INTRODUCTION
This User Manual is intended for introducing LS-25Ex (Т) RMLT.467284.002
manufactured by Armtel LLC, Russia to the User.
LS-25Ex (Т) Weatherproof Ex speaker is used to translate messages in explosive
environment in accordance with the assigned marking of explosion protection, indoors or
outdoor with severe operating conditions: in case of exposure to temperature and
precipitation, presence of aggressive chemical compounds and dust content in
the environment.
LS-25Ex (Т) can be used in metal, chemical, mining, wood-processing, gas and oil
industries, including rescue services, transport facilities etc.
Short name of the product – LS-25Ex (Т).
Maintenance personnel for LS-25Ex (Т) shall be appointed by the management at
the installation site.
The maintenance personnel shall be required to know the operating procedure of
LS-25Ex (Т) to the extent provided for by the User Manual.
Duties of the maintenance personnel shall include maintenance of LS-25Ex (Т) in
accordance with this User Manual.

SAFETY PROVISIONS
During installation and operation of LS-25Ex (Т), observe safety precautions laid out in
local regulations on electrical safety.
To avoid electric shock, do not:
−turn on the product with a damaged cables;
ATTENTION! NEVER DISMANTLE THE PRODUCT CONNECTED TO MAINS.
In order to ensure fire safety, follow the following rules:
−before connecting the product to the power supply, make sure the power and
communication cables are properly insulated;
−protect power and communication cables from damage.

1 DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1.1 Features
1.1.1 LS-25Ex (Т) Weatherproof Ex speaker is a subscribers equipment for wired Public
Address / General Alarm (PA/GA) communication systems and is intended for converting
electrical signals into acoustic ones and emitting them into the surrounding space (air).
Product is used to translate messages in explosive environment in accordance with
the assigned marking of explosion protection, indoors or outdoor with severe operating
conditions: in case of exposure to temperature and precipitation, presence of aggressive
chemical compounds and dust content in the environment.
1.1.2 LS-25Ex (Т) has four variants, the variants are provided in Table 1.

1.3 Operations conditions
1.3.1 Operation conditions of LS-25Ex (Т)
Operating temperature range: from minus 55 °C to plus 60 °C,
Ambient atmospheric pressure, kPa (mmHg): from 84,0 to 106,7 (from 630 to 800).
1.3.2 Protection degree against access to hazardous parts, ingress of external solid
objects, water according to GOST 14254-2015 (IEC 60529-2013) – IP66/67.
1.3.3 The LS-25Ex (Т) withstands without mechanical damage in operating conditions
(refer to 1.3.1) when exposed to sinusoidal vibration 25 Hz frequency with peak acceleration
amplitude up 19,6 m/s2.
1.3.4 LS-25Ex (Т) is meet the requirements of Technical regulations of the Customs
Union TR CU 012/2011 «On safety of equipment in explosion-proof environments» in
accordance with marking of explosion protection.
1.3.5 Special conditions of use (if the marking of explosion protection contains
the symbol «Х»):
−installation and operation of LS-25Ex (Т) must be carried out in accordance with
the requirements and special conditions for safe use specified in this User
Manual;
−it is prohibited to switch on and operate LS-25Ex (T) with damaged explosion
protection elements (risks, scratches, nicks on surfaces forming explosion-proof
target connections, damaged or incomplete threads are not allowed). Parts with
defects in explosion protection elements must be rejected and replaced with
new ones supplied by the manufacturer;
−connection of LS-25Ex (T) with a permanently fixed cable in hazardous areas is
allowed using explosion-proof terminal blocks having a certificate of conformity
with TR CU 012/2011;
−LS-25Ex (Т) housing has low mechanical strength, therefore it is necessary to
protect them from impacts and falls.
1.3.6 LS-25Ex (Т) is designed without amplifier function and according the Appendix 1
for Technical regulations of the Customs Union «Electromagnetic compatibility of technical
equipment» (TR CU 020/2011) not subject to its requirements.

1.5 Design
1.5.1 LS-25Ex (Т) housing is made from antistatic PA and included two part. First part
of the housing including the speaker and the matching transformer, second – a terminal
block and mounting holes for two cable glands М20х1,5.
1.5.2 The housing is as sealed design with a removable back cover. Porous flame
retardant is used to output sound signal.
1.5.3 LS-25Ex (Т) connect to the signal source by the connection cable. The enclosure
has two holes for cable glands М20х1,5 mounting. Maximum cross-sectional area is 2,5 mm2,
cable diameter (for standard cable gland) − from 10 to 14 mm. For example,
HMCD068029/00 manufactured by SIB or analogue.
The back cover and organize of the cable glands (one cable gland, one plug) in
standard version of LS-25Ex (Т) are shown on Figure 2.

Note – According to Customer requirements and capabilities of the manufacturer,
the standard cable glands can be change to other ones. Quantity (up to 2 pcs.) and types of
installed cable glands according to the supply contract.
1.5.4 External appearance of the LS-25Ex (Т) with the back cover removed is shown in
Figure 3. The terminal block and ground screw are installed under the back cover.
1.5.5 The terminal block is designed to connect the signal source to the speaker.

1.5.6 The ground screw, when connected to the ground loop at the installation site,
ensures that static charge flows from the product. To connect the ground screw to
the ground loop, you have to insert the grounding cable (wire) through the cable gland (the
grounding cable (wire) is not supplied with the product).

1.5.7 The housing with the cover and two Ex-сable glands is a flameproof enclosure
complying with the following standards:
−GOST 31610.0-2014 (IEC 60079-0:2011). Explosive atmospheres. Part 0.
Equipment. General requirements;
−GOST IEC 60079-1-2011. Explosive atmospheres. Part 1. Equipment with
the type of protection "flameproof enclosures «d»;
−GOST R MEK 60079-7-2012. Explosive atmospheres. Part 7. Equipment.
Increased protection type «е»;
−GOST R MEK 60079-18-2012. Explosive atmospheres. Part 18. Equipment with
the type of explosion protection «encapsulation «mb» according to Ex-marking.

1.5.8 Installation of LS-25Ex (Т) in the operating site is carried out using the bracket (for
LS-25Ex (Т) are available four bracket systems: Standard Bracket (Antistatic PA) from
the standard scope of supply, Optional Bracket (Stainless Steel), Swivel Optional Bracket
(Stainless Steel) or Swivel Optional Bracket (Antistatic PA)). External appearance and overall
dimensions of the brackets are shown at Figure 4.
ATTENTION! FOR CONSIDERATIONS OF MECHANICAL STRENGTH AND
STRUCTURE STABILITY THE SWIVEL OPTIONAL BRACKET (ANTISTATIC PA) IS
AVAILABLE ONLY FOR VERSIONS WITH SHORT SPEAKER (RMLT.467284.002-02
AND RMLT.467284.002-03).

1.5.9 LS-25Ex (Т) can be mounted on a wall surfaces, a ceiling or a freestanding
columns.
1.5.10 To direct the sound in the desired direction, the LS-25Ex (Т) can be turned. Angle
of rotation of the bracket is shown at Figure 5.

1.6 Marking
1.6.1 On the enclosure is plased the bilingual nameplate.
The nameplate contains the following information:
−name, trademark and reference information of the manufacturer;
−product name;
−commercialization mark for products on the market of Customs Union member states;
−marking of explosion protection;
−name of the certification body (s);
−number (s) of the certificate (s) of conformity;
−special sign of explosion safety;
−degree of protection provided by enclosures (IP code);
−special waste disposal mark;
−product serial number;
−date of manufacture;
−other information.
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN WHEN NON-INTRINSICALLY SAFE CIRCUITS ARE ENERGISED!
The serial number is unique for each product.

1.7 Package
The LS-25Ex (Т) with the mounting kit and documents, which come with the supply
package, is packed in consumer package (cardboard box).
A label in Russian language and English language is glued onto the consumer package,
said label containing the following inscriptions and symbols:
–product name and description;
–name, trademark and reference information of the manufacturer;
–handling symbols according to GOST 14192-96 and TR CU 005/2011;
–commercialization mark for products on the market of Customs Union member
states;
–serial number and date of manufacture.
The package is made according to the drawings of the product manufacturer and
enables storage of the LS-25Ex (Т), provided requirements set in Section 5 are met.
For shipment of the LS-25Ex (Т) from the manufacturer, consumer package contents
are placed in the package place, which ensures protection from mechanical damage, direct
ingress of atmospheric precipitation, dust and solar radiation during transportation
