to install ANPR camera for the optimal license plate reading.
2.1. Before You Start
The camera installation conditions should meet the following requirements:
• Trees or items should not orobscure the view of the road/vehicle entrance.

To ensure accurate detection and that enough pixels are in the frame, it is required
to select a proper lens.
Steps for choosing the lens:
• Dene the Identication distance of the scene.
• To get the identication distance, dene the camera height (H).
• The detection range (L) can be calculated as L = cot 30° × H ≈ 1.73 x H
• Note: The recommended camera Height (H) is 1,6m to 2m.
2.2. Lens Selection

6
Select a proper lens according to the table below. The identication distance is
based on the camera’s focal length.
The installation angle must meet the requirements below:
• The Vertical angle should not exceed 30 degrees.
• The Horizontal angle should not exceed 30 degrees

3. Camera Setup
If the network has a rewall enabled you may need to enable the camera to access
the remote hosts
it is necessary. The list of services is provided below:
3.1. Prerequisites
A PC or MAC is required to set up the camera. The computer and the camera must
be on the same network. The SADP tool is required for initial camera setup. It can
be downloaded from the link below by typing SADP into the search bar.
https://www.hikvision.com/europe/support/tools/hitools/
Fill in the search bar with SADP and click the link to download the le.
The SADP software locates Hikvision devices that are online on the network. It dis-
plays device information, can activate a selected device, edit the network parame-
ters of the device, and reset the device password.
NOTE: On Windows machines, the SADP tool can display a .dll missing error on
startup. This can be resolved by installing vcredist_x86.exe:
https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x86.exe
3.2. Camera activation
Please keep in mind that the hosts can resolve to multiple IP addresses, which can change at any time.

16
In the SADP tool search the network for available devices:
Once the SADP tool is open any cameras that have not been setup will appear as
Inactive.
• To activate the camera, select the inactive camera and the Activate the Device
window will appear on the right.
• Create a password for the camera.
•NOTE: Please keep in mind that this password is only used for the camera set
up and Web Interface and not for the Parklio™ PMS.
• Once the password has been entered, click the Activate button to turn on the
camera.
• A window will appear with the option of setting security questions or providing
an email address to recover the password if it is lost.

17
Once the password recovery method has been selected, the necessary elds must
be lled out, and the changes must be saved by clicking Conrm.
It is necessary to exit this window after clicking the conrm button because it
does not close automatically after conrmation.
After that, enable DHCP and enter the password created in the Administrator Pass-
word tab before clicking Modify.

18
NOTE: If a static IP address is required, the SADP tool can be used to congure
a static IP address and network parameters by disabling DHCP and entering
network parameters.
Click the refresh button to refresh the SADP tool.
NOTE: If the Ipv4 address is set to 0.0.0.0, refresh the SADP tool by clicking on
refresh or disconnect and reconnect the camera’s Ethernet cable to refresh the
SADP tool.
Then, double-click on the camera’s Ipv4 address to open a new browser window
(or type in the address in the browser address bar).
3.3. Camera web interface
Enter the username and password for the camera’s web interface and click Login.
The default username is admin, and the password is the one you previously set. It
should be noted that the

19
camera’s default user name is always admin. From the camera’s web interface, you
can add new users and change the default name.
Go to VCA ▶ Road trafc ▶ Arming Schedule and Linkage Method.
