IMPORTANT:
Thank you for purchasing a Casals Petrol Chain-
saw (hereinafter referred to as the “chainsaw”).
This manual will assist you in operating and main-
taining your chainsaw. This manual is the latest
version.
With the continuous improvement and upgrading of
this product, the manufacturer reserves the right to
modify this manual without notice. The manufactur-
er shall assume no liability for incorrect information
contained in this manual.
This manual is an integral part of the chainsaw.
When the chainsaw is transferred to others, this
manual should be handed over to the new owner.
Some important information in this manual will be
indicated in the following way (please see below).
The users should pay special attention to these
instructions.
The range of CASALS Outdoor Power tools is
safe and reliable, but incorrect use of these
products may cause personal injury and or
damage to your machine. Please read this
manual thoroughly before operation as this
product is required to operate strictly in ac-
cordance with this manual.
IMPORTANT NOTICES:
WARNING: When using the chainsaw, basic safety
precautions including the following safety instruc-
tions should always be followed to reduce the risk
of re, electric shock and personal injury. Read all
these instructions before operating this product
and retain these instructions for future reference.
1. GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
1.1. Do not operate this product in an explosive
atmosphere, such as in the presence of ammable
liquids, gases or dust.
1.2. Keep children and bystanders away while
operating the chainsaw. Distractions can cause
you to lose control.
1.3. Do not expose the chainsaw to rain or wet
conditions.
1.4. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing and use
common sense when operating the chainsaw.
1.5. Do not operate the chainsaw when you are
tired or under the inuence of drugs, alcohol or
medication.
1.6. Use safety equipment. Always wear eye
protection. Safety equipment such as dust mask,
non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hear ing protec-
tion used for appropriate conditions will reduce
personal injuries.
1.7. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before
turning chainsaw on. A wrench or a key left at-
tached to a rotating part of chainsaw may result in
personal injury.
1.8. Do not over reach. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times. This enables better control of
the chainsaw in unexpected situations.
1.9. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery; Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away
from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long
hair can be caught in moving parts.
1.10. Do not force the chainsaw. Use the correct
the chainsaw for your application, The correct
power tools will do the job better and safer at the
rate for which it was designed.
1.11. Do not use the chainsaw if the switch does
not turn it on and off. Any part of the chainsaw that
cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous
and must be repaired.
1.12. Ensure the chainsaw is off before making
any adjustments.
1.13. Store out of the reach of children and do
not allow persons unfamiliar with the chainsaw or
these instructions to operate the chainsaw. Chain-
saws are dangerous in the hands of untrained
users.
1.14. Use the chainsaw, in accordance with these
instructions and in the manner intended, taking into
account the working conditions and the work to be
performed.
1.15. Use of the chainsaw or operations different
from intended could result in a hazardous situation.
1.16. Have your chainsaw serviced by a qualied
repair person using only identical replacement
parts. This will ensure that the safety of the chain-
saw is maintained.

2.2. SYMBOLS ON THE CHAINSAW
For safe operation and maintenance, symbols are
carved into the moulding of the chainsaw. Accord-
ing to these indications, please be careful not to
make a mistake.
A- Fuel tank - Position: fuel tank cap

switch to the “O” (stop) direction, the engine stops

4. USE AND CARE:
4.1. BEFORE USE:
4.1.1. Read this owners manual carefully to under-
stand how to operate this unit properly.
4.1.2. You should never use the product when
under the inuence of alcohol. When suffering from
exhaustion or lack of sleep, drowsiness as a result
of haven taken cold medicine or at any other time
when a possibility exist that your judgement might
be impaired or that you might not be able to oper-
ate the machine properly and in a safe manner.
4.1.3. Avoid running the engine indoors. The ex-
haust gasses contain harmful carbon monoxide.
4.1.4. Never use the product under the circum-
stances listed below.
•When the ground is slippery or when other
conditions exist which might take it not possible to
maintain a steady posture.
•At night, at times of heavy fog or at any other
times when your eld of vision might be limited and
it would be difcult to gain clear view of the area.
•During rain storms, lightning storms and gale-
force or strong winds or at any other times when
weather conditions might make it unsafe to use
this product.
4.1.5. Lack of sleep, tiredness or physical exhaus-
tion results in lower attention spans and this In turn
leads to accidents and injury.
4.1.6. Limit the amount of time of using the
machine continuously to somewhere around 10
minutes per session and take 10- 20 minutes to
rest between work sessions. Also try to keep the

total amount of work performed in a single day
under 2 hours or less.
4.1.7. Be sure to keep this manual handy so that
you may refer to it later whenever any questions
arise.
4.1.8. Always be sure to include this manual when
selling, lending or otherwise transferring the own-
ership of the product
4.1.9. This chainsaw is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experi-
ence and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the
chainsaw by a person responsible for their safety.
4.2. WORKING GEAR AND CLOTHING
When using the product you should wear proper
clothing and protective equipment as follows

5. Hatchet or saw ( for removal of obstacles)
Never use the product when wearing pants with
loose cuffs, when wearing sandals or when bare-
foot.
4.3. FUEL WARNING
4.3.1. The engine of this product is designed to run
on a mixed fuel which contains highly ammable
petrol. Never store cans of fuel or rell the fuel tank
in any place where there is a boiler, stove, wood
re, electrical sparks, welding sparks or any other
source of heat or re which might ignite the fuel.
4.3.2. Smoking while operating the product or rell-
ing its fuel tank is extremely dangerous. Always be
sure to keep lit cigarettes away from the product at
all times.
4.3.3. When relling the tank always turn off the
engine rst and take a careful look around to make
sure that there are no sparks or open ames any-
where or nearby before refuelling.
4.3.4. If any fuel spillage occurs during refuelling,
use a dry rag to wipe up spills before turning the
engine back on again.
4.3.5. After refuelling, screw the fuel cap back
tightly onto the fuel tank and then carry the product
to a spot 3 meters or more away from where it was
refuelled before turning on the engine.
4.4. BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE
4.4.1. Check working place, the cutting object and
the cutting direction. If there is an obstacle remove it.
4.4.2. Never start cutting until you have a clear
working area, secure footing and a planned retreat
path from the falling tree.
4.4.3. Use caution and keep bystanders and ani-
mals out of the working area.
4.4.4. Inspect the machine for worn, loose or
damaged parts. Never operate a machine that is
damaged, improperly adjusted or is not completely
and securely assembled. Make sure that the saw
chain stops moving when the throttle control trigger
is released.
4.5. WHEN STARTING THE ENGINE
4.5.1. Always hold the machine rmly with both
hands when the engine is running. Use a rm grip
with your thumb and ngers encircling the handles.
4.5.2. Keep all parts of your body away from the
machine when the engine is running.
4.5.3. Before starting the engine, make sure the
chainsaw is not in contact anything.
4.6. OPERATION
4.6.1. Keep the handles dry, clean and free of
oil or fuel mixture.
4.6.2. Never touch the exhaust mufer, spark plug
or other metallic parts of the engine while the
engine is in operation or immediately after stopping
the engine. Doing so could result in serious burns
or electrical shock.
4.6.3. Use extreme caution when cutting small size
brush and saplings.
4.6.4. When cutting a limb that is under tension, be
alert for spring back
4.6.5. Check the tree for dead branches that could
fall during the felling operation.
4.6.6. Always shut the engine off before setting it
down.
4.7. Kickback safety precautions for chainsaw
users
WARNING
4.7.1. Kickback may occur when the nose or tip of
the guide bar touches an object, or when the wood

closes. Tip contact in some cases may cause a
lightning fast reverse reaction, kicking the guide
bar up and back towards the operator.
4.7.2 Pinching the chainsaw along the top of the
guide bar may push the guide bar rapidly back
towards the operator. Either of these reactions may
cause you to lose control of the chainsaw which
could result in serious personal injury.
4.7.3. Do not rely exclusively on the safety devices
built into your saw. As a chainsaw user you should
take several steps to keep cutting jobs free from
accident or injury.
4.7.4. With basic understanding of kickback you
can reduce or eliminate the element of surprise.
4.7.5. Keep good grip on the saw with both hands,
the right hand on the rear handle, and the left on
the front handle when the engine is running. Use
a rm grip with thumbs and ngers encircling the
chainsaw handles. A rm grip will help you reduce
kickback and maintain control of the saw.
4.7.6. Make certain that the area in which you are
cutting is free from obstructions. Do not let the
nose of the guide bar contact the log, branch or
any other obstruction which could be hit while you
are operating the saw.
4.7.7. Cut at high engine speeds.
4.7.8. Do not overreach or cut above shoulder
height.
4.7.9. Follow manufacturers sharpening and main-
tenance instructions for saw chains.
4.7.10. Only use replacement bars and chains
specied.
WARNING
The metallic parts reach high temperatures imme-
diately after stopping the engine
• Leave all maintenance other than the items listed
in the owners manual to your competent servicing
dealer.
4.8. Installing Guide bar and saw chain
A standard chainsaw package contains the items
as illustrated (F1)
(1) Power unit
(2) Bar protector
(3) Guide bar
(4) Chainsaw
(5) Plug wrench
(6) Screwdriver
(7) Spike and mounting screws
Open the box and install the guide bar and the saw
chain on the power unit as follows.
WARNING
The saw chain has very sharp edges, use thick
protective gloves for safety.
1. Pull the guard towards the front handle to
check that the chain not on.
2. Loosen the nuts and remove the chain cover.
3. Install the attached spike to the power unit.
4. Gear the chain to the sprocket and while tting
the saw chain around the guide bar, mount the
guide bar to the power unit. Adjust the position of
the chain tensioner nut on the chain cover to the
lower hole of the guide bar.

NOTE
Pay attention to the correct direction of the saw
chain.
1)Moving Direction
• Fit the chain cover to the power unit and fasten
the nuts to nger lightness.
• While holding up the tip of the bar, adjust the
chain tension by turning the tensioner screw until
the lie straps just touch the bottom side of the bar
rail (F4).
• Tighten the nuts securely with the tip bar held up
(12-15Nm). Then check the chain for smooth rota-
tion and proper tension while moving it by hand if
necessary, re-adjust with the chain cover loose.
• Tighten the tensioner screw.

Note
A new chain will expand its length in the beginning
of use. Check and re-adjust the tension frequently
as a loose chain can easily derail or cause rapid
wear of itself and the guide bar.
4.9. FUEL AND CHAIN OIL
Fuel
Mix a regular petrol (95 unleaded) and a quality-
proven 2 stroke oil.
Recommended mixing ratio:
Condition Petrol:Oil
Up to 20 hours use 20:1
After 20 hours use 25:1

WARNING
• Keep open ames away from the area where fuel
is handled or stored.
• Mix and store fuel only in an approved petrol
container.
NOTE
Most engine troubles are caused directly or
indirectly by the fuel used on the machine. Take
special care in using the correct fuel mixture.
NOTE
Do not use used oil that can cause damage to the
oil pump.
4.10. OPERATING THE ENGINE
4.10.1. STARTING ENGINE
1. Fill the fuel and oil tanks respectively, and
tighten the caps securely.
2. Put the ignition switch to the “on” position.
3. Before starting your chain saw, the chain brake
should be activated by pushing it forward (see
picture).
4. Always remove the bar cover before starting
your chain saw.
5. When doing a cold start, pull the choke out (to
the open position). Press the throttle trigger lockout
and the throttle trigger. Then press the choke all
the way in (to the closed position)
6. To start the chain saw, lay it on a at surface.
The cutting attachment must not be in contact with
the ground to avoid blunting it when starting and
putting yourself unnecessarily at risk.

8. Leaving the chain saw on the ground, place your
left hand on the handlebar and your right hand on
the starter rope. Push your right toecap into the
rear handle to stabilize the chain saw.
9. Slowly pull the starter rope with your right hand
until compression is felt. Then pull the starter rope
hard several times until the engine res briey. Pull
it upward, keeping it as vertical as you can, without
allowing the rope to chafe against the fan housing
10. The engine res only briey and dies again im-
mediately. Bring the choke out half way.
11. Pull the starter rope again until the engine res
again.
12. As soon as the engine has red and is running,
touch the throttle trigger briey with your index n-
ger. Once the the chiansaw comes to a consistant
idle, push the choke back to the closed position.
13. Then slowly lift up the chain saw, taking care
not to touch the throttle trigger.
14. Release the chain brake by pulling the chain
brake handle toward you with your left hand. Keep
hold of the handlebar with your left hand as you do
this. When you hear a click sound, this means the
chain has been released and can turn on the bar.
15. The saw is now ready for use. For safe working
practices please refer to your Instruction Manual.
WARNING
Starting of the chainsaw must only be attempted
on a level and rm ground.
WARNING
Keep clear of the saw chain as it will start rotating
upon starting of the engine.
4.11. CHECKING OIL SUPPLY
After starting the engine, run the chain at medium
speed and see if chain oil is scattered off as shown
in gure (F12).

The chain oil ow can be changed by insert-
ing a screwdriver in the hole on the bottom of
the clutch side. Adjust according to your work
conditions(F13).

NOTE: Ensure the fuel and oil tank is frequently
monitored. We suggest that the level be checked
with every startup.
4.12. ADJUSTING THE CARBURETTOR (F14)
The carburettor on your unit has been factory ad-
justed, but may require ne tuning due to change
in operation conditions. Before adjusting the
carburettor, make sure that the air lters are clean.
When adjusting the carburettor, take the following
steps.
4.12.1. Stop engine and screw in both H and L
needles until they stop. Never force, then set them
back the initial number of turns as shown below. H
Needle: 1 ¾, L Needle: 1 ¼
4.12.2. Start the engine and allow it to warm up at
half throttle.
4.12.3. Turn L needle slowly clockwise to nd a
position where idling speed is maximum, then set
the needle back a quarter (¼) turn.
4.12.4. Turn the idle adjusting screw (T) counter
clockwise so that the saw chain does not turn. If
idling speed is too slow, turn the screw clockwise.

Carburettor anti-freeze mechanism
Operating the chainsaw in temperatures of 0-5 ˚c
at times of high humidity may result in ice forming
within the carburettor, and this in turn may cause
the output power of the engine to be reduced or
for the engine to fail to operate smoothly. This
product has accordingly been designed with a
ventilation hatch the back of the air cleaner cover
to allow warm air to be supplied to the engine and
to thereby preventing icing from occurring. Under
normal circumstances the product should be used
in normal operating mode i.e in the mode to which
it is set at the time of shipment. However when
the possibility exists that icing may occur, the
unit should be set to operate in anti-freeze mode
before use (F15).
1. Flip the engine switch to turn off the engine.
2. Remove the air cleaner cover from the cylinder
cover.
3. Loosen a screw and remove the screen on the
back of the air cleaner cover.
4. Reattach the screen right side left so as to the
anti-icing plate is on properly. Reinstall the cover.
HOW TO SWITCH BETWEEN OPERATING
MODES (F15)
1. Flip the engine switch to turn off the engine. 2.
Remove the air cleaner cover from the
cylinder cover
3.Loosen a screw and remove the screen on the
back of the air cleaner cover.
4.Reattach the screen right side left so as to the
anti-icing plate is on the right. Reinstall the cover.

WARNING!
Continuing to use the product in anti-freeze mode even
when temperatures have rise and returned to normal
may result in the engine failing to start properly or in the
engine failing to operate in its normal speed, and for
this reason you should always be sure to return the unit
to normal operating mode if there is no danger or icing
occurring.
When using the saw with the anti-freeze mode fre-
quently check the screen and keep it clean of saw dust.
4.13. CHAIN BREAK
This machine is equipped with an automatic brake
system to stop chainsaw rotation upon occurrence of
kickback while in saw cutting operation. The brake is
automatically operated by an internal force which acts
on the weight tted inside the front guard. This bark can
also be operated manually with the front guard turned
down to the guide bar (F16). To release the brake,
pull up the front guard toward the front handle till ‘click’
sound is heard.
CAUTION
Be sure to conrm brake operation on the daily inspection.
How to conrm:
1.Turn off the engine.
2.Holding the chainsaw horizontally, release your hand
from the front handle, hit the tip of the guide bar to a
stump or a piece of wood, and conrm brake opera-
tion. Operating level varies by bar size (F17). Incase
the chain brake is not effective, send the chainsaw to
the authorised service center for repair. Do no open
the throttle while the chain brake is engaged. This will
cause damage to your chainsaw.
4.14. STOPPING THE ENGINE
• 1. Release the throttle lever to allow the engine idling
for a few seconds.
• 2. Put the switch to the “O” (stop) position (F18).
• NEVER ATTEMPT TO SWITCH THE ENGINE OFF
WHILE CUTTING. THIS MAY CAUSE PERSONAL
INJURY.

4.15. Sawing
• Before proceeding with using the chainsaw, read the
safety section of this manual. It is recommended to rst
practice sawing easy logs. This also helps you get ac-
customed to your unit.
• Always follow the safety regulations. The chainsaw
must only be used for cutting wood. It is forbidden to
cut other types of material. Vibrations and kickback
vary with different materials and the requirements of the
safety regulations would not be respected. Do not use
the chainsaw as a lever for lifting, moving or splitting
objects. Do not mount the chainsaw to a stand. It is
forbidden to hitch tools to the chainsaw that are not
specied by the manufacturer.
• It is not necessary to force the chainsaw while cutting.
• When the chain is caught in the cut, do not attempt to
pull it out by force, but use a wedge or a lever to remove
it.
4.16. GUARD AGAINST KICKBACK (F 19)
• This saw is equipped with a chain brake that will stop
the chain in the event of kickback. You must check the
chain brake operation before each usage by running
the saw at full throttle for 1-2 seconds and pushing
