6.1 General Safety
Failure to follow these safety instructions and warnings
could result in a re or an explosion, which could cause
property damage, personal injury, or death.

thisOwner’sGuide,onthecylinder,andonthe
supplyhosesafetytagsbeforeconnectingthecylinderto
the appliance.
Donotallowanyonetoconductactivities
aroundthisapplianceduringorfollowingits
useuntiltheapplianceandthecookingliquidhascooled.
Theapplianceishotduringoperationandremainshotfor
alongperiodoftimefollowingitsuse.
Donotusetheapplianceifitisdamagedin
anyway.Ifindoubt,donotuseorreplace
theappliance.Ifthereisevidenceofabrasion,wear,cuts,
orleaks,tothehose,thehosemustbe
replacedpriortotheappliancebeingputintooperation.
Thereplacementhoseassemblyshallbethatspecied
bytheappliancemanufacturer.
Neveroperatethisappliancein
an enclosed structure such as
ahouse,pavilion,tentstructure,orfoodservingvehicle.
6.1.1 Prior to Cooking
DoNOTleavetheapplianceunattendedwhilethe
burnerislitorwhileheatingoil,grease,water,or
whencookingfood.
Carefullymonitortheappliance,especially
whenthecookingoil,grease,orwateris
above100°F(38°C).
8. After each use, close the shut-o valve rst;
then close the LP cylinder valve. Always
allow the oil to cool completely
before touching or moving appliance.
Note: Due to the intense heat from the burner, it is normal
for discoloration to occur on the appliance during the rst
few uses.
9. Disconnect the LP cylinder from the appliance when
it is not in use.
10. If the burner is hard to light or does not appear to be
working correctly, check for an internal obstruction. If
not obstructed, replace the burner assembly.
Obstruction of combustion and
ventilation airow can prevent
proper gas mixture inside the burner, resulting in a
burner tube re which can cause personal injury.

Thisappliancegetsdangerouslyhotwhilein

cookingliquids.Safetyglassesorgogglesarealsorec-
ommendedtoprotectfromoilsplatter.
6.1.2 While Cooking
Neverleavehotcookingliquidsunattended.
Cookingoilorgreasecanignitewhenthe
temperaturereachestheignitionpoint.
Itwilltakeapproximately20to30minutesto
preheatcookingoil.Carefullycontrolthe
cookingoilorgreasetemperaturebetween325°F
to350°Fduringpreheatingorcookingprocess.
Hot oil or grease can ignite.
Ifthetemperatureofthecookingoilexceeds
350°F(177°C),orifoilbeginstosmoke,
immediatelyturnOFFtheburnerandwaitforthe
temperaturetodecreaseto350°F(177°C)orless
beforerelighting.
Whencookingwithoilorgrease,athermometer
MUSTbeusedtopreventoverheatingoftheoil.
Alwayscompletelythawandtoweldryfoodbefore
placingitintheappliance.Introductionofwateror
ice,especiallyfromfrozenorthawedfoodprod-
ucts,intotheoil/greasemaycauseoverowandsevere
burnsfromhotoilandsteam.
Useextremecarewhenloweringfoodintohot
cookingliquid.Neverdroporthrowfoodoracces-
soriesintohotcookingliquid.Slowlylowerfood
oraccessoriesintothecookingliquidinordertoprevent
splashingoroverow.
