The subwoofer is not powering on or the display is not showing up.
What should I do?
Check AC power cord and make sure the cord is plugged in all the on
both the subwoofer and to the wall. If the unit is still not powering on,
check the fuse on the back side of Sub woofer. This can be done by
removing the fuse cover, located to the left of the power cord plug-in on
the back of the subwoofer. A blown fuse will have a disconnected metal
strip inside the fuse. If the fuse is blown, replace it.
WARNING: When checking the fuse, unplug the AC power cord from the unit and the wall.
Never check or replace a fuse while connected to power.
There’s no audio coming out of any of the speakers. What should I do?
1. First, check to see that you have selected the correct input mode on
the subwoofer. This can be done by repeatedly pressing the “Input”
button on the front of the subwoofer or by pressing the desired input
button on the remote control.
2. If this hasn’t solved it, check the inputs on the back of the subwoofer
and all of the speaker connections. Make sure the audio cables are
plugged in all the way and that the connections to the audio source are
also connected properly. Next, make sure the speaker’s are connected
properly. Make sure to match “+” with “+” and “-” with “-”.
3. Next is to check the system where your AUDIO is coming from as an
input to subwoofer. Meaning if you have connected your TV then
check that the TV Audio out (Left & Right) is connected with AUX
INPUT (Left & Right) of Subwoofer. And also the TV is not in MUTE
mode and or has enough volume.
4. Many times the HT50 was sold as a package thru Shop NBC, and the
TVs have had faulty audio outputs. Regardless, check the subwoofer
with another audio source. This can be done by hooking up a DVD
player, gaming console, or anything else that can output sound and
seeing if the system works. If it does, then the TV or other audio
source is the problem. If sound still does not come out, then proceed
to warranty repair/replacement.
5. If there is still no audio,unplug the AC power cord from the back of
subwoofer for about 2 minutes. This will reset the subwoofer.Plug the
power cord back in and turn on the unit.

6. If 1-5 do not solve your problem, contact Technical Support for further
instructions.
I’m hearing a humming noise coming from the subwoofer. How can I
stop it?
The humming noise is due to feedback in the grounding loop in your
power outlet. You can stop this by going to aHome Depot, Radio Shack,
or the like, and purchase a ‘3-prong to 2-prong adaptor.’ This will turn
the HT50 power cord plug into a 2-prong plug. In almost all cases this
will solve the problem.
The remote control is barely working or not working at all. What should
I do?
1. Replace the remote's battery.
2. If the new battery is still not working, replace the remote by going
through the warranty repair / replacement procedures.
One or more of the speakers in the system is not working. What can I
do?
1. This is most likely because the speaker output port on the subwoofer
has gone dead. This can be checked by first swapping the connection
with another speaker port.
Example:if the right front speaker is not working, trace the speaker
wire back to the sub to see which speaker output port it is on. If setup
properly, it would be on the 'FR' port. Switch connections with the 'FL'
port and proceed to number 2.
2. If the switched speaker still does not work, then the output port on the
sub is dead, so proceed with the warranty repair/replacement
procedures for the subwoofer.
3. If the switched speaker does work, then it is the speaker that has
problems, so proceed with the warranty repair/replacement for the
speaker.
I don’t hear anything coming out of the subwoofer until is turned up
past 50. Is there something wrong with the system?
This is simply due to the fact that some audio source outputs put out a
stronger signal than others. The device you may be using may have a
weak signal, and so sound may not be heard until higher volumes, but
other devices will be loud even at lower volumes.
