1 Your safety is important to us
1.1 Prescribed Use
Use as prescribed HairMaster®is a hairdressing device for the heat treatment and drying of
the hair on the customer's head.
• The selection of the treatment time and temperature is the sole
responsibility of the qualified hairdressing personnel.
• The device can be used to support the treatment of hair with special
cosmetic hair products. The manufacturer's instructions of the products
used must be strictly observed. Furthermore, it must be considered
that the exposure period of products can be significantly reduced under
heat treatment.
• For proper hair treatment, the device must be positioned in such a way
that the customer's head is at a sufficient distance from all radiant
heaters.
• Do not leave the device unattended during operation. Particular
attention is required for the treatment of the hair of children or frail
persons.
• Switch off the ON/OFF switch immediately after the treatment and pull
out the mains plug (only for the device in standing version).
Ambient conditions The device is intended for commercial use inside a building.
• The ambient room temperature must be in a range between 15 °C and
35 °C.
• The relative humidity must not exceed 95%.
• Do not expose the device to direct sunlight and do not install it close to
other devices with high heat emission or in moist rooms.
Mains protection Socket outlets with grounding contact (Schuko sockets) for the connection
of the device to the mains must be fused with at least 10 A. We recommend
the protection of the power circuits in your hairdressing salon with a
residual-current operated device.
1.2 Incorrect Use
Incorrect use The device is designed exclusively for the treatment of the hair on one's
head. The face and other parts of the body must not be included in the
treatment.
• Do not apply ointments with ingredients stimulating blood circulation
or similar substances on the skin, because the heat dissipation of the
device can lead to uncontrolled effects on these products.
• Do not cover the device with towels or foil during operation. For wave
treatment, do not cover the hair with a cloth, hood, plastic film or
aluminum foil.
• Inflammable mousse products, sprays, gases or easily inflammable
substances must not drop on the radiant heaters and must not be used
close to the device.
• Do not use the device for the treatment of animals.
• Do not use the device for the drying or heating of objects or food.

1.4 Overview of the Safety Instructions
Read these safety instructions very carefully before the first use of the
device.
• These instructions help you to protect yourself and other persons
against potential hazards and prevent damage to the device.
Electric shock!
Electric shock Contact with energized components presents a danger to life
from electric shock.
Water is a very good electrical conductor. As long as the device
is connected to the mains, electrical components remain
energized even after switching off the device using the ON/OFF
switch. The following safety instructions must be strictly
observed:
• Avoid operating the device with wet hands.
• Do not immerse the device in water or other liquids and
protect it against splashing.
• If an energized device falls into water, keep your hands out
of the water and pull out the mains plug immediately.
• Do not place the device near sanitary facilities (sinks, tubs).
• Do not use the device when in the bath.
• Do not insert metal or conductive objects (e.g. sticks or
pens) into the openings or joints of the device housing.
• After use of the device, pull out the mains plug immediately.
• Before cleaning the device, pull out the mains plug.
Danger of fire!
Danger of fire The radiant heaters of the heating system heat up the surfaces
in such a way that they can ignite easily inflammable materials.
• Make sure that no hair comes into contact with the radiant
heaters.
• Do not cover the device during operation. Do not place any
hygienic or auxiliary materials (towels and paper tissues,
foils, tulle capes, etc.) on the device.
• Avoid using any inflammable products or materials (sprays,
mousse products, etc.) near the device.

Shooting up of the spring arm!
Elastic force of the spring arm The spring arm of the wall-mounted version / special
attachments is under pressure. If the dryer is removed from the
spring arm, the spring arm may shoot up and lead to injury.
• The dryer must solely be mounted and dismounted by
qualified personnel in accordance with the valid mounting
instruction.
Shooting up of the telescopic tube!
The telescopic tube is under spring pressure. When the
fastening screw is loosened, the telescopic tube may shoot up
and lead to injury.
• The fastening screw of the telescopic tube may only be
loosened if the dryer is mounted and attached to the column
tube.
Defective device!
Defective device If the device or parts thereof have been damaged, a functional
test must be performed by authorized personnel before putting
it back into operation. This is particularly important in the
following cases:
• The device does not operate properly.
• The mains cable or mains plug are damaged.
• The device was damaged by breakage or shock.
• Liquid or foreign bodies have got inside the device.
Risk of burns!
Risk of burns The radiant heaters of the heating system heat up the surfaces
in such a way that contact with skin may lead to burns.
Do not touch the radiant heaters or heated protective grids
during or immediately after operation.
Unauthorized use!
The device should not be operated by unauthorized persons.
In particular, its use by the following persons (including child-
ren) must be prevented:
• Persons who do not have the experience or knowledge
required for operating hairdressing devices,
• persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capacity,
unless supervised by a person responsible for their safety, or
receiving operating instructions by such person.
• Never leave children unattended in rooms where the device
is operated so as to prevent them from playing with it.

position of the spring arm.
2.5 Connecting the Device to the Mains
1. Perform the following checks before connecting
the device to the mains:
– Check the grounding pin plug (Schuko plug)
3 and the power cable for damage. Do not
use damaged electrical parts for mains
connection!
– Check the information on the rating plate of the
device. The device must not be connected if
the voltage (V) and the maximum current (A)
indicated on the rating plate do not correspond
to the values of the mains.
2. Plug the grounding pin plug (Schuko plug) 3of
the power cable into a properly grounded and

3 Programs and Program Control
3.1 Description of the Programs
The program control includes two different types of programs (see
overview):
• Hair treatment programs:
–Quickstart,
–Waving,
– Coloring,
–Drying,
– Care treatment.
•Serviceprograms:
– Default settings.
3.1.1 Hair Treatment Programs
The HairMaster®provides a range of standard hair treatment programs.
Based on the individual settings defined, the hair treatment programs
calculate the optimal treatment time and the ideal temperature.
Product-specific programs or individually designed programs can be read
out from an SD card and loaded into the program control.
Quick start:
Quick start is a simple multi-function program. It controls all radiant heaters
and also provides the option of changing the settings during operation:
• Processing (exposure) time,
• Fan power,
• Treatment temperature.
Waving:
Permanent wave diagnostic program The permanent wave program permanently alters the structure of the
customer's hair. A specific diagnostic program calculates the optimal
treatment time and the ideal temperature. The following types of
permanent waves can be selected: acid, neutral or mild-alkaline.
Coloring:
Color diagnostic program After specifying the hair structure and state, the HairMaster®color
diagnostic program calculates the optimal temperature and treatment time
for brilliant results in terms of coloring or tinting all the hair or bleaching or
coloring individual strands of hair.
Drying:
The drying program provides for the fast, gentle and even drying of the
hair. To dry long hair, the side arms are folded down, thus activating the
specific neck heating.
Furthermore, the drying program provides the option of modifying the
settings for the combination of the radiant heaters, for the fan power, the
temperature and the exposure time even after the start of the program.
If the fan was used for drying, the exposure time is followed by a cool-down
period of one minute without heating, at the lowest fan level.
Care treatment:
Care treatment program Thanks to its homogeneous and constant heat profile, the HairMaster®
reaches all parts of the hair and thus provides for best possible
