3. ADJUSTING THE CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE NEEDLE AND THE SHUTTLE
HOOE (SHUTTLE RACE POSITION)
STANDARD
_. Theclearance between the needle and the shutt]e hook should be between 0.02 and 0.1 ram.
2. The shuttle race should be posl ioned correc ly wL h respee o he urnmg dlrec ion of he shuLLle race.
ADJUSTMENT
1. SeL the needle position selector to "M" and the stitch width knob LO"0".
_. Turn the baJ_nce wheel to set the needle and the shuttle hook to the correct timing position.
3. Use a screwdriver to _um the needle bar supporter stud slightly to either the right or left and a_just the crearance between the needle
and the shuttle hook.
NOTE
A line through the center of the needle should pass through the center of Lhe shuLtle hook shaft.

4. A.DJUSTII_G THE CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE SHUTTLE DRIVER AND THE
RACE WAY
STANDARD
There should be no clearance be_veer_ _he shuttJe driver and the race way and the shuttle driver should rotate smoothJy.

_, Loosen the two driver shaf[gear screws,
2. Adjust lhe dearance of the drlver shaft.

5. ADJUSTING THE NEEDLE SWING
STANDARD
When the stitch width knob is set at "S", [he needle swing shou]d be 0.05 mm or less when the needle is moving down from the needle
alate to its lowest position. When the needle is moving up from its lowest position to the needle plate, the needle swing should be 0.15
mm or less Both sides of the needle plate hole should have these ¢Eearances.
ADJUSTMENT
I, Loosen the i_vo zigzag base assembly screws.
2. Align the upper shaf_ _ear and the zigzag cam gea_
3. Tighten lbe two zigza_ base assembly screws.
NOTE
To coFrecl _he needle swing, align the upper shaft g_ar and the zigzag cam gear at an,/two points.

6. CENTERING THE NEEDLE
STANDARD
When the needle position selector is set at "M" and the stitch width knob is se_ at "0", the needle should be centered in the needle plate
hole.
ADJUSTMENT
Set the needle position selector to "M" and the stitch width knob to "0".
2. Turn the balance whee] to lower the needle until it is just above the needle plate.
S, Loosen thefcrew on thezi_zag connecting rod assembly.
4. Center the needle in the needle plate hole
5. Tighten the screw

_DJUSTMENT
:. Set the stitch width knob to "5", then lower the need]e to its [o_,esl poskion at the left side of the needle plate.
2. Loosen the set screw on Lhedrive connecting rod.
5. Raise the needle between l.T and 2.1 mm andaligntheshuttlehookpointwiththes[deoftheneed[e.
nTighten the set screw.

9. ADJUSTING THE HEIGHT OF THE NEEDLE BAR
STANDARD
VVhen the stitch width knob is set at "g" and die needle contact5 the shuttle hook when the needle i_ an the right side, lhe clearance
between the top of the needle eye and the shuttle hook point should be between 0.8 and 1,2 mm.
ADJUSTMENT
Set the stitch width knob to "5", then lower the neefl]e to its lowest position at the right side of _he need[e plate,
2 Turn the balance wheel unt[[ the needle contacts the shuttle hook.
3. Loosen the set screw on the needle bar.
4. Move the r_eed{e bar elther up or dow_ umjI _heclearance between the top of the needle ege and the shuttle hook point is within Q.8

10. ADJUSTING THE TENSION OF TH]_ TL_ING BELT
STANDARD
Fhere should be between 4,0 and 6,0 mm of slack in the th'n[ng belt when the cenler of the belt is pushed with appro×imate]y 200 g of
pressure
ADJUSMENT
I. Loosen the b_o screws on the _TIotor holder,
2. Movethemotorhofdertoadjustthebefttension_oitmeetstheabovestandard.
