Centrios 6311511 User manual

Weather station with In/Out
Temperature and Atomic clock
6311511

INTRODUCTION
Thank you for selecting this CentriosTM
Weather clock. This clock is supplied with
a remote sensor and can support up to 3
sensors in total (additional sensors sold
separately). The sensor is a product of
break through technology, withstanding
deep freeze temperatures
of - 40°C!
NOTE: Please keep this manual handy as
you use your new product. It contains practi-
cal step-by-step instructions, as well as
technical specifications and warnings you
should know about.

GETTING STARTED
MAIN UNIT
Insert batteries before first use, matching the
polarity (+ and -) as indicated.
To insert the main unit batteries:
1. Open the battery compartment.
2. Insert the batteries, matching the
polarity (+ / -).
3. Close the battery compartment.
NOTE: Do not use rechargeable batteries. It is
recommended that you use alkaline batteries
with this product for longer performance. How-
ever, if you want to use the sensor in colder
temperatures i.e. -20°C (-4°F) to -40°C (-40°F),
you should use lithium batteries for optimal
performance.
indicates main unit batteries are low.
Battery life for the main unit is approximately
1 year with one sensor connected. Battery life
will be reduced with extra sensors connected.

8
SENSOR SET UP
To set up the sensor:
1. Slide open the battery compartment.
2. Insert the batteries, matching the polarity
(+ / -).
3. Set the channel switch. Select a different
channel for each sensor.
4. Place the sensor near the main unit and
press RESET on the sensor.
5. Slide shut the battery compartment.
6. Place the sensor in the desired location
using the table stand or wall mount.

9
SENSOR SET UP
For best results:
• Place the sensor out of direct sunlight and
moisture.
• Do not place the sensor more than 30
meters (98 feet) from the main (indoor) unit.
• Position the sensor so that it faces the main
(indoor) unit, minimizing obstructions such
as doors, walls, and furniture.
• Place the sensor in a location with a clear
view to the sky, away from metallic or
electronic objects.
• Position the sensor close to the main unit
during cold winter months as below-
freezing temperatures may affect battery
performance and signal transmission.
The transmission range may vary depending
on many factors. You may need to experiment
with various locations to get the best results.
Standard Alkaline batteries contain significant
amounts of water. Because of this they will
freeze in low temperatures of approximately -
20°C (-4°F). Disposable Lithium batteries have
a much lower threshold for temperature with
an estimated freezing range of below -40°C
(-40°F).

10
CLOCK RECEPTION
This product is designed to synchronize its
calendar clock automatically once it is brought
within range of the WWVB-60 radio signal
generated from the atomic clock in Fort Collins,
Colorado.
The clock receives the radio signals whenever
it is within 3200 km (2000 miles) of a signal. To
set the clock to your local time zone see Set
Clock.

SENSOR
Data is sent from the sensor every 40 seconds.
The sensor LED fl ashes when data is being
transmitted. The clock signal reception icon
indicates reception status.
Wireless ranges can be impacted by a variety
of factors such as extremely cold
temperatures. Extreme cold may temporarily
reduce the effective range between the sensor
and the main unit. If the unit’s performance
fails due to low temperature, the unit will
resume proper functioning as the
temperature rises to within the normal
temperature range (i.e. no permanent damage
will occur to the unit due to low temperatures).
