OVERVIEW
The Cinepro PowerLight 2400 is the most advanced power
conditioner, surge protector, and control center ever
developed. With advanced line conditioning, harmful noise
and interference from the AC line is eliminated. Active
electronic surge protection provides protection from harmful
lightning strikes and other power line disturbances.
Separate digital and video sockets are isolated from the rest of
the outlets, so that noise and hash originating in CD, DVD
players, and Satellite systems are prevented from reaching
other components via power cords.
Handy, LED illuminated slide-out lamp holders feature four
color -full range dimming and light angle adjustment.
Downward-directed light illuminates only the front panels of
the equipment below the PowerLight 2400 for non-invasive
equipment lighting during a music or video performance.
LOCATION
The PowerLight 2400 should be placed directly above your
components in a rack. In this way the pull out light modules
will illuminate all components directly below and up to four
feet from the PowerLight 2400. The unit is designed to
supply power to most, if not all, of your audio-video system
components. As such, it should be located within convenient
reach of all component power cords. Heat is not a
consideration, so the unit can safely be placed in a closed
cabinet. Optional rack mount ears are available for
professional rack mounting of the component.
To connect the PowerLight 2400, plug the heavy duty three-
prong power cord directly into a properly grounded AC wall
outlet. A grounded outlet is important to preserve the surge
protection capabilities of the PowerLight 2400. If the front
panel Ground Fault indicator is not illuminated, there could be
a problem with the electrical ground coming out of the wall
socket. Have it checked by a qualified electrician
immediately.
The maximum continuous current of all connected
components is 20 amps (2400 watts AC). Peak currents of up
to 25 amps are allowed for a duration not exceeding 2
seconds.

SYSTEM POWER SWITCH
Touch the front panel switch for on or off function. The “AC
line” LED indicates the presence of voltage in the wall
socket.
FRONT PANEL VOLTAGE MONITOR
The PowerLight 2400 features a front panel display, reading
from 90 to 128 volts..
ACTIVE PROTECTION, AUTO RESTORE
A computer-controlled circuit continuously monitors
incoming AC voltage. It will flash the voltage display if the
incoming AC voltage approaches the high or low extremes of
90 or 134 volts. If the voltage goesbelow 90 or above 134
volts, the front panel “Volt Protect” indicator will illuminate,
and the PowerLight 2400 will instantly shut off all outlets to
protect your equipment. If it is desired that the system power
be re-applied automatically when the wall voltage is back in
proper range, either supply a 12V trigger voltage to the
sense input, or plug the sense AC cord into one of the un-
switched outlets on the rear of the PowerLight 1800 and
activate the sense switch on the rear panel. This, of course
will disable the front panel switch, and allow system power
whenever AC is present.
SYSTEM ILLUMINATION LAMPS
Two aluminum slide out lamp holders illuminate components
directly below the PowerLight 2400 for convenience. Using
Cool-Light LED’s, you may choose one of four colors (Red,
Green, Blue, White) for this effect. Lamps go out
automatically when retracted into the chassis. They are fully
dimmable, through a solid state dimmer that creates no
additional noise of its own. The lamps may be left on
continuously, if desired.

Plug the AC power cords from all system components directly
into the back of the PowerLight 2400. This offers full line
conditioning and filtering for your entire system, as well as
advanced computer controlled power surge and spike
protection.
UNSWITCHED OUTLETS
Use these outlets for any component with a timer, such as
VCR’s or TV’s. If you wish to turn on the PowerLight 2400
and the rest of your system via an existing component with an
infrared remote control, such as a receiver or processor with a
switched AC outlet on the back, plug your receiver into the
un-switched outlet (see REMOTE TRIGGER section at right).
DELAYED TURN-ON
When you turn on the PowerLight 2400, four of the back
panel switched outlets receive current immediately. The two
sockets marked “delay” receive current approximately five
seconds later. Use these sockets for power amplifiers or
powered subwoofers. These sockets go on last and off first,
so annoying speaker pops are eliminated. If you are using
large, separate power amplifiers such as our 3k6 series, you
may wish to plug them directly into the wall for maximum
current availability. Most large power amplifiers have a
feature called “12 Volt triggering” In this case, use the
delayed turn-on sockets to drive a low voltage “trigger”
supply, such as our DCT-12V. When current is supplied to
this socket, the 12 volts go to the power amplifier to turn it on.
DIGITAL ISOLATED OUTLETS
Two double-isolated digital outlets are located on the rear
panel. These outlets feature an additional stage of noise
filtering and isolation. DVD, CD, Laser Disc players, and
outboard D/A converters are best plugged into these outlets.
Digital components are particularly susceptible to power line
noise. This noise creates errors in the digital bit-stream
through misreads, and can cause additional jitter and errors.
This causes the digital device to interpolate, or fill in the
missing gaps in the digital information. This creates a sound
that is less full and, in severe cases, results in a harsh and
grainy sound. In addition, digital components themselves
create a small amount of RF noise when operating.
The PowerLight 2400 effectively isolates these components
from the rest of the analogue units in the system by double
filtering the AC toand from these digital components. The
result is better, cleaner, smoother sound from your entire
system.
CINEPRO PowerLight 2400-rear view
The PowerLight 2400 can be activated via the front panel
push switch, or via the remote sense cord. This thin
power cord has a 120 volt plug, which may be used for 120
volt activation, such as plugging into a switched outlet on a
receiver or processor. Using the sense power cord in this
way allows the use of a infrared remote controlled
component to turn on the entire system, including the
PowerLight 2400. Be sure to plug the remote component’s
power cord into the “un-switched” outlet on the back of the
PowerLight 2400.
If something other than AC remote activation is desired, such
as with home automation components or 12V DC triggering,
the plug on the thin power cord may be snipped off, and any
voltage from 9 to 140 volts AC or DC applied to this cord
will activate the power.
The remote sense circuit utilizes an advanced photo-optic
triggering system, so any polarity and a wide range of
trigging voltages is permissible.
REAR PANEL 12 Volt Remote Trigger
For normal operation via the front panel POWER button,
the rear panel sense switch is set to “OFF.”
For remote trigger activation, move the sense switch to the
“ON” position. The front panel power button will be
inoperative, and all power on and off functions for the
PowerLight 2400 will be handled by the remote component.
REAR PANEL FUSES
At the far left of the rear panel there is a fuse holder. These
are the main system fuses. If the equipment plugged into the
PowerLight 2400 exceeds 20 amps for more than a few
seconds, the fuses will blow, and the unit will cease to
operate. Replace the top fuse with a 3AG 15A, 120 volt
fuse. If necessary replace the lower fuse with a 3AG 20A,
120 volt fuse
If the main power fuse blows frequently, this may indicate
excessive consumption of the components plugged into the
PowerLight 2400. Please contact your dealer for more
information.

COAXIAL SURGE PROTECT
The PowerLight 2400 includes convenient “F” style
connectors for hooking up satellite and cable TV. This
allows full surge protection to these often overlooked
sources of possible lightning spikes. This is a low loss
pass-through connection.
Simply connect the coaxial cable coming fromthe wall
(or satellite dish) to the corresponding connector
marked “IN.” Connect an additional cord from “COAX
OUT” directly to the desired VCR, TV, or DSS Tuner.
LIGHTNING AND SURGE PROTECTION
The PowerLight 2400 will help protect all equipment
plugged into its outlets from lightning strikes and power
line surges. If the lightning strikes a distant power line,
the PowerLight 2400 will protect your equipment
invisibly and harmlessly.
In the unlikely event that lightning strikes your actual
building or a location close to it, the PowerLight 2400
will protect your equipment, but may sustain some
minor damage to its internal fuses and MOV’ s. This
will be indicated if the front panel PROTECT indicator
is not on. If this is not lit, have the unit inspected at a
local repair shop, or return it to the factory for
inspection and recalibration. There is a nominal charge
for refitting and recalibrating the PowerLight 2400.
In extremely active lightning areas, we recommend the
extra precaution of a whole house lightning protector,
installed at the incoming breaker box for maximum
protection. Contact your local utility company or a
licensed electrician for more details.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
The PowerLight 2400 is manufactured from the finest
components. It will provide many years of flawless
performance with little or no maintenance, aside from
occasionally wiping the front panel with a mild glass
cleaner. Do not use harsh solvents as they may harm
the finish. Please do not open the sealed cabinet. There
are no user serviceable parts inside.
Thank you for choosing Cinepro.
Enjoy your new component.

Used in conjunction with the Power Sequencer 120, a single switch on the PowerLight 2400 can control many AC outlets, some of
which come on in a delayed sequence, to properly power up a large or complex system. This is most useful when separate
preamplifiers and power amplifiers are employed, extending the one delayed outlet set to four variable delayed outlets.
To ensure maximum performance from your equipment at all times, a Cinepro POWER SUPPLY 15 or 20 regulates the incoming AC
line to precisely 120 Volts. POWER SUPPLY 15 and 20 also features a microprocessor “voltage sentry” that automatically shuts the
system down in the event incoming line voltage deviates outside of safe operating levels to further protect your valuable system
investment.
For ultimate system performance, the PowerPRO 20 is necessary. This revolutionary componentbalances the AC power coming out
of the wall. This balanced power, along with advanced line conditioning and electronic surge suppression, will dramatically improve
any high resolution system, both video and audio.
