INTRODUCTION
This User Manual is intended for introducing LS-25(T) Weatherproof speaker
ARMT.665230.325 manufactured by Armtel LLC, Russia to the User.
LS-25(T) is used to broadcast acoustic signals in outdoor use or in premises in
environments with high humidity, noise, dust and smoke levels including environments with
aggressive gases and chemical vapours, within the broad temperature range.
LS-25(T) can be used in metal, chemical, mining, wood-processing, gas and oil
industries, including rescue services, transport facilities etc.
Short name of the product – LS-25(T).
Maintenance personnel for LS-25(T) shall be appointed by the management at the
installation site.
The maintenance personnel shall be required to know the operating procedure of
LS-25(T) to the extent provided for by the User Manual.
Duties of the maintenance personnel shall include maintenance of LS-25(T) in
accordance with this User Manual.
ATTENTION! In connection with systematic work to improve the design and
manufacturing technology, it is possible some discrepancy between the description and the
supplied product, which does not affect its operation or maintenance.

SAFETY PROVISIONS
During installation and operation of LS-25(T), observe safety precautions laid out in
local regulations on electrical safety.
ATTENTION! NEVER OPERATE THE PRODUCT WITH A DAMAGED COMMUNICATION
CABLE.
To avoid electric shock, do not:
−turn on the product with a damaged cables;
ATTENTION! NEVER DISMANTLE THE PRODUCT CONNECTED TO MAINS.
In order to ensure fire safety, follow the following rules:
−before connecting the product to the power supply, make sure the power and
communication cables are properly insulated;
−protect power and communication cables from damage.

1 DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1.1 Features
1.1.1 LS-25(T) is a subscribers equipment for wired Public Address /General Alarm
(PA/GA) communication systems. LS-25(T) is intended for converting electrical signals into
acoustic ones and emitting them into the surrounding space (air). LS-25(T) is designed for
outdoor use or in premises in environments with high humidity, noise, dust and smoke levels
including environments with aggressive gases and chemical vapours, within the broad
temperature range.
1.1.2 External appearance of LS-25(Т) with standard bracket (Antistatic PA) is shown at
Figure 1.

The LS-25(Т) withstands without mechanical damage in operating conditions (refer to
Table 2) when exposed to sinusoidal vibration 25 Hz frequency with peak acceleration
amplitude up 19,6 m/s2.
LS-25(Т) is meet the requirements of Technical regulations of the Customs Union
TR CU 004/2011 «On safety of low-voltage equipment».
LS-25(Т) is designed without amplifier function and according the Appendix 1 for
Technical regulations of the Customs Union «Electromagnetic compatibility of technical
equipment» (TR CU 020/2011) not subject to its requirements.

1.5 Design
1.5.1 LS-25(Т) housing is made from antistatic PA and included two part. First part of
the housing including the speaker and the matching transformer, second – terminal block
and mounting holes for two cable glands М20х1,5.
1.5.2 The housing is as sealed design with a removable back cover.
1.5.3 LS-25(T) connect to the signal source by the connection cable. The enclosure has
two holes for cable glands М20х1,5 mounting. Maximum cross-sectional area is 2,5 mm2,
cable diameter (for standard cable gland) − from 5 to 12 mm. For example, HMCD031029/50
manufactured by Schlemmer Tec or analogue.
The back cover and organize of the cable glands (one cable gland, one plug) in
standard version of LS-25(T) are shown on Figure 2.

Note – According to Customer requirements and capabilities of the manufacturer, the
standard cable glands can be change to other ones. Quantity (up to 2 pcs.) and types of
installed cable glands according to the supply contract.
1.5.4 Installation of LS-25 (T) in the operating site is carried out using the bracket (for
LS-25(T) are available two bracket systems: Standard Bracket (Antistatic PA) from the
standard scope of supply or Optional Bracket (Stainless Steel)). External appearance of
the LS-25(Т) Standard Bracket is shown at Figure 3. External appearance of the LS-25(Т)
Optional Bracket is shown at Figure 4.

1.5.5 LS-25(T) can be mounted on a wall surfaces, a ceiling or a freestanding columns.
1.5.6 To direct the sound in the desired direction, the LS-25(Т) can be turned. Angle of
rotation of the bracket is shown at Figure 5.

1.5.7 Maximum weight of LS-25(Т) without the brackets is 1,9 kg.

1.6 Marking
1.6.1 On the enclosure is plased the bilingual nameplate.
The nameplate contains the following information:
−name, trademark and reference information of the manufacturer;
−product name;
−degree of protection provided by enclosures (IP code);
−commercialization mark for products on the market of Customs Union member states;
−special waste disposal mark;
−product serial number;
−date of manufacture;
−other information.
The serial number is unique for each product.

1.7 Package
The LS-25(T) with the mounting kit and documents, which come with the supply
package, is packed in consumer package (cardboard box).
A label in Russian language and English language is glued onto the consumer package,
said label containing the following inscriptions and symbols:
–product name and description;
–name, trademark and reference information of the manufacturer;
–handling symbols according to GOST 14192-96 and TR CU 005/2011;
–commercialization mark for products on the market of Customs Union member
states;
–serial number and date of manufacture.
The package is made according to the drawings of the product manufacturer and
enables storage of the LS-25(T), provided requirements set in Section 4 are met.
For shipment of the LS-25(T) from the manufacturer, consumer package contents are
placed in the package place, which ensures protection from mechanical damage, direct
ingress of atmospheric precipitation, dust and solar radiation during transportation

2 INTENDED USE
The product is designed for continuous 24-hour a day operations. After
commissioning, the product does not require operator intervention, unless:
−maintenance;
−product configuration changes.
Maintenance personnel must be strictly guided by this document in compliance with
safety regulations.
The product along with the operational documentation is delivered to the customer in
packaged form.
2.1 Operating limits
2.1.1 It is forbidden to operate LS-25(T) by personnel who have not undergone safety,
fire safety training, and are not familiar with this User Manual.
2.1.2 LS-25(T) shall be used under exposure factors and ambient parameters
which do not exceed permissible values given in Section 1.3.
2.1.3 It is forbidden to operate the product with a damaged (for example, poor
insulation) cable.
2.1.4 Cables connected to LS-25(T) must be protected from tensile and torsional loads.
2.1.5 When connecting several LS-25(T) to the voice transmission line, the polarity of
the connection must be observed. Non-observance of the polarity during connection will
cause the LS-25(T) to work out of phase, which will lead to a loss in playback quality. The
terminals of the same name on the connection block determine the polarity.
2.1.6 It is forbidden to connect to LS-25(T) signal sources with characteristics that differ
from those specified in 1.2.
2.1.7 It is forbidden to use accessories and devices not recommended by
the manufacturer together with LS-25(T).
2.1.8 Do not move the LS-25(T) connected to the signal source.
2.1.9 The requirements for operating conditions and the choice of the place of
installation given in this document take into account the most typical factors that
affect the operation of LS-25(T).
Factors that cannot be predicted, estimated or verified, and which the manufacturer
was unable to factor in during development may exist or arise during operation at the
operating facility.

In the event of such factors, find another operating site where said factors do not exist
or do not affect operation of the product.
ATTENTION! NEVER DISMANTLE THE PRODUCT CONNECTED TO MAINS!
2.2 Preparation for use
2.2.1 Preparation of LS-25(T) for use should be carried out by service personnel who
have undergone appropriate training and become familiar with the requirements of this User
Manual.
2.2.2 Сheck the scope of supply of LS-25(T) according to product passport.
2.2.3 Removing LS-25(T) and from the shipping container and customer package.
Inspect LS-25(T) housing visually, no mechanical damages (cracks, dents, etc.) on
the enclosure and the cover. Check the presence of all fasteners and sealing elements.
2.2.4 Prepare for installation of the LS-25(T) at the operating site. During installation,
be guided by the following regulatory documents:
−Electrical Installation Rules;
−Rules for the operation of electrical installations;
−Safety regulations for the operation of electrical installations;
−User Manual;
−instructions for the facilities in which the LS-25(T) is applied.
2.2.5 Prepare holes for LS-25(T) fasteners on the wall surface or on a freestanding
column, as shown in Figure 8. The distance between the centers of the holes is 30 mm.
Recommended installation height for LS-25(Т) – at least 2,3 m above floor level (or ground).

2.2.6 Unscrew four screw on the back cover and remove it.
2.2.7 Lead the cable through the cable gland and connect to the terminal block
accordance 2.5.2.
2.2.8 Screw the cover back into place by four screw with a toque of 1,8 Nm to assure
IP-rating.
2.2.9 Fix the bracket LS-25 (T).
2.2.10 If it is necessary, to change the position of LS-25(T), adjust the bracket: loosen
the bracket fixing nut, turn the bracket to the required position and tighten the bracket fixing
nut.
ATTENTION! DO NOT PLACE THE LS-25(T) HORN DIRECT DIRECTION!
ATTENTION! IT IS ALLOWED TO BE USED ONLY ACCESSORIES AND ACCESSORIES
RECOMMENDED BY THE MANUFACTURER ON INSTALLATION!
2.2.11 Connect LS-25(Т) to the signal source. For correct operation of LS-25(Т), use the
voltages accordance Table 1.
ATTENTION! DO NOT APPLY TO THE LS-25(T) DC VOLTAGE.
2.2.12 Check LS-25(T) performance:
−turn on the signal source, set the minimum sound signal level;
−by continuous adjustment the volume at the signal source, make sure that the
LS-25(T) reproduces the tone supplied from the signal source without
extraneous noise, and the sound volume that the LS-25 (T) reproduces changes
in accordance with the adjustment of the signal at the signal source.
The check performance is positive if the sound signal was transmitted is without
extraneous noise at different volume levels.
ATTENTION! NEVER DISMANTLE THE PRODUCT DURING OPERATION!
2.3 Safety precautions
2.3.1 For operation of LS-25(T) are allowed personnel who have been instructed
undergone appropriate training and become familiar with the requirements of this User
Manual.

2.3.2 When using LS-25(T) for its intended purpose, it is necessary to comply with
the requirements of safety measures defined by regulatory documents specified in clause
2.2.4 of this User Manual.
2.3.3 At the workplace, the personnel responsible for the operation of the LS-25(T)
must have User Manual.
ATTENTION! IN VIOLATION OF THE RULES OF OPERATION AND REQUIREMENTS
OF OPERATIONAL DOCUMENTATION, LS-25(T) MAY RESPECT HAZARDS.
2.3.4 To LS-25(T), as an electrical installation, during operation, general requirements
are presented to prevent electric shock and to comply with electrical safety measures.
2.3.5 LS-25(T) does not have internal elements serviced by operating personnel.
Operational personnel are not allowed to make changes to the design of the LS-25(T).
2.3.6 Disconnect LS-25(T) from еру signal sources if LS-25(T) is not used for a long
period.
2.3.7 During operation of LS-25(T) it is forbidden to use components that do not
correspond to those indicated in the Product Passport.
2.3.8 It is allowed to connect the LS-25(T) to the signal source only when the power of
the signal source is turned off, in order to avoid electric shock.
2.3.9 It is allowed to connect to the LS-25(T) only signal sources with the characteristics
corresponding to the input characteristics of the LS-25(T). Do not apply DC voltage to the
LS-25(T).
2.3.10 It is forbidden open LS-25(T) cover during operation period, if LS-25(T) has
connected to the signal source.
2.3.11 It is forbidden operation LS-25(T) with current-carrying elements or cable
damage.
2.3.12 When operating the LS-25(T), the general safety requirements must be
observed.
2.3.13 When operating the LS-25(T), other general safety precautions accepted by
the operating organization should be followed.
2.3.14 When operating the LS-25(T), all requirements of local regulatory documents
must be observed.
2.3.15 Violation of the rules and recommendations of the manufacturer for operation
LS-25(T) may lead to the failure of the LS-25(T) and the refusal of warranty repair.

2.4 Action in extreme situations
2.4.1 Fire action LS-25(T)
2.4.1.1 In case of fire LS-25(T) perform the following actions:
−give a fire alarm;
−disconnect the signal source from the power supply;
−take measures to extinguish the fire in accordance with current rules.
2.4.2 Actions in case of emergency in operation LS-25(T)
2.4.2.1 In case of emergency in operation perform the following actions:
−disconnect the signal source from the power supply;
−take measures to eliminate the causes of the emergency;
−leave the emergency room in case of a life threat.
2.4.3 Actions during emergency evacuation of maintenance personnel LS-25(T)
2.4.3.1 In case of emergency evacuation of maintenance personnel, it is necessary to
act in accordance with the plan established. LS-25(T) should be left in the state in which it
was at the time of receipt of the signal for emergency evacuation.

2.5 Operation
During installation, connection and dismantling of LS-25(T) the safety precautions
given in 2.3.
2.5.1 Activity description
2.5.1.1 LS-25(T) is intended for converting electrical signals into acoustic ones and
emitting them into the surrounding space (air). LS-25(T) is designed for outdoor use or in
premises in environments with high humidity, noise, dust and smoke levels including
environments with aggressive gases and chemical vapours, within the broad temperature
range.
2.5.1.2 LS-25(T) is designed for continuous 24-hour a day operations.
2.5.1.3 An additional power source is not required for LS-25(T).
2.5.2 General requirements
2.5.2.1 For operation of LS-25(T) are allowed personnel who have been instructed and
become familiar with the requirements of this User Manual.
2.5.2.2 Putting LS-25(T) into operation after installation, performing safety measures in
full accordance with the regulatory documentation specified in clause 2.2.4 and with the
instructions of User Manual.
2.5.2.3 Before operation of LS-25(Т):
−check for damage of LS-25(Т);
−set the minimum sound level of the signal source on the amplifier input signal.
−choose required power on transformer (Figure 9, Table 5) (for required SPL
level).
2.5.2.4 Set the minimum sound signal level on the signal source.
2.5.2.5 Connect the signal source to the terminal block accordance Figure 9, Table 4
and Table 5.
2.5.2.6 Turn on the power supply for the signal source.
2.5.2.7 By continuous adjustment the volume at the signal source, make sure that the
LS-25(T) reproduces the tone supplied from the signal source without extraneous noise, and
the sound volume that the LS-25 (T) reproduces changes in accordance with the adjustment
of the signal at the signal source.
