DLC SUMMARY
TheDualLayerControlModulegivesyoucontroloveranalogueand
digitalworldsfromtheheartoftheconsole.Intheanaloguelayer,
itprovidesintuiveanalogueautomaonaswellasanextrasetof
lineinputsandoutputs.IntheDAWlayer,itprovides a powerful
arrayofDAWcontrolfeatures,rightatyourngerps.Theseinclude
eightbankablefaders,transportcontrol,trackrecordenable,pan
control,auxsends,andplug-inmanipulaon.
TheeightchannelsofanalogueVCAautomaon,letyouaddmovement
andnessetoyourconsolemixbalances.TheVCAscanbeindividually
routedtosubgroups1-8orindependentlineinputsandoutputs,that
canbepatchedtoanyinsertpointontheconsoleforulmateexibility.
VCAautomaoniscontrolledviaourproprietaryFaderlinkplugin
(64-BitAAX,VST &AudioUnit,supportedbyallpopularDAWs),
allowingyoutorecord,editandrecalleightchannelsofVCAautomaon
directlyfromyourDAWsession,providingvisualrepresentaonof
volumeandmutealteraons.
The DLC has the ability to jump between the analogue and DAW
layersatanymewithoutalteringyourlevels,lengyouquickly
adjustsengswithoutinterrupngyourworkow.TheDAWlayer
isconnectedviatheHUITM protocolandsupports:Cubase,Nuendo,
LogicProXandProTools.

To physicallyconnectDLCtoyourcomputer,
plugastandardCAT5Ethernetcableintothe
portlocatedabovetheDLCNetworksckeron
therearoftheconsole,andtheotherendinto
yourcomputer(orrouter/switch).
DLC CONNECT APP
To achievecommunicaonbetweenDLCand
theMac,theDLCConnectappisneeded.This
createsthenecessaryMIDIportsforyourDAW
toconnecttoDLC.Thisappcanbedownloaded
fromourwebsiteat:

Oncedownloaded,dragtheDLCConnecticon
intotheApplicaonfolder.

NETWORKING THEORY
Onanetwork,devicesmusthaveaunique“address”toensuretheycancommunicate,this
isknownasanIPaddress.Youwillneedtodecidewhetheryournetworkwillautomacally
assignIPaddressestoconnecteddevices,orifyouwillmanuallyassignthemyourself.
IfconnecngDLCtoyourcomputerdirectly,youwillmostlikelywanttosettheIPaddresses
manually,howeverifconnecngDLCtoalargernetwork,typicallytheIPaddresswillbe
automacallyassignedusing“DHCP”(youwillcommonlyhaveusedthiswithoutrealising
whenconnecngtothingslikeWiFinetworks).

SETTING AUTOMATIC IP ADDRESS (USING DHCP)
IfyouhaveconnectedDLCtoanetworkusingDHCPtoautomacallyassignIPaddresses,
thenyouwillneedtosetDLCtouseDHCP.
OnthesecondpageoftheSetupMenu,ensurethattheUseDHCPoponissettoYES,
andthatyourMacisconguredtouseDHCPintheNetworkSystemPreferences(by
defaultyourMacshouldbesettouseDHCP).
PresstheSetupBuonagaintoexitsetupandsavethesesengs.

DLC CONNECT
Oncenetworksengshavebeennalised,
reboottheconsoleandthecomputer.On
reboong,DLCConnectshouldopenand
theconsoleshouldbelisted.Highlight
theconsolewithintheapp,andclickthe
connectbuon.
You rDLCmoduleshouldnowbe
connectedtoyourMacandreadyfor
conguraonasaHUIcontrolsurfaceand
analogueautomaonplaorm.
TheDLCconnectappiconinthemenubar
willdisplaytheconnecvitystatus,with
ablackiconindicangDLCisconnected,
andagreyedouticonindicangDLCis
disconnected.

RightclickinsidethewindowandpastetheDLC
Connectshortcut.DLCConnectwillnowopen
uponuserlogin.
