
co FUNCTION (LEVEL) DISPLAY F
The Function Display consits of five bar
graphs which provide a visual
representation of the volume level and the
left and right channel balance levels. The
volume level is represented by three thin
bar graphs. As the volume is increased,
the number of illuminated segments will
increase. The left and right channels are
represented by the wider bar graphs. As
thesignalstrengthappliedtoeither theleft
or right channel increases, the number of
illuminated segments will increase.
cp FUNCTION SELECTOR (MODE)
This button is used to select the playback
mode (radio, cassette player or optional
CD changer). With each press of the
button, a different playback mode will be
selected as indicated on the front panel
display. During cassette play, the word
TAPE is displayed, together with an audio
cassette symbol ( ) and a directional
arrow( or )indicatingtapeplaydirection
(forwardorreverse). WhentheCDchanger
is selected, CdC momentarily appears on
the display, followed by the disc number,
tracknumberand rotating disc symbol .
During cassette operation, the button may
be used to change to radio or CD changer
without ejecting the audio cassette.
cq TIME/FREQUENCYSELECTOR(T/F)
During operation, press this button to call
thetimedisplayontheincorporatedquartz
clock. The display will return to the radio
frequency indication after 5 seconds.
DuringtapeandCDchangeroperation,the
first press of the button will call the time
display. In either case, the display will
return to the tape or disc indication after
approximately 5 seconds.
cr LOCAL/REPEAT CONTROL
(LOC/ RPT)
Duringradio,tapeorCDchangeroperation,
pressingthisbuttonselectsthelocalsetting
for the reception of strong signals. The
LOC indication will appear on the display
panel. Pressing the button again will
deactivatethefunction. During CDChanger
operation, pressing the button will
continously repeat the current disc track.

csLOUD/RANDOMTRACKSELECTION
CONTROL (LOUD/RND)
During radio operation when listening to
music at low volume levels this feature will
boost bass and treble ranges to
compensate for the characteristics of
human hearing (refer to bn) . During CD
changer operation, pressing and holding
this button for several seconds will cause
the CD Changer to play disc tracks in
random order. (Refer to function dq.)
ctMONO/INTRODUCTIONTRACKDISC
PLAY (MONO/INT)
During FM radio operation, this button is
used to select mono or stereo reception of
the broadcast signal. Under normal
receptionconditions,theunitshouldbeleft
in the stereo mode as indicated by the
ST indicationonthedisplaypanelwhen
tuned to an FM stereo signal. If the stereo
signalistoonoisyforcomfortablelistening,
presstheFMMono/StereoSelectorbutton
to switch to mono reception (the ST
indication will disappear from the display
panel). Toreturntostereoreceptionmode,
press the button again so that the ST
indication appears in the display panel.
During CD changer operation, pressing
this button will play the first 10 seconds of
eachtrackonthedisc.(Refertofunctiondp).
