +120 F.
PREVENTING CORROSION – Fertilizers and other garden chemicals contain com-
pounds that greatly accelerate the corrosion of metals. Do not store the appliance on or adja-
cent to fertilizers or chemicals.
ACCESSORIES
REPLACEMENT BLADES –The cutting blade for the YardSaw™ Pole Pruner was spe-
cifically designed for the tool and substitutions may lead to poor performance and unsafe
operation. Use only American Gardener Replacement Blades (part no. 900061) available at
the retail outlet where the YardSaw™ was purchased.
WARNING: Use only American Gardener accessories and replacement parts. Call cus-
tomer service at [phone] with any questions.
SERVICE
Your YardSaw™ Pole Pruner offers a two-year warranty against failure due to a defect in
material or workmanship. If you experience such a problem, American Gardener, at its sole
discretion, will repair or replace the unit free of charge during the warranty period. Proof of
purchase is required to validate warranty period.
The warranty does not cover components that are subject to normal wear, such as the cutting
blade and batteries. Replacement blades are available for purchase from the retailer where
you bought your product or by calling us at [phone] or visiting our web site at
www.american-gardener.com.
In the unlikely condition that the batteries on this product needs to be replaced during the
first two years of use, you may purchase replacement batteries (two required) direct from

American Gardener for a 30% discount to the normal list price of the battery. . Please visit

BATTERY REPLACEMENT – To replace battery, open the door on the bottom of the
YardSaw™ Pole Pruner by pressing the locking tab, then sliding the door backwards. Once
the door is removed, undo the connector and replace the battery. See Fiugre-5.

WARNING: When replacing the battery, the proper polarity or direction must be ob-
served. Reverse insertion of batteries can result in leakage or explosion. Be sure to follow
the battery installation instructions included with your replacement battery.
BATTERY RECYCLING – To preserve natural resources, please recycle or dispose of
this product’s NICKEL-CADMIUM (NiCd) BATTERY properly. Local, state and federal
laws prohibit disposal of NiCd batteries in ordinary trash. American Gardener is a partici-
pant in the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC) recycling program. We
have paid a fee to allow for these batteries to be properly disposed of via a RBRC collection
site (various retailers are also RBRC participants). Please call the RBRC toll free number of

center near you.
DROPPING THE UNIT – If you drop the unit, carefully inspect it for any damage before
using it again.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
Problem: Unit will not charge
Solution(s):
•Inspect charge connectors on unit and charge rack to insure a proper connection is
made.
•Many outdoor or garage outlets in newer homes are protected by ground fault (GFCI)
circuits to prevent against electrical shock from moisture. Make sure the charger is

completely plugged into wall outlet and that the outlet is in working condition (i.e. not
temporarily disabled by a GFCI protector) a few minutes.
Problem: Cutting or run-time performance is diminished.
Solution(s):
•Please follow the cutting techniques described in this manual for best performance. It
is important to remember to press the unit against the limb while making your cut and
let the orbital cutting action do the work for you.
•If the limb you are cutting is at the end of the branch or is to light or small to be stead-
ied, you should seek to place your cut on a larger diameter or more stable part of the
same branch.
•Inspect blade to make sure its is clean and not bent.
•Make sure the unit is fully charged – see the Operations section of this manual for
charging details. A fully charged YardSaw Pole Pruner™ should cut up to thirty 3”
branches.
Problem: Thumb safety switch is difficult to hold on during use.
Solution:
•The thumb safety switch need only be engaged when starting the unit. There is no
need to keep this switch engaged while using the product.
Problem: Unit will not operate.
Solution:
•Remove the battery door and make sure battery connections are properly connected.
•Check circuit breaker to see that is has not been tripped.

FUNCIONAMIENTO

frecuencia y 115-120 V CA.
•El cargador enchufado en una toma de CA usualmente se sentirá tibio cuando lo toque
mientras esté cargando.
•CARGA SEGURA – El cargador utiliza carga constante de corriente. La unidad no
sobrecargará si se deja enchufada indefinidamente.
•La vida más larga y el mejor rendimiento se obtienen cargando a temperatura normal de
salón.
•La vida de la batería depende del uso, temperatura de almacenaje y el tiempo.
INSTALACIÓN / EXTRACCIÓN DE LA CUCHILLA
ADVERTENCIA: Nunca toque el extremo de control de la vara podadora YardSaw™, ni
permita que nadie la toque mientras instala o extrae la cuchilla. Puede lesionarse
severamente si se enciende la sierra mientras está manejando la cuchilla.
Instalación de la cuchilla
•Inserte la llave hexagonal en el tornillo de la abrazadera de la cuchilla al lado izquierdo
del cabezal de la sierra. Suelte los tornillos de 5 a 8 vueltas girando contra las manecillas
del reloj.
•Inserte la cuchilla por la ranura al frente del cabezal de la sierra y entre el cargador y la
abrazadera de la cuchilla. Vea la Figura-1. Inserte la cuchilla hasta que la línea de
inserción “INSERT” de la cuchilla esté pareja con el extremo de la abrazadera. También
asegure que el orificio con ranura de la cuchilla está alineado y que se desliza sobre el
perno del cargador.

•Gire el tornillo de la abrazadera a favor de las manecillas del reloj usando la llave
hexagonal hasta que esté apretado, y examine que no haya espacio entre la abrazadera y la
cuchilla. La llave se puede guardar en una ranura especial dentro de la puerta de la
batería.

NOTA: Para mayor seguridad, saque la cuchilla cuando la unidad no esté en uso. Cuando
no la use, la cuchilla puede ser almacenada en un sujetador magnético “Blade Storage,”
(almacenamiento de cuchillas) al costado del cabezal de la sierra.
Extracción de la cuchilla
•Inserte la llave hexagonal en el tornillo de la abrazadera de la cuchilla al lado izquierdo
del cabezal de la sierra. Suelte los tornillos de 5 a 8 vueltas girando contra las manecillas
del reloj.
•Saque la cuchilla halándola a través de la apertura al frente del cabezal de la sierra. La
cuchilla puede ser almacenada en un sujetador magnético “Blade Storage,”
(almacenamiento de cuchillas) al costado del cabezal de la sierra. La llave se puede
guardar en una ranura especial dentro de la puerta de la batería.
FUNCIONAMIENTO DE LA VARA PODADORA YARDSAW™
Para ENCENDER
Deslice el interruptor de pulgar que se halla sobre el mango HACIA ADELANTE. Mientras
sostiene el interruptor HACIA ADELANTE apriete el gatillo bajo el mango. Vea la Figura
2. Usted puede soltar el interruptor de pulgar una vez la unidad encienda.

Para APAGAR
Simplemente suelte el gatillo. El interruptor de pulgar enganchará hacia atrás y evitará que
el gatillo sea activado accidentalmente.
TÉCNICAS DE RECORTE
Mantenga un buen balance en todo momento. Aleje las manos de las cuchillas. Use
protección ocular y craneal cuando use la unidad. Sostenga la vara podadora YardSaw™
firmemente con una mano en la vara y la otra en el mango de control y ENCIÉNDALA
(ON). Vea la Figura-3.

•Las ramas pequeñas de los árboles pueden necesitar que mantenga una leve presión
hacia el frente contra la rama, para evitar que la rama tiemble. Esto le permitirá a la
cuchilla cortar más fácilmente.
•Empiece parado lejos del área sobre la cual espera que aterrice la rama cuando la corte.
•Próximo, gire la sierra para que los dientes apunten hacia arriba y haga un pequeño corte
por debajo de la rama donde ésta junta al tronco del árbol. Este corte reducirá la
probabilidad que arranque corteza cuando la rama se separe del árbol. Este corte no debe
ser más profundo que el ancho de la cuchilla.
•Finalmente, ponga la cuchilla sobre la rama con los dientes hacia abajo y corte la rama a
través del corte inferior que usted hizo en el paso anterior. Vea la Figura-4. Según la
cuchilla se aproxima al corte inferior, reduzca la presión sobre la sierra para ayudar a
asegurar un corte limpio.
•Si las ramas más pequeñas se atascan y no caen a tierra, el gancho justo debajo de la
cuchilla de corte puede ser usado para liberar poco a poco a la rama de las obstrucciones.
•NO debe usar esta unidad para podar ramas con un diámetro mayor de 3 pulgadas (7,6
cm).
•Cuídese de los objetos extraños. Evite podar cerca de alambres u otros objetos que
puedan atrancar las cuchillas o causar una situación peligrosa.

•Permita a la cuchilla cortar. Aplicar fuerza excesiva sobre los dientes de la cuchilla
serrada no es necesario y puede causar que la cuchilla se atasque. Si esto ocurre, reduzca
la presión sobre la rama y permita a la cuchilla cortar lentamente.
•Cuando sea posible, corte perpendicularmente a la rama.
•Nunca corte ramas por debajo excepto cuando haga el pequeño corte inferior descrito
arriba. Cortar una rama por debajo causará que la rama se doble sobre la cuchilla y la
detendrá.
PRECAUCIÓN: Si la cuchilla se ATRANCA o se para en una rama, palo u objeto extraño,
suelte el gatillo de inmediato. El no detener la unidad cuando se atranquen las cuchillas
puede agotar excesivamente la batería, acortar la vida del motor y tumbar el cortacircuitos.
Cortacircuitos
La unidad está equipada con un cortacircuitos que la protege de sobrecarga extrema al
motor. Para reconectar el cortacircuitos, presione el botón rojo del lado izquierdo de la caja
de la vara podadora YardSaw™.
Para limpiar obstrucciones
Una vez la cuchilla se detenga completamente, remueva cuidadosamente la obstrucción. Si
el peso de una rama está apretando la cuchilla y haciendo que se atasque, apoye el peso de la
rama para liberar la cuchilla – no hale la cuchilla para liberarla.
PRECAUCIÓN: Para evitar lesiones, mantenga las manos lejos del gatillo mientras limpia
las obstrucciones. Para evitar lesiones, no use la vara podadora YardSaw™ si tiene piezas
dañadas. Si la unidad continúa atascándose, llame al número de servicio escrito abajo.
Para ajustar el largo de la vara
PRECAUCIÓN: NO sostenga la unidad verticalmente cuando extienda o contraiga la
vara. El cabezal de cortar bajará rápidamente cuando suelte la anilla de la abrazadera y usted
puede lesionarse.
Para ajustar el largo de la vara, sostenga la unidad horizontalmente con una mano y la base
de la abrazadera con la otra. Desenrosque la anilla de la abrazadera para soltar la abrazadera.
Deslice la vara más estrecha hacia adentro o hacia fuera para lograr el largo deseado.
Entonces apriete fuertemente el tornillo de la abrazadera mientras sostiene la base de la
abrazadera.

MANTENIMIENTO
LIMPIEZA DE LA CUCHILLA – Una vez acabe de podar, usted puede hallar que se ha
acumulado sucio y vegetación en la cuchilla. Use un cepillo grueso seco para sacar los
desperdicios de las cuchillas. Puede usar un aceite penetrante para ablandar depósitos
endurecidos. Puede usualmente sacar la savia endurecida usando una solución de amoníaco.
PRECAUCIÓN: Para evitar lesiones, aleje las manos del gatillo mientras limpia la
cuchilla.
OTRA LUBRICACIÓN – no necesita relubricar periódicamente ninguna de las piezas de
la vara podadora YardSaw™.
LIMPIEZA DE PIEZAS PLÁSTICAS –
Use solamente un cepillo seco o un trapo con agua tibia y jabón liviano para limpiar las
piezas plásticas. Muchos limpiadores caseros contienen sustancias que pueden dañar el
plástico. Nunca use gasolina, aguarrás, disolvente de pinturas o fluidos similares. Nunca
lave con agua a presión o lo sumerja en agua. Agua o líquido dentro de la unidad puede
causar daño grave a la unidad.
CÓMO GUARDAR
SAQUE LA CUCHILLA AL GUARDAR – Para evitar el riesgo de lesión si la unidad se
vuelca o se cae mientras esté guardada, siempre extraiga la cuchilla de la vara YardSaw™
mientras no la use. Encontrará un conveniente sujetador magnético al costado del cabezal
de corte para guardar la cuchilla mientras no la use. Ese sujetador NO debe usarse para
almacenar cuchillas extra mientras opera la sierra.
TEMPERATURA – Los extremos de temperatura limitan la vida útil de la batería. El
mejor lugar para guardarla es en un lugar fresco y seco. Guarde la herramienta lejos de la
luz directa del sol, tubería de calefacción, hornos, etc. No guarde donde las temperaturas no
estén entre +40 F (4C) a +120 F (48C).
EVITE LA CORROSIÓN – Los fertilizantes y otras sustancias químicas de jardín
contienen compuestos que pueden acelerar grandemente la corrosión de los metales. No
guarde el aparato sobre o cerca de los fertilizantes o sustancias químicas.
ACCESORIOS
CUCHILLAS DE REPUESTO –La cuchilla de corte de la vara podadora YardSaw™ fue
diseñada específicamente para la herramienta y las sustituciones pueden traer rendimiento
inferior y funcionamiento inseguro. Use solamente cuchillas de repuesto American Gardener
(parte no. 900061) disponibles del detallista en donde compró su YardSaw™.
ADVERTENCIA:Solo use accesorios y repuestos American Gardener. Si tiene preguntas
llame a servicio al cliente al [phone].
SERVICIO
Su vara podadora YardSaw™ ofrece una garantía de dos años contra fallos debidos a
defectos de materiales o manufactura. Si usted experimenta tales problemas, American
Gardener, a su discreción única, reparará o reemplazará la unidad sin cargo alguno durante
el período de garantía. Se exigirá prueba de compra para validar el período de garantía.
La garantía no cubre componentes sujetos a desgaste normal, tales como baterías o
cuchillas. Piezas de repuesto están disponibles del detallista donde compró el producto

REEMPLAZO DE BATERÍAS – Para reemplazar las baterías, abra la puerta debajo de la
vara podadora YardSaw™ presionando la oreja de sujeción y entonces deslizando la puerta
hacia atrás. Una vez la puerta esté suelta separe los conectadores y reemplace las baterías.

ADVERTENCIA: Cuando reemplace las baterías, debe observar cuidadosamente la
dirección y la polaridad de las baterías. Insertar las baterías al revés puede resultar en
derrame o explosión. Procure seguir las instrucciones de instalación incluidas con la batería
de repuesto.
RECICLAR LA BATERÍA – Para preservar los recursos naturales, por favor recicle o
deshágase de la BATERÍA DE NÍQUEL-CADMIO (NiCd) de la manera correcta. Las leyes
locales, estatales y federales prohíben deshacerse de las baterías en la basura ordinaria.
American Gardener participa en el programa de reciclaje de la Corporación de Reciclaje de
Baterías Recargables (RBRC). Hemos pagado una cuota para permitir deshacerse de estas
baterías a través de uno de los centros de recolección de RBRC (varios detallistas también

EN CASO DE PROBLEMAS
Problema: La unidad no carga
Solución(es):

•Inspeccione los conectadores de carga en la unidad y el soporte de cargar para asegurar
una buena conexión.
•En muchas casas nuevas, muchas tomas de corrientes en los garajes y fuera de la casa
están protegidas por un interruptor de corto circuito (GFCI) para evitar una descarga
debido a la humedad. Asegúrese que el cargador está completamente enchufado a la
toma y que ésta funciona (i.e. no está desactivada temporalmente por el protector
GFCI).
Problema: El tiempo de corte o el rendimiento está reducido.
Solución(es):
•Por favor siga las técnicas de recorte descritas en el manual para mejor rendimiento. Es
importante recordar presionar contra la rama mientras haga su corte y dejar que la
acción orbital del corte haga el trabajo por usted.
•Si la madera que está podando está al final de la rama o si es muy liviana para
mantenerla estable, usted debe buscar hacer su corte donde haya mayor diámetro o una
porción más estable de la misma rama.
•Inspeccione la cuchilla para ver que esté limpia y derecha.
•Verifique que la unidad esté completamente cargada – vea la sección de
Funcionamiento del manual para detalles sobre como cargar. Una vara YardSaw™
completamente cargada debe cortar hasta treinta ramas de 3” (7,6 cm).
Problema: El interruptor de pulgar es difícil de aguantar durante el uso
Solución:
•El interruptor de seguridad de pulgar se usa solamente cuando enciende la unidad. No
tiene necesidad de mantener el interruptor hacia adelante cuando use el producto.
Problema: La unidad no opera.
Solución:
•Saque la puerta de la batería y verifique que las conexiones de la batería estén bien
hechas.
•Verifique que el cortacircuitos no se ha tumbado.
