Assembly Manual
This manual has been developed to instruct the assembly of our base 3D printer kit. Every attempt has been made for clarity and conciseness, however, should
you have any unanswered questions related to this assembly please contact us via email at [email protected].
Additionally, This manual assumes the end user has a working understanding of the tools and hardware required to complete this assembly, as well as, add the
additional components required to make it a fully operational 3D printer. We can not provide support for components not provided with this kit and encourage the
use of the vast amount of 3D printer information on the Internet.
A few notes to consider while using this manual:
Some hardware items have been removed from the step images for
increased clarity.
The beginning of each step has a complete list of the components
that will be needed during that step, including hardware.
Many of the items have been bagged specific to the particular step
or particular assembly of parts, including hardware.
Some universal hardware items are bagged in bulk; these will be
indicated with a star (

) next to the quantity column on the step
where required.
Some items installed in previous steps may be removed in future
step images for increased clarity.

Step 1 - Frame Assembly

Assemble the extrusions together using the
Internal Angle Brackets on four corners. The
2040 extrusions are for each side and 2020 for
the front and rear.
Ensure the ends of the extrusions are flush to
each other. Double check that the base is square.

Install the SHF8 Shaft Supports to the top side of
the Base Plate with the M5 screws and nuts. Use
the washers between the screws and the Base
Plate.
The base plate is symmetrical front to back. The
orientation of the base plate left/right should be
as shown.
Install the Base Plate on top of the extrusions
with the M5 button head screws, washers and
hammer nuts.

Install the four Rubber Feet in the corners on the
bottom side of the 2040 Extrusions with M5
button head screws, washers and hammer nuts.

3-Way Corner Brackets

Assemble the extrusions together using the
3-Way Corner Brackets. The four 527mm long
are for the vertical corners. 1000mm are front and
rear. 500mm are left and right.
The corner brackets slide into the extrusion and
then the set screw secures them in place by
pressing against the extrusion.

Sit the assembled extrusions on top of the base
assembly from step one. Connect the two by
using the Corner Brackets and M5 Button Heads,
washers and hammer nuts.
Ensure to pull all corners flush to the extrusion
sides by loosely tightening the hardware on each
bracket until they all pull into place and then fully
tighten them in place.

Install the SHF8 Shaft Supports to the Idler Side
Bracket with the M5 Socket Head screws and
nuts. Use the washers between the screws and
the Idler Side Bracket.
Mount the Idler Side Bracket on the left side of
the printer with the M5 Button Heads, washers
and hammer nuts.
The Idler Side Bracket goes on the underside of
the side extrusion with the SHF8 Shaft Supports
on the bottom side.

Install the SHF8 Shaft Supports to the Motor Side
Bracket with the M5 Socket Head screws and
nuts. Use the washers between the screws and
the Motor Side Bracket. Ensure the rectangular
hole is on right as shown.
Mount the Motor Side Bracket on the right side of
the printer with the M5 Button Heads, washers
and hammer nuts.
The Motor Side Bracket goes on the underside of
the side extrusion with the wiring pass through
hole towards the rear.

Install the two Bed Support Angles to the bottom
side of the Bed Support with the M5 hardware.
Use the washers between the screws and the
panel.

Install the two Brass Nuts and four LMF8UU
Shaft Bearings on the top side of the Bed Support
using the M3 hardware. Use the washers
between the nuts and the panel.
Place the Bed Support assembly on top of the
Base Assembly roughly aligning the Shaft
Bearings with the Shaft Supports.

Slide the Linear Shafts through the Upper
Bracket Shaft Supports, Bed Support Shaft
Bearings, and down into the Base Assembly
Shaft Supports. Secure the shafts in place by
tightening the socket head screws on the Shaft
Supports.

CONTINUE THIS STEP IF YOU HAVE STEPPER MOTORS FOR Z - IF NOT, RETURN BACK TO THIS STEP LATER
Install the left side stepper motor to the bottom
side of the Base Plate using the M3 hardware.

Install the right side stepper motor to the bottom
side of the Base Plate using the M3 hardware.
Install the flex couplings to each stepper motor by
sliding the 5mm bore side down onto the stepper
shaft. Secure to the shaft by tightening the lower
coupling screw.

Install the lead screws into each flex coupling by
threading the lead screw down through the brass
nuts until it bottoms into the flex coupling. Secure
to the lead screw by tightening the upper coupling
screw.

M5 x 10 Hex Head Screw
Install the two 800mm Linear Rails onto the long
horizontal front and rear extrusions with the M3 x
8mm Socket Head screws and hammer nuts in
every other hole of the rail. The right side of the
rails should be 4 inches from the right side
extrusion.

Install the Rear APX-252-028, Y Rail Support
Bracket to the two carriage of the back 800mm
rail with the M3 x 8mm Socket Head screws and
washers.
Install the Front APX-252-030, Y Rail Support
Bracket to the two carriage of the front 800mm
rail with the M3 x 8mm Socket Head screws and
washers.

Install the Y Motor Bracket to the Extrusion with
the M5 hardware. The bracket should be ΒΌ inch
from the end.
Install the 400mm Linear Rail onto the Extrusion
with the M3 x 8mm Socket Head screws and
hammer nuts in every other hole of the rail. The
left side of the rail should be β
β inch from the Y
Motor Bracket.

Install the Extrusion (with rail and motor bracket)
centered on top of the Front and Rear Y Rail
Support Brackets. Secure in place with M5 Button
Head screws, washers and Hammer nuts in the
inner holes and M5 Hex Head screws, washers
and Hammer nuts in the outer holes.

Install the BLTouch bracket to the Extruder
Bracket A with the M3 x 10mm Socket Head
screws, four washers and two nuts.
Both parts are slotted which provides ample
adjustment during printer configuration.
