PLATE GETS VERY HOT. DO NOT TOUCH THE
HOT SURFACE. TO LIFT UP THE TOP PLATE, USE
ONLY THE LEVELLING HANDLE! WHEN TURNED
OFF THE DEVICE, THE TOP PLATE WILL STAY
WARM FOR SOME TIME. BEFORE ANY FUTHER
OPERATION, LET THE DEVICE COOL DOWN.

for air circulation around theContactGrill.
• Donot placetheContactGrill on any surface
thatmay beaected by heat. Theuse of a heat
resistant matis recommended on these surfaces.
• Alwaysensure theContactGrill is properly
assembled before use.
• Takecare when using theAdjustableGrilling
HeightControl.
• Allow thegrill to cool downbefore releasing the
removableplates. Donot release theremovable
plates whilethegrill is being operated.

Grill when thelid is closed, when in use and

cooking plates clean. Follow thecleaning
instructions provided in this book.

TO USE AS A GRILL
1. Insert theplug into a 230/240V power outlet
and switch thepower ON. TheRed power
‘On’ lightwill illuminate.
2. Ensure theRemovabledrip tray is correctly
inserted and positioned correctly into the
appliance(see Fig 1).
3. Ensure thetop and bottom grill plates are
securely locked into position (Fig 2).
4. Ensure thetop plate is in theclosed position
for more ecient pre-heating.
5. Turn thetiltcontrol to the‘Angle’ position,
to ensure better fatdrainage.
6. Turn thevariabletemperature control to
‘Sear’ for fast heatup.
7. Allow theContactGrill to preheatuntil the
green ‘Ready’ lightilluminates.
8. Placemeator foodsto becooked on the
bottom cooking plate. Refer to Grilling
recipes or guidefor cooking times.
NOTE:
It is important thattheContactgrill
plates are securely locked into position
when using thegrill.

Removeany promotional materialsand
packaging materialsbefore use. Check thatthe
cooking plates are cleanand free of dust.
If necessary, wipeover with a damp cloth.
When using theCatler ContactGrill for the
rst timeyou may noticea ne smokehaze.
This is caused by theheating of someof the
components. There is no need for concern.

9. Use thehandleto close thetop plate. The
top plate hasa oating hingesystem thatis
designed to press downevenly on thefood.
TheGrilling HeightControl on theright
hand sideof thetop plate is used to adjust
for thethickness of thefood. Thetop plate
must befully lowered to achievegrill marks
onto thefood.
10. When theselected ingredients are grilled,
use thehandleto open thetop lid. Remove
thefood using a plastic spatula.
TO USE AS A SANDWICH PRESS
1. Insert theplug into a 230/240V power outlet
and switch thepower on. Thered power ‘On’
lightwill illuminate.
2. Ensure theRemovableDrip Tray is correctly
inserted and positioned back into the
appliance.
3. Ensure thetop and bottom plates grill plates
are securely locked into position.
4. Ensure thetop plate is in theclosed position
for more ecient preheating.
5. Turn theBase Plate TiltDial to theFlat
position.
6. Turn thevariableheatcontrol dial to the
‘Sandwich’ position.
7. Allow theContactGrill to preheatuntil
thegreen ‘READY’ lightilluminates.
8. During this time, prepare thesandwich and
placeit onto thebase cooking plate. Always
placesandwiches towardstherearof the
bottom cooking plate.
9. Close thetop cooking plate which has
a oating hingethatis designed to evenly
press downon thesandwich. Thetop plate
must befully lowered to cook sandwiches.
TheGrilling HeightControl on theright
hand sideof thetop plate is used to adjust
for thethickness of thesandwich.
10. Toasting should takeapproximately
5-8 minutes. Exacttoasting timewill be
a matter of preference. It will also depend on
thetypeof bread and lling used.
NOTE:
Thegreen ‘READY’ lightwill cycleon
and oduring thetoasting process
indicating thatthecorrecttemperature
is being maintained.
11. When thesandwich is cooked, use the
handleto open thetop plate. Removethe
sandwich using a plastic spatula. Never use
metal tongsor a knife asthese cancause
damageto thenon-stick coating of the
cooking plates.
NOTE:
Alwaysallow theContactGrill to
preheatuntil thegreen ‘READY’ light
illuminates.
