1. Remove the 2 top screws that secure the BEAM 5i lid in place. Then
slide the lid towards you and lift off.
2. Push the SIM holder button with a SIM needle or paper clip.
3. Pull out the SIM holder.
4. Insert your SIM card into the SIM holder.
5. Slide the SIM holder back into the router.
6. Replace lid and secure with the 2 top screws.
7. Attach antennas to connectors on back of the BEAM 5i
8. Connect the power y lead to the vehicle’s power supply and plug
the other end into the power socket on the back of the device.
Power up the device by turning on the vehicle’s power/master
switch.
9. Connect to the device wirelessly
(SSID: BEAM_**** (unique to each device)).
Hardware installation
1. To enter the router’s Web interface (WebUI), type
http://192.168.42.1 into the URL eld of your Internet browser.
2. Use login information shown in the image below when prompted for
authentication.

3. After you login, you will be prompted to change your password
for security reasons. The new password must contain at least 8
characters, including at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase
letter and one digit. This step is mandatory and you will not be able
to interact with the router’s WebUI before you change the password.
4. When you change the router’s password, the Conguration Wizard
will start. The Conguration Wizard is a tool used to setup some of
the router’s main operating parameters.

Hardware installation
1. Remove the 2 screws that secure the BEAM 8i back router plate
in place. Then gently remove the plate from the main enclosure to
access the SIM slots.
2. Slide your SIM card into SIM slot 1. If you have a second SIM card
slide that into SIM slot 2.
3. Replace the back plate and secure in place with the 2 screws.
4. Attach antennas to the connectors on back of the BEAM 8i.
5. Connect the power y lead to the vehicle’s power supply and plug
the other end into the power socket on the back of the device.
Power up the device by turning on the vehicle’s power/master
switch.
6. Connect to the device wirelessly
(SSID: BEAM_**** (unique to each device)).
5. Go to the Status > Network page and pay attention to the Signal
Strength indication (image below). To maximize the cellular
performance try adjusting the antennas or changing the location of
your device to achieve the best signal conditions.
