In dieser Tradition haben wir auch unserem neuen Lautsprechersystem Matrix
alles mit auf den Weg gegeben, um neue Maßstäbe zu setzen. Sie verbinden auf
höchstem machbaren technischen Niveau klangliche Wiedergabe, handwerkli-
che Solidität und edelste Materialien.

Allgemeine Einbauhinweise
Der Einbau dieses hochwertigen Lautsprechersystems sollte unbedingt von
einem autorisierten Fachhändler durchgeführt werden, um Fehler in der
Positionierung und beim Anschluss zu vermeiden.
Für ein Lautsprechersystem dieser Qualität ist die richtige Platzierung und
Ausrichtung enorm wichtig, da sonst Phasenfehler etc. das Klangbild negativ
beeinflussen können.
Der 165 mm Tief-/Mitteltöner sollte in ein speziell angefertigtes Paneel oder in
einen für das Chassis vorbereiteten Originalplatz eingebaut werden. Es ist wich-
tig, dass der Lautsprecher absolut ebenmäßig aufliegt (bei Verwindung können
Gußkörbe brechen) und gut abgedichtet ist. Zur Befestigung verwenden Sie den
Montageringsatz und die beiliegenden speziellen Edelstahlschrauben (3,5 x 19
mm), die mit dem mitgelieferten Schraubendreher angezogen werden sollten.
Der Matrix 1.1 sollte auf Höhe des Armaturenbretts montiert werden um eine
hohe und breite Bühnenabbildung zu realisieren. Die Ausrichtung der Chassis ist
sehr wichtig und sollte vor der endgültigen Montage durch intensives
Experimentieren ermittelt werden, da die Akustik in jedem Fahrzeug unter-
schiedlich ist.
Die Frequenzweichen sollten aufgrund ihrer Größe im Kofferraum eingebaut
werden. Wir empfehlen den Anschluß an einen 4-Kanal Verstärker, da dieser
bessere Moglichkeiten zum "Fine-tuning" hat. Sollte das System mit einer
Stereo-Endstufe betrieben werden, so empfehlen wir Bi-Wiring.
Achtung
Zum Anschließen und Einstellen der Matrix Frequenzweichen müssen die
Plexiglas-Abdeckungen mit beiliegendem Werkzeug entfernt werden.
General installation instructions
The installation of this high-quality loudspeaker system should be done by an
authorized and specialized dealer to avoid mistakes in the positioning and con-
nection.
For a loudspeaker system of this quality the correct placement and adjustment
is absolutely important, otherwise incorrect phases can affect the sound nega-
tively.
The 165 mm (6,5 inch) mid/bass speaker should be mounted in a special made
panel or in the original speaker place prepared for the chassis. It is important to
fix the mid/bass speaker absolutely flat and tight (twisting can cause a break of
the basket).
For fixing use the supportring and the attached special stainless-steel screws
(3,5 x 19 mm) which should be drawn with the included screwdriver.
The tweeter Matrix 1.1 should be mounted on dashboard level to achieve a wide
front staging. Due to different acoustics in every vehicle the correct positioning
of the speaker is very important and should be determined only after intense
experimenting before final mounting.
Due to their size the crossovers should be mounted in the trunk of the car. We
recommend the connection to a 4-channel amplifier, because it provides more
possibilities of fine-tuning. Should the system be used with a 2-channel ampli-
fier we recommend bi-wiring.
Caution
For connections and adjustments of the Matrix crossovers remove the glass-
look plexi cover with attached tool.

The speakers of the system can be adjusted to your individual listening habits
by repositioning the jumpers J1, J2 and J3.
Please make sure to turn off the entire system before changing the jum-
per positions.
Function of jumper J1: 4- or 2 ohms mode
Jumper J1 adjusts the crossover to the so called 4- or 2 ohms mode. The basic
adjustment (ex works) is the 4 ohms mode which means that only one pair of
woofers is used in the vehicle.
When using two additional BRAX Matrix mid/bass speakers as a double bass
system on each side, e.g. in custom made door panels, the jumpers J1 must be
removed and fixed into the 2 ohms position (see fig. 1 and 2).
Function of jumper J2 and J3: Mid level and tweeter level adjustment
Jumpers J2 and J3 are used for the individual adjustment of the mid- and twee-
ter level (adjustment of levels of these speakers in relation to the level of the
bass). In the 0 dB-position (ex works) the mid- range and the tweeter play at the
same level as the woofer. This should be basis of your fine tuning.
Depending on the placement of the chassis and your individual listening habits
the levels of the midrange and the tweeter can be raised or lowered by chan-
ging the position of jumpers J2 and J3.
Please make sure that changes in the position of the jumpers J1, J2 and
J3 must always be made simultaneously for the right and the left channel
on both crossovers.
Durch Umstecken der Jumper J1, J2 und J3 lassen sich die Lautsprecher des Systems
optimal auf Ihr Fahrzeug und Ihre individuellen Hörgewohnheiten abstimmen.
Schalten Sie zur Veränderung der Jumper-Positionen bitte unbedingt Ihre
Anlage vollständig aus.
Die Funktion der Jumper J1: 4- oder 2 Ohm-Betrieb
Mit Hilfe der Jumper J1 wird die Weiche auf den so genannten 4- oder 2 Ohm-
Betrieb angepasst. Die Grundeinstellung (Auslieferungszustand) ist der 4 Ohm-
Betrieb. Dies ist dann der Fall, wenn Sie nur die beiden dem System beiliegen-
den Tieftöner verwenden, jeweils einen pro Fahrzeugseite.
Lediglich in den Fällen, wo Sie zwei zusätzliche BRAX Matrix Tief/Mitteltöner
verwenden, also pro Seite ein Doppelbass-System, z.B. in eigens dafür ange-
fertigten Türpaneelen, müssen die Jumper J1 abgezogen und in der 2 Ohm-
Position wieder aufgesteckt werden (s. Abb. 1 und 2).
Die Funktion der Jumper J2 und J3: Mittelton- und Hochton-Pegelanpassung
Die Jumper J2 und J3 dienen der individuellen Anpassung des Mittelton- bzw.
Hochtonpegels, also der Lautstärke dieser Lautsprecher untereinander und zur
Lautstärke des Tieftöners. In der 0 dB-Position (Auslieferungszustand) spielen
der Mitteltöner und der Hochtöner linear, also gleich laut zum Tieftöner, das soll-
te ihre Ausgangsposition sein. Je nach der Platzierung der Chassis in Ihrem
Fahrzeug und Ihren individuellen Hörgewohnheiten lässt sich nun durch
Umstecken der Jumpers J2 und J3 die Lautstärke des Mittel- bzw. Hochtöners
absenken oder erhöhen.
Bitte achten Sie darauf, die Positionsveränderungen der Jumper J1, J2
und J3 immer in beiden Weichen, also für den linken und rechten Kanal,
synchron vorzunehmen.

Durch Umstecken der Jumper J1 und J2 lassen sich die Lautsprecher des
Systems optimal auf Ihr Fahrzeug und Ihre individuellen Hörgewohnheiten
abstimmen.
Schalten Sie zur Veränderung der Jumper-Positionen bitte unbedingt Ihre
Anlage vollständig aus.
Die Funktion der Jumper J1: 4- oder 2 Ohm-Betrieb
siehe 3-Wege Frequenzweiche und Abb. 3 und 4.
Die Funktion der Jumper J2: Hochton-Pegelanpassung
Die Jumper J2 dienen der individuellen Anpassung des Hochtonpegels, also der
Lautstärke des Hochtöners in Relation zur Lautstärke des Tieftöners. In der
0 dB-Position (Auslieferungszustand) spielt der Hochtöner linear, also gleich laut
zum Tieftöner, das sollte ihre Ausgangsposition sein.
Je nach der Platzierung der Chassis in Ihrem Fahrzeug und Ihren individuellen
Hörgewohnheiten lässt sich nun durch Umstecken der Jumpers J2 die
Lautstärke des Hochtöners absenken oder erhöhen.
Bitte achten Sie darauf, die Positionsveränderungen der Jumper J1 und J2
immer in beiden Weichen, also für den linken und rechten Kanal, synchron
vorzunehmen.

Bi-Amping
Die Funktion der Jumper J4: Bi-Amping
Mit Hilfe der Jumper J4 wird die Weiche für den Bi-Amping Betrieb eingestellt.
Bei Bi-Amping wird jeder Lautsprecher an einen eigenen Verstärker bzw.
Verstärkerkanal angeschlossen. Damit wird jedem Lautsprecher ein optimal
ausgesteuertes Signal zugeführt. Eventuelle Verzerrungen durch Leistungs-
schwankungen werden so vermieden.
Function der Jumpers J4: Bi-Amping
Jumper J4 is used to adjust the crossover for the Bi-Amping mode. In the
Bi-Amping mode each speaker is connected to its own amplifier or amplifier
channel. This ensures that each speaker is provided with an optimum signal and
that occasional power fluctuations are eliminated.
