requisiti di sicurezza ed il marchio CE sulla stessa ne evidenzia

BGS GENERAL s.r.l. pumps types PBO and PBOM have been
designed and produced according to the Italian safety standards
included in the machines directive 89/392 CEE and further
additions. The compliance declaration, with the CE marking printed
on it, is supplied with the pump.
CONDIZIONI DI UTILIZZAZIONE PREVISTE
•Le pompe BGS GENERAL S.R.L. serie PBO - PBOM sono
realizzate tenendo conto delle norme vigenti attualmente in
Italia.
•I singoli componenti impiegati nella realizzazione della pompa
sono corrispondenti alle norme vigenti attualmente in Italia.
•E’ fatto assoluto divieto di eseguire riparazioni o manutenzioni
alla macchina se non e’ stata tolta l’energia elettrica e/o non
sono stati inseriti i dispositivi di sicurezza.
•E’ assolutamente vietato rimuovere i carter di protezione atti a
preservare l’incolumità dell’operatore.
•Le pompe BGS GENERAL S.R.L. serie PBO - PBOM sono un
prodotto ad alto contenuto tecnico e tecnologico. Se le istruzioni
di utilizzo e manutenzione descritte nel presente manuale e
comunicateVi dal nostro personale specializzato verranno
attese nella maniera opportuna, esse permetteranno di
mantenere invariate nel tempo le caratteristiche di robustezza e

RECOMENDED OPERATING CONDITIONS
•BGS GENERAL s.r.l. pumps types PBO and PBOM have been
manufactured under the Italian standards.
•All component in the pumps complys with Italian standards.
•It is strictly forbidden to carry out repairs and/or maintenance
operations to the pumps while electric power is on and/or safety
devices are switched off.
•It is strictly forbidden to remove the protection covers which are
fitted to protect the end user.
•The BGS GENERAL s.r.l. vacuum pumps types PBO and PBOM
have been manufactured using technologically advanced
components, providing that all the maintenance instructions
supplied by our technicians to end user are carefully followed, BGS
GENERAL s.r.l. guarantees apply.
LIMITI AMBIENTALI DI LAVORO
La macchina è abilitata a lavorare nei seguenti limiti ambientali:
•Temperatura da 10°C a 45°C;
Se comunque la temperatura scende al di sotto dei 10°C ed in
prossimità dello 0°C, sia a macchina installata che disinstallata,
devono essere attivate tutte le procedure necessarie perché
non si generino processi di condensa all’interno della macchina.
La BGS GENERAL s.r.l. non risponde di eventuali danni dovuti
a questo tipo di problema.
•Umidità dal 20% al 95%.
ENVIRONMENTAL OPERATING LIMITS
•It is advisable to avoid environmental temperatures below
10°C as in these conditions condensation will occur thus negating
the warrantee.
•Humidity from 20% to 95%.
LIMITI DI RESPONSABILITÀ
Le pompe BGS GENERAL s.r.l. serie PBO - PBOM sono
protette integralmente per mezzo di opportune sicurezze
meccaniche da qualsiasi problema che si possa presentare in
condizione di funzionamento automatico su persona che si trovi
a contatto con la macchina stessa.
La responsabilità della BGS GENERAL s.r.l. termina con gli
attacchi di collegamento. Il collegamento della pompa
all’impianto e la sicurezza dello stesso non sono di competenza
del costruttore della pompa

fitted to ensure safe operation in normal conditions. BGS GENERAL

GARANZIA
Tutti i prodotti BGS GENERAL vengono forniti collaudati, e sono
garantiti per 12 mesi decorrenti dall’avvenuta consegna.
La garanzia è applicabile solo ai clienti che hanno rispettato le
norme di installazione, sicurezza e utilizzazione riportate su
questo manuale; inoltre, per l’applicabilità della garanzia, sarà
indispensabile conservare il numero di matricola del prodotto
riportato sull’apposita targhetta.
La garanzia è limitata ai soli difetti di costruzione ed esclude
ogni responsabilità per danni diretti ed indiretti a persone,
animali e cose e cessa nel caso in cui il prodotto BGS
GENERAL venga manomesso o smontato.
Sono esclusi dalla garanzia il motore elettrico,il pressostato e
tutte quelle parti che, per specifico impiego sono soggette ad
usura, come le guarnizioni, le valvole etc.
Sono inoltre esclusi dalla garanzia i componenti elettrici ed
elettronici per eventuale uso improprio da verificare con i
fornitori della BGS GENERAL.
Non sono ammesse restituzioni se non preventivamente
autorizzate e comunque in porto franco.
Tutte le eventuali spese di sopralluogo di smontaggio,
rimontaggio, trasporto per l’intervento di un ns. tecnico su
chiamata per difetti non imputabili alla BGS GENERAL SRL,
saranno a carico del cliente.
Sono inoltre escluse dalla garanzia gli eventuali danni provocati
dalla mancanza di manutenzione ed uso improprio.
WARRANTY
All BGS GENERAL products are provided after tests and are
guaranteed for 12 months from delivery date.
The warranty is applied only when clients settle their payments
regularly and comply with the installation, safety, and operating rules
reported in this handbook. Furthermore, for any warranty claim it is
necessary to keep the product serial number shown on the product
plate.
During warranty time BGS GENERAL guarantees free repairs or
faulty part replacement after an inspection and irrevocable decision
by its technical staff.
The warranty covers only manufacture defects and excludes any
responsibility for direct or indirect damages caused to persons,
animals and things in case BGS GENERAL products have been
tampered or disassembled.
The warranty excludes the electric engine, the pressure gauge, and
all those parts such as gaskets, valves, etc. that, due to their
specific use, are exposed to wearing.
Other parts excluded from the warranty are the electric and
electronic components in case of incorrect use, which must be
verified with BGS GENERAL suppliers.
Replacements are only permitted after BGS authorisation and, in
any case, on a carriage paid basis.
Any inspecting, disassembly, re-assembly, and transport expenses
for any intervention by our technical staff in case of faults excluded
from BGS GENERAL SRL responsibility are to be paid by the client.
Excluded from the warranty are also all damages caused by lack of
maintenance and incorrect use.

1.0.00 PRESENTAZIONE POMPE PBO- PBOM
1.0.01 Descrizione
Le pompe PBO e PBOM sono del tipo rotativo a palette, a
bagno d'olio. Il motore elettrico è UNIFICATO MEC e viene
accoppiato direttamente alla pompa, oppure tramite un
giunto elastico. Il serbatoio-disoliatore è applicato
direttamente alla mandata dello statore; la separazione olio-
gas avviene tramite una o più speciali cartucce filtranti che
arrestano anche i vapori dell'olio. All'interno della testata
d'aspirazione della pompa sono incorporati un filtro ed una
valvola di ritegno. Queste pompe sono adatte
all'evacuazione di gas da serbatoi chiusi o per medio vuoto
continuativo nel campo di 0.5 - 20 mbar per il tipo PBOM, e
da 10 - 400 mbar per il tipo PBO. Qualora la pompa
dovesse lavorare in ambienti molto polverosi, è necessario
applicare un filtro supplementare adeguatamente
dimensionato. In alcune applicazioni è conveniente montare
un filtro a bagno d'olio (FOP) in serie ad un filtro a cartuccia
installati nella seguente cadenza: pompa vuoto - filtro a
bagno d'olio - filtro a cartuccia - utilizzo. (Vedi Messa in
servizio 5.0.01 B)
1.0.00 DESCRIPTION
1.0.01 Design and function
The BGS GENERAL PBO and PBOM series pumps are
single stage, oil sealed, rotary vane vacuum pumps. Both
models are equipped with standard EEC motors that attach
directly to the pump by means of a flexible coupling. The oil
separator housing is mounted directly to the stator exhaust.
One or more internal exhaust filters separate the oil from the
gas. This eliminates the need for any external oil mist
eliminators. Each pump is equipped with an anti-suckback
device to prevent the back streaming of oil in the event of
power loss or when shutting down. The PBO series pumps
have an ultimate vacuum level of 10 Torr and the PBOM 0.5
Torr(These vacuum pumps can be utilized both for the
evacuation of closed tanks and for continuous gas flow
operation in the range of 0.5 - 20 mbar for type PBOM and
10 to 400 mbar for type PBO). If the pump is particulate it is
advisable to include a proper inlet filter with a replaceable
cartridge. It is advisable, in some applications, to fit oil bath
filter ( FOP ) at the pump inlet in addition to the cartridge
filter : vacuum pump, oil bath filter, cartridge filter, suction (
see “ Start-up “ chapter 5.0.01 B ).

Il sollevamento delle pompe PBO-PBOM avviene tramite
apposite fasce bilanciandone opportunamente il carico. Le
pompe PBO-PBOM 3 -6 e 12 PBO-M e possono essere
sollevate a mano con la cura di afferrarle saldamente nei
punti indicati.

3.0.01 Posizionamento
Verificare che lo spazio libero adiacente la pompa
permetta un comodo accesso al filtro (c), al bocchettone di
carico olio (a) e all’indicatore di livello olio.
Verificare inoltre che l’ areazione del luogo permetta una
buona circolazione di aria per il raffreddamento (d).
La pompa va installata su un piano orizzontale.
3.0.00 OPERATION
3.0.01 Installation
The pump must be installed on a level horizontal surface.
It should also be installed in an easily accessible area for
occasional maintenance, oil changes (a), and filter (c)
replacement. Visibility of the oil level sight glass is
essential and should be checked daily. Insure that the
area has sufficient air flow for the air cooling circulation of
the pump (d): this is very important to prevent the pump
from overheating. Proper inlet connections should be used
to prevent leaks. Leaks will reduce the performance of the
pump. Never restrict the pump exhaust.

3.0.02 Allacciamenti
Effettuare l’allacciamento dei cavi alla morsettiera ( e) che
alimentano il motore elettrico, proteggendolo con un
adeguato Teleruttore Salvamotore, tarato secondo il
valore indicato sulla targhetta del motore stesso. (Le
pompe sono prive di qualsiasi comando elettrico diretto, in
quanto normalmente vengono inserite in un impianto di
comandi centralizzati).
3.0.02 Electrical connections
Connect the motor’s cable to the winding box (e) being
careful to protect the motor by a suitable safety device
calibrating to the volts shown on the motor lab ( pumps are
not equiped with an individual electric switch as they are
usually installed on a centralized plant ).

4.0.00 ELENCO DEI RISCHI
4.0.01 Rischi meccanici
La presenza all’interno della pompa di
elementi mobili comporta la valutazione degli
eventuali rischi meccanici introdotti dagli
organi stessi. Per questo la BGS GENERAL
s.r.l. ha adottato dei carter di protezione
saldamente fissati con viti alla macchina per
assicurare l’incolumità del personale che farà
uso delle pompe. Si consiglia usufruire di
personale specializzato.
4.0.00 RISK’S LIST
4.0.01 Mechanical risks
The presence inside the vacuum pump of
detachable parts leads to the evaluation of
the possible mechanical risks due to the
parts same. For this reason, BGS GENERAL
s.r.l. has equipped all their machines with
protective casing firmily screwed on pumps
and fit for protecting the personnel dealing
with the pumps. It is recommended to
provide for specialized personnel.
4.0.02 Rischi elettrici
Le pompe BGS GENERAL vengono fornite
senza alcun cavo elettrico di collegamento in
quanto vengono solitamente inserite in un
impianto di comandi centralizzati; a fronte di
questa precisazione la BGS GENERAL s.r.l.
si riserva il diritto di non ritenersi
responsabile in caso di incidenti durante
l’utilizzo delle macchine e consiglia di
usufruire di personale specializzato.
4.0.02 Electrical risks
BGS GENERAL s.r.l. vacuum pumps are
supplied without an electrical cable. BGS
GENERAL s.r.l. recommended that a
specialist electrician fits this cable as no
liability for consequent malfunction can be
taken.
4.0.03 Rischi legati alla temperatura
Le pompe BGS GENERAL funzionano
tramite lubrificazione; questo meccanismo
comporta temperature elevate nelle tubazioni
ed eventuali superfici di contatto protette dai
carter in quasi tutta la loro estensione. Le
parti non protette e comunque tutti i
componenti che possono raggiungere dette
temperature sono segnalate da appositi
cartelli di avvertimento.
4.0.03 Temperature risks
BGS GENERAL s.r.l. vacuum pumps are oil
lubricated and this process involves high
temperature inside pipings and overall
contact surfaces protected by casing. “
Beware high temperature “ stickers are fitted
to BGS GENERAL pumps where
appropriate.
4.0.04 Rischi ambientali ed acustici
ATTENZIONE: essendo l’olio lubrificante un
prodotto inquinante, non bisogna disperderlo
nell’ambiente, ma smaltirlo secondo le leggi
in vigore nel paese d’installazione della
macchina.
In riferimento ai rischi acustici, le pompe
BGS GENERAL sono state progettate
tenendo conto delle disposizioni e leggi in
vigore nella Comunità Europea.
4.0.04 Environmental and acoustic risks
BEWARE: the lubrication oil is an highly
polluting product and, therefore, it is
recommended to refrain from wasting it into
environment but arrange for its disposal
following the regulations in force in those
countries where the vacuum pumps have
been installed. BGS GENERAL s.r.l. vacuum
pumps have been designed and
manufactured taking into consideration the
acoustic risks’ standards presently in force in
all EEC countries.

5.0.00 MESSA IN SERVIZIO
5.0.01 Verifiche di stato
A -Riempire la pompa con olio (Vedi Allegato “B” per le
caratteristiche) smontando il tappo di carico (a) fino a
ottenere un livello che corrisponda alla mezzeria
dell’indicatore (b). Rimontare il tappo e verificarne la
buona chiusura.
IMPORTANTE: accertarsi che nel tubo di collegamento
all’aspirazione non siano presenti residui di lavorazione
od impurità di processo che potrebbero danneggiare la
pompa.
5.0.00 START - UP
5.0.01 Check - up
A -Pump is shipped without oil. Add oil ( See Enc. “B” for
features ) through the oil fill plug located on the top of the oil
case housing (a). Fill until the upper sight glass is half full
(b). Screw on plug again and check its tightness. After pump
has run for a short period of time, check oil level and top off
as necessary.
Do not overfill or pour oil through the exhaust port. Do not
attempt to fill pumps while running: turn pump off.
IMPORTANT : check that no solid waste or process
impurities are inside the inlet piping, as these could
damage pump.

B -Verificare che la rotazione del motore
corrisponda al senso indicato dalla freccia
posta sulla calotta posteriore dello stesso.
Dopo un breve periodo fermare la pompa e
verificare il livello dell'olio, se necessario
aggiungere o togliere olio fino alla mezzeria
del livello.
Qualora la pompa fosse collocata in
ambienti polverosi, è necessario applicare
uno o più filtri supplementari
adeguatamente dimensionati. In alcune
applicazioni necessita montare un filtro a
bagno d'olio (FOP) in serie con un filtro a
cartuccia (FMV - FCV) nella sequenza qui
indicata:

applications, it is advisable to equip
vacuum pump with an oil bath filter ( FOP )

6.0.00 MANUTENZIONE
6.0.01 Manutenzione ordinaria
Controllare regolarmente tramite l’indicatore il livello
dell’olio che dovrà essere mantenuto in mezzeria
effettuando eventuali rabbocchi attraverso l’apposito
tappo.
Controllare periodicamente lo stato dell’olio; se diventa
scuro significa che l’olio è inquinato da sostanze
aspirate e pertanto deve essere sostituito.
Controllare le cartucce filtranti (filtro) e se intasate pulire
le stesse con un soffio di aria compressa rivolto verso
l’interno del filtro. Procedere nello stesso modo in caso
ci fossero installati gruppi filtranti supplementari in
aspirazione, escluso i modelli a bagno d’olio (come
consigliato nel capitolo 5.0.00 Messa in servizio al punto
B per ambienti molto polverosi).
Per l’estrazione della cartuccia vedere lo schema di
montaggio (All.A).
Pulire il filtro valvola zavorra gas (accessorio disponibile a
richiesta) con aria compressa .
6.0.00 MAINTENANCE
6.0.01 Ordinary maintenance
Check oil regularly and top it off as required.
Check oil conditions. When dark, oil has been
contaminated by intake substance and must be
changed.
Check if oil filter cartridges inside the pumps are full up
and, if necessary, clean it/them by means of
compressed air blown inside the cartridge. The same
operations should have to be done in case of additional
filtering elements mounted in suction, excepting the oil
bath filters ( as suggested in chapter 5.0.01 B ).
Refer to the assembling scheme for removing cartridge (
Enc. A ).
Clean the gas ballast valve by means of compressed air
(optional)
6.0.02 Manutenzione periodica
500 ORE/ 3 MESI - Sostituire olio pompa e filtro olio se
presente ( All. B)
2000 ORE - Sostituire la cartuccia disoliante ( ogni 500
ore per 3-6-12 PBO-M) . Per l’estrazione della cartuccia
vedere lo schema di montaggio (All.A).
Sostituire il filtro aspirazione.
Sostituire l’inserto giunto elastico. Per l’estrazione
dell’inserto vedere lo schema di montaggio (All.A).

5000-7000 ORE - Sostituire le palette e le guarnizioni di
tenuta. Per lo smontaggio vedere lo schema di
montaggio (All.A). L’operazione prevede un operatore
specializzato.

errori di montaggio o all’uso di componenti non

10000-12000 ORE - Sostituire i cuscinetti a sfere /
bronzine e le guarnizioni di tenuta. Per lo smontaggio
vedere lo schema (All. A). L’operazione prevede un
operatore specializzato.

Le scadenze delle manutenzioni possono variare in
base all’utilizzo della pompa e dell’ambiente dove
lavora la pompa.
6.0.02 Periodical maintenance
500 HOURS/ 3 MONTHS - Change oil and oil filter
( Enc. B)
2000 HOURS - Change Oil-remover cartridge ( every 500
hours for 3-6-12 PBO-M) . Refer to assembling scheme
for removing the cartridge ( Enc. A ).
Change exhaust filter.
Replace the elastic joint boss. Refer to assembling
scheme to remove the cartridge ( Enc. A ).
BGS GENERAL s.r.l. is not liable for operational failure
due to mistakes during the assembling operation or the
utilization of non - BGS GENERAL s.r.l. spare parts.
5000-7000 HOURS - Replace blades and tighten gaskets.
For disassembling refer to Enclosed A. This operation
