A - SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1: OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
• Store this manual somewhere you can easily
nd it.
• Read the instructions in this manual completely
and carefully before using the air conditioner.
• This device is intended for use by experienced
or trained users and for residential use only.
• The warnings described below are classied
under WARNING and CAUTION. Both contain
important safety information. Please observe all
precautions.
2: SAFETY WARNING
It is essential that you follow the instructions below.
Failure to correctly follow these instructions may
result in injury or death.
• Do not use the air conditioner for any purpose
other than its intended use. Do not use the
air conditioner to cool food, plants, animals
or artwork, as this may adversely affect their
performance, quality and/or longevity.
• Do not place plants or animals directly in front
of the air conditioner's air stream, as this may
negatively affect them.
• Prolonged direct exposure to cold or hot air from
the air conditioner, or to air that is too cold or too
hot, can be harmful to your health.
• For health purposes, never drink the
condensation that drains from the unit.
• Do not leave ammable substances such as
petrol, gas bottles or solvents near the air
conditioner.
• Do not attempt to install or repair the air
conditioner yourself. There is a risk of
electrocution or re.
• The power supply socket must be located
indoors and in a dry place.
• Install a dedicated electrical socket and a
proximity circuit breaker before using the air
conditioner.
• If the power cable is damaged, do not use the air
conditioner.
• Do not modify or extend the power cable.
• Do not obstruct the airow inlet or outlet.
• Do not put your hands or objects into the air inlet
or outlet when the air conditioner is on.
• In the event of a power failure or storm,
immediately turn off the power supply.
• Do not move the air conditioner while it is
operating
3: INSTALLATION/OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
It is essential that you follow the instructions below.
Failure to correctly follow these instructions may
result in property damage or serious injury.
• Do not sit on, place objects on or pull on the
air conditioning unit while it is operating. This
could result in accidents, such as falling or
tipping over, that lead to injuries, as well as air
conditioner malfunctions.
• Do not operate the air conditioner with wet
hands or in a humid environment.
• To perform maintenance, turn off the air
conditioner and wipe the unit with a soft cloth.
Do not use wax, solvents or detergent.
• Clean the lter once every two weeks.
• If you need to turn the unit off for an extended
time period, disconnect the power supply.
• Turn off the air conditioner before unplugging
the power supply.
• Keep children away from the unit to ensure that
they do not play with it.
4 - RECYCLING
Disposing of used batteries in household
waste is strictly forbidden. Batteries/
accumulators containing harmful
substances are marked with symbols
(shown opposite) which indicate that it is
forbidden to discard them in the household waste.
The corresponding heavy metals are referred to as
follows: Cd= cadmium, Hg= mercury, Pb= lead.
You can dispose of these used batteries/
accumulators at local waste treatment centres
(centres for sorting recyclable materials), which
are required to accept them. Keep batteries/button
cells/accumulators out of reach of children and
store them in a safe place not accessible to them.
They could be swallowed by children or pets. Risk
of death! In the event that a battery is swallowed,
consult a doctor or go to A&E immediately. Never
short-circuit the batteries, and do not burn or
recharge them as they may explode!
