IMPORTANT Safety Information –MUST READ
Safety Warnings
DISCONNECT THE MAIN POWER SUPPLY AND
DISSIPATE ALL POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS
ENERGY SOURCES PRIOR TO SERVICING OR
MAINTAINING EQUIPMENT
Belanger® recommends that all workers observe the OSHA (U.S. Department of
Labor Occupational Safety & Health Administration) Lockout / Tagout procedure
to dissipate all potentially hazardous energy sources (i.e. - electrical, mechanical,
hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, thermal, etc.) prior to performing service or
maintenance on machinery and equipment.
Note: Reference the OSHA standard for the Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout), Title 29
Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1910.147 and the example provided in 1910.147
Appendix A for practices and procedures necessary to disable machinery or equipment, thereby
preventing the release of hazardous energy while employees perform servicing and maintenance
activities. The standard outlines measures for controlling hazardous energies –electrical,
mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, thermal, and other energy sources.
Note: Reference the OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.331 to 29 CFR 1910.335 for safe work practices to
protect employees working on electrical circuits and equipment. This section requires workers to
use safe work practices, including lockout and tagging procedures. These provisions apply when
employees are exposed to electrical hazards while working on, near, or with conductors or systems
that use electrical energy.
Note: Both referenced OSHA standards can be found at the following website: http://www.osha.gov/law-
regs.html. Browse to the General Industry tab under the Find an OSHA Standard heading, scroll
down to the link of interest and click on it.
Doing so will prevent unexpected energization, startup, or release of hazardous
energy while maintenance and servicing activities are being performed.

Introduction
Overview
The Flipping™Arch frame utilizes an engineered aluminum structure designed especially for
Belanger® equipment.
The spray manifolds are constructed of 1-inch stainless steel tubing with (4) 1/4 inch flow drilled
nozzle ports on each side manifold and the upper manifold. The nozzle ports are spaced to allow
maximum coverage for any size vehicle. The spray manifolds are also designed to rotate 30°
toward the entrance and 30° toward the exit of the bay, resulting in a total rotation of 60° to
provide a complete application on the front, back and side surfaces of the vehicle. There is a 3/4-
inch main water feed located on top of the upper manifold. A 1/2-inch hydraulic hose assembly
from each end of the upper manifold feeds each side manifold. These 1/2-inch hydraulic hose
assemblies also help synchronize the upper and side manifold rotation when the cylinder
activates.
The retract feature of the Flipping™Arch sets the home position for the manifolds at the center
of the arch and still allows 30° of rotation toward the exit of the tunnel. Depending on the delivery
system and nozzle configuration purchased, the Arch can have either a single or dual feed utility
connection. Another available option is the inlet check valve system, which can be used for
presoak applications to help fan or foam the nozzles. The Arch is also assembled with materials
that allow use of optional R.O. water, as well as industry approved acid and alkaline products.
A dual regulator air panel with a 4-way pneumatic valve operates the Flipping™Arch and
requires one programmed output from the system controller. The default home position of the
manifold assemblies is 30° toward the entrance of the tunnel. The speed of the rotating motion is
user defined. After the user defined amount of time, the system controller will activate the 4-way
pneumatic valve and rotate the manifolds 30° toward the exit of the tunnel. In order to maximize
cleaning and rinsing on rear surfaces, Belanger® recommends setting the manifold rotation
toward the exit of the tunnel early enough that the water direction can also be concentrated on
the back of the vehicle mirrors.

Available Nozzle Options
The nozzle pressure and water volume of the Flipping™Arch depends on the optional pump
station capability, which allows the customization to accommodate the customer’s vehicle
washing strategies.
Nozzles are selected separately based on your pump station option. This ensures maximum
performance of your Flipping™Arch.
The Flooder nozzle kit is not listed below and should NOT be used with the Flipping™Arch
due to flow requirements.
