The

various
functions
and
operatingparts

stitcher
and
also
give
the
propermethods
of
adjustment
and
replace-
ment
of
parts.
Every
Stitchershould
be
oileddaily,
andif
machine
isin
constantuse,
twicedaily.Theoil
holes
and
cups
are
easilyfound
on
stitcherhead
and
body.
A
heaviertype
ofoil
should
be
used
forthe
former
and
drivebar.
A
lightmachine
oil
should
be
usedfor
remainder
of
head.
CAM
LUBRICATING
INSTRUCTIONS:-Trip
clutch
and
rotatedrivepulleymanually,
if
necessary,
in
direction
indicated
by
arrow
on
pulley
until
grease
fitting
oncamis
alignedwithhole
in
lubricating
cover
unitlocated
in
body
or
headcasing.
Whenfitting
is
visible
thru
hole
in
lubricating
cover
unit,
lubricant
canbe
appliedwith
a
grease
guntofit
alemitehydraulicfitting(straighttype).
Itis
recommendedthat
thecambe
greasedonce
monthlywithHarris
Moly-Lube
#2
(high
temperature)
lubricant
or
equivalent.

drops

If
the
clutch
hesitates
on
picking
up,
turnlower

brake
adjustingscrew
inor
clockwiseabout
1/4
to
V2
turn,
or
untilclutchpicks
up.Ifthe
clutchrepeats,
the
lowerbrakeadjustingscrewshould
be
backed
out
untilclutchdoes
not
repeat.
Be
sure,however,
that
the
BRAKEBAND
IS
FREEwhen
the
clutch
isin
operation
or
engaged.
Clean
outthe
ClutchRing
and
Flywheelwith
kerosene
orany
cleaningsolvent.
Itisnot
necessary
to
take
the
Clutchout.Squirt
the
cleaningfluidinto
the
Flywheel
and
ClutchRing
andrunthe
machine
fora few
moments,continuouslystarting
and
stopping.
NOTE:—Proper
action
of
clutch
and
brake
isas
follows:
Whenclutchengages,brakebandshould
be
free
and
whenclutch
is
disengaged,brakebandshould
be
tight
and
clutchshould
be
free.
