3 SAFETY
WARNING
Carefully read this manual and follow the instructions in it before using, checking
or performing any work on or with the machine.
DANGER
If the cutting tools are not in position and appropriately secured, they may cause
SERIOUS DAMAGE TO PEOPLE AND PROPERTY.
The manufacturer accepts no responsibility if the instructions provided in this manual are not
followed.
3.1 Intended use
The machine has been designed to cut grass and small shrubs in agricultural or forest
environment, driven by a single competent operator. Consequently, its use in dierent
conditionsorfordierentpurposesfromthoseindicatedshouldbeconsideredincorrect.
Themachinecanworkonlyintheslopeconditionsspeciedbytheenginemanufacturerand
with the operator always able to govern it with a good safety margin, for themselves and for
those around them.
The protections have been designed taking into consideration, in particular, the complete
safety of the operator who, in the normal driving condition, cannot be reached by direct
projection of stones or other objects hurled from the rotating system.
Therefore the operator must always remain in the normal driving position, behind the machine,
withbothhandsplacedrmlyonthehandles.
3.2 Improper use
Improper use means the incorrect use of the machine that does not result in potential
accidents, but may cause serious damage to the machine itself.
Modifying or adjusting the machine in order to obtain a level of performance that is higher or

the manufacturer declines all liability for injury to persons or damage to property; the machine

1. Move the gas control lever (1) to the “START-MAX” (A) position.
2. Press the fuel primer bulb on the engine carburettor (refer to the engine manual) and pull
the starter cord (2) until the machine starts.
WARNING

5.2 Cutting device operation
To activate the cutting device:
1. Lift (A) and move (B) the safety hook (2) of the cutting device to deactivate it.
2. Pull the cutting device control lever (3) towards you (C).
To deactivate the cutting device:
1. Release (D) the cutting device control lever.
CAUTION
Never remove the safety hook. Its function is to force the operator to operate the
cutting device using two hands, avoiding accidental operation (such as in the
case of a fall). If this command is removed, the machine would no longer comply
with applicable safety regulations, representing a source of danger for both the
operator and bystanders.
CAUTION
The safety brake stops the cutting device in a few seconds, but it is not
instantaneous. Therefore, once the cutting device control lever has been released,
the operator must not leave the driving position until the disc is perfectly still.

5.3 Self-propelling operation
To activate the automatic forward motion of the machine:
1. Select the desired speed and the gear by pushing the speed knob (4) on the rear of the
machine. When you push or pull the speed knob (A) you can set the gear to:
1- slow speed,
2- intermediate speed,
3- fast speed.
2. Push (B) the forward motion control lever (5) forwards, towards the handlebar (the wheels
will start moving the machine).
Release the forward motion control lever to stop the automatic forward motion of the machine.
CAUTION
Use particular caution on uneven ground. To make the machine manoeuvrable,
it is equipped with a “free wheel” system. This means that the wheel is free to
turn when pushed at a speed greater than the traction speed. The traction can
therefore not be used as a brake when working on uneven surfaces.
