Replacement Instructions for SW-23 PROBE
Tools required: Phillips Head Screwdriver, Slip Joint Pliers, 5/16” Nut Driver, Pliers, Knife, Safety
Gloves, and Shop Towel.
Before beginning, pump any fluid from the machine out into buckets or empty fluid boxes. This
will make changing the parts easier and provide a chance to clean out any sludge buildup that
may be in the base.
1. Unplug the SmartWasher from the power source.
2. Remove the quick release pins that secure the sink to the base.
3. Disconnect the sink hose from the base by releasing the metal rings on the quick connect
coupling.
4. Remove the sink and set aside.
5. On the outside of the machine, detach the control box lid by removing four screws with the
Phillips head screwdriver.
6. On the inside of the machine, detach the heater box lid by removing four screws with the
Phillips head screwdriver. BE CAREFUL NOT TO DROP THE SCREWS INTO THE
BASE.
7. On the outside of the machine, use the pliers to disconnect the pump wires (left) from the
control board. Feed pump wires through the bulkhead fitting into the heater box inside of
the base. (Removing the pump wires will allow the probe connector to fit through the
bulkhead fitting.) ***See diagram***
8. On the outside of the machine, disconnect the probe cable from the control board in the
control box and feed the cable through the bulkhead fitting to the heater box inside of the
base.
9. Using the slip joint pliers, unscrew the probe from the bottom of the heater box.
10. Remove probe and set aside.
11. Feed the cable on the new probe through the bottom of the heater box located inside of
the base. Screw the probe into the fitting and use the slip joint pliers to secure connection.
12. Feed the probe cable through the bulkhead fitting into the control box outside of the base.
Attach the connector to the control board. ***See diagram***
13. Feed the pump wires through the bulkhead fitting and reconnect to the control board (left)
inside of the control box. From top to bottom, the wires should be: brown, blue, and
yellow/green. ***See diagram***
14. Inside of the base, replace the heater box lid and tighten the screws using the Phillips
head screwdriver. BE CAREFUL NOT TO DROP THE SCREWS INTO THE BASE.
15. Outside of the base, replace the control box lid and tighten the screws using the Phillips
head screwdriver.
16. Replace the sink. Plug the quick release pins back into the sides of the base. Reconnect
the sink hose and push the metal rings toward the base to lock into place.
17. Replace the fluid in the base of the SmartWasher. Plug unit into power source and test.
