Congratulations on your purchase of this Acoustic
Research Elite Series speaker, the ultimate in stereo-
capable wireless sound and multi-mode lighting. This
speaker offers two setup options:
Single-Speaker setup for one Elite speaker
Stereo setup for two Elite speakers
This guide takes you through the steps for either
setup option.

Getting to know Bluetooth
Bluetooth wireless is a quick and easy way to connect a smartphone to a speaker
or a headset. There are basically two steps to making Bluetooth work.
PAIRING: “Hi. I’m a phone.”
The two devices get to know each other.
The two devices do something together
(like play music).
This guide takes you through the steps to
get started.
CONNECTING:
“Hi. I’m a
speaker.”

Make sure the following items came in this package.
• Wireless speaker • AC power adapter • 3.5mm Aux in cable
Speaker back
Charge the Speaker
The speaker’s built-in rechargeable battery comes from the factory with a
charge, so you can start using the speaker as soon as you get it out of the box.
For best performance, however, we recommend you charge the speaker fully
before using it.
To charge the speaker: Plug the included AC
cable into the DC In jack on the back of the
speaker.
Plug the other end of the adapter into a power
outlet.
The Battery indicator next to the DC In jack is
red while the speaker is charging. It turns green
when the speaker is fully charged.
Note: You can use the speaker while it’s
charging.

If you’ve previously paired a different Bluetooth device with this
speaker, the speaker will automatically attempt to reconnect to
that device when you switch the speaker on. If you want to pair to
a new device, press and hold the button on the speaker until the
speaker gives an audio signal.

To control the volume, press the + and – buttons on the
top of the speaker, or use the volume controls on your
Bluetooth device.
Bluetooth Wireless Connection Tips
• Make sure the Bluetooth capability of your device is turned on.
• Make sure there’s nothing plugged into the speaker’s Aux In jack when
you’re trying to use Bluetooth.
• The Bluetooth wireless connection works up to a range of roughly 33 feet
(10 meters). This range may vary, however, based on other factors, such as
room layout, wall material, obstacles, your device’s Bluetooth performance,
etc. If you’re having problems connecting to the speaker, move closer to it.
• If your device asks you for a password to connect, use “0000”.
Single-Speaker Setup
Note: Make sure your Bluetooth device is set to
at least 75% volume.
How to turn audio responses on and off
This speaker gives you audio responses for common commands—like when
you are starting to pairing with a Bluetooth device or have just finished
connecting.
Turn off all audio responses: Make sure the speaker is on. Press and hold
the Volume + and – simultaneously for 5 seconds.
If you want to turn the speaker’s audio responses back on, simply repeat the
steps for turning them off (press and hold Volume + and – for 5 seconds).

Note: Make sure your Bluetooth device is
set to at least 75% volume.

Using the Aux In input
Use the audio cable included with this speaker to
connect the audio output from your device to the
Aux In audio input on the speaker’s back panel (you
might need to open the rubber flap protecting the
jack). The speaker automatically switches to the Aux
In audio.
If you’re using a single speaker, the button turns
white you’re using the Aux In input. If you’re using
two, the button turns blue, and the stereo link with
the other speaker is turned off while you’re using
the Aux In input.
To listen to Bluetooth audio again, unplug the cable
from the speaker’s Aux In jack.
IMPORTANT: The Aux In
input plays your music on
one speaker only. For two-
speaker stereo, you must use
Bluetooth with two speakers
linked for stereo playback.

Using Multi-Mode Lighting
The Lighting Mode and Color buttons give you
control over this speaker’s built-in multi-mode
lighting. You can use the lighting whether the
speaker’s on or off.
When the speaker’s off...
Press the Mode button to turn white light on or off.
When the speaker’s on...
Press the Mode button to cycle through the multiple
lighting modes:
Solid on gives you a solid light of your color
choice—just press the Color button to see the
options.
Breathe mode slowly fades up and down light in
your color choice (press Color to see the options).
Dance mode and Party mode make the lights
follow the beat of your music and cycle through
the colors.
Press the Color button to cycle through the 8
available colors for Solid on and Breathe modes.

Multi-Mode Lighting Demo
This speaker has a lighting
demo mode that shows off all
of the lighting options.
To activate/deactivate the
lighting demo: Make sure
the speaker’s on. Then press
and hold Mode and Color at
the same time for 10 seconds
(until the demo light show
starts or stops).

Tour of the Elite Series wireless speaker
Top
Volume – and + buttons increase or
decrease the volume of the speaker’s
audio.
Pair button initiates pairing with a
Bluetooth device.
Speaker On/Off button turns the
speaker on and off. It also shows the connection status of each speaker.
If you’re using the Single-Speaker Setup:
Solid blue means the speaker is connected via Bluetooth.
Fast blinking blue means the speaker is ready to pair via Bluetooth.
Slow blinking blue means the speaker is reconnecting via Bluetooth.
Solid white means an audio cable is plugged into the Aux In jack.
If you’re using the Stereo Setup (2 Speakers):
Solid white means the right speaker is linked for stereo sound.
Slow blinking white means the two speakers are trying to link for stereo sound.
Fast blinking white (left speaker only) means this speaker is ready to pair via
Bluetooth.
Solid blue means an audio cable is plugged into the Aux In jack.
Lighting buttons control the speaker’s multi-mode lighting.
When the speaker’s off...
The Mode button turns a white light on or off.
When the speaker’s on...
The Mode button cycles through the multiple lighting modes: Solid on, Breathe mode,
Dance mode, Party mode, and Off.
The Color button cycles through the 8 available colors for Solid on and Breathe
modes.
Back
Battery light shows the charging status of
the speaker’s rechargeable battery: red when
charging, green when fully charged.
DC In jack connects to the AC adapter provided to power the speaker.
Left-Mono-Right switch lets you set up two speakers as a stereo pair (Left and Right).
Otherwise, this switch should be set to Mono.
Aux In jack lets you connect directly to the speaker to listen to an audio source.

Familiarisation avec Bluetooth
La liaison sans fil Bluetooth est une solution rapide et simple pour connecter
un téléphone intelligent à un haut-parleur ou à un casque d’écoute. Il y a deux
étapes fondamentales pour faire fonctionner Bluetooth.
APPARIEMENT : « Bonjour. Je suis
un téléphone. »
Les deux appareils apprennent à se
connaître.
Les deux appareils font quelque chose
ensemble (par exemple, diffuser de la
musique).
Ce guide présente les étapes permettant
de commencer à utiliser le produit.

Déballer
S’assurer que les articles suivants sont inclus dans l’emballage.
• Haut-parleur sans fil • Adaptateur d’alimentation c.a. • Câble Aux in de 3,5 mm

Charger le haut-parleur
La batterie rechargeable intégrée est chargée en usine ce qui permet d’utiliser
le haut-parleur dès son déballage. Cependant, pour obtenir de meilleures
performances, il est recommandé de charger complètement le haut-parleur
avant de l’utiliser.
Pour charger le haut-parleur : Brancher le
câble de chargement c.a. inclus sur la prise DC
In située à l’arrière du haut-parleur.
Brancher l’autre extrémité de l’adaptateur sur
une prise de courant.
Le voyant de charge de la batterie à proximité de
la prise DC In est rouge pendant que le haut-
parleur se charge. Le voyant devient vert lorsque
le haut-parleur est complètement chargé.
Remarque : Il est possible d’utiliser le haut-
parleur pendant qu’il se charge.

5Démarrer la lecture de musique
sur l’appareil Bluetooth.

Le haut-parleur diffuse la musique en
continu grâce à sa connexion sans fil.
Pour contrôler le volume, appuyer sur les boutons + et –
situés sur la partie supérieure du haut-parleur, ou utiliser
les commandes de volume sur votre appareil Bluetooth.
Conseils pour la connexion sans fil Bluetooth
• Vérifier que la fonction Bluetooth de l’appareil est activée.
• Vérifier que rien n’est branché dans la prise Aux In du haut-parleur lorsqu’il
s’agit d’utiliser Bluetooth.
• La connexion sans fil Bluetooth dispose d’une portée d’environ 10 m (33
pi). Cependant, cette portée peut varier en fonction d’autres facteurs,
tels que l’agencement de la pièce, le matériau des murs, les obstacles, la
performance Bluetooth de l’appareil, etc. En cas de problème de connexion
avec le haut-parleur, se rapprocher du haut-parleur.
• Si l’appareil demande un mot de passe pour se connecter, utiliser « 0000 ».
Configuration d’un seul haut-parleur
Remarque : Veiller à régler le volume de votre
appareil Bluetooth à 75 % au minimum.
Activation et désactivation des réponses vocales
Ce haut-parleur donne des réponses vocales aux commandes courantes
comme lors du début de l’appariement à un appareil Bluetooth ou lors de la
fin du processus de connexion.
Arrêter toutes les réponses vocales : Vérifier que le haut-parleur est
en marche. Appuyer simultanément sur les touches Volume + et – et les
maintenir appuyées pendant 5 secondes.
Si la réponse vocale du haut-parleur doit être remise en marche, il suffit de
répéter les étapes à suivre pour l’arrêter (appuyer sur les touches Volume +
et – pendant 5 secondes).

Démonstration de
l’éclairage multimode
Ce haut-parleur dispose d’un
mode de démonstration qui
présente toutes les options
d’éclairage.
Pour activer / désactiver
la démonstration de
l’éclairage : Vérifier que le
haut-parleur est en marche.
Puis appuyer et maintenir
enfoncés les boutons Mode
et Color simultanément
pendant 10 secondes (jusqu’à
ce que la démonstration
d’éclairage commence).
Utilisation de l’entrée Aux In
Utiliser le câble audio inclus avec le haut-parleur pour
connecter la sortie audio de votre appareil à l’entrée
audio Aux In située sur le panneau arrière du haut-
parleur (il sera peut-être nécessaire d’ouvrir le volet
en caoutchouc qui protège la prise). Le haut-parleur
passe automatiquement à audio Aux In.
Si un seul haut-parleur est utilisé, le bouton s’allume
en blanc lorsque l’entrée Aux In est utilisée. Si deux
haut-parleurs sont utilisés, le bouton s’allume en
bleu et la liaison stéréo avec l’autre haut-parleur est
désactivée pendant l’utilisation de l’entrée Aux In.
Pour écouter de nouveau l’audio via Bluetooth,
débrancher le câble de la prise Aux In du haut-parleur.
IMPORTANT : L’entrée Aux
In permet l’écoute sur un
haut-parleur seulement.
Pour une écoute en stéréo
avec deux haut-parleurs,
Bluetooth doit être utilisé
avec deux haut-parleurs
reliés pour la lecture stéréo.

Utilisation de l’éclairage
multimode
Les boutons Lighting Mode et Color (mode d’éclairage
et couleur) permettent d’accéder aux fonctions
d’éclairage multimode intégrées de ce haut-parleur. Il
est possible d’utiliser l’éclairage quand le haut-parleur
est allumé ou éteint.
Lorsque le haut-parleur est éteint... Appuyer sur le
bouton Mode pour allumer ou éteindre l’éclairage blanc.
Lorsque le haut-parleur est allumé...
Appuyer sur le bouton Mode pour faire défiler les
multiples modes d’éclairage :
Solid on (continu) émet une lumière continue avec
un choix de couleur. Il suffit d’appuyer sur le bouton
Color (couleur) pour voir les options.
Breathe mode (mode respiration) la lumière disparaît
et réapparaît lentement avec la couleur de son choix
(appuyer sur la touche Color pour voir les options).
Le Dance mode et le Party mode (modes dance et
fête) permettent à la lumière de suivre le rythme de
la musique et de faire défiler les différentes couleurs.
Appuyer sur le bouton Color (couleur) pour choisir parmi
les 8 couleurs offertes pour les modes Solid on et Breathe.

Les boutons Volume - et + baissent ou
augmentent le son du haut-parleur.
Le bouton Pair (appariement) démarre
l’appariement avec un appareil
Bluetooth.
Le bouton Speaker On/Off du haut-
parleur permet d’allumer ou d’éteindre le
haut-parleur. Il indique aussi l’état de connexion de chaque haut-parleur.
En cas d’utilisation de la configuration d’un seul haut-parleur :
Le Bleu continu indique la connexion du haut-parleur via Bluetooth.
Le clignotement rapide bleu indique que le haut-parleur est prêt pour l’appariement
via Bluetooth.
Le clignotement lent bleu indique la reconnexion du haut-parleur via Bluetooth.
Le blanc continu indique qu’un câble audio est branché dans l’entrée Aux In.
En cas d’utilisation de la configuration stéréo (2 haut-parleurs) :
Le blanc continu indique que le haut-parleur droit a établi la liaison pour un son
stéréo.
Le clignotement lent blanc indique que les deux haut-parleurs tentent d’établir la
liaison pour un son stéréo.
Le clignotement rapide blanc (haut-parleur gauche seulement) indique que le haut-
parleur est prêt pour l’appariement via Bluetooth.
Le bleu continu indique qu’un câble audio est branché dans l’entrée Aux In.
Les boutons Lighting (éclairage) commandent l’éclairage multimode du haut-parleur.
Lorsque le haut-parleur est éteint...
Le bouton Mode allume ou éteint une lumière blanche.
Lorsque le haut-parleur est allumé...
Le bouton Mode permet de faire défiler les multiples modes d’éclairage : Modes
continu, respiration, dance, fête, et éteint.
Le bouton Color (couleur) permet de choisir parmi les 8 couleurs offertes pour les
modes Solid on et Breathe.
Arrière
Le voyant de la batterie (Battery) est rouge
en continu pendant la charge et devient vert
lorsque la charge est pleine.
La prise DC In connecte l’adaptateur c.a. inclus
pour alimenter le haut-parleur.
L’interrupteur Left-Mono-Right permet de configurer deux haut-parleurs en mode stéréo
(gauche et droit). Dans le cas contraire, cet interrupteur doit être placé sur Mono.
La prise Aux In permet la connexion directe au haut-parleur pour écouter une source
audio.

Lo que usted debe saber sobre Bluetooth
Bluetooth inalámbrico es una forma rápida y fácil de conectar un teléfono
inteligente a un altavoz o a un auricular. Básicamente, hay dos pasos para hacer
que Bluetooth funcione.
SINCRONIZACIÓN: “Hola. Soy un
teléfono”.
Los dos dispositivos se conocen entre sí.
Los dos dispositivos hacen algo
conjuntamente (tal como reproducir
música).
Esta guía lo lleva a través de los pasos
para poder comenzar.

Desempaque
Asegúrese que los siguientes artículos estén incluidos en el empaque.
• Altavoz inalámbrico • Adaptador de potencia de CA
• Cable de entrada auxiliar (Aux in) de 3.5mm

Cargue el altavoz
La batería recargable incorporada del altavoz viene cargada de la fábrica, para
que usted pueda comenzar a usar el altavoz tan pronto lo extraiga de la caja. Sin
embargo, para un mejor rendimiento, se recomienda cargar completamente el
altavoz antes de usarlo.
Para cargar el altavoz: Conecte el cable de
CA incluido en el conector DC In ubicado en la
parte posterior del altavoz.
Enchufe el otro extremo del adaptador en un
tomacorriente de potencia.
El indicador de batería que está al lado del
conector DC In se enciende color rojo mientras
el altavoz se está cargando. Éste cambia a color
verde cuando el altavoz está completamente
cargado.
Aviso: Usted puede usar el altavoz mientras
éste está cargando.

1Ponga el interruptor Left-
Mono-Right en la posición
Mono.
2Oprima el botón (altavoz
encendido/apagado) ubicado
en la parte superior del altavoz
para encenderlo.
El botón ubicado en la parte
superior del altavoz comienza a
parpadear en color azul, y el altavoz
dice “Pairing” (Sincronizando).
3Active la función Bluetooth en su dispositivo (si aún no está activada).

Avisos:
Asegúrese que el botón ubicado en la parte superior del altavoz
esté parpadeando en color azul. (De lo contrario, oprima y no suelte
el botón (Pair) ubicado en la parte superior del altavoz hasta que
el altavoz emita una señal de audio).
Si anteriormente sincronizó otro dispositivo Bluetooth diferente con
este altavoz, el altavoz intentará reconectarse automáticamente a
dicho dispositivo cuando encienda el altavoz. Si desea sincronizarse
a un nuevo dispositivo, oprima y no suelte el botón del altavoz
hasta que el altavoz emita una señal de audio.

4Seleccione AR Saratoga en la lista de dispositivos Bluetooth disponibles.
Avisos: Si AR Saratoga no aparece en
la lista de dispositivos Bluetooth de su
teléfono, seleccione “Scan” (Explorar) en
el menú de Bluetooth de su teléfono).
El proceso de activación de Bluetooth
y conexión a través de Bluetooth varía
según el dispositivo. Consulte el manual
del usuario del dispositivo para obtener
información adicional e instrucciones
específicas.
El altavoz dirá “Connected” (Conectado) cuando se conecta con su
teléfono inteligente. El color del botón ubicado en la parte superior del

5Comience a reproducir música
en su dispositivo Bluetooth.

El altavoz comienza a canalizar la
música inalámbricamente.
Para controlar el volumen, oprima los botones + y –
ubicados en la parte superior del altavoz, o utilice los
controles de volumen en su dispositivo Bluetooth.
Consejos para la conexión inalámbrica Bluetooth
• Asegúrese que la función Bluetooth del dispositivo esté activada.
• Asegúrese que no haya nada conectado en el conector Aux In del altavoz cuando
esté intentando utilizar Bluetooth.
• La conexión inalámbrica Bluetooth funciona hasta un alcance de
aproximadamente 33 pies (10 metros). Sin embargo, este alcance puede variar
dependiendo de otros factores, tales como el diseño de la habitación, el material
de las paredes, obstáculos, el desempeño de Bluetooth de su dispositivo, etc. Si
tiene problemas para conectarse con el altavoz, acérquese más.
• Si su dispositivo le solicita un código para conectarse, utilice “0000”.
Configuración de Altavoz Único
Aviso: Asegúrese que el nivel de volumen de su
dispositivo Bluetooth esté ajustado a un 75% como
mínimo.
Para activar o desactivar las respuestas de audio
El altavoz emite respuestas de audio para comandos comunes — como por
ejemplo, cuando se comienza a sincronizar con un dispositivo Bluetooth o
cuando recién se ha conectado.
Para desactivar todas las respuestas de audio: Cerciórese de que el
altavoz esté encendido. Oprima simultáneamente y no suelte los botones
Volume + y – durante 5 segundos.
Si quiere volver a activar las respuestas de audio del altavoz, sencillamente
repita los pasos para desactivarlas (oprima y no suelte los botones Volume +
y – durante 5 segundos).
