IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT
THE WOODEN OR PLASTIC
TAPPING BLOCK
The wooden or plastic tapping
block (G) has been designed to
resist to one single installation.
The tapping block (G) is NOT
GUARANTEED.
Uncontrollable factors such as
compacted or rocky grounds, clay
soils, the size of the sledgehammer
or the striking power may damage
the block during the installation.
If this is the case, homemade block
designs as shown in the photos
8.2, 8.3 and 8.4 can be used to
replace the tapping block:
• 2x6 stacked lumber (8.2)
• Putting together different
pieces of wood (lumber and
plywood (8.3)
• Any solid wood block, for
example a 6x6 lumber or
a log (8.4)
8.1
8.2
8.3
Many other homemade designs
may work. Your new block should
be 5 1/2 inches wide. The tapping
surface of the block should be
at least 3/4 inch higher than the
edges of the pivot (C) in order to
prevent its damage when using the
sledgehammer. See the dimensions
totyourhomemadeblockon
