1.1 PLAYABLE DISC TYPES
The following typesof discs canplay in theBlu-Ray Disc player:
1. OVERVIEW
This BD playerhas the capabilityof providing high-definition,cinema-like pictures and
multi-channel audio. Soundtracks in more than one language are usually included on
the disc, andsubtitles in morelanguages are oftenincluded as well.

Only DVD-RW/-R recorded with UDF or ISO9660 format can be played back.
The discs must be finalized, VR-mode.
Playback may not work for some types of discs, or when specific operations, such as
angle change and aspect ratio adjustment, are being performed. Information about
the discs is written in detail on the box. Please refer to this if necessary.
Some DVD-VR discs will be playable but not all features are available.

1.2 REGION CODE
If the Regionnumber of aBD or DVDdisc does notcorrespond to theregion number of
this Blu-ray discplayer, theBD player cannotplay the disc. The region code is printed
on the rearpanel of theBD Player.

2.3.1 CONNECTING TO A TV WITH AUDIO CABLE
Using the audio cables connect the AUDIO OUT (red and white) terminals
Connect the BDplayer s video out jack to the video input jack of TV.
2.3.2 CONNECTING TO A TV WITH AN HDMI CABLE
Notes: The player supports video resolutionup to 1080p60Hz on HDMIoutput.

3.3.2. Stereo Audio Outputs
These are analog,“old fashioned”stereo (left/right) outputs.If your TV does nothave
an HDMI input,you can connectthese outputs tothe stereo audioinputs of aTV.
3.3.3. Composite Video
If your TV does not have component or HDMI video inputs,connect this outputto the
composite video inputof the television.
3.3.4. HDMI 1.3Audio/Video Output
If you areusing a surround-soundaudio receiver withan HDMI input, connect
the HDMI outputof the BDplayer to theHDMI input ofthe audio receiver. (You will need
to connect asecond HDMI cablefrom the HDMIoutput of theaudio receiver tothe HDMI
input of thetelevision)
If your surround-soundaudio receiver doesnot have anHDMI input (orif you arenot
using a surround-sound receiver), connectthis output directlyto the HDMIinput of the
TV. One of theother audio outputscan be connectedto the audioreceiver.
3.3.5. Ethernet Connector
For BD-Live only, use anEthernet cable toconnect this connectorto access Ethernet
while playing BD-Livedisc.
3.3.6. USB 2.0Connector
Used for externalUSB memory access, play supported audio/videofiles on USB
memory or storedownload content intoUSB memory forBD-Live
Warning: The USB memory stick should be Plugged in to the unit directly.

3.3 Connectors Description
3.3.1 SPDIF Digital Audio Output
The SPDIF outputis a digitalaudio output. Ifyou have asurround-sound receiver with
a SPDIF (coaxial)input,connect this outputto the coaxialinput of thesurround sound
receiver.

4. Remote Control 1.Open/Close
Press this buttonto open/close thedisc tray.
2.Subtitle
This key canbe used toenable/disable subtitles during
BD/DVD playback. If the disc has more than one
subtitle language, itcan also beused to cyclethrough
the subtitle languages.
3.Audio
This key isused to cyclethrough the movieaudio
soundtracks available onthe disc to disc available on all
discs to discs
4.Pop Menu/Title
On BD discsonly, this button canbe used tobring up
the main discs to discs menu. (Not available on all discs).
5.Angle
Some BD andDVDs are filmedwith more thanone
camera angle. During playback of such a disc,
pressing this buttonwill allow youto switch camera
angles. (Not available on all discs)
6.VOL (+/-)
Pressing the VOL+ button will increase the volume of
the BD player'saudio output. Pressingthe VOL -
button will decreasethe volume ofthe BD player's
audio output.
7.STOP
This button stopsplayback of aBD/DVD movie orfiles
on disc.
8.DISPLAY
Press this buttonto show currentplay status andtime
information.
9.Menu Navigation Keys
These keys areused when navigatingthe menus onBD and DVDs.They are also used
for navigating thesetup menus forthe BD player.
10.GOTO
This button isused with thenumeric keypad tojump to aspecific track onan audio CD.
11.PREV
Press this buttonto play previoustitle, chapter,track or fileif valid.
12.NEXT
Press this buttonto play nexttitle, chapter,track or fileif valid.
13.Return
When navigating fileson a dataCD or USBstick, pressing thisbutton will returnyou
to the previousfolder or menu.
14.Random
Used for randomplayback of audiofiles on disc.(Not available onall discs).
15.Colour Keys
The red, green,yellow, andblue keys areused to implementdisc-specific features on
some BD discs.(Not available onall discs).
16. Resolution
Under STOP status, press this button, it can change resolution settings directlya
.
17.Secondary Subtitle
Used to bringup the subtitle(if available) forthe picture- in-picture(director's
commentary, etc) on aBD title. Ifthe disc hasmore than onedirector's commentary
subtitle language, itcan also beused to cyclethrough the subtitlelanguages.
(Not available on all discs).

18. STANDBY
Press the STANDBY button to turn theBD player onor off.
Note: AfterAC powerbeing turned on, the system will take about 16s torun linux and
initialize hardware, please be patient, the system will not respond to any key
input during this period.
19. Numeric Keypad
These buttons areused with theGOTO button to jump tospecific title/chapter (track)
or time.
20. MUTE
Mutes the speakers of your TV.
21. CLEAR
When entering numericvalues via thenumeric keypad ,this button isused to cleara
number entered incorrectly.
22.SLOW
Pressing this buttonwill cause thevideo to beplayed at ½,1/4, 1/8 speed.
23. Step
Pressing this button will play the movie one frame at a time.
24.Play
Pressing this buttonwill start orresume playback.
25. Pause
Pressing this buttonwill pause audioand video playback.
26.Menu
Pressing this keywill immediately stopplayback, and bringup the mainor 'top' menu
of the BDor DVD disc.(Not available onall discs)In themain menu, youcan typically
choose subtitle language,audio track, ordifferent scene etc.
27.Setup
Shows the settings menu. This key will not work during disc playback.

28.Fast Forward
Used to “FastForward” during contentplayback.
29.Fast Reverse
Used to “FastReverse” during content playback.
30.A-B
When a discis playing, pressingthis button oncewill save a“start point” forrepeating
playback. Pressing thisbutton again toselect a “endpoint” then playbackwill repeat
from the startpoint to theend point. (Notavailable on alldiscs)
31.REPEAT
This button isused to cyclethrough the possible“repeat”modes based oncontent
played.

32.Bonus View
On BD discs,this button isused to turnthe video portionof the director'scommentary
(picture-in-a-picture) on andoff. (Not available on alldiscs).
Note: Director's commentarymust have beenturned on inthe BD's mainmenu in
order for thiskey to work.
33.Secondary Audio
On BD discsequipped with multipledirector's commentaries inseveral languages,
pressing this keywill cycle throughall of thelanguages available forthe director's
commentaries. (Not availableon all discs).

5.System Setting
To view system settings press the SETUP key. The menu will show on screen as below.

5.2Display
5.2.1 TV Type: Select to output NTSC or PAL video format .
5.2.2 Resolution: To get the best video quality set the best resolution for your TV.,
If you are not sure select HDMI Auto. The system will read the preferred
resolution supported by your TV via EDID.
5.2.3 Select the correct aspect ratio. (Refer to the below table)
Note: The Aspect setting only effects HDMI and COMPONENT output. The 4:3
setting has

5.2.4 Film Mode:system will output1080p 24Hz ifthis item isset to ONand disc

5.2.5 Color Depth:ON/OFF
Note: Please ensureyour TV can support deepcolor properly ifyou want toselect ON.
5.2.6 Bluray 3Dmode: Automaticor Forced 2D.
no effect if the resolution has been set to 720p, 1080i or 1080p.
(your TV must be Full HD for this option)
5.2.7 CEC support:
Set this itemto enable/disable CEC:
The CEC feature is designedto allow CEC-enableddevices to commandand
control each otherwithout user intervention.For example: Ifyour TV is also CEC
-enabled and youwill turn off your TV, the Blu-Ray player will get a CEC signal
and turn off automatically. Or ifyou turn onyour Blu-Ray player, your TV will
automatically turn onand switch toHDMI input.
Note: Not everyCEC-Enabled unit iscompatible with thisunit.

5.3.2 Digital Output:
If you onlyhave two speakers,set PCM stereo.
If you connect the receiver with more than two speakers,please refer tobelow tables:

5.3.1 PCM Down sampling: select right bitrate for PCM signal to ensure your SPDIF
receiver can handleit correctly. It's noeffect for HDMI digital audio output.

5.3.3 Dynamic Range Control: means that you can allow the BD player to make

Note: In order to get the correct primary and secondary mixed audio at the Audio Out
the loud parts of a movie's sound track quieter than they would be in the theatre,
without making the dialog of the actors any quieter. (Analog audio output and digital
output should be set to PCM or Bitstream Mixed).
FL and FR, please set HDMI to 2ch-PCM in the SETUP menu (Settings>Audio>Digital
Output>PCM Stereo) or connect a HDMI cable to your TV.

5.4 BD-Live
5.4.1 BD-Live Internet Access: Control BD player accessing internet
Limit access :Only allow theinserted Blu-Ray discto download contentfrom a
BD-Live website whichhas a validonline certificate. This will reducethe chances
of downloading maliciouscontent onto theplayer.
Always allow access: Allow the BD the inserted Blu-Ray disc to access content
from all BD-Liveinternet sites whoseinternet address isencoded onto thedisc.
There is no danger ofmalicious code downloadfrom valid commercialBD discs,
but choosing this option and downloading BD-live content via illegally authored
BD discs, ordiscs obtained fromquestionable sources, couldresult in malicious
code being downloadedonto the player.
Prohibit access :Blocks the insertedBlu-Ray disc from accessing BD-Live content
over the internet.
5.4.2 BD-Live Storage:
Show BD-Live storageinformation, select storagedevice to clearBlu-ray storage.
5.5 System
5.5.1 Optical Disc Auto Play: This option is used to tell the BD player whether or not to
start loading themain title menuof a disc as soon asthe disc trayis closed.
5.5.2 Screen Saver Duration:
This option will activate the screen saver mode.
5.5.3 Auto Power Down:System will enterstandby after certainperiod of time
automatically if nouser operation.
5.5.4 Reset Settings:
Reset all settingsto factory default(Parental Control levelwill not bereset).
5.6 Network
Press “ENTER” buttonwhen the itemis highlighted, thenselect “ WIRED”to config
network:
5.6.1 Link Status: Show if ethernet cable is connected to BD player.
5.6.2 MAC Address: Show MAC address of this BD player.
5.6.3 IP Mode: Choose IP mode here forinternet access. Choosing“Manual” mode,
5.6.4 ~ 5.6.8will be activatedfor user input,otherwise they areinactivated.
5.6.4 IP Address: Show current IPaddress or accessuser input whilein “Manual” IP
mode.
5.6.5 Subnet Mask: Show current Subnet Mask or access user input while in “Manual”
IP mode.
5.6.6 Gateway: Show current Gatewayor access userinput while in“Manual” IP mode.
5.6.7 Primary DNS: Show current Primary DNS or access user input while in “Manual”

6.3.1 CD-R/RW, DVD+/-R, DVD+/-RW, BD-R or BD-RE with supported files recorded in
UDF or ISO9660format (must befinalized) can be played backon this BD player.

7. BD-Live Operation
7.1 D
Some (but certainlynot all) BDdiscs contain additional features that are made
available to playersthat are connectedto the internet, and have additional memory
added. These additional features mayinclude things like
-the ability todownload new movietrailers,
-additional 'commentary' byactors and directors,
- game play andchat
In order toaccess BD-Live functions,the player mustbe properly configured for
BD-Live internet access,and it mustbe equipped with additional memory.
7.2 Adding external BD-live Memory to player
7.2.1 Obtain USBmemory which hasbeen formatted as FAT32.
7.2.2 Insert theUSB memory stickinto the USBslot on theplayer.
7.3 Setting BD-LiveInternet Access Mode
7.3.1 In theBD Player's mainsetup menu, goto the 'Other”menu choice;
Then, choose “BD-Live Internet Access”. Be surethat “LimitAccess” or “Always
AllowAccess” is checked.
7.3.2 Once theUSB memory stickhas been inserted,if there is not at least 100Mbyte
of free spaceon the device,you should choose“Clear BD Storage” from the
“Other” setup menuitem
7.3.3 In theBD Player's mainsetup menu, goto the 'Network' menu choice; Then,
choose “IP mode”. Set up the Network IPaddresses per your router's or ISPs
recommendations
NOTE: The 'Connectivity Test' must pass, or you are not connected to the internet, and
cannot access BD-LiveContent on theweb.
7.4 BD-Live InternetAccess Example

7.5.1 This player only supportsthe connection ofUSB memory inorder to storeBD 2.0
downloaded content
7.5.2 Any externally attached devices will be set as the BD-Live storage.The internal
storage availability will be ignored until the external device is disconnected.
7.5.3 Older BD-Live content may have expired and will not function, these files
should be deleted by the user to free up storage space.
7.4.3 The player will connect to the internet and show a download menu as the
below picture.
7.4.4 You can select the content to download from the Previews sub menu.
