Troubleshooting
A - No power and
no lights after
install.
•Make sure the protector is turned on (1) in the front.
•Test the wall socket is live and the breaker switch has not tripped.
•Test the protector on another wall socket e.g. lamp.
•If the lights still don’t come on, order a replacement.
B - No power and
yellow waiting
light stays on
after install.
•This usually means that there is an unstable voltage, or the wall
outlet is not grounded/wired correctly. Test the wall socket ground
and wiring using an outlet tester.
•Try switching the plug off and then on again. If that does not work,
leaving the switch on (1), pull the whole protector out and plug in
again directly into the wall socket.
•The equipment power draw may be too high and exceed the max
voltage/amps/watts. Set the low voltage setting to 90V, unplug any
other equipment, any extension cord and try again.
•If you have a watt tester, use it to check the max power draw.
C - Trips after
short time of use
after install.
•The green normal light comes on, the equipment runs and then the
plug trips after a short time and goes into yellow waiting, or red.
•The equipment power draw may be too high and exceed the max
voltage/amps/watts. Set the low voltage setting to 90V, remove the
extension cord, unplug any other equipment, and try again.
•Test the wall socket ground and wiring using an outlet tester.
•If you have a watt tester, use it to check the max power draw.
•If the red low voltage light is displayed, reduce the low voltage
threshold on the back of the plug to 90v.
D - No power, no
lights, stays in
yellow waiting or
red for a long
period after a
power surge.
•Sometimes power surges can be excessive, and the protector can get
damaged in the line of duty. Sometimes you don’t even know.
•Usually the protector auto-resets itself after a power surge, but
sometimes may need to be manually reset using the A or B
troubleshooting sections above.
•If the protector continues to fail, it has done its job and it’s time to
order another one. It’s also useful to keep replacements handy.
Warranty and
Replacement.
•All parts and workmanship are under warranty for 12 months from
time of purchase. If within this time, the protector is not operating as
expected then it may be replaced or refunded at no cost. Go through
your store or contact Clever Family Homes Support with the order id,
name/address, and date (attach the packing slip if possible).
